Kasai looked to see Musou and Takai already through this deadly maze. He turned around to see Namine motionless in fear. Kasai couldn't blame her, since she was a Suiton user. Kasai needed to progress on, he took in mind what Musou said and decided not to worry about Namine. She was a shinobi and should be prepared for any scenario, even this one. "Hey Takai, I'm coming in second.", Takai said smiling. Kasai saw that the switch he was on had no affect and decided to go the other route and try the switch there. He walked carefully making sure not to get too close to the elctricity to avoid getting zapped. He dozed off a little and thought of his dad and how he would handle this situation and before he could continue with his day dream he felt a sharp pain up his left arm. It seemed to flap around motionless. "I'm ok guys, its my left arm, I'll be fine." He got to the switch and stepped on it, one more pathway with a two switches, one at both sides of the sqaure. He figured that one would open the pathway to the end of the maze and the other would be a nightmare. He could see Takai and Musou, no more than 5 feet from him. He could almost taste victory, but there was still one thing stopping him from achieving his goal. "Only one way to do this." With his index finger pointed out Kasai points to each switch and changes sides while saying, "Ini.....mini......miney...................mo!" He stomped on the switch with force and expected the worse with eyes shut. He opended his eyes to see the end of the maze, he was relieved but remembered a member of his team was still not through. "COMMON NAMINE......YOU CAN DO IT!!!" |

Namine froze in her spot at Takai’s words. It was as if he knew the exact words needed to tear her down. "Kumogakure shinobi...Never worthy of trust...They have no honor...They would sacrifice their own family for benefit..." The images of her dead parents flashed in her head. The day her clan banished her from the complex; when her grandfather called her worthless and a disgrace to the family; the day she was left crying in the rain in front of her parents’ graves. The day she swore to herself she would find away to get revenge on Orochimaru for ruining her life. All the emotions over came her so quickly it was almost too much to stand. She was trying to hold back the tears and in order to do that she needed to yell. And she knew exactly who to yell at. “How f***ing dare you! You know nothing about me…or my family you scum! You know nothing about what I’ve been through. If I really wanted to kill you I could have done it when we were outside the cave. You were pretty much knocked out. Fractured skull, shot arm, ripped apart back. WHO healed you? I could have poisoned you, I could have torn you part from the inside out.” The last part she said with a deadly tone. “And you dare….dare…talk about MY family…MY HONOR……you’re no better than Orochimaru…” She hadn’t meant to say it…but it slipped. She didn’t know these people and here she was about to tell them her life story just to prove a point. Namine knew she was the one holding everyone back and it sickened her to know end that Takai would even think about doing something like this. She didn’t want to fail Musou and Kasai though so she continued on. Namine let out a deep breath in order to calm herself down before she began walking again. Namine looked a head of her and heard the encouraging words of Musou and Kasai and smiled. At least she knew she could count on them. She was more determined now than ever not to fail this trap despite her fear of electricity. Namine continued walking on the path she was on. The electricity would fly every now and then, stinging her skin. Jolts were sent up and down her arms and all she could do was bite her lip to keep from thinking about the pain. She turned down the path opposite of where Kasai had gone. The electricity nipped and scorched her flesh but unlike everyone else it hurt worse. Musou was earth….Takai…was a mix of things….and Kasai she wasn’t sure about him but he obviously wasn’t a Suiton user. So far it felt as if every trap they had been in was meant to target her. First the Fulgur, then having most of the water drained out of her…or at least feeling like it and now an electricity field. WHAT NEXT! One foot in front of the other, she continued to repeat that in her head over and over again. At one point she lost focus and came to close to one of the lines. It caught her leg and the electricity pulsated throughout every vein, eventually through her entire body. She bit her lip till she drew blood and dropped onto one knee. It hurt so bad, but she didn’t want to admit it, the look of pain on her face was probably more than enough to show what it felt like. She slowly stood up and looked at the switch in front of her. It was the last switch she had to step on in order to open the last path that led her to the ledge where the others were. By the time she had made it to the platform her left leg was numb and she had a slight limp. When she finally got there she gave Musou and Kasai a small smile and whispered thanks. She didn’t even look at Takai as she pushed past him. She crossed her arms which were sore and covered in blemishes. “What next….captain?” She asked not trying to hide the disgust in her voice. |

