Ghost-hunters from the group Paranormal-Lincs are launching a project to find Lincolnshire's spirits of the Second World War.

The team will explore bomb shelters and other sites linked to the conflict over 12 months, starting in January next year.

They also want to speak to people about their stories from the war and discover how the county coped when the nation was being attacked from the skies.

In addition, it is hoped information can be gained on planes that may have crashed in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.

At the end of the project, a book will be produced to document the findings.

Paul Drake, founder of Paranormal-Lincs, said: "The aim is to keep Lincolnshire's contribution to the war alive for future generations."

Last year, the group carried out an investigation at RAF Scampton to find the spirit of the dog that belonged to Dambusters hero Guy Gibson.
