Oh, you saucy temptress...

OOC: Stalagmites = on the ground. Stalactites = on the ceiling. IC: They were almost there now. Vldorian took off from the minute he hit solid ground; a good sign. He was smart, not irrational. Why freeze yourself waiting when you can save yourself and watch nice and warm from a distance? Either way, only two were left. They just had to avoid any cracks and falling stalactites and they would be fine... or as close to fine as they could get at the moment. Another tremor shook throughout the ice cave, a few more stalactites falling from the ceiling and crashing violently on the thin ice. Several cracks appeared on the ice in many areas, reminding Tenma vividly of the ice-like scar on his left bicep. How he received it was vague in his memory, but it held some significance so he'd never went to get it treated. It didn't seem like it would come out anyway. However, Tenma had to focus on the situation. The thin ice was cracking all about. Nowhere was safe to stand. Tenma picked up the pace, never standing in one place for too long. He'd yank off the wires from the stalagmites whenever he got far enough and then re-wrap them on a new pair of stalagmites up ahead. Move faster, move faster... I could have gone through all of this with Furea Senkou Kata... we would have all been safe if I had access to that jutsu. However, that's not an opti- His thoughts were instantly interrupted as he felt a sudden lightweight feeling. The ice below him broke free! Immediately gripping tightly onto the kunais, he dangled in midair, the wires tightening and bending against the edge of the thin ice where he once stood. Tenma looked below, his right eye twitching at the sight of what he saw below. Ice spikes. A myriad of ice spikes, at least fifty every five by five feet. They were narrow, tall, and very sharp as Tenma could see. He didn't waste another moment. He had no idea how long the wires would hold onto the stalagmites. Twisting his body, he began wrapping himself upward into the wires, as if tangling himself in them. As he came out of the pit he quickly twisted his body in the opposite direction, flailing his legs up as he prevented himself from falling back into the pit. Landing on the thin ice again, almost as if doing the splits, he thumped down hard, the ice below cracking and falling away as Tenma leaped forward, making a sudden dash. The ice had been cracking too much. The pieces were falling from all around! Shit, run, run if you value your life, kid. It's every ninja for himself in this place. Tenma took one final leap as he forward rolled onto solid ground, a layer of frost covering his jacket as he rolled. Standing up, he flexed his back as the frost popped out and fell back to the ground. He didn't turn to see how Jin had faired. He was cold, very cold. He had frost on his body even though he was covered by his trench coat. He had received a good amount of physical damage from the sheer cold of the air. His body could not stand another minute of it. Releasing the kunais as they fell to the ground with a clunk, he walked forward and out of the room. |

Vldorian was threw door and into another corridor and the cold seemed to go away. In fact, it had only changed to just above freezing but the difference was amazing to his body. He kept running farther and farther into the passage until it was a regular temperature and then he sat stopped and sat down and curled into a ball. His body was almost spastically shivering as it tried to get his body back to its proper temperature “F**k this day… worse day in my life.” He looked at his hands and saw that his fingertips were black and his feet were black in some places, his body was physically damaged beyond anything he had ever experienced. His legs didn’t work well and he could feel that some of his muscles were frozen, and did not work. He doubted Suna had medical ninja’s that could repair this kind of damages. He would most likely have to sneak into Leaf and ask Tsunade to help, he doubted she would and would most likely kill him but he would think on that later. He now waited for Tenma and Jin, and hoped that this was the end even though he doubted it. OOC had to come up with something lol Thanks dem for clearing up the Stalagmite and Stalactites, i saw some mistakes on which was which in different post. |

Jin continued to walk keeping an eye on Tenma for any signs or actions he might do. The ice began craking in a lot of places and begin to fall in others. It was only a seconds away until all the ice would melt of brake from the weight of Tenma and Jin. Vldorian had already made it off and they were getting close. Feet from the exit the ice had began falling everywhere. Jin pulled the wire from the last stalactite and hooked it on another before he made any sudden moves. Safe was the best way to go. After seeing Tenma fall and use to wire to get back up Jin started to run. It was hard to get a grip on the ice. It seemed every step Jin took the ice would fall before he could get his other foot to push off. He had seen that Tenma was had gotten to the other side safely. Jin wasnt to sure how well this would turn out with the ice braking right infront of him. He had to take one final leap. His legs were numb and stiff. It wasnt much of a jump from the fall ice, but it worked pretty well. His front foot hit the egde of the soild platform. it wasnt enough though. his fot slipped and begna heading down to the spikes. Both of his arms caught the edge. It took a second, but he got hiis upped body safely on top and swung his lower body on to it. He looked up at Tenma who had gotten up and began walking to Vldorian. In a moment Jin lifted his heavy body up and began walking after his two allies. ... |