…What is a shinobi, without control of their emotions… He had heard every word she had blurted out as she yelled at him; he stood by his word though, Kumo shinobi were not trustworthy, more so as Takai was a Suna shinobi. Such atrocities had been committed in Kumogakure under the banner of Sunagakure it was crazy. It was reasonable for him to suspect Namine of any kind of treachery, and he still would until she proved him otherwise. He laughed slightly as she rattled off reasons as to why he should trust her and her last point genuinely surprised him. To be compared to Orochimaru was not something he had expected. He watched her as she crossed the electric maze and he sighed slightly as Kasai yelled a rather jovial cheer to spur Namine on. She didn’t wasn’t the type of person that needed cheers; she did better with her skill being questioned and being insulted. She was stubborn and that would mean she would succeed. Takai looked down at his own injuries as she talked about what she had healed. He now had tens of scorch marks up his legs and he looked at his left arm; it was ripped to pieces from the last trap and now it once again was rife with burns and blisters. He turned his head away and watched as Namine successfully crossed the maze and made it to the same side as them. As Namine completed the trap and the group had managed to make their way over to the safe side, Takai saw Namine whisper thanks to Kasai and Musou and he heard the disdain in her voice. She was also rather heavily injured; she had taken her own fair share of damage from Fulgur and the pesky rock gargoyles had hurt her more than they had hurt him. She was also a lot more prone to take damage across the maze than most, Takai himself was fairly susceptible as well; however he had found a way to negate that fact as best as he could. He saw the blemishes across her arms and the indentation on her lips from where she had bit down, rather than let him know she was in pain. He felt sorry for her, but he couldn’t let her statement pass unacknowledged. As she pushed past him, Takai grabbed her by her shoulder and spun her round. Looking down on Namine he met her disgust fill stare with his own. “…If you had poisoned me then, or killed me then, you would have attracted the attention of Kasai and Musou…It would not have been wise on your behalf to have attacked then…I thanked you for healing my wounds…but you seem to forget far too quickly, that without me…You would have been killed by Fulgur…This maze of electricity was nothing compared to him…Believe me, I suffered at his hands…My left arm feels no longer, that was to make sure you survived…I would be careful what you say Arashi Namine…For you know far less about me, than I know you…” Takai walked forwards and the group stood on the panels they had to and the door in front of them opened obligingly. It creaked upwards and soon a room as large as the entrance hall of the cave was in front of them; with all but a cage in the middle of the room. The group moved onwards and entered the room. Takai looked at the group and looked for who was worse off then the others. He looked towards Namine and didn’t ask, he ordered her to go into the cage. Whatever was going to happen, she wouldn’t be in the thick of it all. Namine entered the cage and pushed the switch in the cave. The cage suddenly though snapped shut and Namine was cut off from the group. Around the group materialised clones. Slowly their features came into view and Takai realised it was them. He saw a clone of himself, Kasai, Musou…and Namine. He shot a glance towards her as to question her involvement, but didn’t wait any longer. “Musou…Kasai, I will fight myself and Namine…You two can decide whether to fight yourselves or not…Namine should be fine…As is what seems to happen a lot…Let us hope they cannot use chakra if we can’t…” Takai held his sword tightly; the Namine and Takai clones both had their counterpart’s weapons. He saw an exact copy of his broadsword in the other Takai’s hands and the Namine clone with a Naginata in her hand. The Takai clone was exactly the same as Takai; he was even in the 2nd level of his Kekkai Genkai. -------------------------------------- 10. The Trick (Takai) The group enters the room to see a cage near a corner of the room. The cage has a switch on the "ceiling" of the cage. It's a small, one man cage and to reach the button, you must be fully inside the cage (the height of the cage is rather long). As soon as the button is struck, the cage snaps closed, the door to the exit also stays closed. Then the trap springs; clones of everyone in the group (including the person within the cage). With a reduced number of people, the group must destroy all the clones in order to free the caged person and open the exit. They are not one-hit clones (something similar to what Team Gai had to face during the Kazekage Retrieval Arc). This is a psychological strike to the caged person as they can not aid their ally and could possibly harm them internally, feeling useless and unable to aid their allies; only sit and watch helplessly at the unfair match. The clones cannot use jutsus, it is strictly Taijutsu. |

