OOC: DO NOT POST HERE UNTIL YOUR GROUP HAS COMPLETED THEIR THIRD AND FINAL TRAP! THANK YOU! The groups came in one by one, all looking worn from the ordeals they had faced and all hoping that this God-forsaken mission would end soon. First entered Team Green-1, then Team Purple-5, then Team Blue-3 and so on and so forth. Almost sequentially, but also slightly randomly scattered with their entrances. The progression had been different and some groups had progressed much slower than others, but in the end they had all made it to the final room. The ground trembled violently, as if something enormous was going to protrude any minute now and was going to kill them all, but such might not be the case. Every trap until now involved a small sacrifice and quite possibly this next and potentially final trap invoked the same type of requirement. Suddenly the ground slightly rose, as though something had been written on it at ages long past. The words were deeply dug into this massive piece of soil that was now flipping as though it was some sort of door. The message written was: Through sacrifice thou hast been brought, To pay for crimes that thou has wrought, The ultimate sacrifice one must take alone, For all others to return home. The vague riddle led many to different conclusions, but 2 had come up with the same one and they both went to a platform which was the result of this door fully flipping. The trembling got worse and worse as what looked like buildings where beginning to come out of the ground accompanied by a magnificently large drill. The drill kept going higher and higher as a written description of the purpose came out of the ground written onto some of the buildings. Jagganath, the city that failed to reach the skies once will try again. And in its ascension, the former world will fall. The purpose of the drill was to move the plates underneath the earth causing disturbances that would shake the very foundation of the current world and causing everything to crumble, the earth's shape would change, and many many lives would be lost. Essentially, it would be the end of the world as they knew it. The plan had been stopped before and the result of this ploy was that the earth above had become dead, nothing would grow on it and so Suna remained a sandy village. What the former teams didn't realize was that a timer was placed so that in the future, the drill would start over. And now, a new 5 team group was formed and they, just as those before them had completed the same trials as those before them. The destruction of the shinobi world that those of the city of Jagganath so wanted would be stopped, once again. From the platform emanated a huge light as the 2 shinobi, Kin and Kisuke rose towards the ceiling. What transpired could not be seen due to the brightness, but from a distance, one could faintly see something fall from the platform. It continued to rise and rise until finally it reached the roof and everything stopped. The trap was over, the sacrifice made.... Kisuke was dead. |

ooc: okay my team hasn't finish, but to keep this going my post is necessary, remember nobody knows what's going on at the rising platform. All they knew is when it reaches the the top a huge light flashes through the city. at the end of each of the trials the groups came to a cross road which held a message similar to the one above, basically saying one path led to the ultiamte sacrifice, the other led to salvation. Kin and Kisuke took the sacrifice roads obviously and never met up with everyone else. ic: Kin stood on the ground below the rising pillar, as Kisuke hit the top a massive light flashed through out the city and slowly they pillar began to descend again. Kin was leaning on a wall, one led with Kasumi's wakisashi stabbed into it, laying on the ground next to it was Kisuke's knife. He couldn't believe himself, but tears ran down his eyes, as he saw the pillar come back down. Massive water and air containment systems at the higher part of each building activating, creating artificial rain and pumping in fresh, un-tainted air. The massive trial was over and now the city was using water to filter out the air and pump in air that didn't have the chakra restricting toxin. Within the enxt few minutes everyone would be able to use their jutsus again. Kin only felt rain, he couldn't care less about the rest, in the span of just a few minutes two people he had known for so long were gone. His only love, Ayane, taken down by a storm of needles, and Kisuke, his rival and worst enemy saved Kin's life so he could kill himself. For so long he only thought of Kisuke as his worst enemy, he never imagined he'd mourn his death. Kin remember the last words Kisuke said before he fell of the pillar, leaving Kisuke to his doom. " 'keep your head up'............you sarcastic bastard.............you went up there to die!!! Was it for me!!! Or for them!!" Kin collapsed again, the strain of so many electric shocks from the trap, and the previous fight wore him out, his held his forehead while stared at the ground, the fake rain began to fade away. "you'd die for them..........but did you also die for me too?........." =================== Back at the meeting of all the groups, team gold-2 was first arriving, the toxin in the air already gone for the most part due to the fake rain. Itami was at the lead, holding a body wrapped up in bandages. He looked through the group, quickly finding Tenma, he approached him. He wasn't sure if Tenma knew who he was, but he didn't care. He laid the body of Ayane near Tenma, and turned to him. itami-"he said you'd take her body back and give her a burial, he also wanted you to have this." Itami reached his hand forward, holding Tensa Zangetsu, it was in it's scabbard, wrapped in a black cloth. Unknown to both of them, hidden inside the black cloth was a small slip of paper which held the identities of every covenant member. Laying in Itami's pocket was Kin's gold ring. He had given leadership of the Covenant to Itami, but left the identiies of everyone to Tenma. Odds are he wouldn't discover the hidden secret till he looked over the sword, which would be days from now. |

I LOVE TO SUCK THOSE TINY ICICLES!

