I LOVE TO SUCK THOSE TINY ICICLES!
Takai stood in the harsh cold wearing nothing different than his usual fighting attire. He had no need for wearing extra layers, this was his element, everything was playing into his advantage. The wind was blowing down the chasm ahead of them and it was chilling those around him to the bone. His eyes surveyed the area around, cliffs either side and a narrow pass. That was a no go area, if there was anything that screamed trap then it was that. Takai brought the cross around his neck up to his mouth and kissed the silver piece of jewellery. It vibrated as he kissed it and he closed his eyes as he listened to the wind roar around him. It was a chaotic place, the wind bitterly cold, sending snow flying around. Temperatures were ridiculously low and it seemed any contact was painful for most. Takai tightened the fastenings around his wrists and placed the plaster under his eye to cover a scar. His black cloak dancing in the wind, the material billowing in the wind.

...Once again we fight for our Kages, we fight to preserve the glory of our nations...Regardless of who this affects, we are sent out as tools of war and we behave like we were programmed...To kill and to kill as many as we can...We are an army of two hundred strong one men armies...Who will I see opposite me this time...Hero...Seisho...Hissori...Know this...Fight to kill or do not fight at all...

Takai's gaze fell across the shinobi around him, those he had chosen to watch over specifically. Hayashi had handled himself well and Takai took in his information, he nodded towards him and said "Make it so". His eyes wandered through the group spotting Akira and Sakyuu discussing strategies and other potential manners of how to fight. The solitary Ike and Ginji, both awaiting what it is that they will encounter. Both here, ready to die for the nation. He saw Ki and Taeko, she was ushering him over and offering her hand to him. Takai's eyes became slightly smaller, but he then turned away. He looked down towards the snow and then up towards the sky above. It was nearly impossible to tell the difference, as they were blanketed above and below. Takai's right hand clenched into a fist and he stepped forwards and look into the chasm ahead of him.

...It is a trap...Send them round the sides whilst I cause a diversion...hey are through that pass and this land is so similar we will have to be careful not to become separated...Pull the cliffs down, no not strong enough for that...Send them around the cliffs and attack that way...As Hayashi said we could trap the pass, but that wouldn't be possible now...

"Ki...Taeko..." Takai made a point to not even look at the two of them, but continued to stare forwards into the chasm. "Taeko, form a boulder of about six by six by six...Ki you will propel it forwards with your sound and amplifying arm...The rest of you divide into two forces and travel towards the edge of the cliffs...Do not progress forwards until the boulder has rolled down and done what is needed...We will attack from the sides, the main force being split and as the rock rolls down it will explode because of this..." Takai pulled out an exploding tag and held it ready. "That way if they have placed any tags there, they will be destroyed and the explosions will cause an avalanche of sorts and will throw snow everywhere. They are above us, but they will not be able to see us as the snow shields us...I will travel through the pass and as will any others willing to follow...Watch out mainly for ranged attacks, they will look to use the elevated position to their advantage...We will have to burst through the uprooted snow as quickly as possible...When Hayashi gives the command retreat..."

Takai walked towards Hayashi and patted him on the back and whispered several sentences to the Oto shinobi and awaited his approval. He didn't look at Taeko, but told her to produce the boulder. He knew she could manipulate the Earth around them into a boulder, the cliff being an example of some rock at least being here. Takai stepped ahead of the group, not looking at any of the shinobi as he walked forwards. Hitting Taeko on her shoulder with his, he twisted and held Zangetsu over his shoulder.

"I am not going to produce another rallying speech...It is not the time for that now...Fight for those you hold dearest...Now, let us begin what we came here to do..."

"A vineyard is useless to me unless its a wine vineyard."

Zen chuckled and regained his composure. Zen was awaiting for conflict to erupt, Zen was a very paitent man usually but was on edge about this fight. Zen tried to ease himself into a trance like he usually does when nervous. Zen sneezed, that is the reason why he despised plants...allergies.

Konoha's Wave
Ki jumped off of the boat and landed on the compacted and snowy ice land, right beside Taeko. He looked at her and she insisted they do this, and she put her hand up for a salute or reassurance. Ki picked his left hand which was not cold and grabbed it tightly and nodded to her with a convincing look of confidence.

"Yes we can Taeko-kun, let us win this for not only our countries but for ourselves too."

