I LOVE TO SUCK THOSE TINY ICICLES!
Kei pushed himself up out of the snow, his hair covered in the heavy white powder. He shook his head and saw the snow fall to the ground, a fleck of snow gliding on the breeze. He looked around and saw the remains of the ship gurgling in the water and the wood sinking down. He sighed as their only means of transport sunk into the icy depths below. He had hoped that it would have washed up against some shore, but he hadn't been so lucky. Sliding his knee forwards and lifting him up from the snow. He wiped the wet snow form his body and his head spun slightly as he dizzily looked around. He could see some treads in the snow and followed them. His clothes were drenched, but not for much longer. As he walked his body began to heat up and like a radiator his clothes were dried. He came across the group of shinobi from both Kumo and Konoha; leaning against a large boulder that had been launched into the ground. He had heard Nickel's speech and smiled sarcastically as he had finished.

...We are by no means ready to launch an offensive against Suna and Oto, moreover why is it us that must start attacking them...They are the more bloodthirsty of the four nations and they are always the ones more inclined to attack...This shinobi truly is not one of Kumogakure or Konohagakure, but it seems that the crowd that has massed are willing to praise his every word...They stroke his own ego and purr happily as he strokes theirs back...Wait, what! Tai...Tai, why did you...Ugh Taiteki you did well on the ship, but it looks as if that task has knocked sense out of you...The one thing we need now more than ever is time to rest and prepare...Do we even know how we intend to attack barring a stealth attack? Do we have any idea of the strength of the enemies before us? Do we have teams or groups established? The answer...No...Attacking without any solid base...We will be obliterated...

Kei walked towards the group now and mingled within the group of shinobi. Kei was looking for one shinobi in particular and he hadn't seen him since he had risen to the upper most deck on the ship they had been on. He caught the sight of Kuro and walked towards him, he didn't like the shinobi particularly too much. However if Taiteki was ever so willing to throw his life away into the hands of Nickel then Kei wished to find someone who had even a small slice of common ground. However as he came to the point, Kuro was releasing a tirade of words at Nickel. When Kuro had finished Kei smiled, the way Kuro spoke and articulated himself reminded him some what of himself.

"He is right though, for all his pomp and arrogance, Kuro is correct...This is not the correct time to be launching an offensive party...Our ship was sunk, we had to battle through blisteringly cold waters as well as numerous amounts of us saved others. We are as a group exhausted and stressed beyond all measure. The best thing we can do is simply to prepare our defences and until we are ready, pray that they do not launch an early attack...We will not survive it, look at us now, still arguing, still fighting...Disregard your feelings of ill will for each other, we need to formulate some defence...We have shinobi here that won't survive the night let alone a fight with Suna and Oto..."

Kintaro, after being near the warmth of the fire for a few minutes, regrouped with his teammates. No wonder why there is no tents... We are the offensive ones in this situation. Well i guess its better then sitting around here and freezing up.

Kintaro heard Bakuto yell that there was a cave. He pointed Kintaro towards it and it was there. Kintaro was relieved that he had someplace dry and possibly warm to fight. He didn't like that everywhere was wet and cold. He saw that the cave was built into a mountain int he middle of the island. He seemed to be a little hidden, but Kintaro could see it from where he was.

"Well done spotting the cave my friend. It seems like a perfect place to battle. We must head there immediately. Zen! lets move out!" Kintaro yelled against the raging winds blowing into his face.

Kintaro continued to walk towards the cave even if no one was following him. Nothing would stop him from getting to the dry cave.

Taiteki froze in place as Kuro's voice boomed out. He was surprised to say the least at how far Kuro thought ahead. Taiteki had only seen the Matsuro War to an extent, but he never actually fought. He had no idea about battle tactics or anything of the sort. He figured while the wounded were tending to their injuries, the able would set up a trap or something of the sort. However, Kuro seemed to have a great deal of knowledge about the Otogakure methods of attack. Whatever Nickel's strategy was, neither Kuro nor Kei bothered to hear it. Surely, Nickel's strategy about some trench had some flaws potentially, but nobody actually bothered to hear out his strategy. Kuro may have known a lot, but he was sure willing to put Nickel down as soon as possible without hearing what Nickel had to say. Any strategy right now would have been decent in their situation.

