Oh, you saucy temptress...

READ!!! OOC: Okay, this is the second phase of the event. Everyone will be posting in this one thread. The first two pages or so will be ONLY for regrouping and recovery of wounds. Do NOT make contact with the enemy camp and do NOT begin a match until a mod or admin makes the initial move. Thank you. The Kumo/Konoha ship has completely been overtaken by the water and has completely sank into the ocean. The Kumo/Konoha ninjas are currently healing their wounds and regrouping. They will be setting a small camp just to aid in the healing of the wounded. They have only seen the enemy ship for a second and do not know how far the enemy is from their camp. The Oto/Suna ship has lowered its anchor and the shinobi have begun to move. Their commander, Takai, has previously set up groupings and they will be moving together as one. At this point in time, you will only be organizing and moving, NOT attacking the enemy. They are approximately at a one hour walking distance from the Konoha/Kumo camp. A mod or admin will announce the beginning of the fighting. The first phase went off pretty well. Let's keep this rolling smoothly. Nicely done, all. IC: The ship was gone. There was nothing left of their only source of shelter. The Konoha and Kumogakure shinobi were stranded until their ally ships arrived; let alone if they found them at all. Taiteki had yet to see Kei or Kuro yet after the ship had sunk and he was growing worried, especially for Kei. The genin had exerted a tremendous amount of energy and with his Kekkai Genkai being overused, he may have knocked himself unconscious. For all Taiteki knew, he could be at the bottom of the ship, sinking with it to the depths of the unknown. Taiteki wiped the thought away as he continued moving, searching for his lost ally and friend. He had dropped off the unconscious chuunin kunoichi with her other allies and still carried the near-unconscious Sena. Stopping near a medic nin, he was twice as lucky when he saw the medic nin with a novice Katon user who had made a small campfire. He set Sena down on a blanket that had previously been placed down and asked the medic nin to do what she could for him. "Thank you, I'll be back in a bit. Don't let this one go. He saved the life of another and nearly killed himself doing it." Leaving Sena to the careful and skillful hands of the medic nin (just an NPC), he continued his search. He had to find Kei and Kuro soon. They were nowhere to be seen so far. "Kei! Kuro-san!! Kuso..." The weather was terrible to say the least, making Taiteki's search even harder. There was a powerful blizzard that only the most skillful in Suiton could brave, or the most skillful in Katon could counter. Even that would take a great deal of effort with the powerful winds blowing snow into everyone's faces. It was blisteringly cold, even worse than within the ship, and their morale was sinking by the minute. He could only hope the Oto and Suna forces were fairing as badly as they were. On the contrary, the morale of the Suna and Oto forces were as high as ever... |

Bakuto looked at his comrades as they left the boat. It was cold and desolate but Bakuto only had on his ratty trench coat with his loose closing beneath it. Bakuto exited the boat before his team members but following behind Takai. "Come on Monsiuers..." Bakuto called to them with the wave of a hand as he stepped out of the ship. He smiled as they walked and looked back at the mud slinger and the gardener. Bakuto gave them their own nicknames. "Hurry up!" ===================================== Nevets sighed, he wasn't hurt from the crash but he saw that many men were. He walked forward and looked at Saiyuki and then pulled out his wallet and examined a picture that looked like it was taken recently. Nevets walked past his friend and looked around. "Sai...have you seen Hero around anywhere?" He asked. "Or Musou?" Nevets was unaware of his other 'friends' untimely leave of the village and asked out of curiosity. |

"I'm comming, just wait, lets go Taro." Zen to become better aquainted gave each of his teammates nicknames. He had read a book saying giving people nicknames was the easiest way to become closer. Zen never enjoyed the cold weather it made him shiver. He made his way to the upper deck, Zen was freezing and his glasses began to fog. "I can barely see, my glasses are keep fogging. Eh, whatever lets begin!" |

ooc: please everyone note the conditions: temp- approximately 50 degrees below celsius wind- approximately 40 mph (which is gonna send the snow everywhere, creating the illusion of constant precipitation). if bare skin is exposed it will be frost bitten with a minute or so, which means everyone, unless they have some special ability that makes them immune to the cold, should be wearing special arctic gear, which usually means several layers of thermal material A shoulder grabbed Taiteki's shoulder from behind as Kuro spoke. "Tai, don't get so worried I'm right here. Trust me, I am a better survivor than you, I can't say the same for Kei though." Kin turned away to look at the group, they were without solid direction, everything was in disarray and random men sat atop the snow some weeping from pain others from pure panic. It was a sad sight, something in Kin urged him to take control, start giving orders, he could already see the holes in the arrangements, the wounded section needed to be moved closer to the water edge, so water was at easy access. The stronger ones had to left out at the edges to be ready for an assault, and then a secon perimeter on top of the water and at the furhter out reaches to warn of any incoming attack. This was their base, whether they liked it or not, and they had to use it to the best of their ability. The wind picked up and many men wiped away at their goggles with their thick lined gloves, Kin was luckily, he didn't see by eye sight, he didn't have to worry. But the thing that did worry him was the fighting conditions, it was bitter cold, everyone was wearing several layers, Kin himself was wearing 3 layers of clothing, plus a special trench coat above that. |