Takai stepped through the door way and out into the annex. There was a group of people already there; they were one of the other groups sent in to stop the Jagganath. Takai noticed Itami carrying a body and handing it over to a shinobi dressed in red with black hair. He saw a weapon exchanged, but that was it. He looked up as he felt a drop of water run down his cheek. He knew it wasn’t a tear, he looked up and water was gushing down onto the groups. Takai smiled, was this, their reward? A nice shower to cool them off at the end of the tortures they had faced? He started to laugh gently as he felt the water fall closer to him and the familiar sound of cracking resonated around him. Takai stood still and looked around him, people were far too sombre. They had completed their mission, they had stopped the Jagganath; yet people were far too solemn. The rain drops fell faster and faster and the noise of them freezing became louder. It was like the shattering of glass, but was almost musical as it happened. He looked around him, he felt his chakra surge around his body and it was now evident it was something in the air that was stopping them from using chakra. Takai looked at the centre of the giant mechanical monster and mumbled to himself. “…Something isn’t right…” Takai with his left arm planted his broadsword into the floor and walked forwards slightly. He held his right arm up with his left, but it didn’t hurt. Neither arm gave him any pain now, but the shattered bones in his right arm would prove troublesome. Takai walked over to the Gold group and waited for the other groups to arrive, it wouldn’t be long before everyone was to leave again. Takai looked behind and saw his group not far behind him, Taiteki and Kei were the first two out of the group; Something was amiss. Takai walked forwards and saw a Sound Ninja on the floor in a state, but he didn't see Kisuke. Kisuke and Kin had gone up, but only one had come down. Takai looked up and shook his head slightly. "...If you are gonna go...Go out in style, isn't that right...Sensei..." Takai turned around and barged past Kei and Taiteki and stood against the wall near where they had entered the annex. He turned to face the wall and punched the cave wall several times. His knuckles becoming bloodied, and tears streaming down his face, but freezing before they were a few inches down his face. He leant against the wall, his right arm shattered, his left arm torn to pieces. The one person who had taken him in, when no others would; was gone from this world. He punched the wall again with his left arm and went to punch it with his right, but his arm screamed with pain. "...You couldn't dodge everything in the end..." Takai sank down onto the ground resting his back and head against the wall, his eyes closed and a smile racked with disbelief was spread across his face. It wasn't possible...Kisuke couldn't be... ----------------------------------------------------------- “Ahhhhhh” Kei released a sigh of relief as he felt the chakra race about his body once again. He flicked his hands open and around his hands his chakra formed and danced wildly about. Now that he had his chakra back in working order, he felt so much better. He knew without it he was not a difficult opponent. He looked towards Taiteki, but he had missed him and he had travelled through the doorway out and had seemed to follow the Suna nin Takai. Kei apart from a few nicks and bruises wasn’t hurt heavily, he had made it a goal of his to come out of this as best as he could. He was more than useless in his previous state, his quality in Taijutsu was nowhere near as good as his Ninjutsu and his skill in Taijutsu was untrained and very rough. He stepped out and that was when he felt the rain fall onto his skin. He looked around and saw that not many people were happy at what has happened. Kei was confused by this and wanted to know what was wrong. “Heh, you’d think after stopping that you lot would be happy…Ha, you lot are acting like someone died...” Kei smiled and said it in a jokingly manner, but as he saw the body bag of sorts; he realised he had made an ass of himself. |

Konoha's Wave
|