While Kuro-san handled the majority of the troops here to set up genjutsus, move people around, and whatever else he wished to do, we could have set up a defense up ahead to at least slow enemy troops down a bit while the wounded were fixing themselves up. It seems like this is more about showing up one another and screaming insults and how impressive their own brains are rather than to work as a team and figure a solution ou-... there's Kei!

Taiteki motioned to get his attention, but Kei seemed to give him the cold shoulder as he walked passed to stand next to Kuro. It seemed like Kei had the right idea about working together, but wasn't Nickel's plan initially to set up a defense anyway? Again nobody had listened to his plan through and through. Everyone was way too tense and jumpy. Taiteki spoke out.

"Okay, well then stop yelling and freaking everyone out guys. Kei and Kuro-san, I'm guessing you two will hopefully put those words to action instead of just putting Nickel-san down? Nickel-san, that trench idea of yours, that was a defense strategy to slow the enemy down, wasn't it?"

Taiteki sighed and closed his eyes for a second. The tension was too great here. The Oto and Suna forces were probably extremely organized with little tensions at all while the "technically" good shinobi here were full of arguments and tension. It made no sense to Taiteki.

Sena turned to Kazuki, his smile hidden by the mask and scarf. He reached behind his head, pulling his bow off his back and aiming it at Kazuki's head. He slowly walked backwards, moving slightly to the right. He knocked an arrow and fired it, with zero visibility. The arrow shot over Kazuki's shoulder and landed softly into the snow behind him. Sena walked forward, moving back to Kazuki, putting his bow away.

"Does that give you an idea of my skill? I'll team up with you, but right now I wanna get to the top of that ridge. It's the best vantage point and if the storm calms then we can see absolutely everything."

Sena motioned for Kazuki to follow him, taking the lead for once and head towards Kuro. He stopped near him and spoke loudly, with authority but respect.

"Kuro-san is there anything you need me to do to help with the defensive perimeter. Me and Kazuki-san were going to get atop the ridge but if you so chose we can move out farther into the storm and scout for the enemy. We'll hide in the snow or whatever it takes to find them and warn you when their coming."

Hmm.....that would be logical, though I've always liked to do surprise attacks. Anyway, we can think of that after preparing ourselves.

Saiyuki smiled at Kuro's words. It seemed that the leadership of their army seemed to waver between Nickel and Kuro. However, Saiyuki simply felt that it was reasonable to trust Kuro. He did not know the reason why, but as he thought things through, they made sense. It was quite depressing, how deplorable their forces were at the moment. After all, their ship had unexpectedly crashed. What way was there besides victory? Saiyuki carefully looked around. It would be safer to do this first. If Nickel was to do it, then he should do it with a very small amount of shinobi at his command. Saiyuki didn't understand why he would need so many shinobi to simply blow apart a trench. He certainly supported the idea though.

"Nickel, you do not need all of us. I'll stay back to hold down the base. When your plan is successful, we will move to the second phase of your plan."

Saiyuki guessed that the trench was made in order to stop the enemy from advancing. If that were to be so, then the enemy would have to find a way to get to the other side. Once the plan was successful, being obvious when it would, they would need to go forward. At that time, they wouldn't need to worry about being attacked. However, they would need to keep up the defense. They would need archers or long-range jutsu users on their side of the trench. This way, no one would be foolish to jump across. For every life lost on their side could mean several lives kept on their side. However, they were in a very passive situation right now. Saiyuki often felt this feeling while playing go against a stronger opponent. If they were only to defend, then there would be no way they could win. Saiyuki walked over to Kuro.

"It should be fine if 3 or 4 go with Nickel and the rest can concentrate on defense. However, if we will eventually lose if all we do is defend...."

Hmm, I wonder if he has a plan.....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akira was right next to Sakyuu. It seemed that the time to advance was soon coming. He wondered when the order wouid come down. They were certainly itching to fight. While Akira stayed cool and composed, others wanted to fight in order to get their mind off the freezing temperatures and the frozen winds. Akira was also moving around to keep himself warm. He had already made sure that not a piece of his skin was out in the open. However, fighting in this state was very dangerous. Akira was already thinking ahead to how he should fight. In a fight in this weather, the first strike would be vital. Since the weather was so cold, frostbite would naturally happen. If they managed to cut their opponent, then time would slow down their opponent.

These conditions may not be so bad after all......

"Okay lets try and think up some stratergies, Akira...Tell me how most of your genjutsu's work and I could think up ways to help out"

Oh, so he wants to know......hmm, well, it won't matter. I don't need secrets to win.

