The beat of drums in the deep...it roared through the bitter rain. There was no wind, just straight down rain, it was like standing under a shower, massive pellets of rain smashing down everywhere. It was the heaviest down pour most of these ninjas had seen in a while. As the tree's parted and the army burst through, gasps and chatter ran amongst the Leaf and Cloud ninjas. These were no Sound ninjas, they were not even humans. General Komitowa lifted his fist, signalling for the archers to ready their fire, they all lined their shots up and held their arrows back. The orcs approached and formed a line before the fort, growled, smashing their hammers to the ground and making all sorts of battle cries. Till some kind of signal amongst them from a large gold armored one seemed to unify then into one grand battle cry, the ones wielding massive weapons smashed the tail ends to the floor, just as those wielded single weapons banged them to their armor or shields. The sight of thousands of orcs all raging in a battle cry as the line of humans looked to them from the fort's shooting holes, holding their arrows, ready to set loose hell. Suddenly a young ninja lost his grip, the terrifying sight of the orcs made him lose sense, an arrow shot off into the crowd, less than the arrow's shaft length, more arrows followed. The battle started with that one boy's shot. The old general Komitowa shot his hand forward and yelled out, the fort's main door dropped down letting out the foot soldiers to the battle field. Far off the Sound ninjas heard the raging battle begin, an old man, similar to the leaf general Komitowa stood up, his name was General Shuntou. He did not raise his voice, he only signalled for his army to move, and quietly they did so, through the woods. Till they broke to the battle, and then they charged as well, joining the three way battle. (okay this is my actual rp post). Tatsujin heard the battle raging above head, he and four of his fellow experimented ninjas sat guarding this empty room. It felt like such a massive insult, bioengineered super soliders...made to guard a single storage room, but this was no regular room. It was as an important location, if this room collapsed, the entire fort would come crashing down, this fort had been in many battles, and in many of them enemies had attempted to plant bombs down here. Due to this, only personnel with special clearance were allowed past the second basement of the fort, because if a bomb was set off anywhere below there, the effects could topple it in one fell swoop. There were actually another three floors below this one, but if they wanted to go deeper into the fort to plant the bomb (which was unnecessary anyway, as this room was the easiest to get to, and due to the fort's structure must be passed through to go deeper), they'd have to deal with Tatsujin and his crew of four super enhanced soldiers. Waiting outside the room was another boy named Kuro, Tatsu wasn't told why Kuro had to guard the door, but oddly he didn't have the clearance to actually enter the room. "go up" "what?" "go up" Tatsu repeated. "I can guard this room myself, plus the kid outside the door seems strong, if we die here, then most of us might as well die in an actual battle." "you sure..." "I'm always sure." None of them gave him a second glance, they all left through the door, pushing past Kuro on the way up, to enter the actual battle. They were defying orders now, but to them the only orders that mattered was their team leader's. summary: Kuro and Tatsu are guardining the bomb target room. ooc: just to add this in. the orc's use mostly large weapons like axes, hammers, clubs, maces, etc. maybe a small few will use large swords, and higher ranked ones will use small round explosives that are basiclaly throwable exploding tags. They may often carry hand axes for throwing as well. |

