OOC: If anyone sees this thread and wishes to actively roleplay with one of their characters from WON/SRPG, I'd love to just do this for the sake of reminiscing on past roleplaying experiences. If you do not want to use one of your old characters, then make a new character on the spot and connect him/her somehow to a past character (any past character) from SRPG/WON. I miss WON.

Not that it really matters at this point, but this thread is NOT strictly canon (although if you so desire, as I do, you can pretend in your mind that it is canon to WON's storyline at least somewhat) so whatever happens here does not mean it is a part of WON's story in the future. However, please do follow the storyline of WON up to its last plot development (The War to End All Wars Event) if you wish to reflect on past events and how they relate to your character's current state of being.

IC:
A heavily-clothed man slowly strode across the stone path up to a lonely hill, taking in the fresh air around him. The air was light of wind and crisp. He could not remember a day as pleasant as this. For a long time, all that the man could think of was the letter he had received several weeks prior. The wind picked up suddenly as he slipped out the letter. Rereading it brought back many nostalgic thoughts.

-----

Hello Brother,

It has been a while since I last contacted you. You know that over the last twenty-three years, situations beyond even our control have forced me to limit my contacts with everyone, including you. Know that it is not my wish to see you suffer like this. Even loyal friends can make mistakes and one must learn to forgive and move on. If I have helped you understand nothing else, remember what I've just written. Sometimes it is better to forgive and forget. I've certainly done so. When I learned that Sensei was the man responsible for the death of my clan, I took my rage out and did nothing to improve the situation. I've learned from my mistakes and through time, I've learned to forgive and forget. Move on with your life, Tenma! There's no point in beating yourself up over Sensei's death. It has been over twenty years! You know better than anyone that Sensei wouldn't go out without a trick up his sleeve. Do not forget what he taught you.

Our last meeting was short-lived. The new rebellion finally took power and that is the only reason they found us. I do not believe any of our friends betrayed our trust willingly. The new rebellion simply stretched its power far enough so that even our old hiding places have been unearthed. Do not forget your friends. Not everyone can be as hard-headed as you. Only a few of us ever received training from Sensei after all.

I shall try to keep in contact with you more often, but new threats prevent me from reaching out to you with ease. If you so desire, you can find me where the moonlight's golden white light makes the dragons dance in three full moon's time. Stay safe and trust nobody but your closest friends.

-Saki

PS: Thanks for letting me borrow Hogetsu. It fully functions only under your grip, but I think I know how to make it work under my grasp now.

Tenma stowed away the letter under his heavy wrappings and reached the top of the hill, taking in the full energy of the sun's bright light. Closing his eyes, Tenma felt at peace. Peace was short lived though. A crunching of grass caught his attention and Tenma spun around, hand grasping a kunai in one hand.

"Who's there?"

"Is it...could it possibly be?!"

Another man, slightly more clumsy, strolled up the hill noticing the crimson red, signature jacket of an old forgotten friend. It had felt like eons since they had last met. All this time he had never heard about how he had been getting on, it had made him kind of sad that he had not bothered to check up on his friends even just once in a while. As he reached the top of the hill the man turned round and Ike confirmed his suspicions. It was Tenma, his old silent friend. A gust of wind blew across the top of the hill and buffeted him, nearly pulling him off his feet due to his not so good footing on the hill.

"Tenma-kun! I have missed you."

Crying silent tears of joy, Ike took off the dull cloak he had been wearing. The strange colouring of his clothing gleamed in the sunlight and it refracted off of his age old weapon of choice. Perhaps Tenma would be surprised to see that Ike had reached a new level of ninja prowess, he did not know if the news of the Jounin Exams had reached Tenma. Ike smiled as he clutched onto his sword, trying to stir up a topic of conversation. It was difficult to do when somebody who was known for not uttering even a single word was staring so intimidatingly at him.

"So..."