Wow..that was troublesome... Hero walked through the door in the middle of the wall, and there was four other doors, two on both sides of him teams door. Hero looked around as he came out of the hallway, that he had just entered to get to the next trap or the end. As Hero looked around he noticed team two arrived before them, not by much, because it seemed like they just arrived, but oddly something was going on. Hero looked forward noticing Kisuke, in which he knew from a battle about 4 years ago, the Battle of Matsuro. There was another ninja though, he seemed to from Sound, the village in the country of rice. He moved a bit closer to everyone as he then turned off his radio on his neck and pulled the ear piece out, letting it hang down his shoulder. He knew something was wrong because there was a bad feeling in the room, yet it kept shaking, madly. Hero kept himself stable easily, but he was in a bit of pain from the last few traps. Suddenly, Kisuke and the sound ninja, both went up on a platform. It started to rise, as they started to talk on their way up, by now they were about thirty feet or more in the air, suddenly the sound ninja started to fall. Hero bent forward, but the ninja seemed to get himself back to his posture, as Kisuke went higher up. What is going on? Even though Hero's team seemed to be the second ones here, they have missed a lot, to understand this predicament. Hero sighed, as he looked at the others, but he was not ready for this. A huge shine of light soared through the city as Kisuke hit the top. Hero turned his head, and then he heard metal hit the ground. Hero opened his eyes back up, as the light was gone, and he noticed the sound ninja sigh and start to tear up. Hero looked up, and noticed Kisuke was gone, and his blade was sitting on the floor next to the pillar that started to come now. Hero looked around, as pumps turned on, and it start to almost like, rain on them. The air also turned fresh and crisp, very refreshing, but it did not help the event that just occurred. Hero turned his head, closing his eyes, in a felling he has never felt for years now. No tears came but he acknowledged Kisuke's bravery, and life which saved them all. Hero started to move slowly forward towards the sound ninja who seemed to be taking this pretty hard. Kisuke...you fool.... Hero thought to himself as he sighed and noticed the sound ninja collapse. Hero sprinted lightly towards him, and it seemed the ninja may have been injured by a trap, if they even endured them. Hero looked at his team mates behind him quickly, as he sighed again, shaking his head. Hero knew this was not going to be lived down easy. He looked back forward as he stopped right behind the ninja, but it seemed as though the ninja did not want help, but morned more than anything. They must have been close, or were great rivals. But oddly, Hero looked back noticing Takai walk through the door, with Namine and his team. Hero sighed as he looked at him, not in a disappointed way but in a morning way, other than crying. Hero looked at the sound ninja again, who was about six to seven feet away right now. He needed to be alone. Also a genin from Cloud walked in and made a joke about someone dieing, which set Hero off like a time bomb. "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM KID!?" Hero yelled across the room as it echoed through out the city but mostly louder due to the water. Hero was soaked, and turned around and looked at the genin that came in after Takai's group. Hero started to walk towards the kid and then stopped while sighing, knowing this was not the time or place to get mad. They needed to get out, and make sure everyone was fine. Hero looked back at the sound ninja. Hero looked past him, as the pillar went back into the floor, done coming back down. He looked up and closed his eyes, for the loss of someone great, Kisuke. He reopened his eyes, as the water ran down his face, h could lightly feel the use of chakra, which was good, it means it is not restricted anymore, but that is not what is important. Hero looked at the sound ninja, Kin, and felt the pain, but did not show it. Hero walked up to him, even though Kin was in pain. He needed to help, so that is what Hero did. Hero walked over to him and bent down, putting his arm under Kin's arm, and lifting up, and standing, supporting Kin's weight to help him stand. Hero limped a bit, but he was fine enough to help out a fellow ninja even if they were enemies. Hero looked at the ninja. "He was a great guy.....we all know that...." |