Konoha's Wave
|
The ninja were signaled now, and it was their time to do their job. The ninja waved out towards their respected positions, for either protecting or fighting. Suddenly Hero came out of his respected posture and went along with the orders and walked forward at the edge of the forest and towards a clearing in which he would keep an offensive hand on the area. He walked with a strict posture and ease. The rain poured down on him, which made him relax. It was a great feeling to be in an area with a lot of water which was great for this feud, especially for him. He did not charge, nor fret in this weather, he basically moved. He looked around as the basic ninja were running past him, with swords and kunai ready with anger and fear on their faces. Hero admitted to himself this would be a harsh battle, but it would need to be done for the ninja world. Hero nodded to a ninja about to run next him, and then ran launched off with him for a few feet, reassuring the nervous ninja. Everyone is nervous, I can see why, but they need to calm down, and think it through. Hero slowed down and unlatched his cloak and pulled out a green scroll and opened it. The scroll released as it was opened, and his cloak disappeared, and with that gone, a chuunin vest laid in his hand. He pulled it over his basic ninja outfit, and zipped it up. His head band was placed firmly on his forehead and cheeks, which was almost an exact copy of the Second Hokage's head band. This head band was in honor of the Second, for his water usage to the community of Konohagakure. Hero rested his arms on Shikon's sheath; his katana. The rain now poured along his bare forearms, hands and very clean chuunin vest. His black attire, did not change in the rain though, but merely became tighter, but not too tight. Yet, the water on his body, lifted and soothed him into a very calm state of power, energy and clarity. He came across a few other ninja, including a ninja he has not seen for a few years, possibly four; Kisuke. He nodded to himself and shifted his direction and darted to his left and found himself not too far from Kisuke, a feared Jounin of Kumogakure. He looked at Kisuke; "Kisuke-san, it has been a while." Hero said with a plain, emotionless voice, yet with a smirk. He dropped the smirked and almost stopped as the tree line was about to end, and orcs were flustering around in the clearings ahead. He looked at Kisuke and back into the clearing, instantly. He was not sure weather or not, Kisuke would possibly work with him during this time, but both being high leveled ninja, it would be a great combination, to get things done. He knew that they may need to be apart for now, and possibly go solo until the time is needed, and in this case he realized that. "Shall we spread out, or send out a wave to hit them solid, in small portions, then fan out. Being spread out would cause vulnerability, so hitting them with some ninja, in the core, then going from their, maybe good. First we should test their abilities, have any ideas; Kisuke-san?" They needed to first test these 'things' by possibly luring one or two of them out by themselves and taking it on. But Hero was needing Kisuke's view before hand. This is war, and strategy is one things that should be done, unless inevitable. Hero's hands gripped the butt of the katana, and the handle of his dagger located on the right side of his waist. It was a basic motion, in which when both would be pulled out they would make a deadly attack. He let them go, since he was just basically checking the fluid motion of the release when he needed to take them both out. It was an auto thing for him to do, when check his weapons and such. He lowered his head, then raised it again while watching the movements of the enemies in the distance and around them. -------------------------------------- A new ninja had stepped into the thick, dense forest. He knew what to do by his debriefing and such from the others. It was basic war from his studies, in which he was set onto a position by his abilities. His white clothes were a bit clearer now but the material they were made out of, made it less vulnerable to the water from the rain. He walked out around the base and kept his eyes open and sense on the line. He clenched his fist and was ready, he pulled out his double edged blades and held it firmly. Looking at the other ninja near by on guard he bowed his head and walked forward to get a better range, since ninja were already around the base itself enough. So he decided to move out a bit and station where he could be of more use. Suddenly a ninja from Kumogakure ran up and patted him on his shoulder and smirked. Ninja: "See you when this war over, Gun." "Thanks Rai...how is----" Gun's words were cut off when Rai went darting forward to get to his post. Gun sighed and stopped when he was a good range out from the base to keep guard. His grip on the blade's handle increased, and the sharp edges seemed to glisten from the water dripping off of them. Gun looked around and watched ninja flock with nervousness, fear and passion for their countries. Konoha and Kumo ninja seemed to fight with pride and dignity, because they knew what was on the line. Gun has not had real experience to that, but will most likely learn it from this day. First mission, first war....hell... Gun suddenly jumped up in the air and landed onto a huge tree branch about fifteen feet in the air. The forest was not too dense, but the trees were very tall and thick. Within a few minutes of walking, Gun would get to the next clearing in which the offensive ninja would be, including his comrade; Kisuke. He knew he would not see much of Kisuke, who he sees around Kumo from time to time, but from now on he has no guidence but himself. Yet the weather was great for his abilities, in which the rain and frition could come in handy. If any enemy were to come this far, they would ont stand a chance against Gun, well; hopefully. Mr. Too many AKA'z