Otogakure's White Fang
|
Sena felt his body being moved from the constantly rocking ship, lifted and then moved as his ears picked up the sense of cracking wood and the ship sinking. He heard the cries of scared and injured people as his body seemed to continue to sway back and forth. Sena heard voices but still he couldn't utter a sound or open his eyes, his mind was enclosed in darkness. He could make out muffled sounds when he felt his body placed down, on a firm bed, most likely a stretcher. Sena felt foreign chakra enter his body and he felt uneasy, the chakra felt pleasant but his own chakra seemed to have a kind of temper and rushed out to fight the foreign chakra, much like white blood cells do. Then suddenly his eye's flew open and chakra flared for a mere second, reaching high levels. What was that.........power I've never experienced, escaping in an instant and yet now my body feels so relaxed, yet so powerful.....it's almost like a tension or frustration has been lifted and my strength has increased, whether that's the case or not I don't know but it feels wonderful...... Sena tried to sit up but hands held him down, plus the seven layers of thermal blankets were heavy. His body felt cold but not to the point of burning anymore, there were fires burning around the high tent, staying away from the edges. Additionally a medic nin stood at each corner, each holding a seal and a wall of green chakra was visible lining the tent. Although incredibly thin the chakra kept the cold to a minimal, and the snow out. N: "Your quite lucky you know. You had a high case of hypothermia and your organs were even beginning to freeze. This cold is ridiculous, I can't believe Tsunade-sama would send a young one like you out on a mission of this caliber." "Thank you very much Miss, but I must leave there are things that need to be done and people I need to thank." Sena began to sit up but he was pushed down. The nurse held both hands on his chest, holding him down with immense strength. But then the tension released and she smiled. N: "Wait a moment, your clothes should be dry by now so you may be able to go. Just don't push yourself to hard, your chakra seems to be almost at full capacity as well." The nurse left for a moment to get Sena's clothes and he smiled, he had actually saved someone. Sena looked at the chuunin, and although she was in bad condition she would live. He was happy, and he had a certain sense of satisfaction because he saved someone. The nurse returned a few minutes later with clothes and Sena dressed quickly, putting on four layers as well as goggles that covered the upper part of his face, and a thermal ski mask, along with scarf and hat to keep his head warm. Not even one piece of skin was revealed. N: "Good to go, good luck!" The chakra wall opened for a mere moment and Sena rushed through it, searching for one person in the storm ridden camp; Taiteki. |