Musou followed behind Takai and Namine, unlike before where the group was in silence there was finally more noise and more movement. However the noise was a solemn silence and the movement was focused to a general area. "I can mold chakra again. Something is changed, the air doesn't taste dry and dusty anymore." Musou left team blue and looped around keeping to a set distance from the group clustered near the centre of the room. He didn't need to travel closer to smell the lingering death which overpowered the many different sources of blood. The person, the body was someone unknown to Musou and he knew approaching it and unwanted comments would be a foolish and sensless act. "One person has died to save the group. A selfless act commendable by all. Though the group is Kisuke's yet he doesn't appear to be here, I expect he went up to call for medic nin being the sensible person that he is." Musou whispered this to himself as he stood on the outskirts of the room. His left hand felt the wound left by the kunai through his right arm. He knew that if it wasn't seen to immediatly he could face losing the ability to use his right arm for life, something he was not contemplating doing. He walked towards Namine and tapped her lightly on the shoulder, whispering quietly into her ear. "You used some kind of healing technique on Takai after fighting Fulgur right? Then could you at least try and help heal my arm." Musou waited for her response as he listened to the procedings around him. |

Jin jumped as Tenma told him too. soon enough the door opened and Jin stood there. He picked up Vldorian and walked out. Jin stood there for a moment feeling something. Somthing wrong. It was familiar though. It was a feeling of grief and sorrow like his father had died once again, but this time wasnt as bad.. Why am i feeling this. We got out alive... Jin looked around them room then at the wooden door. He stared for a second and proceeded on. It wasnt long until he was out and into a mslal hall leading to the next room. He was at a small pace until he heard some screaming. Jin was startled and began to run forward. He entered a large room with two pillars raised high. There were a lot more people though. The other groups.. Then its over? Jin was at a blank for a moment. He looked off to the side with Tenma and another shinobi. They were holding a long bag. It was then things began to unfold. Jin took some steps forward feeling the supression on his chakra get lighter and disapear with every step. It was a major relif. He past one ninja and looked up to the pillar. Still he did not know the worst of it. He looked further up at the large drill and a timer. It had been stopped, but he did not know how. He looked at the writting on the pillar reading the riddle. He stood there for a moment thinking. He looked around the large room at everyone's face. They seemed to be mourning, exspecially one particular shinobi. It was then Jin realized the riddles meaning. Kisuke a ninja who had never known or saw Jin had died. Jin around the room and said in a mourning tone: " A moment of slience for him?" Jin put his head down to the ground and closed his eyes. It wasnt much, but he needed to respect the fallen ninja in a way he knew of. He waited for any one to follow or silence to fall. |

A brilliant failure
|
Vldorian came limping into the room supported only by Tenma, his own muscles no longer could hold up his weight. He hoped that someone from Suna would be in good enough shape to help him get back; he doubted that Tenma would be that nice, this was the nicest thing he had ever seen him do. So many things had happened in the last few hours and now he saw a couple familiar faces. Hero and Takai, he smiled a little as they came up to the rest of the teams that had been sent on this mission. His smile went away as he saw a dead body. It seemed to affect him as he looked on the dead body. The person was someone he had never seen or met but they had all gone threw trials in this place. A bond of some sort seemed to form but he did not know if anyone else would see it. Tenma bent down and set Vldorian against a wall close to Takai. He saw an exchange of weapons and wondered what was happening and knew something was behind it but it was unlike that he would ever find out what. He saw the madness that Hero suddenly let fly and found that they had missed something. He also saw that he took control of that anger soon after it was unleashed and he also saw a man he had seen and heard about many times over. His lifeless body sat there and Vldorian felt he had meet him somewhere other then the battle field before but he did not exactly know where. “Takai would you help me walk for now…” He looked at Takai and saw that both his arms were messed up but he had to find someone to help him and for now push the dead out of his mind. He then noticed that his chakra was back and he instantly started send it to his wounds and some of his pain went away. He found some of his strength but not enough to walk so he continued to wait for someone to help him. Tenma had help more then he could stand Vldorian guessed and he thanked him for it. |

Oh, you saucy temptress...
