Prince Hamed Alsaeed of the U.A.E and Princess Cornelia Decima Maxentius had endured a rather exciting first year of marriage, with a ski trip in the Germanic Republic of Austrian Alps as their honeymoon, a trip back to the U.A.E city of Falah, and a safari experience in the African Federation. Early on, Prince Hamed had purchased an ultra-modern mansion on a private Mediterranean island worth 21 million Denarius to serve as a midway point between their two nations for the couple to meet on at the start of their relationship. Today, the wealthy and high-profile couple resided in the Porcuian city of Aeranarium in a penthouse apartment located in the world class 75 story Princeps Versus apartment building right on the waterfront. Over the course of the past year, Prince Hamed had graduated from The Amirati University of Engineering, Architecture and Sciences in Falah in the U.A.E with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Nuclear Physics. And almost as soon as he had moved to Porcu, he enrolled himself in the Mechanical Engineering graduate course at the Metropolitan University of Ariminae, and graduated rather quickly in comparison to the other students in his class due to his continued dedication and study habits. He graduated with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Princess Cornelia Decima Maxentius had continued giving lectures at the University of Porcu in the importance of education and advancing the sciences. Herself holding a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry made the academic couple a rather good match for each other. She had also taken to vacation twice by herself at the mansion Prince Hamed Alsaeed had purchased for them off the Mediterranean coast of Europe in order to escape the stress of delivering daily lectures and planning the future of universities all around Porcu and had recently returned from her journey to the island and mansion. "How was your trip?" questioned Prince Hamed almost giving Princess Cornelia little time to walk through the door, let alone put down her suitcase from her one day retreat. "It was good, how was your day? Did you miss me?" she responded in return. Prince Hamed smiled and then stood up revealing a rather stylish black designer t-shirt, leather joggers, and black sneakers. "Of course I did!" Prince Hamed since moving to the Republic of Porcu had developed a taste for European fashion and culture, specifically Porcuian. He approached Princess Decima, who at an average height was much shorter than the 6'4" former model turned Mechanical Engineer Prince Hamed. She stood there, not saying a word and staring into Prince Hamed's eye. She smiled slightly and said to Prince Hamed "I have to tell you something. I have good news." Prince Hamed was confused, what could his wife have to share with him that he didn't already know? He sat down smiled back and said "What is it?" Princess Decima walked slowly over towards him and rubbed her hands through his head before pulling his head up to gaze her in the eyes. "I'm pregnant," she said to him, his face grew red with excitement, a smile instantly shot across his face and he took a deep breath. "No way! Are you serious! This is amazing!" he yelled. Princess Decima nodded her head while smiling and Prince Hamed stood up grabbing her around the waist and lifting her up. Princess Decima brought her head down to kiss Prince Hamed as he held her suspended in the air. "We must tell the family! They'd be glad to know!" he added. Immediately Prince Hamed retrieved his cellphone and called his dad, President of the U.A.E, Mujahid Ali Alsaeed. "Dad? I have good news! Decima is pregnant; we're expecting a baby! You're going to be a grandfather." "Son this is amazing news! Does her family know? This is wonderful!" "No, but she's calling them right now, tell mom for me? I really want to be in the room with Decima when she calls them. I'll call you back later." He then hung up the phone and rushed to the bedroom where Decima sat at the edge of the bed phoning her family in Ariminae to share with them the good news of her test. In nine months time, Cornelia Decima had birthed the couple's first child, a daughter named Aaliyah bint Hamed Alsaeed-Maxentius at a local hospital the city of Aeranarium. As a result of Aaliyah's parents both being royals, she is a Princess in two separate families, on her father's side, she is a Princess in the Emirate of Assad in the United Amirati Emirates. And, on her mother's side, she is a Princess in the royal family of the Republic of Porcu, known as the Maxentius. In the U.A.E almost everyone expressed well wishes and congratulatory praises for the couple, with many citizens saying that the "birth of any child is to be seen as a gift to the world." Within two weeks of her birth, Aaliyah had journeyed home to her father's nation of the U.A.E to visit her secondary royal family, one in which her existence would play a great part of her life. Many months had gone by, and Crown Prince Hamed had made another extravagent purchase for the couple and their newest addition. Spending 45 million Alijadins he purchased another ultra-modern mansion on a private island with 80 acres of land off the coast of the U.A.E in the waters of the Gulf of Aden. He had the house designed to be three levels, made up of mostly reinforced glass, with Bocote wood panneling reinforced by silver trimmings separating each pannel of glass. The interior entrance floor was made of marble and met an extravagant staircase made of elaborate wood and gold trimmings. The floors on the second and third levels were made of French oak wood and the walls were painted white. A large skylight ceiling met the visitor and occupier in the entrance and allowed around 90% of daylight to seep in from the ceiling. On the property, due to the rather hospitable climate of the Gulf of Aden, grass was growing along with Poplar trees, a total of 30 of them (15 on both sides) surrounding the lawn. Carefully placed slate had been laid around the property creating a total of six different pathways leading to the many different amenities the property had to offer. The amenities included: A 9 hole golf course with two golf carts specially made for both Cornelia and Hamed, a wood and iron reinforced outlook point that faced west to offer the best view of the sunset the island had to offer, a 100 foot pool starting in 3 feet and gradually increasing in depth until a maximum depth of 12 feet, a small private beach, a dock, and finally a helipad holding Crown Prince Hamed's specially owned silver Eurocopter EC175. Aaliyah turned two, and her baby brother was born a few weeks after her birthday. He was named Mohammed bin Hamed