"It's fine. I've thought of many ways to easily help ourselves. My current skills allow me to cast illusions at will and they can be anything I want them to be. That being true, once they are caught within my illusion, it won't be easy to break. Go at max speed and simply cut them apart. The cold will finish them off. I will cover you."

Hmm...but the main problem with this is how long we can last. We can only kill so many opponents like this before I run out of chakra. Well, we should have won by then if I'm careful.

"If we meet a particularly strong enemy, then I'll have to attack, too. It shouldn't be a problem with the two of us."

Akira then promptly shut up. He realized he talked quite a bit during the last few moments. But it was necessary. While it was a little arrogant of him, Akira was still completely sure that their strategy would keep them alive. His illusions could fool even jounins, as they had worked when he battled against his shishou. However, his shishou was on a different league than anybody here, besides Takai. Akira was still careful. He wouldn't let his genius and skill get to him. He looked around. He hadn't stopped wondering yet. Then he realized that even if they began to fight, Akira certainly wouldn't rush out in the first wave. He knew their enemies weren't careless. When the true chaos began, Akira and Sakyuu would be in the center of it.

"Be ready..........."

Nevets looked at the rest and then to Saiyuki and grabbed his arm. He began to think that this was not the smartest idea

"Yo, I'm not going with them...I'm raring to fight...not waste my energy with this..."

He said quietly as he stopped walking with that group and released Saiyuki's arm. Nevets put out and offered his hand to shake.

"When the war begins...I would be honored if my old friend will fight beside me..."

He said not breaking eye contact though he had those goggles on and the wind and snow laced his face and his skin turned a bit red from the cold.

Bakuto looked to the two and ran ahead, moving fast because of his speedy kinetic energy. Bakuto looked from them once more and ran to the cave . He smiled as the examined the cave. The perfect trap. The mouth of the cave was a long wide entrance with the innards becoming a dome like area, almost like someone made this one time.

"PERFECT!"

He yelled, listening to his voice echo. Carefully he placed two playing cards in the snow and entered looking at a diminished pile of sticks once used for a fire. He pulled out a cigar and tried to light it but the lighter didn't go.

"Damnit...Damnit...Damnit..."

He cursed everytime the flame didn't start for his cig. Cursing he threw the cigar into the sticks and it combusted the whole pile into flames.

"That could work..."

He muttered getting on hiss knees with another cigar in his mouth and puffing it with that flame.

Zen, followed Bakuto and Kintaro to the cave.

"Dang, this cave is pretty big!"

Zen heard his echo and chuckled a bit. Zen observed the cave and touched the walls. The walls were smooth almost like, someone had built this cave for a purpose. None the less to Zen the cave felt like home. Both water and earth resided on the cave walls. Zen was at ease and disconnected from the harsh weather outside.

Zen's glasses had defrosted and so did his attitude.

"This cave, is quite the marvel this seems too conveniently placed, don't ya think?"

Zen placed his spear on the wall and sat down near the mouth of the cave.

"This seems more like an igloo on the outside."

Zen chuckled than regained his composure.

"So what shall be our strategy for the battles to come?"

Ginji stepped off the ship in a slow matter taking in the artic area around him. The few layers of thermal, a sleevless hoodie so the long sleeved thermal showed and his black chuunin vest over it all was good enough. The thermal kept him the warmest. The snow rushed down the skies like it was almost running from somthing. All Ginji could think about when he saw snow was his training with Takai on the mountain tops, that being his first sight of snow. it reminded him of the beauty of his country and how he would fight for it.

He walked foward looking at his comrades getting in groups and getting ready for battle. he was to slow to the chase, he has no partners yet, he hoped to find some one of talent to be his teammate.

Hmm, its about time to assemble the troops...better hurry..

Ginji started to head over to the other Suna shinobi, not knowing who he would run into, all he saw was Takai so he would probably talk to him before the fight started. Ginji stood with the others, he was assuming Takai would give another talk before they started. The frost started to form on his vest and clothes.

"..This is gonna be more then we all imagined.."

Wrath got off the sinking ship. He didnt know any one really except for Kazuki from his mission. The boat sank behind him, He just double taked and let it be. he wouldnt let it get to him. Keeping a level head would be the key. They falling boat was a symbol to Wrath, not the fact they would fall, but the fall of his enemies. He knew that it would be best to find a partner since he was a gennin, he could use some tatics.

hmm maybe i can find kazuki..