Musou walked into the room making sure to stay between Namine and Takai as best he could. He followed the preceedings, noting how Takai acted towards Namine especially with her entering the cage. Musou then faced the foe who appeared when the door slammed shut behind Namine, he knew the foe well, very well. "Musou." "Musou." "You seem...Well." "As do you." "How are ya me old chum?" Musou took a step forwards towards the clone and there was a clang as a kunai fell to the floor. The clone was standing right arm outstretched and empty, Musou was holding a kunai in his right hand near his chest. In the few seconds between Musou raising his foot and placing it on the ground the clone had expertly thrown a kunai at the one waiting for it in the folds of Musou's clothes. "I don't think we're quite hitting it off." Musou ran forwards as did his clone both raising there right fist back ready to punch and using the left fist to block the punches. They met and both fists were blocked, then both knee's to the chest met each other coming the other way. "I know what your thinking." "What am I thinking?" "Your thinking "Who is this clever sod who has just beaten me?" That is what you thought." Musou span around using the fan on his back to smack the clone in the face, meanwhile the clone did the same thing as the two fan's hit each other with a dull thud. Both Musou and the clone jumped back rolling their shoulders as they did so. Musou pulled out three kunai from various locations he smiled at the clone. The clone reached into the same pockets and pulled out three, then another from his belt. The clone waved it quickly through the air as he took it from his belt so Musou could hear it on the edge of his hearing. Musou felt down and tapped the spot where the kunai was drawn from, he also had a kunai there. "I'm starting to get on my nerves." The clone nodded in agreement and threw the kunai at Musou. Musou threw his three and ducked under the four heading for him, the clone did the same since Musou's kunai were always aimed at the easier to locate torso. However Musou's hand shot up each one grabbing a kunai, he had Hero's training to thank for this. The clone copied him grabbing two of the three as they went overhead and throwing them back at Musou. Two kunai met in midair and fell to the ground, Musou shifted right rather than jump up and the kunai missed him by over a foot. The clone was not so lucky, it had choosen to jump up since that's what Musou would have done in a normal fight but this time rather than throwing the kunai near the enemy's crouched figure Musou had thrown it higher. There was a thud and the clone's fingers gingerly felt the end of the kunai sticking out of his stomach. "You can't improvise like me can you." The clone bent over slightly but before Musou had got to his feet the clone was holding shuriken in it's hands and waiting for round two. Musou sighed and nodded his head slightly, he didn't think he should be able to stand up so fast, if at all, after a kunai in the stomach. |

Kasai looked around and saw a clone of each of his team members. Then he saw an exact duplicate of himself. He was still feeling the affects of the electric maze on his arm, he could move it but barely. He was puzzled but somthing inside him made him smile. Although Kasai was frightened that he would have to somehow defeat himself, he was amused and somewhat happy that he would experience this challenge. Kasai decided to skip the dialogue and get right into battle. But he needed a plan, since he was fighting a mirror image of himself. No chakra........looks like all taijutsu Kasai unsheated his katana and lunged at his oppoent. They clone unsheated his blade and he successfully blocked the attack. Kaai backflipped and pulled out a shurkien and lunged it at his clone. The clone swiftly moved to his left and avoided the shurkien. This fight looked like it would go on for quiete some time. The problem was that since he was fighting a copy of himself, most to all of his attacks would be parryed. If I was fighting an enemy who didnt know my attakcs this would be much easier.....my only chance is to bombard him with attacks until he weakens Kasai reached into his shuriken pouch and pulled out five, that left him with seven. He ran and threew one one, the clone blocked it, he threw andother, and another until Kasai was a foot from his enemy and when the clone went to block the shuriken, his gaurd was down. Gotcha He sliced his sword down his enemies arm. His new tactic would be to throw a shurken to distract the clone and when the clone is off gaurd, Kasai would strike. But as he was coming up with his plan the clone punch Kasai in the face, hurling him into a wall, knocking him un conscious temporarily. |