Hissori watched the two men from the trees above. He was strictly on reconaissance but the Raikage had instructed him to use deadly force in order to capture one of them if the meeting was short lived. The death of Kin had the villages scambling for information that would eventually surface in his wake. Locations schemes and inventories took paramount concern but Hissori was also extremely skeptical how could he have died it seems too good to be true

The wind was slowly beginning to pick upmore speed and velocity but that was not of Hissori's doing. As it was the two men were atop the hill alone not a tree in sight. Hissori was twenty eight meters to the lrft flank of hebi and the realisation of a perfect assault point was still unknown to Hissori, he would just have to flush them out should the need to engage in combat overtake him.

my options Hissori noted to himself would be to either wait for them to split up or await back up that would never arrive...looks like I play the waiting game for now

"Ike-kun..."

Tenma reached for the extra wrappings around his body with his free hand, pulling them off slowly to reveal an aged face of a former ninja. His skin was as ethereal and pale as ever and his hair still shone black with one streak of gray. He had aged surely over the last twenty-three years, but it had only increased the sagacity that he radiated now. Tenma could feel Ike's power even at their distance. Ike had grown over the years and was a respectable jounin now. Tenma had heard the reports of all the former Otogakure ninja and how they had either gone in hiding to become missing-missing nin or how they had returned to a respectable height in society. Ike was too noble, or at least Tenma believed so, to return to what most considered a corrupt way of life. Tenma had been building his reputation in the political world slowly and was hoping for immunity in civilization to pardon the 'former sins' of his past. He had little choice but to seek a good word for his real name after what happened in the Covenant. Nobody knew the truth but the new rebellion, Armonia... but those were past matters. Truth's name stood proud in society today. Only Kin's name was besmirched as a fallen enemy.

"It's good to see you again, Ike-kun. How many years has it been?" Tenma knew it was a pointless question and spoke again before he could receive a response, "I'm a wanted man now by some. It will take years before this face is seen in society as a respectable figure. The old villages are still clinging on to their former traditions. I know Kumogakure remains adamant in their goal to round up the missing Otogakure loyalists who fled. What are you doing out here? Where have your loyalties leaned upon after twenty or so years of aging and experience?"

Tenma was sure Ike remembered Tenma's past ways. Ike rarely ever heard Tenma talk so much, but Tenma was sure Ike still recalled Tenma's old flame and ferocity. Though his official title was jounin, his years of outrunning and outmatching enemies had augmented his skills beyond that of his title. His age-old nickname that spread throughout the War to End all Wars, Otogakure no Ijin, still rang clear in older men's ears. Tenma was not aware of Hissori's presence at the moment, but experience told him never to let his guard down. Tenma still held on to his kunai tightly.

"Tenma..."

Ike could not summon up the courage to tell his old friend. The fact that he had secretly defected to Konoha and sold out his many fellow Oto nin sometimes kept him awake at night. Perhaps it was for the better, but Ike felt guilty that he hadn't even repayed Orochimaru for that speck of what seemed to be kindness, taking him in. Ike had had quite an easy time clearing his name of the Oto curse, due to his connections to Hero. At first it had been un-easy, getting steely glares whenever he walked in the streets. But with Hero's help and the many good deeds he did, the people began to accept him and soon it was as if he had been a Konoha ninja all along. Ike refused to wear the village symbol though. He still kept his Otogakure headband and treasured it. It was the only remaining thing that belonged to his past life.

"I have heard very few of us Oto nin remain in this world. Perhaps somebody is coming to extinguish us as we speak?"

The wind blew ferociously once again. Ike was not used to such extreme weather, living in the almost ever sunny Konoha. Ike shuffled uncomfortably. He wondered what would happen if Tenma came to knew what Ike had done to clear his name of suspicion. With Saki seemingly disappearing without a trace, Tenma was the only Oto nin he actually knew personally. Ike let his guard down, if only for a second, to contemplate on the past. It seemed like so much had changed in such a little amount of time.

"I wouldn't be surprised... the last time I met with- ...a fellow Otogakure ninja, a team of missing ninja hunters swarmed upon us. They must have been following a tip-off. Times are cold and ruthless. People are either following orders or hunting their fellow men for profit."

Tenma stared at Ike interrogatively. Ike showed no facial expression of discordance in thought, but his body seemed to hint at it. Tenma knew familiar names would potentially rest his mind, but Tenma could not risk giving away any specifics in case Ike was being tailed or watched. Tenma thought to himself before speaking again.

"A few of our friends still live. They don't harbor old hatreds or enemies. They simply wish for peace. The oafs who cling onto old traditions don't see this as truth. They still hunt us. What about you?"