Hissori and his assembled squad had already been moving since the start of the battle and only after hearing the cry of an un told amount of orcs did he actually stop motioning that the rest of his team stop with him. Finding a flat surface of a large boulder Hissori whisked out a procured map from his summoning scroll pocket on his updated chunnin vest and sprawled the paper upon the rock showing a deep green line that was the intended path they took to reach their objective. "Alright we all know what that sound means" Hissori announced with a slight twinge of agression in his voice, "We have been sent this way to our objective for the specific reason that we won't have enemy contact until we get within 300 yards of our objective" His team nodding in aggreance reassured him. Hissori was glad for once that this team looked balanced and strong. And for all intensive purposes it had to be. Their mission was one of absolute unknown conflict. WHom or what they faced was an absolute mystery until they would be fact to face with it and that fact only made Hissori more excited. This is a good squad...we have alot of quick paced abilities here and this thing shouldnt be against our abilityHissori took in a deep breath reaching for his water bottle and quickly taking the half-gulp that was left relishing the feel of the whickedly cold liquid pour down his throat. "At the rate we've been traveling we should be within attacking range in another three minutes if we don't break our pace from before...now if anyone has any suggestions or comments or concerns now would be the time to do so" Hissori never really liked speaking out when he felt he shouldnt but he felt justified in the fact that if anyone in his team had a valid idea he would go by it. He wasn't a leader so much as he was a map holder and he never forgot that concept. If people looked to him as the squad leader that was more than fine with him, but squabbling like a fool over control of a squad of equals in his oppinion wasn't just a waste of time, it was a life threatening mistake. Hissori broke his gaze from the map for a moment to look at his commrades to see if they had anything to say. they would be leaving immediatley after they catched their breath and their objective would be aggressivley sought after Edited by Arc Angel115, Sep 12 2008, 11:06 PM.

Lone Hunter

And so, another war begins........ Saiyuki looked around in the pouring rain, with a hood over his head as he moved into position. The rain had a calming effect on him, though that was just a personal thing. Rain did not symbolize an easy battle for either side in most conditions. He was also thinking about the previous battles that he had fought in. But this time was different. Now they were fighting against a completely different enemy and had no idea where they came from. Saiyuki actually felt easier fighting against these things, though he knew that they were once human. However, be they human or not, Saiyuki would fight against them if it meant stopping their ambition of conquest. Saiyuki observed the conditions. Visibility was not exactly great at the moment, but it was good enough. He stopped after a while. He already had all of his battle equipment on, save Reiki, which he would use later. Saiyuki had no intention of fighting like he always did. A battle could last for a long time, possibly days or even longer. He needed to the stamina to be able to last as long as possible. Saiyuki stood with his back on a tree as he looked around the tree. From there he could see orcs moving about. Then he moved back unto the back of the tree, where he remained out of the sight. Best to surprise them and then lure them into the forests......shinobi have the advantage of fighting in the shadows over warriors any day. Saiyuki wondered if that plan was sound. Indeed, while Saiyuki was experienced, he never once thought himself as a veteran and he used his doubt to help him improve his plans. Then he looked around and noticed other shinobi spaced at intervals apart, though they were not too many of them at this location. There were shinobi at other locations at well. Saiyuki's eyes then caught sight of another shinobi conversing with another not too far away from him. He too had just taken a look at the orcs. Saiyuki moved closer, staying out of the orcs' sight. Upon closer inspection, he saw that they were Kisuke of Kumo and his own friend, Hero of Konoha. Saiyuki was a bit surprised, though he moved closer to them without slowing down. It was reassuring to have the two of them here. It seemed that Hero was proposing plans to Kisuke and was asking for what path they should take against the orcs. Saiyuki caught the last set of words said by Hero as he moved in closer with them. He agreed that he needed to test them. Saiyuki then made his presence known upon the two of them. "Kisuke-san, Hero, nice to see the two of you. And if you want to test them, then it's better to lure them into the trees, where we have the advantage. If we are to choose another course, then please advise us on it, Kisuke-san." |

