I try not to pimp out my fics too much but I really would like feedback on this, because Pony and I... well, we don't get along well. He gets in my head and we just fight, but sometimes I get his POV in my mind and must write it. I'd appreciate any commentary. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5109685/1/Something_Like_a_Star Thanks ~sama |

I don't even try writing Pony in first ... too hard to try to recreate the same POV that S.E. used. It kicked my ass once already. |
|
Go, then; there are other worlds than these. If, at his counsel, I should turn aside into that ominous tract which, all agree, hides the Dark Tower. Yet acquiescingly I did turn as he pointed: neither pride nor hope rekindling at the end descried, so much as gladness that some end might be. | |

That is exactly why I usually don't, either - I don't like to mess with the master and I would never ever think I could tell his story as well as she could. But, on rare occasions, a story idea comes to me and his POV is the only one that fits, as in this case. As long as it isn't within the time period of the book, I am willing to attempt it. I'm not sure Pony can kick my ass as well as Dallas does, though. Dallas first absolutely kills me, and after I write him I can't write anyone else for weeks afterward due to the bad taste he leaves in my mouth... But I am just stupid enough that I give it a go anyway. |

I love Dallas in first! So interesting ... all the license in the world to be incoherent. But he definitely is difficult to tackle. Pony in first ... like everyone says, I'd feel too self-conscious. Not only because it's S.E.'s choice of POV, but also because although I share characteristics with the other greasers, my world-view would mostly match Ponyboy's, and that freaks me out in first person. I don't want to write as me lol. |

okay, so we have established that we all hate writing Pony in first, but I was hoping you would all go on and read it and tell me how much I actually sucked at it, so when Pony get in my head again I might suck less. :) |

It doesn't mean you sucked at it, just because we all hate doing it lol. We all liked reading Pony in first at the beginning anyway. Actually, I thought this was just a general "Pony in 1st" thread ... somehow I skipped the first post, sorry. |

okay, well, Zev, if you are actually going to read my Pony in first, feel free to go on to read anyone else in first (I think you already read my Dally in first, and THANKS for that excellent review), I've tried to do at least one one-shot (or more, in Two-Bit and Soda's cases) for each character. Avoid the death-defying sisterfic, at all costs! :D |
