Sunday 25th November Mike arrived outside ours 1 & 1/2 hrs early seemingly keen to get out there on the beach and cause some damage to either himself or passers by. Packed everything into the cars and made our way down. At first when we eventually found our ideal spot we thought, is this enough room for the three kites? But the sea soon shifted out and we un-packed. Dumping the girls in the beach shelter Mike (with glint in his eyes) unpacks his newly purchased, never flown, brand new, crispy Ozone HAKA 5m The bright green, yellow and red colours make him smile, and ten minutes later he was smiling on the other side of his face as the kite tore it away. Mike lost his kiting virginity that day and loved it, he's caught the kite bug and now wants a bigger one!! Me and Dave also had a blast of this new machine and thought - OMG! - it's MEGA! We never thought a 5m kite would be as much fun as this was, the pull is unlike any other we've tried - Dave now wants the Radsail out of the way to make room for something of a similar ride that can edge his arms out of his sockets without too much hard work. Hours later we found ourselves pretty battered after assembling the Blade, hurling ourselves countlessly up into the dunes and bouncing into the neither regions of space. Whilst the Blade was in the air (baring in mind this is 8.5mtrs long), a few inexperienced, female (typical) muppetts turned up and decided to set up their 1.5m (if that) HQ (which stands for HORRIBLE QUALITY by the way) kite and told us to move out of THEIR way. I just thought are they having a laugh, are they mentally retarded??? Some people eh? But all in all, we had a brilliant day and eventually ended up in the pub (as usual) chilling, drinking, and failing the pub quiz once again even with the help of google mobile!! |
