Now, I'm not generally one to squee over fanfic but that's exactly what I did when I got this one to beta last night. In my personal (and I swear, unbiased) opinion, one of the best one-shots I've read.

[considering my usual taste in music, keith urban is a guilty pleasure of mine] at first, i was going to make it a darry fic, just because i love the guy and can write him really really easily. then, i thought it might make a really cool dally fic, sort of a "what if" line of thought considering what if dallas had run to buck's instead of the convenience store that he later robbed. then, i thought of the possible review in store by the author "dallaswinston" and i kinda backed away from that plotline [though, if i get the courage up, i may write it, still.] then, my mind fell to soda, and i thought "perfect". because, soda's character is rarely addressed in such a fashion. he's always the happy, smiling, energetic character as portrayed by ponyboy. i thought it would be an interesting portrayal to write him drinking and crying, and of course who wouldn't be doing exactly that if your younger brother ran away and your girl left because she was preggers with another guy's kid [which, i personally don't really believe; i buy into rm's version where she said that to protect soda...of course, soda doesn't know that, all he knows is what sandy told him]. so, i sat down to write this, and i actually ended up writing it in an afternoon. it was very easy to write, and i didn't really have any hesitations at any point about how this little story was developing. although, originally, the fic started with the line, "i stumbled into my bed room - our bedroom..." because originally it was just about ponyboy. after i had wrote about a paragraph, however, i realized that i was completely ignoring the plethera of material available via sandy. so, i moved that line down and wrote a new beginning which is, of course, the beginning of the ficlet now. alright, well i hope you guys have enjoyed my little ramble of sorts. to all the members here who have reviewed, thank you so much. :) this is officially the most reviewed story of mine!

Perfectly understandable given the whole concept of nano. I'll have to let you see the wretchedness of my nano one of these days.
