See - Character List before reading Posted Image Schloss Neuschwanstein, Bavaria - The Kaiser's Residence 27/08/2017 - 10:00 Rudolf Hinterseer and Sebastian Fischer were sitting in the entrance hall, anxiously awaiting his majesty, Kaiser Wilhelm IV. They had been convened hastily that very morning to meet with his majesty regarding a yet unknown matter, though the two men suspected that it was of utmost importance. Rudolf Hinterseer, who lives in a nearby estate, was ushered to the Kaiser's residence a mere one hour prior at 9:00. He was awoken by four members of the Secret Police knocking loudly on his front door. The men were dressed in Black trench coats, wore black officer caps, and had an overall bulky appearance. Rudolf recognized one of them as Officer Hans Koller, whom he had encountered in Schloss Neuschwanstein before. The man must have been on of his majesty's personal security detail, though such information was such a tightly kept secret, even the Kaiser's closest advisors didn't know who was merely a servant in the castle, or a member of the Secret Police. "Good Morning General, his majesty has requested to see you as soon as possible. Please gather your uniform and come with us", Koller said in an eerily inviting tone, as he motioned towards a black sedan parked in front of the estate. Meanwhile, in the capital New Berlin, a similar detail of Secret Police entered the offices of the Foreign Ministry to fetch Sebastian Fischer, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who at the time was working on a new foreign policy to present at the upcoming meeting of the Reichstag. However, the Kaiser's request superseded any other assignments, and as such Sebastian packed his briefcase and swiftly headed towards the exit leading to the rooftop Helipad. Every government building included a landing pad along for helicopters in case of emergencies, though from time to time these utilities would be used to transport government officials. 27/08/2017 - 12:00 Two hours had passed, and Rudolf and Sebastian were still awaiting the Kaiser. As per usual, his majesty made the castle's guests wait, not due to impoliteness, but most likely to create the illusion that he was too busy with other tasks. Indeed, the Kaiser's only real responsibility was to be commander in chief of the army, which at present wasn't very active. Another thirty minutes passed, until the Kaiser finally came down the long staircase. Wilhelm IV gracefully descended, with two guards by his side. At the bottom, he looked at Rudolf and Sebastian with a serious expression, and silently motioned towards the meeting room, which was connected to the entrance hall. The Guards positioned themselves beside the door, and the three men entered. Upon seating themselves close to each other at one end of the long conference table, his majesty commenced; "General Hinterseer, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sebastian Fischer.." He spoke in a formal, somewhat dramatic tone, which was rare for the Kaiser who was usually very laid back. "You may know why I have gathered you here today.." They remained quiet and let his majesty continue. "I have been pondering recently..." He stood up and began slowly pacing around the room, evidently thinking about what to say next. "Our country was fashioned to be a mighty power. With god on our side, we have always been a nation of true Greatness, yet to what avail? I'm troubled by Germania's position in our world today. We are no longer the power we once were, and since the Great war our borders have shrunk into an unrecognizable portion of our former glory. My Grand-father would be ashamed of the current state of Affairs in Germania. He was the man that lead our country into battle against the Entente, and when victory was nigh we failed him. When I was crowned Kaiser, I vowed to myself, to my grand-father, and above all else to the German people, that I would restore his glory, and build upon it a large Empire, the likes of which the world has never seen. Instead, however, our collective, Germanic history was shattered into what we live in today. My conscious is plagued by the fact that our nation has been molested by the course of history! This nation is a shameful stain on Europe! A tiny land among great Empires! How is it possible that the Austrians, are more powerful than us?? We, the Germanic people, spawned their genes and language! Yet how come they stand strong, and we lie crippled and utterly disgraceful? I'm done with this madness, we will... we shall..." He paused and noticed that he was now pacing much faster than at first, and that the brilliant speech he intended, had devolved into an increasingly nonsensical tirade. Rudolf and Sebastian were taken aback, and somewhat feared the Kaiser's new, wrathful persona. Recognizing this response as an indication of his own superiority, Wilhelm regained confidence, and sat down at the table. "Gentleman, with your help and discretion, I, Kaiser and Commander in Chief of the Germanian Army, Wilhelm IV, will create a European Empire that will rival even our biggest neighbors Porcu and Austria. A nation has awoken, and now we must rebuild it into a New German Empire." Sebastian Fischer interjected: "Your majesty, with all due respect, the Germanian army lacks the resources to combat any neighbor, if that is what you're suggesting. Not to mention the diplomatic chaos that would ensue if we even attempted to attack a foreign nation." Wilhelm directed his gaze towards his military advisor, Hinterseer, awaiting a response: "He is right your majesty", Rudolf uttered. "Given the current state of the army, the possibility of organizing a successful invasion of any nearby territory is rendered impossible." Wilhelm nodded with disgust. The Kaiser knew he could rely on the opinions of his advisors and Ministers, which devastated him. He stood up and moved slowly and defeated towards the exit. At the door, however, he turned and stated in an authoritarian tone: "You have four months. Get every Ministry geared towards a potential war effort. Contact Bauknecht and Stern to allocate resources and funds for a new military budget. Rudolf, I want you to set up a permanent post of Military Commanders here in the Castle. By the end of the month, I want the entire government prepared for any plan we decide on in the upcoming weeks. We WILL do this, and we WILL make history! Gott Mit Uns!" He left the room, but briefly returned to note: "I want to keep this a secret from the Reichstag and the Public for as long as we can, so do what you must. It will be difficult, but hopefully we can commence war production before any information is leaked." The sounds of his military boots echoed through the hall and up the stairs, before finally fading away, leaving Rudolf and Sebastian in silence. To Be Continued...