Ki said as he shook the hand up and down in the position of am arm wrestling match. He let go and then looked ahead, as various ninja ran around. He noticed a lot of the ninja that were with them go ahead. He then turned on his radio and his the microphone to hear it, and it was set. Ki pointed to her radio and nodded. Suddenly the wind picked up and his hair blew slightly and his body was still a bit warm due to the gear he had put on before leaving the boat. The air was as crisp as dry ice, and it seemed as though they needed to keep moving to stay warm. He pointed again and then moved his arm forward, as in a 'move-out' kind of motion. He then ran forward, knowing that Taeko would follow, so that they could get a move on, and find infiltrate as their mission was told to do.

"Head this way, Taeko-kun."

Ki said in a polite and fast manner and started to wonder where to go, but since the boat was behind them, it was easiest to go straight forward away from the boat. Yet, suddenly Ki stopped and looked at Takai, how just started to talk to them. Ki looked at him, as he told a plan for a front on attack, so to speak. He looked at the cliff and envisioned the plan.

"Taeko, form a boulder of about six by six by six...Ki you will propel it forwards with your sound and amplifying arm...The rest of you divide into two forces and travel towards the edge of the cliffs...Do not progress forwards until the boulder has rolled down and done what is needed...We will attack from the sides, the main force being split and as the rock rolls down it will explode because of this..."

"Got it, Takai-san. Ready Taeko-kun?"

Ki asked as he nodded to Takai and then looked at Taeko and awaited her response, to do her earth technique, and if she does that, Ki will shortly after use his sound to propel those rocks the way he was ordered to. But right now the snow seemed to be pilling in faster, and the temperature was decreasing steadily. They would have to react soon, unless they wanted to be frozen to death or immobilized.

"Good Kintaro...Zen...lace the insides of the cave with mud nd ready to create a solid shield before us..."

He commanded puffing up some smoke from the cigar as he looked to the mouth.

"Kintaro...build more plants and just let them rest..."

Bakuto had a plan and as long as they stayed int he back of the cave they would be safe. He had a plan for a very special guest...

Zen nodded to Bakuto's command and began creating mud in his palms and spewed the mud all over the cave walls. This task was a menial duty to Zen since, mud was second nature. Zen slowly covered the walls with mud, the cave became damp, dark and was able to conserve more body heat. Zen had no idea what the foreigner was thinking but did not disagree to this planning.

"The task is done."

As Zen sprayed the mud along the walls, Kintaro's plants were covered. They slowly made their way out of the mud and were back to the way they started.

"Plan eh? What do you have in mind" Kintaro said facing Bakuto.

Kintaro then walked into the maze of tall plants. He knew his way around and ended p in the front of the cave. He peeked his head out and looked around for any enemies, possibly any members of his village too. Nothing, just snow and wind. The wind whipped his face and turned his nose red. He then walked back through the plants and exited out to where his team was.

"Nothing" Kintaro said solemnly. He laid down next to the camp fire and took off his coat as he was getting a little warm due to the fire. He tucked his backpack under his head as a pillow and closed his eyes. He thought about the outcomes of this mission. Either he dies, or he becomes a hero. Either way, if he does good in this event, he will be respected much more then he is right now.

Ugh, I'm getting tired in the heat of battle... I should be awake and alert until an enemy approaches. His eyes started to close and eventually he was passed out.

About fifteen minutes had passed by, and it seemed the majority of the people were accepting Kin's orders as if from a superior officer. He ran through the crowds of shinobi pointing in directions and yelling out orders. The crowd was livlier than ever, people running everywhere, Kin had little more authority than Nickel, but he somehow had an instinct for the job, almost as if he was given the position, it felt like he had done it before. As Sena approached him and asked Kin, nodded assuringly back to him.

"you can head out with the stealth perimeter, you look fast enough for the job." Kin said, then continued walking and raised his voice up again.

"I need the stealthiest an fastest movers, head seven clicks out every direction, 12 clicks between each group, three man teams only. If there is so much as a whisper out there I need one to ehad back and warn us, and the other two to head to the other groups to tell them to return! Fast and stealthy! Don't wait to sign up, just head out!! I need long range in the front to secure a--"

Kin's sentence was cut off as a hand grabbed his shoulder, he turned around to find Tatsuoka.

--"long range in front...that's an offensive maneuver"

"so?"

--"you said it yourself, this is not time to be on offense."

"not in the way he wanted, I know what I am doing."

--"me too, but it's extremely risky what your trying to pull."

"who are you anyway."

