OOC: I was away for the day so I'm not too sure whats going on.

IC:
Zen had over slept on the ship and no one had bother to wake him apparently. The ship was silent as Takai was speaking to everyone. Zen had awoken, and courteously awaited for Takai to finish arranging the teams. Zen slowly walked to Takai's seat.

"Excuse me, may I be assigned a team?"

Hayashi nodded his head at Takai's statement and immediately began to fiddle with the headset by taking it off. It's true that the default channel was useful, but if the enemy didn't bother to change the radio station then the trouble was that they could intercept each other's signals and this would not only lead to ineffective communication between people on the same side but also to having their information intercepted by the enemy, causing enormous problems and potentially increasing losses exponentially.

He looked at it carefully and began to adjust the channel until he reached a frequency that satisfied him psychologically. It wasn't too close to the default position, but it wasn't at the channel at the end of the frequency selector, which went by a knob-like system. Due to limited technology, there were only a total of 10 different channels on the headsets.

"Set your radios to 8."

He then put his headset back on and looked at the others who were beginning to pair up. He was glad to be separated from any possible hindrances, however he couldn't help but feel a tad worried over the boy he had done two missions with. He didn't know too much about the boy, but he knew that he was somewhat soft spoken and kind hearted. These qualities lead Hayashi to want to make sure that the boy made it out alive because unfortunately, the good usually die young.

He didn't speak to anyone as they began to discuss battle plans or act somewhat flirtatiously to one another. He felt as though he required his focus no matter what for this mission. The problem was, was this really a mission? It felt as though he had been sent somewhere where the dangers had not been calculated, and so his chances of survival were incredibly questionable.

I'll do what I can to make sure nobody dies. Those who are strong are not strong for themselves, but strong for others. I will make sure that this ensemble isn't short by even a single person.

He sat and waited patiently for any new from the outside pertaining to what exactly they were going to do and how close they were to their destination.

So I'm partnered up with the time-speeding up ninja. His name's Sakyuu.....Interesting.

Akira looked up at Takai when he announced the people in each team. As expected, anyone who was higher than genin was by themselves. The teams made sense, which was to be expected. However, even Takai wouldn't be able to predict how each combination would turn out in a real life and death battle situation. He glanced at the Ki-Taeko team before looking at his own partner, Sakyuu. He vaguely smiled at Takai's remark and Ki's reaction. Then he turned his attention to Sakyuu. The shinobi was from Suna. While he mentioned his abilities, Akira wondered how good his battle capability was. Akira knew he was your ordinary shinobi. Akira made eye contact with him and nodded. Then he closed his eyes again before looking at Takai again.

"Sakyuu, come over here. We have to talk."

Akira beckoned Sakyuu to come to where Akira was sitting. He was adjusting the channel on his headset to pass the short amount of time that Sakyuu would take to get here. While they all mentioned the basis of their abilities, Akira needed to know more about what Sakyuu could do. He also wanted to see what kind of person he was. All this would be vital in how well they could work together. After all, being half-informed is as dangerous, possibly even more dangerous then being not informed at all. Akira then looked back at Takai. There was one thing that was bugging Akira.

"Takai.....do you know who we are fighting?"

Akira softly made a passing question as he put his his headset around his neck as he had finished adjusting it to the B channel. They might go against the Konoha and Kumo alliance, but there was no reason to fight in this cold. He had heard that last time they discovered an Ancient city, the villages worked together, and that was not the first time. This time, it seemed that that would not be so. They could possibly have to face something else as well as the other villages. However, Akira wanted to know what that something else was. The cold and the rocking about of the waves were already an nuisance to him. However, it was also a question of life and death. Akira was sure he wasn't the only one who had this question in mind.

This mission....we are truly sailing into the unknown.

Sakyuulet the teams wash over him until his was called and then looked over the people in the table searching for Akira. He was a genjutsu user; time might be a good move with it. Sakyuu waited and then picked up one of the remaining headsets awaiting the channel to switch frequency to.

I'm with Akira who uses genjutsu. I've never really bothered with genjutsu past theory, I might just learn something useful in this fight. I will willingly defend him whilst he uses his attacks but he better not expect me to become an ultimate defence, I've got by own back to look after. Akira...This will be interesting.

Sakyuu switched the frequency on the radio to 8 and then relaxed a little whilst starring at Akira. He had a tridendt on him, which was an unusual weapon for starters, as Sakyuu watched him he became more and more interested in the guy. Sakyuu fitted the headset on and clipped it securely. Then he adjust the volume so that he wouldn't be too distracted by the noise when fighting. Akira had called him over as he changed the volume. He nodded to Takai to show he accepted his grouping but that was as far as he went without talking. Then he stood up and walked around the table to where Akira was sitting.

"Akira, it is good to meet you." Sakyuu inclined his heada slightly and sat down before the ships rocking made him lose his footing. Then he waited watching how Takai would answer Akiras question.