When Namine felt Takai pull on her bad shoulder her anger intensified. Namine only half listened to what he had to say. At the end of his little speech she wanted to spit on the ground by his feet but instead she turned around and rolled her eyes. Of course she knew nothing about him but at least she didn’t talk about his family or his loyalty to Suna. She had been nothing but nice to him and now he wants to talk….stupid bastard. Namine snapped out of her thoughts when Takai opened the next door. She looked around curiously at the empty room and at the large cage in the center. Something was off about this place…something she seriously didn’t like. She heard Takai order her to go into the cage and sighed as she began walking forward. Great…he must think there’s something wrong with this place too…so he’s trying to sacrifice me….rokudenashi… Namine slowly pulled the cage door open; a soft squeaking sound could be heard as she stepped onto the platform inside. The ceiling was a few feet too tall for her and it was times like these she hated how short she was. She reached behind her back and pulled her naginata out of its sheath and then stabbed it into the metal floor as far down as she could. Even though the cage was quite tall it was extremely small width wise. Small enough to fit only one person, but in this case it was a good thing so that Namine could hold onto the bars as she stood on top of her naginata. Namine carefully reached up and pushed the tiny switch at the top. Only a second later did the cage door slam shut. Her eyes widened and her head snapped to the side to see that she had been locked inside the cage. Namine slowly slid down her naginata until her feet touched the floor. She didn’t want to jump in fear of damaging her leg even more. When the clones began to materialize in front of her teammate she started rattling the cage, hoping that it would give but in the end she was stuck. “Damn it…LET ME OUT!” Namine caught Takai’s accusing glance. Was he serious? How could he possibly blame her when he was the one who sent her into the cage? This had to be another trap! She watched helplessly as they all sorted out which clones they were going to fight. She could hear Musou’s conversation with his clone and the sounds of Kasai’s Katana clashing with his clones. But she didn’t watch them; her eyes were focused on Takai’s clone and hers. Namine couldn’t bare it…she knew he really hated her now…and if he was someone else…if they weren’t in this mission she wouldn’t help him out at all but….she knew she had to. If her clone fought like her and this was simply a Taijutsu based battle Takai would be fine against her clone. She wasn’t a Taijutsu user…her specialties lied in Ninjutsu and most importantly Genjutsu. “Takai…Try and get the naginata away from her…But watch out…she has daggers as well!” Namine shouted. To be honest she didn’t know why she did it…he would be fine on his own. Then again he was also fighting against his own clone. Namine in that moment felt completely useless. She slid own the cage door and clutched the bars in front of her. She bowed her head as she wished there was something she could do, but in the end…there was nothing. |

Kei and Taiteki after looking at each momentarily knew what the other was thinking. They had been caught in situations which had required one of them to be disadvantaged for the overall mission to succeed. Now was no different, it was another mission and Kei would have to hold the Taiteki clone off until his clone had been defeated. Taiteki had dashed towards the Kei clone and slammed his foot into his head, the clone was sent flying and crashed into the cave wall. Taiteki set upon him, trying to remove him as quickly as he could. Kei stood still watching the clone, he was stronger than he was, Kei knew that. However Kei was more intelligent than him and all around him was a weapon, he just had to learn how to use it. The clone had run in and sent a roundhouse kick to Kei's shoulder, ducking slightly the kick missed. The clone followed through and his foot ran down the wall and bled profusely as lots of cuts formed on his skin. Kei: "Ah...You're just a bull" ------------------------------------------ Takai held his broadsword to his side and stood waiting for his clone and Namine's clone to do something. Their weapons immaculately copied down to the smallest detail. He looked around him and saw the group being set upon by their clones, Kasai and his clone, Musou with his. The two cloud Genin that had been in the group but remained rather quiet also had copies of themselves. However they had switched their enemies, Taiteki faced the clone of Kei and Kei faced Taiteki's clone. They sprung forth and began a wicked battle, the Taiteki's had advantage over the Kei's. Takai saw how one sided the fight was becoming, but he did realise that fist fighting wasn't all they could do in these circumstances. He was sure that the real Kei would manage to survive, but the two of