Nickel Tenshi was in his element but this was too drastic a situation even for him. The cold did not bother him but he knew better. The climate very much so like the snow country mountains Nickel had long since took a head count in his mind and was relieved to find that no one was dead yet from their crappylanding onto the surface of this tundra. With fires roaring all over the camp site Nickel decided it would be best to reason with the troops that would have to listen to him if they wanted even half a chance to stand up to the forces of sand and suna Nickel found a jagged rock face in which to climb up and get a good vantage of the encampment and with a calm tone he spoke to his now pronounced allies ~Men and Women of Konaha and Kumogakure hear me now!~ he knew several of the shinobi would hate the sound of his voice but those idiots could die for all he cared. ~were hungry and cold and wet and miserable arent we~ Nickel raised his voice higher to grab the attention of the people further away from him ~But fuck all that were stronger than a few small setbacks!~ Slowly he saw people turning around and smiling at the obvious ego stroke he had announced ~On the opposite side of this hell hole is the enemy who thinks they can swipe us down without so much as half an effort but are they right?~ Nickel smiled when he heard the obvious chants and jeers of disapproval ~They think we are weak, useless and pityful, but we know better dont we? So hear me out shinobi of the great lands of konaha and cloud stand up and stay strong! you have been through worse than this and right now we are here to defend that ability to stand strong for our families and our loved ones....are you weak?~ Nickel smiled when he heard the obvious no "Are you useless?" again a no and again a smile ~Will we rally now and let our fierce spirits break the resolve of those dogs from suna and sound~ Nickel raised an arm to the constant applauding and yells of his would be army. ~I cannot lead you as an elite individual because I am not, I lead you as an equal, none better none worse, let this battleprove that each shinobi from konaha is his own leader and let it be known that the forces of kumogakure need no leadership to stand resolute for its own beliefs, an army is only as strong as its individual soldiers SO LET US BE AN ARMY OF LEADERS....LET US BE GREAT FOR THE GREATEST CALL IS NOW UPON US....WHO HERE IS BRAVE ENOUGH TO HEED THAT CALL....THE CALL TO GREATNESS~ Nickel pumped his fist for the final time amidst an army of fists waving and flailing into the air all moving to the singular chant of "WE ARE ONE WE ARE STRONG" Nickel had done his job and now came the final arrangement ~My proud shinobi prepare yourselves, sharpen your weapons refil your pouches stand by the flames and if anything is wet go to the tents and replace them quickly, the battle ahead will be fierce and deadly but remember one thing, those of us who depart from this wretched field will know the satisfaction that a leader knows when he departs from battle a true warrior, remember no official leadership just means that we must take the responsibility upon ourselves to watch the brother beside us...now my friends PREPARE FOR TOTAL VICTORY One final series of applause put a grin on nickels face as he dropped from his position to find a few select shinobi for a side mission that would surley turn the tide to their favor "I WANT PEOPLE WHO WANT TO MOVE OUT WITH ME PERSONALLY TO PERFORM A STEALTH MISSION, ALL THAT WISH TO JOIN ME PLEASE COME SPEAK WITH ME" OOC: got something BIG planned so if anyone wants in on that come talk to my character ______________________________________________________________ OOC: konsetsu at bottom Konsetsu was outside and actually warm for a change. His swords were outfitted with wraps for the hilts to ensure that they would not be difficult to handle and warm pigs fat slicked each blade so it didnt get frozen over when he was attacking with the metal blades, blood would also create a beautiful means of ensuring his blades didnt get stuck in his opponents so Konsetsu was all set in his mind, he found a group of sand gennin and rushed over to them learning their names and their abilities and was aked to join them which he happily consented. "This shouldnt be so bad right? I mean whats the worst that can happen? |

Saiyuki dispelled all the small amounts solidified particles he had brought together in order for him to run on air to get to land without any trace of water on him. Saiyuki looked around to see how the rest of the shinobi were dealing. A chilly wind blasted at his face. Saiyuki brought up a hand to cover his face. Saiyuki was thankful he brought his much-needed extra clothes. Most of the shinobi were soaking wet from jumping off of the ship. Everyone would need warm and dry clothes, otherwise they would be frozen solid here. He hoped they had enough supplies for this. Saiyuki slightly winced as he brought up another hand to cover his face. The blizzard seemed to be getting stronger. Saiyuki then heard Nevets, who was holding up a picture of two shinobi. "I haven't seen Hero for quite a while....It's strange that he hasn't even contacted me....and Musou.......became MIA on a mission not unlike the one we're doing right now." Saiyuki's eyes were hard when he said this. In reality, they all assumed that Musou was dead. Saiyuki didn't believe it at the time, but what could he do? Saiyuki zipped up his jacket a little more. He was wearing a longer coat this time, which his clan leader specifically made with thermal coils to help him, but he would make sure that nothing would hamper him. He was also wearing a couple of layers inside. He also put on his face mask and goggles while he was leaping over here. While Saiyuki was making sure everything was covered, he felt an familiar feeling surging up in him. He knew that the Oto/Suna forces were here somewhere. Memories from a few years ago flashed through his mind. He took a deep breath and regretted that he did. He coughed a little from the icy air. He was sure Suiton users might as well be Hyouton users here. Saiyuki started walking around and started making comments. "We need to get ready. Everyone, start pulling yourselves together" This isn't exactly good....... Then Saiyuki heard Nickel speak out once more. This time, it seemed he had more support. Saiyuki smiled. However, Nickel was right in assuming they would need more than one leader for this to succeed. Saiyuki glanced over at Kuro. Saiyuki's gut instinct told him that Kuro could be trusted as a leader, though his head couldn't find a reason to support that thought. Saiyuki pondered whether he should go on the stealth mission that Nickel was talking about. He decided he should. Saiyuki was sure that he could be able to take care of himself. Saiyuki walked up to Nickel. He spoke with a light tone, yet his eyes weren't exactly trustful. However, with a face mask and goggles on, that didn't really make a difference. He gave a polite nod. "Nickel-san.......if you don't mind this shinobi from Konoha, I would like to accompany you." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So we're just gonna fight other shinobi........ Akira switched on his headset and put it on as Takai called out the order to move out. It seemed that they had finally arrived. Takai had used a rather rallying talk. Suna was fortunate to have him as one of their leaders. Akira wondered what Tenma was doing now, but now wasn't the time. Now was the time for action. Akira got up with Sakyuu as they started for the exit. Akira made sure he had his shinobi face mask on as well as a special heating coat that he had brought with him from his village. He saw fit to put it on now. After some moving about, Akira guessed a longer coat wouldn't hamper him too much. As he was making sure that his gloves were on correctly, he turned his head towards Sakyuu. "Make sure you're ready. We'll made battle plans later." It won't take long to adjust to each other's style. Now, let's prepare for the cold. As Akira jumped off the deck and landed on land...at least land covered with a large layer of ice, he took a look around. Even though he had a face mask on, he could still feel the cold. He turned his back to the wind as he glanced around to see how the rest of the shinobi were dong. He started moving around to make sure he didn't become too cold. However, if that did happen, he would just have to internalize his bloodline flame throughout his body to keep warm. Akira twirled Tensei a few times before stopping. He looked back to see if Sakyuu and the rest of them were here yet. They would need a battle formation after all and a set plan or strategy. They still needed to get ready out here and adjust to the cold. Such a chill wind that blows....... |

