So, yeah. Given that I'm a sucker for time travel and all that, I wanted to recommend some fics to anyone who also likes 'em. In the Harry Potter fandom, an author named DrT has been writing a fair number of HP time travel fics - warning: some are sexually explicit and/or make oblique reference to sex acts. If you can handle that, I particularly recommend "The Younger Potter Twin", as it's set in the 1970s and is relatively tame by his standards. In the original fic-dom, I want to note that I ran across "Do Over" in which, apparently, the main character is stuck as a teenager with adult knowledge. :) (warning - slash) |

"They don't just lean to the Gary Stu side, they bloody topple over from the lopsided weight." - barbarienne from Livejournal, in a discussion regarding John Grisham's main characters. "In their own way, they have us beat. It's like a secret code. They're probably really trying to take over the world and we literate people are out of the loop." - Latch, on fanbrats and bad spelling.

If it hasn't already been mentioned there's babyhilts's "Dream Weaver". :) I'm not sure how y'all would be into sprawling time-travel fics with sexual material in it of the slashy variety, but if you want to give it a go, try DW Simon's Distortion. It's an original fic. |

there's a star wars fic that i absolutely love, that involves the whole "girl-travels-to-star-wars-world", and is really well written. it's kind of time travel...["long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."]. it's not finished, but it's still 60 chapters of good writing. if you'd like, i can link you up. :) |

I've never read an time travel fics. (Unless you count things such as "OMG, were in the outsiders!" where they just happen to fall asleep to the movie end up in the book, find someone from the gang and become friends with the gang...blah blah blah. ) I might have to go read some of these. |

:$ Thanks for the pimpage HK. I think you pimped me out twice in this thread. Which is fine by me. ;) Side Note: I love saying 'pimpage' though I don't like that damn red squiggle underneath it telling me its not a word ^o) |

Do not let your fire go out spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved but never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists, it is real. It is possible. It is yours. ~Ayn Rand~

Oh, bugger. So I did. That'll learn me to not check threads more closely. (I swear I even looked through this one, too. Alas.) |

There is indeed. I do believe it's by Peter Frampton and on his "Frampton Comes Alive" album. Not to mention it was featured in one of the Wayne's World movies. :P |
