Ike sidled even more away from the group. He didn’t like the fact they were now just plain old human beings, no stronger than the old lady who lived across the street…figuratively speaking. Even though they retained some of their strength they were still much weaker, and this was probably the fact why Ike wasn’t his normal self. At least somebody is doing it for me…I don’t think I could ever do it… Ike started twiddling his thumbs and waved to Saki who was likely going to his doom. He smiled and waved harder, he wanted the others to think he wasn’t phased by this at all, even though he was. If they stopped because of him, he would probably never forgive himself. “You go show that box who’s boss Saki!” |

Saki stretched a little bit and sighed. He slowly walked towards the wall and climbed, his mind seeing things from his childhood, from the destruction of his clan to his victories and losses at the chuunin exams. Then his mind flashed to meetings of the Covenant and he thought of how little he had done for the organization. Saki closed his eyes and continued climbing, until he reach the box from hell, the box of impending doom, whatever you wanted to call it. This is it.............this could very well be the end. Well it was a good run I guess........ Saki crawled further into the box until his hand rested upon the button. He sighed, moving to put pressure on his hand but hesitated, reaching behind his back straightening his sword so that it protected his spine perfectly. As well grabbing two kunai and laying on their dull ends to protect the left side of his chest. He knew his chuunin vest would serve as virtually no protection, it was but a mere symbol of power. Saki closed his eyes and pressed the button. He didn't get the chance to hear the click of the door as it unlocked, all he felt was blood soaking his body from all angles. He screamed out in pain as he lay in there, not risking a movement until the spikes retracted and the box fell apart. God damn............is this what my spikes feel like when I hit people with them? Saki hit the ground hard, not moving a muscle, he just lay there, his eyes closed, trying to hold back the screaming in his head, trying to make his body stop bleeding. The sword and the kunai served their purpose, protecting Saki's heart and spine, making sure that he could at least walk and live. Saki lay there still, not moving a muscle. |

Kisuke took another deep puff of his cigarette as he watched on, staring at Saki's slow approach to the clear box above. As Saki motioned toward the button, Kisuke took note of his hesitation. Anyone would hesitate in such conditions. They had no access to their chakra and they just went through a horrid battle against a massive beast. Their condition was but average at best and they could only do so much with their bodies. To allow himself to be stabbed from all angles was pure psychological torture. However, Saki seemed to be making the right preparations. It was only to a degree though. Most of his vital organs were still exposed to the sharp spikes, as was his brain and throat. Where the spikes would jab him were still unknown. They could only hope for the best. Good luck, kid. Otokagure or not, we're still a team and if one of us go down, we're only as strong as our weakest link. The door clicked open as Kisuke turned slightly toward the door. He did not get a chance to look at it though. The sounds of the spikes retracting and shooting out in the opposite direction made him turn back instantly to Saki. Now he knew why the glass box was clear. The blood stained the box all over, dripping to the bottom where Saki stood like a sea of red. Kisuke showed no major reaction, taking another deep inhale of smoke as he stared calmly at the situation. He was trying to think now. They couldn't get him out. Nobody could really jump high enough to reach the box without some boost of chakra. They would simply have to wait and watch what would happen now. The minute was almost over. Though Kisuke and co did not know this yet, the box would simply open from below in a minute, releasing Saki and the blood to the ground. Kisuke would catch him when that happened. Saki was injured enough. To fall to the hard ground in his own blood would be more than painful on his potentially fatal wounds. God knew what they had to face next. |

Nevets watched Saki climb up. How brave this ninja was, and how pathetic Nevets thought of himself. "God..." Nevets muttered as Saki entered the box cautiously. Of course he would go in coutiously...any smart man would. Nevets then showed no emotion as the he hit the button. Time seemed to slow as the door clicked open. When he looked at it Nevets thought, Great...more darkness... Nevets then cracked his neck turning to the sound of a 'shling'. It was the needles shooting into Saki's body. Twenty Five Seconds: The blood poured out of his body, Fourty Five Seconds: The clear glass box was half full of blood. One minute: The needles retracted and the box exploded. Dropping Saki. |

Ike turned away as Saki just stayed in the box. It was sickening. Blood was dripping down from nearly any angle, and Ike wasn’t even sure if Saki was still alive. To be stabbed in so many ways, in such short time, it really made Ike think about himself. Without chakra he was just a normal, scared human. Ughh…I can’t look…I hope he’s still alive…maybe I should have given myself up, my arm was already bleeding. Ike looked back to see Kisuke step forward, ready to catch Saki. If he fell to the ground in his state, it would only increase the damage of the wounds. Ike wondered how the others couldn’t feel sick like he was. He had seen some bad stuff in his life, but this was just grotesque. “…How long do you think…he shall be up there?” |

