OCC: This battle is non-canon. The location is on a great mountain. The terrain can vary from a snowy field near the peak, rocky cliffs or a lush forest. We can agree on ideas for crazy terrains if need be. The weather is mostly cloudy and average wind speeds. It has just rained (snowed on the peak). We'll start around the middle part of the mountain. Well, have a good fight and have no problems come up (yeah, we agreed to it all already).

Saiyuki had been taking a nap on a tree branch. When he had started to take his nap, the sky had been sunny. Now it was cloudy, though Saiyuki could see rays of the sun breaking through the clouds. Saiyuki noticed that it had rained, but being on one of the lower branches of a great and ancient tree more or less shielded Saiyuki from the rain as he took his nap. Saiyuki guessed that the sun would gradually start to break out. Saiyuki stretched out his limbs as he leaped off the branch and unto the softened dirt. The rain had made it softer than it usually was and one could slip from it. He was near the outer parts of the forest, and in the middle of the mountain. If Saiyuki decided to walk towards the edge of the forest, he would be able to see the rocky cliffs of the mountain. However, Saiyuki decided to climb up. This central part of the mountain wasn't steep, though towards the top, it would to get a lot steeper. For now, Saiyuki could leisurely hike his way up the mountain. He kept his senses on full alert and was ready to respond to anything if there were any other people here or any dangerous beasts looking for their dinner. But Saiyuki's stride seemed easygoing, without a care in the world. But this was just to lure in anyone who was shadowing him. A vague smile was on Saiyuki's face as he walked on.

"Nice mountain.....just as my Masters described it....."

"Hi there, nice day for some hiking isn't it?"

Ike stood on the mound above Saiyuki, which was also few feet away from Saiyuki, who had probably stopped by now. He liked coming up here sometimes to be alone by himself just for a while. He had never met anyone up here until today, and the person he had happened to meet was from an enemy village. Ike smiled at him, hopefully he would be kind enough to just continue without causing a fuss but perhaps not. Ike ripped his broadsword out of the snow covered ground and held it on his shoulder like he normally did. He smiled once again.

"Now, may I be as kind as to inquire your name?"

An Otogakure shinobi.....

Saiyuki stopped as he saw another person here, which surprised him. The people in his clan told him that no one ever came to this mountain. Saiyuki then noticed how he drew his weapon, a broadsword, already. Saiyuki sighed. He did not expect to see an enemy here. But seeing as there was, Saiyuki wasn't exactly going to hike along with him. After all, no one knew what an Sound shinobi would be thinking about. Saiyuki might even lose his life if he decided to trust Ike and let him go, which was the equivalent of letting a poisonous snake back in the wild and giving it another chance to kill the one who let it go. Saiyuki threw up a scroll into the air and he jumped up as the scroll unleashed its contents in a puff of smoke. Then Saiyuki landed on a ground higher than Ike's with his grieves on. Saiyuki noticed the snow on the ground. They were not exactly high up yet, so the snow combined with a little rain would make the terrain easy to lose one's footing on. Saiyuki smiled. It would be a good chance to see how he would do against another enemy. To symbolize the start of a battle, Saiyuki took out a few needles and threw them at Ike as fast as he could without using anything but pure physical skill and strength.

"It is rude to ask for another's name without giving your own.....But that is alright. There is no need for the dead to know my name."

Hmm, this guy doesn't seem to fit in with the other Oto shinobis that I've seen.......

"Hmm...you certainly seem confident in your abilities mystery man."

Ike recognised a signature opening of battle when Saiyuki reached for something, mostly likey something pointy that could hurt poor Ike. He reacted immediatly and jumped to the side, dodging all of the needles. The ninja sure did look confident about himself. Ike would show him that he would need a lot more than sharp, pointy needles to take Ike down. Ike tutted as he paced about the snowy mountain.

"You know...I think you've got a misunderstanding of why I am here. But there isn't any point in talking to you is there? Even if we were old friends, you would insist on this fight wouldn't you? There is so much that being in a different village can do for you...mostly bad things. I hope once this fight is over, you realise one of the most important things about being in your village. It's why I am still in Otogakure, as a matter of fact."

Ike smiled at Saiyuki as he took a step forward, before dashing towards him at a sudden, suprising speed. The ground was difficult, yet not impossible for Ike to run on. He would reach Saiyuki indefinitely and then smash his broadsword into his side. That was without factoring in that Saiyuki might be able to dodge or not allow Ike to even reach him. Ike could only think as to what his opponent was planning.

"Oh? But this mountain has a legendary history behind it. You do not come here without being prepared for a fight."