The group moved onward now through the cave as it grew warmer and warmer. It was a relief to Tenma. He did not want to go through such a trap again. However, their worries were far from over. The tunnel way grew less "natural" and more "sophisticated" as they approached the end of the pathway. The dirt ground changed to marble and the walls changed from stone to an elegant, smooth wall, filled with elaborate designs, something one could find in an expensive mansion. Tenma was not sure where this was leading to, but they would find out soon. The halls grew lighter and it became easier to see as a beautifully carved wooden door stood between the group and their next obstacle. What horrors they had to face, they were to see very soon. Tenma reached for the handle of the door, noting immediately that it was made of a well-cut ruby. He knew it was a ruby. His Covenant ring had a ruby on it. Tenma did not bother with the ruby from there though. He had no need to break it off the door. Who knew if it was a trap just to touch the ruby, let alone steal it. He opened the door fully as he entered what looked like the living room of an extravagant and tremendously enormous mansion. The walls had no shelves with books or anything notable, except for four blank spaces for a painting. Each block was pure white however. There were no paintings in the portrait. The walls held the same extravagant designs as the pathway they previously came from. However, that wasn't the only thing Tenma saw. The object that stuck out the most was a huge organ (piano) in the center of the room. At the other end of the room was another wooden door. An organ? What type of an obstacle is this? Genjutsu? No, there's nothing going on. This is too simple... unless we have to use the organ to get out of here. Tenma slowly approached the massive piano, staring at its giant "tubes" that jutted out from the top of the organ. There were two rows of eighty-eight keys where one played the organ. Tenma had little knowledge about musical instruments, especially one with over one hundred small parts like this organ. Vldorian was in no condition for a mind game though. It was up to either Tenma or Jin to take care of this "trap", whatever it could be. Little did Tenma know that the minute someone sat on the stool to play the organ, the massive instrument would start chiming out notes. OOC: The Grand Piano There is a huge piano at the center of the room. The person has to play a certain tune to open the door, but every wrong note results in a massive electrical pulse through their body and the bodies of the others in the group. Similar to the game of “Simon Says”, a tune is heard and it must be mimicked. If they choose to not play for 2 minutes straight, a massive electrical shock is sent through the person playing the piano, as well as the piano-player's allies, damaging their body massively. Everyone must make at least one post in 48 hours and the person playing must make at least 2 posts in 48 hours. (This does NOT mean the trap will end in 48 hours, just a forewarning in case you try to make the door open, which you shouldn't anyway.) |

Tenma and Jin had caught up with Vldorian, who was still on the ground sitting and shivering. Tenma had wanted to move forward almost immediately and after about ten minutes Vldorian, sort of, felt the same way. His will to get out of this place was pretty much all that drove him at this point. After a couple minutes of getting up he walked behind Tenma and Jin with a limp and a shiver that would not leave. When they came into the large room, he saw the piano and then turned his attention to the door and limped over to it. He sat next to it and closed his eyes. “Don’t screw up on this one… I don’t care to find out what happens if you mess it up…” He coughed as he said this and he hadn’t realized how hard it was to talk threw his chattering teeth. He had said it jokingly though, in an attempt to raise his spirit a little and that of the others but it didn’t seem to work well and now the only thing that ran threw his mind was pain. Vldorian had to fight to keep his mind from shutting down on its self from the pain. He sat there with his eye’s closed waiting for Tenma and Jin to figure out what to do and get them threw this trap, it was all up to them now. OOC sorry it took so long and i have some homework but after that is done i'll be back on. |

OOC: sorry i wasnt on not becasue of the time difference , but last night my computer would not go on any sites. Dem i will let you decide who plays the organ. It does not matter to me Jin walked foward once again walking out to the side to see what they had to face next. As he walked his sight of the room opened up first seeing large pipes above. Before completing getting to the side he thought it was a box of some sort with vertical tunnels. Feeling completely stupid he looked upon an insturment. He wasnt sure what it exactly was but only the knowledge of a a musicplayer. The organ stood tall and Jin still didnt know what the obtical was. We are becoming arists? We'll i guess we have to play that thing to open the wooden door.... although i do think a tag could solve that problem. There has to be somthing more.... Jin began to walk to the large piano after Vldorian had sat down. From his words and actions he realized somthing bad was going to happen if they messed up the musical sequence. Jin didnt want to find out what it was. Even so he knew it was wither him or Tenma doing this. They both had their share of exhaustion, but Tenma easily had taken more pain then Jin. He didnt even receive a hit from the elemental golem. Jin arrived infront of the organ and ran his hand slong the wood that structured it. He wasnt sure if Tenma had any experiance with music, but Jin had barely any besides nature. He looked over his shoulder at Tenma saying " whos up?" |