Tenma beckoned Ike to follow as he continued to walk, placing his wrappings around his face again.

"What has become of you? Where did you go after the fall of Otogakure? And though this is not as relevant, what has lead you to the outskirts of Kusa no Kuni (the Land of Grass)?"

Tenma naturally had no idea that Ike's new home was just southeast of Kusa no Kuni. The wind suddenly grew louder as it created a lucky cover for HIssori to follow after them.

ooc: wow im truly hurt, nobody told me about this. im literally on the verge of tears from nostalgia, lol

Footsteps crunched up behind the two, as a figure walked out into the open, coming up from behind them. he wasn't trying to hide his presence at all, he was not giving off any type of threatening aura about him. He held up his hand, waving ever so slightly.

"oy, Tenma.........................."

The voice of a younger man shouted, only sounding to be about in his young twenties. He wore an all black cloak, with a hood over his head, masking most of his traits. At his right side was a straight sword, with a bulky silver handle, as if it had something hidden inside it or something. At his left side was an all black, and all too familiar sword, Tensa Zangetsu. The spitting image of Kin was waving to them now, as if ripped out of the past and spat right back into the world.

Hissori froze in his position in the tree line. A third figure had joined the group and he was holding a weapon in his hand. He had sent word before he left to track tenma that should he not send word through his summoned falcon that everything was alright to bring a squad to investigate. Hissori felt as if he would need that backup now.

Slowly Hissoru began to count out his options. This was by far a bad situation for him. Fighting was by far the worst of his options. It was essentially a three on one and at least one of those men was more than capable of destroying Hissori, that man was tenma and Hissori cringed at the thought of fighting the man.

Running away was now also not a great idea. He would have to be silent which was impossible

"Tenma, I-"

Ike looked at the once great ninja now forced to keep himself on the run due to the countless misdeeds of others. It wasn't fair. Tenma had done nothing wrong, he had just survived. They had all been forced to run the errands of Orochimaru, or else they would be killed. It wasn't their fault that millions died. It was Orochimaru's. And even now, he had escaped all this punishment. He had created such a mess and left all of them to pay for it. And the other villages were just as blind as well. One would think that a village built on the grounds of morals and kindness would strech out their hands to their old enemies. But instead they hunt them down to extiniction. Ike stopped.

"Tenma, I live in Konoha now. It didn't take much for me to clear my name because of Hero. I'm sorry it's like this. You are a wanted man while I sit back and enjoy life. It isn't fair that this is happening to you. Maybe if you can come with me, I could-"

Ike then turned around as he heard the crunching of grass underfoot. He readied his broadsword in case somebody had followed them. But a young figure stepped out in front of them dressed in black garbs. Ike hadn't seen someone where so much black since...

It couldn't be...

Ike-kun resides in Konoha now. Konoha is his and my original home, I should have expected no less.

Tenma had still been walking when Ike stopped, but when Ike froze in mid-sentence, Tenma spun around too, a second kunai now in hand. He had slipped it almost out of thin air with the grace and experience of a man constantly on the run for his life. He had one too many experiences with near-death to go out so easily. The sight ahead did not make him lower his guard.

It's just another illusion. Stop these illusions!

Ike could see him too though. Why else had Ike stopped? Was this another trick of the eye for Tenma? Tenma had been seeing hallucinations of Kin, Kinachi, Kontan, and Vreselijk since the fall of Otogakure. He had always managed to ignore them. Was this some genjutsu that was affecting them both then? Surely Tenma could fend himself of genjutsus with ease now. If it wasn't genjutsu, then something was different about this Kin from all his other hallucinations. Ike could see him too. Also, Tenma had never seen that bulky, second, silver sword in Kin's other hand. What was it?!

"Ike-kun, get back!"

Tenma rushed forward, standing between the two. From under the hood, Tenma could see just a small bit of Kin. The skin was unroughed and just as youthful as he had seen all those years ago. If it really was Kin, he'd be at least forty-two.

"Kai!"

Tenma let out a burst of chakra that rushed forward at Kin to release any genjutsus masking his appearance. Tenma was very weary of that straight sword in his right hand. If only he had Hogetsu right now.