|
OOC: EDITED! Tenma walked into what seemed like an chaotic calm. Everyone was in a state of stress, but at the same time, lacked any sort of emotion whatsoever. Tenma set Vldorian down, leaning him against the wall, but did not look at him or respond to anyone just yet. He had only seen a flashing light, which not too surprisingly did not hinder his vision much. However, being so far away, he could not see what all occurred during and after the flash. The pillar slowly began sinking back to the ground as Tenma awaited the sight from above. What's happening... those strange words on the soil... sacrifice? The only logical conclusion... no....... Kin-sensei... ?! He'd only witnessed two figures move forward, not immediately recognizing Kisuke (surprisingly seeing how he held a horrific grudge against him), but easily noticing Kin's actions. While others stared in confusion, it didn't take Tenma long to figure out what was about to happen. He'd seen Kin make some bold moves before. Kin's words rang clear in his mind after Ayane's violent encounter with them, several days before the calling for this mission. That's... what he meant? Sacrificing himself... to protect us? Ayane? As the pillar took its time receding back to the ground, another sight caught his attention. A boy was running up to him, a wrapped body in his arms and a black blade wrapped in cloth resting on top of the body. It was Itami. He'd seen this boy before, though only a few times. He still did not know his Covenant identity; Deceit. However, it wouldn't take him too long to put two and two together, especially since Kin trusted only a few people. Why would he tell Itami of all people to give this to Tenma? That was not his main concern at the moment though. He took the sword from Itami, noting the stare across Itami's eyes. They reminded Tenma of Kin's eyes in a way. He didn't look back to Itami after that, kneeling as he looked at the wrapped body. A few strands of amethyst-colored hair stuck through the wrappings. Tenma's eyes widened slightly as he hastily began removing the wrappings, fear slowly building inside him. As the wrappings from her head fell through, Tenma dropped from his leg's balance, his body feeling oddly numb. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. His sorrow did not come from the fact that Ayane was dead as much as it came from the last reaction he showed to her. At one point in Tenma's life, Ayane was a sensei to him. The last thing he'd done toward her was acted out in anger due to her threats toward Kin. Now she was gone too, just like Kasumi, as well as the rest of the squad. He could not see Kin yet. The pillar had not fully come down, still making its descent. Tenma closed his eyes, his mind full of innocent confusion Everyone's gone now... Kasumi, Ayane, my entire clan.................... Kin-sensei... Tenma's grip tightened on Tensa Zangetsu as his eyes suddenly flared open, white flames bursting to life from behind him, the tips flaring with a hint of blue. Tenma let out a yell of anger as the pillar finally came to a halt, completely down and revealing Kin and Kisuke's bodies. Tenma immediately looked up to the pillar, hoping for a miracle. There were mixed reactions as everyone reacted at once. Some gasped in shock. Others stared with a solemn calm. Even more, others reacted in helpful, encouraging manners. Others acted apathetic to the situation. However, Tenma could not speak. He was too stunned. He received his miracle. Kin was alive. Kisuke was on the ground, dead. "Kin-sensei!" Taiteki: "Kisuke-sensei..." Tenma stood up, placing Tensa Zangetsu on Ayane's stomach and chest. Lifting Ayane up, he slowly walked forward, people parting to the side as he slowly moved toward Kin, Ayane's amethyst hair gently flowing in the air. The "rain" poured down gently on his body, but he could not feel its cold touch. The heatwaves had returned, steam rising from his body. Stopping in front of Kin, disregarding Hero's presence or aid, he looked to Kin. His countenance bore a terrible mix of anger, joy, and pure weakness; anger for all his losses, joy for the fact that Kin was alive, and weak that he felt so helpless to the situation. Tensa Zangetsu lied on Ayane's body, waiting for its original master as Tenma simply stared. Right now, nothing existed but his confused innocence. EDITED! Edited by Demonicus, Aug 13 2010, 02:48 AM.