When Ike spoke Saki fell and Kisuke caught him within a mili-second. Saki felt himself being placed gently on the ground as his vision stayed blurred, and his breath stay labored. Focus Saki focus...............I must not break concentration, I must not let the pain engulf me, my very being.......I must.............I must...........LIVE! Saki's vision returned to normal in that instant and everything came into perspective. His body was in incredible pain and there was a hole in his left forearm, the pieces of bone somehow moved away from the spike, almost around it. It was most likely just the way the spike hit, and he was thankful that it didn't break. Mostly he was just covered in gashes and bled profusely (sp?). He tried to speak but no words came out, he tried again and nothing happened, not until the third time did he manage to speak roughly. "Ike, don't turn away. Whether we are shinobi or human's no one should be afraid of death." |

Kisuke quickly set Saki down, keeping him aside from his pool of blood that flooded the ground from above. Kisuke took a quick look at the box, glaring slightly in malice. The spikes retracted the opposite way again, sticking out, but something was odd about it. The blood was seeping into the spikes, almost as if it was a self-cleaning method. It was hiding the evidence? Or maybe the blood was just a small sacrifice for something much larger? Kisuke shook it off as paranoia. He was just thinking too much. Right now, they had to aid their wounded ally. The door remained open. They could take their time in helping Saki, but not too much time. They had to help him before all the blood drained from his body. Kisuke reached for his kunai pouch, but stopped in place, thinking to himself. I don't have anything to wrap around his wounds. My shirt? No... the jounin vest- no, that won't do much good. It has to completely seal his wounds..... -Ike's cloak... Kisuke stood up, slowly walking to Ike as he suddenly gripped his cloak, tearing through it with ease and leaving Ike with a bottomless, torn cloak, flapping about at his neck. "I'll need this, thanks." Taking another puff of his cigarette, he slowly realized how bad it was that he was smoking near someone with a myriad of punctures in his skin. However, he did not remove the cigarette. It helped him work better under stressful conditions. Ripping bits and pieces of the torn cloak, he immediately tied them on Saki's body. This whole process would take another good five or ten minutes to cover the blunt of his wounds. A few smaller holes still remained when he finished, but they did not bleed very much if at all. Saki would live. "Good job, kid. We're moving on." He'd let Ike help his teammate up. Kisuke had done his part to aid the team. He moved on forward, leading the group toward the open door. OOC: The second trap is this: Acid Mist Trap A sloped room is filled with an acidic mist. If breathed, this mist can harm a person internally (not kill, but do notable internal damage if breathed in too much). However, it does nothing to the skin unless the person has an open wound. The door is at the other end of the room. On the ground is a small indented line that runs down the sloped room to the door. This door requires blood to open. One person must create an open wound and drain some of their blood into the ground's indent. The blood must run the full indented line’s pathway, a good minute to reach the door. As soon as the running blood in the indent reaches the door, the door will open. By that time, the person who gave themselves an open wound to sacrifice will have allowed the fast-moving acid to reach the wound and will be hurting internally the rest of the way, hindering energy. SIDENOTE: Saki, you cannot be the sacrifice for this trap. A brand new person must step up. |

Nevets watched Saki fall from the box and get caught by Kisuke. Nevets did feel sympathy for this man he did not know, but Nevets couldn't let anything hold him down. When nevets examined the next room and raised his hand high. "I will do it..." He said. Removing his shirt, Nevets wrapped the shirt around his mouth and nose, he had no wounds so he couldn't be infected...yet...and his mouth was covered by the shirt. "It's time for me to step up...I think I can do it..." Nevets then looked at the others ready as anything, and waited for their approval. OOC: Sorry it's short I can't rele do much now. |

Ike took of the little bit of his cloak that was left. Thanks to Kisuke, he would now have to buy a brand new one. He turned away from the group and sulked, as they continued on towards the next room. Ike managed to prop Saki up and helped him walk to the door. As Ike looked inside he could make out a sort of faint line of green. He started coughing and put his hand to his mouth. As Nevets announced he would Ike started laughing. “Ha ha…kid, have you realised that this thing probably seeps into our wounds…*cough*…if you step up to do the trap, 3 of us will be affected by the mist. I’ll do it since I have a wound already, I would get hurt anyway. You can try the next trap, if there is one…” Ike smiled and pushed him to the side, leaving Saki standing next to the entrance. He looked at the others, and at Kisuke. His arm was still bleeding even though they had finished off the golem a few minutes ago. It would only take a little nick of a kunai to make it bleed enough to activate the door at the other side. “So…” |

Saki sighed when Ike leaned him up against the wall, a slight stinging sensation moving through his body when it touched the wall, as well as the gas that was being pumped into the room would affect his wounds. Most were covered and he was in no immediate danger and most likely within an hour he would be able to move alot quicker, where as now he could barely move without help. "Go for it Ike..........." Saki slowly put his right arm over his mouth, his left arm in a sling. He could fight with one arm, he could use his sword with one hand, though his speed was reduced due to his wounds and without his chakra he wasn't sure how well he would fair. I feel like a burden now............well at least Ike has gotten a little bit of self-confidence now......... --------------- OOC: Sorry it's short, there's not much for me to say. |