--"the one person who has authority over you, I'm sure the told you someone like me would be aboard."

"figures...but I can do this, you know I've done it before."

--"no doubt you'd probably win, cuz your strategy gives us the best chances.....but it also puts more lives on the line. Your a good strategist, but you show little regard for how many lvies are wasted, this isn't your old town kid."

"You can't just--"

--"I am ordering you to take a defensive maneuver. Otherwise I will reveal my identity as commanding officer of this operation...in which case I will not be happy, and by extention, nobody will."

"grrr......fine"

Kin turned back to the crowd and began formulating a new strategy.

"I need best jutsu defensives in the front, and best close range fighters stocked up behind them. All long ranges in west, east and southern areas, once they make contact with our close range i want them getting hell from all angles at such a distance that they'll have no option for movement!!"

Rikatu was wearing his white snow village coat, a blue t-shirt, and green snow village pants. Rikatu looked around and saw Garnet who had been introduced to him earlier. Rikatu walked over and talked to him.

"Hey... Garnet right? Rikatu. We meet back in to bottom of the ship remember? We should pair up and stuff."

Rikatu had finally found someone to talk to and hang with during the really bad parts of the mission. Rikatu looked around again and saw all the other ninja starting to get ready to leave. Rikatu got the mike out of his bag and put it in place on his ear and found an empty channel and told it to his partner.

"Well should we get a place near the front like the guy was yelling? ha ha, we could make a snow cave or something warm like that that is invisible in a white place like this. sound good?"

Hayashi nodded his head while Takai agreed to his plan of action then suggested another plan of action. He felt the plan would be very difficult to execute, however if Hayashi stayed back with a couple of men and explained his plan to them carefully, then they would be able to take care of the onslaught properly. He approached a group of somewhat disciplined shinobi who seemed to not have much use other than obvious battle potential and asked them over to him.

He then lay down a piece of paper in front of everyone and began to write with his chakra. Normal methods of writing would not work due to the incredibly low temperatures. What he ended up drawing was what looked to be a chess board with an even number of squares adding up to one larger square. He would be dividing the battlefield into even parts for his attack. Everything he said was going to be transmitted by microphone.

"The number of coordinates are is 64. I will be naming them off from A1 at the south western area up to H8 in the north eastern area. I need you 2 to make these dimensions. There's only 1 way to reach this camp due to the uneven ground. I need two of you to go and create the stage for this defensive maneuver. Each square must be perfectly sized so that everyone has enough maneuverability while still putting some pressure on the enemy. I think 5 x 5 foot squares should be enough. So from where I put this kunai, I need you to put 3 kunai in different places. 1 kunai at 40 feet west from here, 1 40 feet north, and then the last at 40 feet east from the one that is 40 feet north from the previous point."

Hayashi looked at the area once more, observing all the points on the battlefield then calculated that some of the hill will be necessary for this maneuver. He stabbed his kunai where it felt it would be useful then looked back to the 3 people he had chosen for kunai placing, sending them off until their job is complete.

"I will not be in the battle until they get close enough to us. Until then, I'll take an elevated position and watch from afar so that I can try to direct those who are retreating so that they can avoid the traps. I have named the groups by their headsets or by other means. Even if you're not formally a group but meet each other in battle, I will be able to move you accordingly. So please try to listen to my directive as correctly as possible. One wrong move could mean our death, however if we're extremely careful, then we can easily take the enemy out."

Thinking carefully momentarily, he then looked at the last few remaining men he asked to stay behind with him and pointed to the area that was now defined by the kunai.

"You will go and disturb the ground so that it will be difficult night impossible to actually see where the traps are. If our men can figure out where the traps are then so can the enemy. Good luck to all."

Hayashi looked over and watched as the men bowed their heads before taking their assigned jobs. He was getting nervous about the idea due to the high amount of risk involved.

Looks like this piece has now breaks. If I were to play the song of this scene myself, I'm sure I'd be sweating by now even in this horrid weather.

Takeshi had gone unnoticed when he asked to be a part of the stealth squad so he found a ninja he had partnered with before, Rikatu. He approached Rikatu slowly and called out to him with a friendly tone that could barely be heard over the wind.

"Hey Rikatu, your basically the only person I know here so I'm going to stick with you if thats okay, who else is with you?"

Takeshi crouched and awaited a response from Rikatu to see where he stood on the whole "team" situation. If he could team up with a few ninja that would put him in a prepared state, he always thought better as part of a group.