Hissori could not explain to himself the events that had been taking place. The rain on his body soothed his burns and along with it his chakra came back as the pain in his leg subsided to a dull pain thanks to chakra circulation. But the bigger problem that was yet to be explained was starring him in the face. The entire convent of shinobi bore witness to the ultimate scene of sacrifice. Hero could be heard seconds later yelling at some greennecked gennin with a loud and idiotic mouth and a younger Hissori would have nailed a kunai to his shoulder and pin him to the wall but Hissori only put his arm on Heros shoulder "Yeah...trust me I would kill him too but...your right he was a great man...lets see if we can at least find the body....we need to do something productive...and oh yeah that reminds me" Hissori shouted out to the various groups with a loud and confident tone. "Anyone need medical attention other than the obvious shit we've been through?". Hissori continued around until he found someone he hadn't seen in several years...Itami. A rough smile came over his face as he walked foward with his hand extended as if to meet an old friend. "How ya holding up....does anyone in your group need anything?" |

Namine followed slowly behind Takai. She had this unsettling feeling deep in her stomach and kept her head down incase it was some sort of side effect from the last few traps. When they entered the room the sounds of voices met her ears. Namine took a few steps into the room when she felt her chakra fill her body. She sighed slightly relieved but that feeling in her just wouldn’t go away. She looked around and saw the looks upon many faces….something was wrong. She looked for cloud ninja….Tai and Kei were behind her….She saw Seisho, Becky, Hissori, but…where was Kisuke? Suddenly the rain began to fall; a small smile caressed her lips but faded shortly after. How come Kisuke wasn’t there? Namine watched Takai walk forward and his reaction didn’t help matters at all. She watched as he made his knuckles bleed and the as he mumbled something to himself. She shook her head slightly and walked over to him. Her hand shot out and wrapped around his right wrist in order to stop him from destroying himself. She began gathering chakra into her hands and slowly released the chakra into his arm. She was going to tell him it was okay and not to hurt himself like that but stopped and continued to concentrate on healing him. When his arm was healed she turned slightly to look at his face and froze. He was crying and still mumbling to himself. No it couldn’t be possible…he couldn’t. Kisuke…he didn’t! Namine took a step back from Takai and clutched the material of her shirt above her chest. When she looked up she saw Kin and everything became clear. Kisuke sacrificed himself for everyone else. She shook her head childishly, not wanting to believe it and before she could stop it the tears began to roll down her cheeks mixing with the rain. Her fists clenched tightly, shaking at her sides; she wanted to hit something, anything! She didn’t mean to….but the words just suddenly flew from her lips. “DAMN IT YOU F***ING BASTARD!” Namine was screaming at Kin. Deep down she knew it had to have been Kisuke’s choice to be the sacrifice, but she didn’t want to accept that. It wasn't Kin's fault but subconciously it was another win for sound over cloud and yet again they had managed to take someone important away from her. “Why didn’t you go….why did ….why didn’t you …why did he have to leave?” Her voice got softer and softer as she dropped to her knees beside Takai and began to rock herself back and forth. It felt like it was 9 years ago all over again. Why…why did he have to go? It was only a day or so ago that she had seen him, happy, smoking; annoying the hell out of her during a mission…..but now…now she would never get to see him again. “Zansatsu Kisuke…” His name rolled off her tongue as if she was letting him go. He had told her, his last name not to long ago. She remembered complaining about how it wasn’t fair for him to know her last name but her not to know his. Whether it was out of pity or just to shut her up she didn’t know…but he finally told her. Now was the Last time she would ever say it. She looked down through blurry eyes at her palms; the same palms she just used to heal Takai. How could she be a medic and claim to heal people…when she couldn’t even save Kisuke? She slammed her fists into the ground which was now soft from the rain and cried hear heart out. Goodbye…Kisuke…. For once not even the rain could cool the blood that flowed through her Arashi veins. |
