Link In order to limit confusion … Ray Roth is the father of 9 children: * Ray-Ray Roth by Angela Shepard (May 1969) * Devlin King by Dawn King (July 1969) * Shawn Roth by Carolyn West (March 1971) * Timmy Roth (Timothy Patrick) by Angela Shepard (July 1971) * Christopher Sikone by Katie Charleston Sikone (October 1971) * Chuck Roth by Angela Shepard (Jan 1973) * Thomas Harrison by Korie Fox Harrison (May 1973) * Christian Barnes by Jenny West Barnes (July 1973) * Eric Roth by Myra Brettel (Dec 1975) Please note Shawn and Christian are cousins as well as half-brothers. Christopher and Thomas are third cousins as well as half-brothers. Other kids: * Alona Roth – daughter of Angela Shepard and Jimmy Lewis (half sister to Jaimee King, Ray-Ray, Chuck and Timmy Roth). I do hope we see more of the gang (or familiar characters like Ruby and Angela) soon. While I remember the second generation group from earlier fics, I knew them more by name and parentage than as unique characters. When they all showed up as a bunch of teenagers I was scrambling to remember who was who and related to whom and how! Seeing Two-Bit and having Curly referenced helped me anchor all the new kids to the existing universe better. And I'll admit: I'm excited to see Tim again; delicious, prison-hardened 90s Tim! Devlin is ultra-grody, but having him share girls with Ray is a masterstroke. It says so much about them and their father-son relationship in one fell swoop, and everybody's going to remember it--even if it's just because we're squicked out.

I didn't want to shoehorn anyone in just to put them in, but I also didn't want to lose the focus. It's a hard balance. Hopefully it will be entertaining without as many canon references, but I really don't know lol. Tim won't show up until Heaven and Earth. In this fic he's merely mentioned ... no ... wait, he kind of shows lol.

It's been good so far, and I completely understand how hard it is to develop OCs while keeping canon character appearances natural and unforced. My mild confusion is mostly the result of the fic being new, not problems with the writing; no doubt I'll have everyone mentally sorted in a chapter or two. Ooh, is Tim's appearance as a flaming, demonic apparition over Devlin's bed? ;)