"Hey Nickel...I'll go also..." He said, following Saiyuki over to the ninja. He smiled at the two and had on a large coat covered in fur. The hood was up and he had large black goggles covering his eyes and half his face. "I got nothing better to do..." Nevets smiled at the Kumo ninja and then to Sayuki as he held the coat against him tightly. The wind blew roughly as snow tipped his goggles and his brown coat. |

Oh, you saucy temptress...

Taiteki spun around in surprise at Kuro's sudden appearance, a wave of relief flooding over him. Kuro was safe; at least one was okay. He had yet to see Kei though and Kuro's words about him weren't too encouraging. Taiteki nodded and gave a grin, zipping up a thick jacket on him completely before continuing his search. Just then, Nickel's voice boomed out to the crowd. Just barely able to hear him through the powerful winds, he figured Kei might be there to insult Nickel's plan. Dashing over, he could not see said Kei, but now he could hear Nickel's plan properly. The main idea sounded pretty good. Hopefully it was a good idea. "I'm in, Nickel-san." Already, a crowd of about twenty nin were there. The majority were still tending to others and going about in their business to keep warm and alive. Taiteki took a long gaze out to the distance, trying to see if anything or anyone was out there in the distance. Still nothing. The enemy forces that they had seen on the ship were still a long ways off. I wonder what the terrain ahead is like... Unknown to Taiteki, the terrain was more than just a flat stretch of snow. The Kumo and Konoha forces had a small elevation advantage over the stronger and more prepared Oto and Suna forces. They had higher ground by about twelve to fifteen feet with a flat, gradual incline. This would level out to a flat plain of snow for fifty feet. Then there was a very small (in length from one end to another), somewhat narrow pass between two cliffs. The cliffs were much more like rocky hills and were about thirteen feet high on both ends. It stretched out for about thirty feet from one end to another and the Oto/Suna forces could probably pass by in about one minute's time. Further passed that was a vast expanse of flat land where the Oto and Suna forces were coming from. OOC: Geography of the environment explained in the last paragraph. I forgot to do so in the first post. |

Hayashi walked off the ship looking rather different from those around him. He seemed to be going out in his regular attire however there were some slight differences about him. One was that he was wearing his gauntlets to cover his hands and forearms, the other was a fedora that he wore comfortably on his head. What the others didn't realize was that underneath his clothing he wore several layers of clothing made from heat capturing material. He was essentially a sleek human thermos. He looked around him and noted everyone's rush to disembark, however he needed to be careful. He wanted to differentiate himself from those around him by dressing differently. His face was completely exposed, so he needed to be careful about how he was going to go about his plan. He put chakra into his face and began to produce heat to protect his face from the frostbite. It seemed to work effectively, however it required some degree of control and didn't completely keep his face warm, it was like late fall weather in Oto. The cold affected him, but he'd have to be exposed for a long time in order to have any long-term repercussions. If the enemy sees that our ships has arrived, they'll undoubtedly try to attack us or at least send out a scout to observe exactly what the situation is like. I know this because this is exactly what I would do if I were in their position. I think it would be best to be on our guard, perhaps set some sort of trap for them. We have a rough idea of where they are so we could perhaps set some tags on the ground. The wind would make it difficult if not impossible to see them on the ground. This way we would know they're bound to attack us soon and we'll know to rush preparations so that we can accurately meet their offense. Hayashi approached Takai and whispered what he felt needed to be done to the commander's ear before leaving the work regarding the decision making to his superior. He needed to help everyone with preparations for battle and so he went back into the boat and ensuring that everyone was ready to move out. |