Tenma took his gaze away from the giant pipes that stuck up almost as high as the ceiling, now staring at the two sets of eighty-eight keys again. Walking up to the chair, it was obvious that Jin had little experience with musical instruments as well. If this thing required speed playing though, Tenma was certainly faster. He did not bother to acknowledge Jin's words, but merely sat down, an odd feeling running through his body and crawling up his spine. He assumed this odd feeling was just his nerves, but it was more than that. It was as if the piano sent a pulse to identify Tenma. The same feeling would run through both Jin and Vldorian from the ground to their body. Noting this immediately (for the fact that Tenma rarely felt anything whatsoever), he stared curiously at the piano, his left eye twitching as a sudden loud booming sound echoed out. The organ was playing by itself! Tenma did not catch the first few notes as the organ's keys magically pressed down, as if a ghost was playing the instrument beside him. The organ's final note was played as Tenma guessed a rough number of notes that were played; about 20. Tenma's hands slowly made their way to the organ. His best guess was to repeat what he heard. He pressed the first key that he assumed was played. "AHHHHHHHHH!!" For the first time, Tenma let out a jolt of emotion, in this case, a reaction to extreme shock and pain. Flying off the chair, Tenma crashed to the ground violently. He couldn't tell whether Jin or Vldorian felt the same thing or even if they were talking. Right now, all Tenma could hear was static. What had just occured was still a blur to Tenma, but a huge jolt of electricity ran through the ground, up the chair, and up Tenma's body, sending a massive jolt through his entire system. At the same time, the jolt ran up both Vldorian and Jin as well. Tenma coughed violently as he slowly rose to his feet in a clumsy manner, his motor skills slightly disoriented by the jolt. He had to shake this off before he tried that again. He had to memorize the notes from the start that it played. What a hit... we better make it out of here alive... |

Darkness had been coming in and out of his vision sense he had gotten out of the ice room but he had been able to fight past it and stay awake. The jolt; however, was to much and his mind slowly faded into unconsciousness, one thought went threw his head as he blacked out. B**terd didn’t do what I asked (Smirk) His body slumped to the ground no longer having any sense of the world around him. He didn’t know if this was death or not but whatever it was he wasn’t feeling anymore pain, for the time being. OOC short? Yes sorry about that I need sleep and I don’t have much to post about. Also he will be back up and running (metaphorically speaking) in the next part of the event. If barely conscious and able to walk. :D |

Jin watched as Tenma took the role of playing the organ and stepped up to the chair and sat down. He figured Tenma had experiance with music just sitting down with no thought about it. It was probably for the best. He was at a higher level than Jin and could exert more energy and take more damage. Jin had not taken much, but seemed like Tenma ignored that fact and taking the challenge. It was like he could not let some one else do it for him. Jin was kind of impressed just by his determination to keep going. Jin's hand was on the organ when Tenma struck the it with his fingers. Jin wasnt sure what to expect from the wrong key hit. It sounded off to him, but he didnt know if it was wrong or right. The keys played so fast he didnt see the jolt coming. It struck right through his right hand up to his body. Jin was thrown back by it hitting the ground on his back. He began to roll on his back trying to subside the pain. The pain ended soon, but he couldnt bare it much. It wasnt much more then he has ever recived in one single blow. Still in pain he rolled on his right looking back at Vldorian. Shit.. Vldorian. .. Well so much for facing a lightning user anytime soon .. Jin rolled on to his stomach taking the pain as it went away and began to get up. on his knees he gave a push he stood on both feet getting ready for the next jolt that may occur. He took a breath and spit out " Tenma please not for me, but for Vldorians sake.. It does not look like he can take much more. " At that point Jin only cared about getting Vldorian out alive. If his clothes were frozen and defrosting they would become wet. With wet cloths the damage would significantly increase |

OOC: Hehe, an evil combination huh? Water, then icy conditions, followed by electricity? I divided the traps accordingly for each person, some combos better than others. And by better, I mean " more deadly". IC: Tenma recovered his footing soon as his sight came back to him and the double vision faded away. Slowly staggering forward, he gradually changed it to a stride, storming toward the organ. He knew its kinks now. He had to immediately memorize which notes were played the second they were played. However, he'd need to do some counting and writing. Before he sat, he removed his jacket, pulling out a kunai as well. He'd have to tear the fabric of the trench coat with his kunai, forming numbers in the process for each note that was struck. The top left note would be 1. The top right would be 88. The bottom left would be 89. The bottom right would be 176. He'd have to tear through the fabric quickly due to the speed of the playing and he'd have to make sure the tears were legible or else they were doomed. He only had one trench coat and no paper/quill with ink. Sitting down, the kunai slipped through the thick fabric of the trench coat with graceful markings, Tenma immediately noting which key was hit and what number it represented. Tenma had outstanding knowledge in the mathematical field and could figure coordinate points with a fair amount of ease. In this case, it was figuring the number of each key as fast as possible. I won't jeopardize my teammates' lives this time. The big one is almost dead. The fuuton-user is at a dangerous state as well being that he lacks experience in the combat field. I doubt he's experienced real pain yet. This might have been his first big hit he's ever taken. It's best to assume worst-case scenarios here. I can't give a false sense of hope. Reality will lead to victory, not illusion. The notes stopped playing. Tenma was not too surprised to hear that the song played was completely different from the last. Each note's respective number was on the torn-up trench coat now. He just had to play each note carefully. This was a matter of life and death now for Vldorian. Tenma turned to Jin and spoke. "Jump up after each note I hit....." The last note struck true as Tenma finally finished, the wooden door slowly opening. Tenma stood up from the chair and moved toward Vldorian, lifting him up with his right arm. Drudging through the door, he did not wait for Jin as he knew Jin would be more than willing to high tail himself out of that room. PHASE ENDED (Post in the new thread). |