Does the Walker choose the Path, or the Path the Walker?
|
A war. Great battles raging on all at once, between two or more groups reaching for the same goal. Who would have ever thought a war between inhuman beings and human beings would happen in my lifetime? For sure not me.... The rain poured down on Sunagakure, making every battle ready ninja wet and angry. To Eigo, standing a few rows away from his leader, the rain was a simple obstacle that could easily be avoided. It wasn't going down to hard and there was no wind. In some ways that was good and bad. Eigo liked the wind, the soft, gentle push of air against his body, giving him power every minute. But that night there was no wind. Eigo closed his eyes, wondering what could possibly happen that night. Orcs? What are these things? I have never heard of such beings, meaning if I'm not prepared I could easily die. Die! I don't want to die. There is no way I am going to die, even if it means running from battle. I have things to do, and dieing will not help. When Eigo opened his eyes he only saw the forest and a single boy standing next to him, his hand on his forehead. "Eigo! You were daydreaming again! There is a battle to fight! Get with it!" He ran off, Eigo quickly following. The forest was dark and wet, making Eigo slip more than once. He got battered in the face with branches and leaves, leaving scratches on his face before the war even began. Eigo was tempted to use his bloodline and get to the war area faster, but he didn't want to waste valuable chakra. After a few minutes, Eigo landed in a rather large clearing, where he saw the orcs. He also saw many ninjas running around, fighting either the orcs or each other. The orcs carried large weapons, making Eigo wince a bit. He tried to find his friend but he was long gone from the area. He was all alone. He then saw an orc with a larger axe than others notice him. He unsheathed his sword and waited for the onslaught, hoping more of his fellow ninja friends would show up and help him. |

The Blood Saint
|
Takeshi stood from a crouched position and observed that the forces were beginning to break away into groups for their specific objectives. The rain dripped down his brow and moistened his face with its constant stream of liquid from the sky. He swiftly ran to the point where it seemed that the offensive team had gathered. His cloak streaming behind him until he had gotten to them, he pulled back his hood to reveal his face, he also opened it a bit to reveal the chuunin vest he wore, somehow trying to validate why he was approaching this group. He drew a kunai to his hand from his pouch in preparation and spoke to them as a whole. "It seems that I have been slotted onto the offensive team with you guys, I have only personally met you, Saiyuki-san, but I have heard of you two, Hero-san and Kisuke-san from the whispers on the battlefield. I won't even pretend to have the kind of experience you guys have, so unless I have some sort of moment of genius, I will follow where you guys lead...." Takeshi slid up next to a tree so that he would be unnoticed by the approaching enemy. He took a look around the tree and utilized his night visor's zoom function to see the incoming force better. If they were going to move on some sort of action, they had a bit of time before the orc forces were close enough for full scale battle, but they were on the march none the less. Ugly creatures, but one could just tell from their abnormal frame size that they had strength a bit more so than the average ninja, but they appeared to be not too bright. I hope we have a finalized plan soon, or else we might not have the luxury of making the first move. This day, we deal with an unknown enemy, the advantage goes to he who moves first with a solid plan. Takeshi turned back to his team and reopened his un-visored eye. They had a bit of a time buffer so he need not keep a constant eye on their advancements and he was far more interested in the thoughts and plans devised by the three. His gaze surveyed the battlefield as their forces scrambled to whichever place they were needed. Like a bunch of animals they were, only very few with the composure to calmly assume their positions. |

Otogakure's White Fang
|
Daiki slowly made his way through the forest, the rain pounding down on his body. He wore a long, blood red cloak and his hood hid his face. His dragon seal link sword lay in it's holster on his back, wrapped in black bandages, hiding it in the downpour. His face though hidden was full of malice, his breath leaving foggy imprints that the rain slashed through, and his footsteps muffled by the mud caked ground. This is it, my first true battle, the day my name becomes known or the day it becomes forgotten in the dust of crushed bones....... Daiki approached the edge of the forest, his eye's traveling across the already progressing battle. He had simply followed the one he respected most, Saiyuki, his sensei. His black hair hung in front of his face and despite the little relation, he was almost an exact copy of Tenma, but different, his face wasn't as gaunt looking, his eyes not as hollow, full of life, determination but he looked similar, someone could easily tell they were related. Though Daiki did not approach the group of higher ranked shinobi, the other two were intimidating, whether they knew it or not. Two high ranked shinobi standing there with aura basically powering off of them, an air of power forcing Daiki to stand still. He knew that his presence would be sensed by the three, his chakra signature barely masked and even though he was aligned with them, he was still slightly scared, simply of what they might do to him if they happen to have a grudge against his cousin, Otogakure No Ijin. I'll just await orders and then we can get started.............. |

