Carthagnian States
Recruit
 *
The Confederacy of the Carthagnian states is a fairly new nation on the map of Africa, but its position makes it key for a booming economy based off trade with both the Mediterranean world as well as trade between countries within the continent. Recently Shah-Khan Jozef II, the supreme ruler of the Confederacy opened trade amongst a few countries within Africa as well as those surrounding the Mediterranean after the ending of the bloody civil war that had ravaged hos country for nearly twenty years. After much planning and several companies coming to the Shah-Khan and his advisors with their own plans for a rail line to connect the Confederacy with its new trading partner Korsana via an extensive rail line that will be funded mostly by the Confederacy while Korsana will lower taxes for the Confederacy's trade fleets sailing to their ports in Egypt and on the Gold Coast. The Confederacy will also, as mentioned, be trading with the Republic of Porcu via sea routes across the Mediterranean. As of now, as the year 2017 comes to a close, Porcu is entangled in a civil war. Jozef II and his advisors, before sending the first of their trade fleets to the small country, must decide if peaceful trade actions will be seen by the opposite faction as his government supporting their rival and pulling them into the conflict.

As for the goods shipped to other countries, the Confederacy will ship petroleum, phosphates, iron ore, lead, zinc, as well as salt. Trade fleets will be consist of three different types of ships: the tankers to carry a maximum quantity of two million barrels of petroleum, open-top cargo ships that carry phosphates, and a larger class of open-top cargo ships that carry iron ore, lead, zinc, and salt. The trains will carry all of these goods in their cars to make long locomotives.

The railway will consist of many stops along the way to allow the crew of the trains, both from the Confederacy and other nations, to refuel if needed as well as pick up provisions before continuing their journey. The locomotives from the Confederacy will also be staffed with a small contingent of armed guards paid for by Jozef's administration to provide protection for both the crew and cargo from any bandits they may experience while on their voyage. There will be two tracks laid side-by-side, one used for trains coming from the Confederacy and the second used by trains going to the Confederacy. There will be a two hundred yard gap between both tracks so that in the unlikely event a train were to derail it would not interfere with the other train(s).