He is right, we don't really know what is going on. We could have to fight jounin level people out there and even in groups we wouldn't stand much of a chance. Then again it could be genin, we have a lot of genin here so why wouldn't Konoha and Kumo send genin...It is a fight going by the rule. Subtract your losses from their losses and if it's positive then it's a glorious victory.

Taeko's eye twitched when Takai blew her a kiss. Flirt... She thought semi annoyed. She was in the middle of readjusting her headset when someone called her. She looked up to see Ki. She lifted an eyebrow slightly confused but finally stood up. She walked over to him and watched him point to the chair beside him. She glanced at the chair, back to him and back to the chair again. Folding her arms one over the other she glared at him.

"Are you serious," She hissed. "Look, i know Frosty over there seems to have some sort of respect for you but dont point to a chair and expect me to sit down like some fucking dog." She grabbed the material of his shirt, twisting it in her tiny fist. "I don't give a damn what rank you are, please and thank you are good words to use. Learn them." With that she kicked the chair away from the table and sat down on top of the table next to his pitcher of water. Some of the water splashed out of the sides and onto the table. The chair slammed into the one of the near by walls, scrapping up the floorboards on it's way there. She took the hand that was once clenched in his shirt and then placed it into her other palm. The sound of the knuckles cracking and rearranging under the skin could be heard. She looked down at him again this time her face was slightly calmer, almost emotionless.

"So Ki, what did you call me over here for?" Taeko's legs swung in and out from under the table. She kicked them back and forth while she waited for a reply. Zoning out for a moment she began to think of the actions that just took place and her facial expression changed immediately to regret. She didn't need to be so hard on him especially after Takai was being an ass. Sighing she turned to look at him again.

"Look Ki, my apologies. I shouldn't have snapped like that. We do have to work together so it's best we get along." She gave him a small smile. "Gomennasai Ki-san." Scratching the back of her head she held out her other hand to him. "New start?" She waited calmly to see what he would do next.

I LOVE TO SUCK THOSE TINY ICICLES!
Takai saw the groups split into their respected partnerships and was pleased when Hayashi had completed his task. All of the shinobi that mattered had been given the headsets and were preparing for the arrival. Takai shifted in his chair and waited for some silence, but there didn't seem to be any silence coming. There was still a large section of inebriated shinobi plus those actually aware of the situation were planning and strategising. Takai sighed and brought his fingers to his mouth and whistled loudly. The piercing whistle echoed throughout the hall and all fell silent. Takai sat up, he looked from side to side and grumbled. He move out of his seat and jumped on the table and then onto a block of boxes and bags of goods. He cracked his neck and knuckles and looked around the shinobi in front of him. There was a large enough amount for a sufficient force. Taking into account a good shinobi is as useful as any army of normal men, they were a force to be reckoned with.

"We are on this ship, travelling to this god forsaken place for a handful of reasons my kinsmen...Our Kages did not feel you all deserved the knowledge of as to why we have made our way on this perilous journey...They did not trust you to fight with your all if you knew, they did not even expect you to participate...However I disagree with that fact, are you not all shinobi? Did you not pledge your allegiance to your village? To its people to protect and serve them...To make your home and the home of future generations better? We have been sent here to fight forces of Kumogakure and Konohagakure...I know this is not something special, not something those more experienced of you haven't bore witness to before...However do not be lulled into the idea that they will not fight you with all their worth...Friendships are worth nothing in the world of war...On the eve of battle do you think they will be sparing a thought for all of us they intend to kill? They will not..." Takai jumped down and walked along the floor and continued to speak. "...The friends you have made, the alliances you have forged...Are all worth nothing now, we are their enemy and they ours...I am not asking you to fight for Gaara, for Orochimaru or for me or even for yourselves! However I implore you to fight for those who remain at home, your friends, your family, future family..." Takai's focus and concentration waned slightly as a thought burst through his head as he finished that sentence.

"We will meet them on these frozen wastelands...There is no water, it is the driest place in our would, there is no plant life, this entire landmass is devoid of life...I will be meeting those I encounter with my blade..." Takai thrusted out Zangetsu into the air "...I will make them regret that they ever dared to jeopardise the things, the people I hold dear to me! You all should do the same!" Takai threw Zangetsu into the side of the ship and the enormous blade stuck in the side of the ship. Not causing enough damage to be worried about though. "...You all will respect Yakedo Hayashi...You will treat him like you would treat him...Jounin, Chuunin, Genin...You will all treat him like you do me. I know this man well and I would gladly walk with his man into any conflict with no doubts in my mind..." Takai smiled and rubbed his chin slightly, ...They won't know that I am lying...

