Long ago…In ancient times, there were five great nations. Their size and power was un-matched by any other land, but unfortunately all was not well…The nations did not get along well, they angered each other with all sorts of things. Trade, resources, and even land, they were at such tension that war seemed inevitable. But when they did clash for the first time, one nation’s power overtook the rest. The land of fire, this nation had developed what it called “hidden villages,” a small and hidden away village in which military training for youngsters occurs. But this training was not like other military training…The children were taught how to wield basic weapons, and control their body energy to form “Chakra”…they could manipulate this power to unlock un-human ability. They were trained to kill a single person in over a thousand different ways, and they were all taught differently. No two children fought alike…The way of the ninja had been born. Soon, every nation partook of this, and some were ruthless at that. Young children became monsters, and held the power of a modern day army in the palm of their hands. By the time they were grown ups, they lacked all emotion and existed souly to kill. Over the years the villages developed and grew. There were times of war and times of peace, but all through each of them…the way of the ninja lived on. Even through the time of the Bijuu. The Bijuu were the greatest power of all, giant creatures, each with a different number of tail ranging from one to nine. The village of the Sand was struck by the might of the great Shukaku, the evil sand priest who took the form of a bearcat. And the village of the Leaf, struck by the great nine tailed fox…Kyuubi. These beasts were the greatest enemy the villages had ever faced…but they lived on still. The Bijuu were sealed away, inside human hosts. These hosts were hated and shunted, but they possessed great power, and some even grew up to lead their villages that once despised them. Over time ninja began to change and develop. Many changed their views from being literal tools of death who were wielded by their leaders, to wanting their own power. One ninja…A child of the Leaf village, stood up against his own kind and formed his own village. His name was, Orochimaru, the snake sannin, his power was only matched by two others…Jiraiya, the frog sannin. And Tsunade, the Slug sannin, who also happened to have took up the role of Hokage…Leader and strongest member of the leaf village. Orochimaru had a silk tongue, he could diseve and control anyone to his liking. And his power was un-human and unlike any other ninja. He wielded great, but cruel weapons of power, forbidden and un-used by any other village. He was the darkness in every ninjas soul…anyone that wasn’t careful would fall into his grasp, and become his marionette. These marionettes, however, meant nothing to him. This dark puppet master would often cut their own strings to help him make longer strings for another poor victim. He enjoyed nothing more than getting stronger and stronger things to control and deform. His power and his wellbeing was all he cared for, and if he had to use a few puppets here and there to extend his power and life then so be it. Orochimaru had a fetish for power; he was obsessed over it to an insane degree and violated both human and nature to find his way of the ninja. Unlike the times of old, ninjas of the new age sought out individuality through this motto, their ‘way of the ninja’. Young and old found their harsh life lessons that molded their personalities into the brave warriors they are. Names uncountable, power immeasurable, influence obvious, these ninjas went on to being thinking tools…no, more than tools. They were symbols of a greater good, ingenious people under the watchful tutelage of their seniors such as Tsunade and Jiraiya. Icons in their own villages, people like the white wolf would lead the young ninjas to the path of teamwork while others made a stark and contradicting message. People like the slayer of the Uchiha, Uchiha Itachi would forever corrupt others such as his little brother Sasuke who would fall into Orochimaru’s hands because of it. Still, there are those that influence others despite their age and rank. The young and vivacious Uzumaki Naruto would go on to change the lives of all he came into contact with from the dark and somber Garaa of the Desert to the morose and rage filled Neji, the genius of the Hyuuga clan. New figures arise and fall all to give their way of the ninja new meaning, to pass down that flame of passion to the younger generations. Warriors worth a thousand come into the spotlight and are snuffed out. Light and darkness intertwine amongst these creatures of the shadow and influence them. It all comes down to one aspect of this new secret culture, power! Old names are forgotten and new faces appear. Old rivalries and new friendships fire up new clashes. History is written in these brawls over power and at the center there are the villages. Once again, as it is destined to be, the tools must be used. Which way will they go? How will they develop? Will they become their own icons or surpass all others to become legends of light or darkness? Heaven or Hell… let the thinking tools decide! |