Oh, you saucy temptress...
|
OOC: I guess I'm the first one to post for Oto/Suna? v_v IC: No rain could stain his clothes, no downpour could alter his expression. No external source of liquid would near him. The natural heat resonating from within was far too great. Next to General Shuntou, Tenma was possibly one of the highest-ranked ninjas assigned to this war-mission. However, none gave off such an aura of cataclysmic terror like him; even General Shuntou. Even the Otogakure nins would utter a word or two about Otogakure no Ijin. "May God have mercy on the soul who must face him..." Darkness had covered the land now. Fear, bloodlust, and savage brutality filled the moonlit sky and the fact that there was no wind made the situation seem even more eerie. Even an element feared the events that were about to transpire. The battlefield grew close now. Otogakure and Sunagakure alike remained silent, ready to strike with superhuman skill. Then it began. Orc and nin alike fell with the single swipe of the Legendary Tensa Zangetsu. They were but mere drones and Tenma knew all about them from his mission with Ki. They posed no threat to him. Besides, this was but the beginning. The big guns wouldn't be pulled out until the simple minded pawns of war exerted their last ounces of energy. Tenma refused to be a part of the endless chain of failure like most of these ninjas around him. He had a task of his own and he'd see to it that it was completed. If successful, he could literally spark a genocide of all the Konoha and Kumo nins within the fort, severely plummeting the enemy forces' numbers. In fact, Tenma could do this without the use of man-made materials. His explosive jutsus would be deadly in such a place like this. Tenma slipped within the fort and made his way through, using the adrenaline-blinded nins' headstrong bull-rushes into battle to his advantage. None would stand in his way of completing this task... even his own sensei. Edited by Demonicus, Sep 13 2008, 04:47 AM.

A brilliant failure
|
Rain, from where Vldorian stood, wasn’t that comfortable. He loved rain even if he lived in the desert. The only factor that stood in his way from liking this rain was that he was standing next to a human torch that kept half his body dry. He was the only one that would talk to him most likely and he would not expect a reply, he never replied. “Tenma-san, you should brighten up a little. You will never get any friends that way… Well either way I have something to do, see you after the war.” Many of the Shinobi around them were surprised with horror that he talked to this man that none of them would. He knew his little joke would not daunt Tenma in the lightest but either way he would continue to mess with him, until he said something to him. It would most likely be something smart and he would not like it but whatever. He waved and vanished into the rain. Destroy a bunker that was his goal, simple right? He doubted it would be as simple as his orders. It would help them win the war and the enemy knew it, either way the orc’s seemed to be, from what they knew, fighting more towards its destruction then to its survival so that might make his task a little simply. He came to the main battlefield and saw a huge disarray of confusion and turmoil. “I guess this is a home to us Shinobi. Welcome home guys.” He spoke to any and every ninja there today even though none heard him. |

It's called Ice For Life baby!
|
Rikatu moved in position in front of Hissori. He looked at the squad around him. They all look like strong shinobi, and it wouldn't take long to get where we where going with this team. Ok, this is getting tense. If i don't see some action soon I'm going to snap! Rikatu's hood was on and back in the village he changed the color to camo so he would blend in. If he wore his usual coat he would stick out like a cloud in an empty blue sky. The rain pounded on his coat which was keeping him slightly dry, but the rain was very poring down. There was no way you couldn't get wet! Hissori finished with his leader things and turned to us. Rikatu was ready for anything that was ahead, but he didn't exactly hear what they where fighting. He missed that part by dousing off in the briefing. But that's what you get for being lazy. He had heard rumors of some sort of beast charging to somewhere. But what ever, Rikatu was pumped. "I'm ready. Are we good to go?" |