Takai stopped moving and stared into the eyes of all those around him. He wanted to inspire them to fight harder than they ever have done. He walked back towards Zangetsu and stopped before pulling it out. "...Do not fight for anger, for revenge...Do not let yourself be tainted by such things...Fight for what is good in this world! Fight for your families, for your friends, for your love! We will stand united as a force greater than they could ever imagine! Be you Genin, be you Chuunin, be you Jounin, you all will fight! You all will fight until your sinews and tendons rip if needs be! None of you will lag behind! United we stand, divided we fall..." Takai pulled Zangetsu out of the ship wall and held it with the tip facing the shinobi. Zangetsu slowly swung from one point to another as he was finished his speech. "...This barren wasteland is far too white for my liking...Follow me and follow Hayashi...Follow each other...White covers the land, pristine, beautiful white as far as the eye can see...Join me and we shall paint the scene with red! For our families! For our friends! For ourselves! For Suna...For Oto!!"

"Excuse me? Taeko-kun..I think you misheard me or i just made a stupid mistake. I did not mean to offend you, nor command you in anyway. Sorry if my jester was wrong, I was just plainly pointing for you to have a seat so we could talk. I am sorry we got off on the wrong foot. So do not apologize for my rudeness, Taeko. Not to be rude again, but a new start is not needed. The best friendships or comrade to comrade relationships start out rough, and have no need to forged. So, we just started on the wrong foot, lets end on the right one."

Ki smiled and straightened out his outfit a bit from where Taeko had pulled on, and it seemed that she did this out of sheer emotion. She was not a naturally violent person, but she believes in what she wants to do, in which Ki respected that. Ki nodded and put his arms on the table and looked at Taeko, with a bright face.

"Now, the speech of a life time here from your Sensei, right? After he finishes I shall continue what I wanted to talk to you about."

Ki said yet again with a smile and a blank look on this face, and then looked at Takai gave out some information about the terrain and how it was going to go down, in which Ki had already heard about, but he did not wish to be rude to Taeko and Takai, both. Takai went on about pride, ranks, respect and following Hayashi, which he mostly already did. But after the spiel was done, Ki agreed to mostly everything he said, and it seemed it was a bit more emotional the way he said it, than Orochimaru. Ki took a drink of water slowly and sparingly and put it down fast and looked back at Taeko.

"Taeko-kun, I would like to talk about some combination moves, or maybe your specialty in earth manipulation and also if you like our team set-up? I had an idea about how your earth could possibly make a direct almost like funnel to direct the sound waves for a more efficient way of using the sound. With that, I could also use my sound to perhaps lodge any offensive earth molding faster through the air? What do you think, Taeko-kun?"

Ki asked bluntly yet nicely with a slightly smirk, he did not want to offend her once again, without knowing he did. He kind of felt bad because he may have thought his first specking with her was nice, but really was rude, due to his emotion. But now it seemed to be fine, and he hoped it was. Then Hayashi came around still saying the frequency number and it was eight. Ki picked up his hand and turned the dial to eight and he was set, as the final click of the dial stopped. Yet all he could do now was await Taeko's reply and see her view on the team mate she had been given. Ki started to think and rubbed his face, then blushed a bit at his thoughts and sighed lightly.

Man...my first impression on a girl went...horribly wrong..

Waves crashed against the boat, rocking it left to right, so has it been ever since they set foot on the ship. For reasons not bothered to be given, it`s not like it mattered, whether they knew or not they still had to go. There was no disobeying the higher ups, even Shinji knew that. All they knew for sure was that they were going in to battle, it`s not like the people on the boat could do anything else. Fighting was all they could do, at least when referring to the most. He felt disgusted, so many weaklings, all he had to do to tell apart decent shinobi from coward was one look in the eyes. Instantly noticeable. It could make him laugh, but he was so annoyed by it that he could not even laugh at their weakness. Only become more irritated.

Shinji could barely withstand it any longer, it was bad enough he was stuck on this boat with so many fools surrounding him thinking glory awaits them when it is quite obviously the opposite. But on top of that, he had to listen to the rants of others, especially of a ninja he passionately hated, a particular piece of thrash. That this person is of higher rank means absolutely nothing to him, he could hardly care about such things, and he could hardly contain what he wanted to say, it was going to burst out. It`s not like it mattered though, he would not regret it, and he doubted they would do anything about it. It was somewhat for his enjoyment as well before he died from boredom on this forsaken ship.

" Could you shut the fuck up? "

Staring directly at Takai, it was like he could keep on talking for days on end about how they both liked walking by the beach during sunsets and whatever else shit came to mind. It annoyed him to no end. His speech nothing but word vomit, it had no worth, not to him, and he hoped that the rest could see past it. Although he doubted it, there are no other shinobi on this boat capable of processing their own thoughts.

Zen heard this morality boosters hundreds of times.

That's a pretty good moral booster for what is to come.

Zen was still searching for a team to be assigned to him. Everyone seemed to tend to their assigned teams murmuring strategies and other plans. Zen waited paitently for a team. Zen went to a small group in the far side of the ship. Zen recognized Kintaro in the group and decided to ask them to be apart of the group.

"Hello, Kintaro-san mind. if I join your group?"

Zen waited for a reply there was no ill will intended in Zen's words as he waited paitently for a reply.