Wrath had many thermal layers and fleece hoodie. He walked around the kumo and konoha shinobi trying to find someone to team with. Eventually in the corner in his eye he saw Kazuki.

He made his way towards him and saw he was with another shinobi. he walked up to him, trying to be sociable. He lightly waved and put his hands in his pockets.

" Hey kazuki, hows it going? "

He looked over at the other shinobi and nodded towards him making him known. He put his hand out to shake trying to be friendly, because he needed comrades.

" Hows it going, Im Matsudai, but you can call me Wrath. "

The cold winds blew against his face, he could feel the chill down his spine. but that chill wasnt from the cold, it was the call of war.

OOC: I could use teamates for both my characters, so dont be shy >_>;;

Also Takai/Tenma I didnt use all caps lmfao

Taeko stepped on the snow covered ground beside Ki. It was absolutely freezing outside and for once Taeko was gland she changed her attire. Normally in Suna she didn’t wear shoes when training or on missions because she felt closer to the earth that way. She was also glad she decided to put a heavier jacket on then the jacket she wore on a daily basis. Her red fingerless gloves were now replaced with regular gloves. She looked around as others got off the boat as well. She quickly checks to make sure that her head set was turned to the right channel. Tapping it to make sure she could hear it clearly she looked at Ki again when suddenly a massive wind came through. Taeko shivered involuntarily and narrowed her eyes.

Christ this is fucking ridiculous. You would think after almost drowning in a frozen over lake that this wouldn’t affect me but it’s the complete opposite. If we aren’t careful and the other ninjas don’t kill us off the cold temperatures sure as hell will.

If you looked passed all the flying snow, incredible winds and all the other threatening aspects of nature; it truly was a beautiful place. Nothing but massive snow covered mountains and vast plains. It was a winter wonderland or possible a nightmare waiting to happen. They had a bit of a ways to go before they got to the enemy and Taeko couldn’t help but wonder how long it would take to get there with the weather conditions clearly against them. Standing on her tippy toes she looked around for Takai through the crowds of people. She knew if he had anything to say he would say it through the head set but she still wanted to know. Shaking her head she turned back towards Ki.

“You ready to do this?” For once the excitement was actually prominent in her voice. It wasn’t that she was thrilled about killing anyone but there was something about doing this. It was almost as exciting as being a thief. The adrenaline rush was swarming her head and through every vein in her body. She smirked at Ki and liftedher hand out to him. It was up in the air as if she was asking him to have an arm wrestling contest. “We can do this, right? We’ll get through it alive for Suna and Oto.” She waited to see if he would take her hand and reply. She clenched her other hand into a fist by her side to keep from shaking. Whether it was the cold or nerves she didn’t know but she was ready to fight.

Kintaro entered the cave with his team. He noticed that the cave has been perfectly structured to form a dome shape. There seemed nothing wrong with the ceiling in case it caved in on them. Kintaro walked up to the walls and pounded on them. They did not move or dent. This is going to be a good place to fight. Kintaro reached down and felt the dirt and gravel. The area was good enough for him to set up his plant field. luckily, the wind was blowing away from the cave so the wind would not be a problem.

Kintaro reached into his backpack and grabbed his canteen. "This place will be good for our battles, especially Zens since it is covered with earth and it is sort of wet. As for me i will start to grow my plant field. I will grow the plants for most of the cave except for the back part. That is where we will wait for our enemies to enter." Kintaro opened his pouch and grabbed his clan's seeds. He took one and ate it. He then focused all of his chakra into his feet to perform the plant growth.

Under his feet, a field of tall, thick plants grew. The plants were almost as high as the ceiling. The plants all leaned towards Kintaro as if he were a king of the plants or something. The plants grew on the side of the walls and stopped at the ceiling. He prevented the plants from growing into the back part of the cave. The plants stopped growing at the very front of the cave and didn't take the cold that bad.

Kintaro was hard to find in the field of plants since they were so tall and his clothes resembled a sort of sage green. Kintaro looked for his team and found them standing outside the field in the back of the cave.

"How do you like it?" Kintaro said observing his creation as if it were a piece of art.

Kintaro put his hand to his ear piece and said "Kintaro's team has just set up a trap at a cave to the north. If you have any information of any enemies approaching the cave... warn us."