them seemed rather close. They would be able to make sure each other lives, maybe at the cost of some pride though. Takai twisted his wrist about, flicking his sword around him. The less weight augmentation was very helpful in these cases, as powerful and deadly as a broadsword, but to him it weighed no more than a katana. He heard Namine's words and looked down at her in the cage, she was slumped against the door and in a bad way. Takai stop twisting his sword about and listened to her words, she wanted to help as best as she could. ...I could have been wrong... Takai tore his attention away from her, he had been wrong, he understood that now and he was not one to allow pride to blind him. "Well then...What do we have here...A copy of myself that is perfect down to every detail, you will be harder to stop...Namine, or should I say her clone as well...Ah, shame about jutsus not working here, or I MAY have been at a disadvantage...Hmm well it looks like I may be slightly outnumbered here...Unless..." Takai turned to Namine and looked at her in the cage, she was desperate to help and he thought he may have a solution. "...Unless...Ah well then, I would say this is fair...I have tangoed with far greater foe than myself and her..." Takai dashed forwards, but sped past the clones he headed straight towards the cage. He stopped and slammed into it, rocking the cage slightly, he hoped he hadn't hurt Namine; he figured as she was against the cage door she would have been fine. "Namine...You have projectiles yeah? If you do, I will need you to be launching them at the clone I am not attacking at the time...It's too enclosed in here and my sword doesn't have the same range as it would used to...That's why I need you to keep the other one busy...I trust you.." |

"You make a mockery of me. I would have never fallen for that. Don't you remember all that training that occured between when I was born and now? I'm sure it happened because otherwise I wouldn't be fighting myself right now. I make me sick you know that don't you. And don't pull the kunai out smelling your own blood coming from another body really ruins your day." Musou jumped left as the clone chucked a kunai towards him, the clone then released its grip on the kunai in it's chest rather than pull it out. "I remember training, the sad lonesome days spent toiling away on training ground... 32 was it or 33. Not many people used it did they, even if they had they wouldn't have spoken to you, not the other kid, in his dark empty world with not a single hope of ever being aknowledged." "Thank the lord you remember and also the lonliness was well portraid, though I would have emphasised on the bleak darkness and how it enveloped me like a veil. Though I'm sure you would have thought of that if you had been me...Had been clever enough to use it." The two slowly circled each other about ten feet apart, Takai was fighting over to the left nearer the cave and Kasai was hitting himself to Musou's right. The clones hand twitched towards a kunai attached to his shoulder, the clone jumped left as a kunai whipped past his ear. It winced slightly and patted it's stomach. "I haven't removed the kunai I thought it would be nice to grant you a last request, though you haven't said thanks or as I would have hoped lied down on the floor with a kunai in your throat. I commend your ability to show no sadness in the light of your feckle past. I also might add that walkling in a circle won't help you defeat me, nor will slowly pulling that kunai out from behind your back awaiting my next blink. You may have noted that I have done the same, though I did it with style and not by sticking my tongue out as I did so." "Who told you about my tell?...Oh, yeah right um...Die?" Musou sprinted forwards and lunged the kunai towards the clone's chest, he let it leave his finger when he thought it was close enough to the clone to do so. The clone merely turned sideways and took a small step backwards looking down at Musou's arm. He smiled manically as he did so licking his lip slightly, something Musou thought he should stop doing as it was a great give away. The clone suddenly had a kunai in his own hand and was bringing it down on Musou's arm, the blade dug in and Musou let out a sound similair to 'Gargh'. Blood dripped off Musou's sleeve and the kunai was deep enough to see the point on the other side as it had slipped between the two bones in the forearm. Musou lost the muscles in his arm and let it drop, down to his waist. His eyes flitted slightly the pupils jumping to the side suddenly for a brief moment. His left had felt up his hand following the blood up to it's source his fingers danced across the wet skin and onto the drenched fabric around his arm. He looked towards his clone and his tongue flitted slightly on the edge of his mouth almost going to lick the corner of his lips. "A lunge like that did not require me to see you. I could have seen it a...Its hard to say things like that when your blind. I'm sure I could kill you now though and put this sad