Ok, so the other weekend I had a go in Nigel's HUUUUGGGGEEEE libre buggy and am now totally addicted.
Have started seriously looking into the bigger race type buggys cos I am not really into jumps etc (i'd really dent the beach)

Fixed foils on handles are great fun but I have seen ppl (Andy and Bartie) with their phantoms and they make it look so easy.
At my disposal I have kites from 1.5 - 3.5m fixed bridle bullet, cult and rage.

Suggest a nice friendly depower for me to spend the kids inheritance on.

Ta

I love my phantoms, but then Craig (the landboarder you'll often see about) loves his venom. To be honest we stuck with the bullets for ages & they taught us all we needed to know about buggying & I'd always recommend starting with something like that as they can also go superfast. The Peter Lynns auto zenith so if it goes horribly wrong you just let go. I'd like to try the old/new Ozones too - can Nick let you play with Frenzys/Mantras etc? Turbulence definately do a try before you buy & if you see us please just jump out in the middle of the beach & demand a go! Can recommend loadsa kites but it always comes down to personal preference (& sometimes price) so play with as many as you can

Martin had told me about the auto zenith feature and it is a big plus point cos things are definately gonna go wrong as i am learning. I am not looking to buy anything for a few months but I am gonna spend some time checking out the options and trying lotsa kites.
Thanks for the offer, I'd love to take you up on it sometime, I'll be the weirdo in the stupid hat with the big grin on my face one sunday.

Any more suggestions folks?

Veedub, I got Nigels Monster Bug moving with Maries pink n girly Cult 2.5 the other weekend. In the right wind there's plenty of pull in your 2.5 bullet and you have to remember that the bug is not a lightweight thing and that I am rather lardy too so I'd say your bullet will be fine.

If Nigel comes down at the weekend I'm sure he won't mind if you ask him.

I learnt to buggy with 1.2m sting with Adam at Turbulence after struggling to control the 2.5m bullet which was our only 4 line kite at the time. I recon the 2.5m bullet is the best of the lot though - we smashed ours to pieces & kept sending it back and forth to kite hospital without crying at the cost (which you may do with a peter lynn). We ended up with 4 bullets between us but kept going back to the 2.5.
Buggy with whatever you enjoy flying the most. If you don't have to concentrate on what your kite is doing it frees up all the time in the world to concentrate on what your legs are up to. I know we've said it before but you only get a couple of hours every few weeks & a we found a lesson shot us months ahead :)

I'd go for a peter lynn pepper, round about 3mtr.
They seem to be quite nice for learning on buggys.

Or maybe an Eolo Radsail similar to what me n dave fly, but maybe a slight smaller
Or even, give a low budget learners kite like a HQ Beamer or Pansh.

I don't think it should matter too much as long as the trimmings and bridle system suit the activity.
Well, there's my opinion anyway!!

ALSO A BUSTER 3 MTR OR 4MTR IS GREAT FOR LEARNIN & YOU WILL FIND IT EASYIER TO GO UP WIND YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO TWO MAY BE THREE TACKS TO WHERE U CAN GET IN ONE WITH A BUSTER.