That being said, Saiyuki had been fully prepared for a fight everytime he came here, though he had never met anyone else here until now. This meant he had all his battle equipment out, save his flute and his nodachi. This mountain had been used as the place where a few selected masters competed. Of course, Saiyuki and Ike had not met that level of power yet, but nevertheless, the mountain that they were on was quite famous for its many legendary battles. Another surprising fact was that no one had ever died on this mountain either. But while he would honor this tradition, Saiyuki would fight to kill, and if the time came to deal the finishing blow, Saiyuki would spare him. But he doubted that such a thing would come easily as he watched Ike jump to the side and then come to attack Saiyuki with his broadsword. He was a bit surprised that Ike could wield it so easily, but he guessed that broadsword was more easier to wield than others, judging from Ike's build, which did not look like a taijutsu's user. Saiyuki then prepared to meet the attack.

"Hey, how good are your sword skills? To come charging at others like that, you must be quite confident."

Saiyuki then kicked up snow and dirt high into the air as he leaped over Ike, who had come charging at Saiyuki with his broadsword. The snow and dirt did well in hiding most of his body as he jumped over Ike. He had dodged at the last second, leaving less room for Ike to defend after he attacked. The snow and dirt could also very well get into Ike's eyes. Saiyuki then threw down 5 needles as he passed over Ike's head, out of range from any attack from Ike's broadsword. Saiyuki wondered what Ike would do to defend. Then, as Saiyuki landed several meters away from Ike, he threw a kunai with an exploding tag attached to it at Ike, detonating it before Ike had any chance to hit it away. Ike could be caught off guard, so this explosion had a good chance of hurting him. Of course, nothing could be decided so easily, so Saiyuki got into a ready position as he watched the smoke start to clear. It would be hard to do a sneak attack, as any chuunin would be able to detect the sounds of footsteps on the snow, unless Ike had a way of walking on air like Saiyuki did.

From the looks of it, your movements do not seem to be of one specialized in the taijutsu arts....so I guess your proficiency lies elsewhere.....well, why don't you show me what you got?

Ike would not fall for such an easy trick as he swivelled round, blocking the possibilty of being hit in the eyes with snow. It was easy to do, given he already had the momentum from swining his broadsword. Using that momentum once again he swung the braodsword over his head, not to damage Saiyuki but to block the needles that were raining down from above. 3 clashed against the sword but 2 grazed both his arms and left light cuts. It would be dangerous to leave them out in the open on this snowy mountain. Ike would have to cover them up sooner or later. As Saiyuki sailed through the air Ike already had a plan of action.

Taijutsu is not my speciality but that doesn't mean I can't damage him with it.

Ike then dashed forwards as Saiyuki just released the kunai from his hand. Ike had already added chakra to his broadsword and a shining light attached to his arms and legs. Black gauntlets and grieves appeared as he continued dashing straight for the kuani, holding his arm up to deflect it. Saiyuki had to be quite quick with the release and certainly wouldn't expect Ike dashing right to it. It spun off a little to the side and blew up, causing heat to rush to Ike's face. Ike had ran past most of it but his left arm had been caught in it a bit. Luckily the gauntlets reduced the damage to his hands and a bit of his arm, so only the skin was slightly burned, though not enough to impair movement. The sudden change from heavy broadsword to light gauntlets and greives had increased Ike's speed and would add an added suprise to his attack on Saiyuki, which was punching him in the face.

Interesting change.....but coming this close to me......

Saiyuki merely smiled as Ike suddenly sped up due to his change of weapon. Saiyuki sighed as he closed his eyes. When he opened them, they were shining. Not needing any movement at all, Saiyuki made his zone change its shape. Its normal shape was a like a tornado swirling around Saiyuki. Saiyuki now changed it so it was like a wall extending from his body forward. Then he heavily concentrated the zone, making it smaller than it usually was. The result would be that Ike running into this wall of gravity will greatly slow down, perhaps even hurting himself. The punch wouldn't hurt Saiyuki at all. It would be like an invisible wall, except due to the amount of concentration, it was somewhat visible. But with Ike's rush at Saiyuki, Saiyuki doubted that Ike would be able to change direction so quickly. Saiyuki then took out a gravity bomb and threw it as Ike came. Since Ike would be slowed down by the gravity (it would feel like Ike's body suddenly got heavier) and he would be surprised by the dramatic change in gravitation, it would allow the attack to succeed. Ike would be arriving quite soon, so the gravity force bomb would be hard to evade. The effect of being hit of one of those would be equivalent to a strong taijutsu attack. Then to finish Ike off, Saiyuki's other hand whipped up another kunai with an explosion tag to damage Ike even more.

A simple punch? There's got to be more to you than this......