incident behind me." "Another thing, I have pain receptors, my arm is killing me, you though don't seem to notice them. They're the things screaming at your brain that your guts are about to fall out." There was a clang as a bloody kunai fell to the ground, both Musou and the clone looked down following the sound. Then it was the clone's turn to feel his wound, he did so with the same care and tentativness as Musou had used when feeling the kunai in his arm. Where the kunai in his stomach had been was now a large empty hole, but it got worse. Leading away from the whole was a line of torn fabric, skin and flesh. It continued for about five inches around the clones front and ending on it's side. "Thank you." The clone let out a small sigh of air and doubled over onto the ground, Musou went to pull out the kunai but it wavered and seemingly disolved as his fingers grabbed at it. Then there was no dead Musou on the floor and even the stains on the kunai by Musou's feet disappeared. He bent down and picked up the kunai that had been in the clone's stomach. "I'm holding the weapon that killed me and I'm talking to myself...I miss me already even if I was a prick." Musou turned round and joined Namine in preoccuping the clone Takai wasn't attacking. Though he was only throwing weapons using his left hand and he was feeling quite light headed. |

While Kasai was passed out he recalled the same dream he told Takai about at the dunes. He became angry again, but worse than before. He was extremely furious, he could feel his blood boiling. He felt hot, extremely hot, there was smoke acutally coming off of him. His eyes opened in a furious rage look. He stared at the floor and the clone seemed calm and somewhat peaceful, but Kasai looked the exact opposite. He slowly rose to his feet and was looking at the floor. He slowly rose his hand and pointed at the clone. His head jolted to an upright position with eyes glaring at his clone. "You......you......are.....GOING TO DIE!" Kasai sprinted towards his enem who was ready to defend. Kasai threw a kunai at his feet and the clone easily jumped ovver it. But Kasai had the advantage and drove his fist hard into the face of the clone and he was prepelled into a wall. Kasai didn't let up. He then ran towards the clone on the floor and and spun in the air and kicked the clone in the chest. He quickly backflipped and the clone threw a shuriken which hit Kasai in the leg because he was so blood drunk. He felt no pain, it just made him even more angry. Kasai wanted to end this and not fool around anymore. He threw shuriken, and another and another as he ran full speed at the clone who was running towrds him as well. The clone blocked one, thne another and anoter and the clone went to stab Kasai somewhere by his left shoulder. With all the strength in Kasai's left arm he caught the blade between his middle and index finger (like Naruto and Kabuto). The clone was trying to withdraw his katana, but he was stuck. Kasai rose his katana and it glistened. It slowly came down and as it pierced the clones heart, Kasai began to tear. He was sad, and he did not know for what reason. Kasai's emotions were fluctuating a lot. He had never killed anyone, and he ended up killing himself for the first time. As he withdrew his blade that was all bloodied, the clone fell, and Kasai went to his knees and wept. |

OOC: sorry its late and short... Namine kept her head down until she heard foot steps coming closer. Her head snapped up and she slid backwards slightly as Takai slammed into the cage. She was about to yell at him but stopped when he began to talk. Namine nodded to show she understood. She slowly rose from her position on the ground and reached into her kunai holster and pulled out five shuriken. She searched Takai’s eyes for a moment before she smiled. “Go for your clone and I’ll distract my own….dont worry….i got your back!” Namine lifted up her arms and slid them partly through the bars of the cage. She watched as the clones came running straight for the both of them. She watched as they came from either side towards Takai. Her clone was on the right. She turned slightly and flung the shuriken at her clone. Her clone jumped backwards but not with out receiving a slash across the cheek. Her clone’s eyes darted towards her own before she darted back towards Takai. Namines smile faded as she realized her clone didn’t care. ….uggh god I can’t even get my own clone to take me seriously….i need to think fast….come on Arashi…think, think…what can I do….? Namine reached into her holster and pulled out two kunai and quickly aimed them at her clone, but they were easily deflected by her naginata…..stupid bitch…Namine shook her head and was about to throw another Kunai when Musou appeared next to the cage. Kasai was on the ground …..Crying? She hoped he was okay. Suddenly she thought of something. Namine then reached into her holster and pulled out an ice bomb. She then tossed it at her clone’s feet and smiled as her clone froze in place. It’s all up to you now Takai… |