Alsaeed-Maxentius. In succession to the thrown as Crown Prince of Assad Emirate, it is widely believed by both the international community and citizens of the U.A.E that Hamed would take that role as all current children and decendants of President of the U.A.E and King of Assad Emirate Mujahid Ali Alsaeed are all young. The couple however mostly resided in Aeranarium at their penthouse apartment. Crown Prince Hamed was working a job as a Mechanical Engineering at the offices of Arabiana Real Estate Corporation, an Amirati based company specializing in real estate development. Cornelia on the other hand was continuing her job as a spokesperson for education and welfare in the Republic of Porcu and as an advocate for development in poorer nations in Africa, Asia, and Europe. She had returned to work recently after recovering from her pregnancy. The Maxentii had grown close to the young Crown Prince of the U.A.E, and often cited his strong work ethic as an engineer and a loyal and respectful husband to Cornelia as a wonderful contribution to both families. The outbreak of the civil war had caught the young royal couple completely off guard, just as it had the rest of the Maxentii and the Alsaeeds. The single exception to this was the Porcuian King. His position of prominence and power had afforded him the slightest flicker of warning. Still, that flicker was not enough for him to comprehend the impending chaos and the television broadcast of Porcuians killing Porcuians in the very streets he had played in as a child shook him deeply. The shear violence of the conflict, the pitched battles that had marked those first couple of days, had frozen both Princess Cornelia and Prince Hamed. The sense of despair that Cornelia Decima and Hamed felt mirrored the worry that Hamed's parents had for their son and the newest, littlest members of their family. Following the outbreak of the war, Dowager Queen Aglaea Helvia Messalia was able to escape Porcu, eventually finding her way to Copenhagen and to her son King Marcus Decimus Maxentius IX and his wife Queen Claudia Junia Cato. At this point in time, the 11th Legion was still at full strength and the defence of Scandinavia seemed secure. At the same time as the Dowager Queen's escape to Copenhagen, Cornelia Decima and Hamed - along with their two children - fled Porcu, first arriving in Tripoli and then onward to the UAE. Hamed's father, Emir and President Mujahid Ali Alsaeed, greeted the young royals upon their arrival. "I have been watching the news without a moment's rest!" the Emir said. His face wore a tired and worried expression, despite the relief that flooded over him when he saw that his son, his daughter-in-law, and his grandchildren were safe. "Allah be praised! Thank God you all are alright." "Father, what have you heard from Porcu?" Prince Hamed asked as he guided Cornelia Decima and the children along to the waiting motorcar. "Tripoli was an absolute nightmare and I wasn't able to get any information during the flight." "It's a very messy situation at the moment." the Emir began. "But it seems that numerous Legions have defected, placing their support behind someone named Tricostus Caeliomontanus. I have never heard of this man before, but Umar (Minister of International Relations Ghairihabbah Tofik Almontasser) tells me that he is a far-right party leader. Up until now he's only been a provocateur." "And what will we do? What is the Emirates going to do?" "For now, I am just happy to see my son and his family safe and sound. We will decide on the next steps soon enough." |

Prince Hamed and Princess Cornelia Decima sat silently in the state owned limousine of Emir and President, Mujahid Ali Alsaeed. Aaliyah was preocupied with her mother's smart phone while Cornelia fed the little newborn Mohammed his bottle and then bounced him on her lap and attempted to burp him as a way of clearing her mind from her stressing over the chaos back in her home nation, the place the young couple had called home for the past two years. Her task as a mother she would find cleared her head at least for a little while and gave her a brief but satisfying joy. "I've been discussing some options with my advisors. We're going to work something out in response to this conflict." said President Mujahid. Hamed had turned now to look at his father. "The conflict wasn't so bad in Aeranarium, there was violence but it wasn't as widespread as in other cities. It was the chaos throughout the Republic that had worried us. We believed we were at risk. That's what lead us to flee." "You don't need to explain to me why you left Hamed, you guys did the right thing. Think of your children, of your newborn son. What's important is that you guys are safe. Hamed, with all due respect my boy, I'm the statesmen here, I'll make my contributions towards helping the government of Porcu. You don't have to worry anymore. Everyone who's important is safe, Cornelia's family, and your own. Now is not the time for worry. Now is the time to focus on your babies and making yourself comfortable here in the U.A.E." Cornelia had finished burping Mohammed and lifted him upon her shoulder for him to rest. In a whisper she began to speak "Thank you Mujahid. We appreciate you taking us in." "Nonsense!" Mujahid protested. "You're family and I love you guys both dearly, this is what family does. And here, in the U.A.E, all of you are safe. The U.A.E is the home of your husband and the fatherland of your children. You guys will always be welcome here." Cornelia smiled back plesantly before turning to meet Hamed's eyes and smiled. Hamed reached out and grabbed Cornelia's hand as she came to rest her own head on Hamed's shoulder. Mujahid smiled, took in a deep breath and began to look out the window on the rest of the drive from the airport to the Presidential Palace. Presidential Palace President Mujahid had left Hamed and Cornelia their own private apartment in the palace so they could get away from him during their stay there. Cornelia had put down Mohammed and Aaliyah for their midday nap and had joined her husband in the living room, called a majlis in Arabic. She craned her head up at Hamed thanks to their 10 inch height difference and began to speak. "Will we be okay?" Cornelia asked him. Hamed smiled assuringly at her before kissing her on the lips and gave her a hug. "We're gonna be fine" he answered. "Now that the kids are asleep" he continued "How about we do the same. It's been a while since I've seen a bed." Cornelia chuckled slightly at Hamed's comment before joining him in the bedroom for a nap of their own. They awoke an hour and a half later and Cornelia whose mind was ravaged by swarming thoughts shook Hamed awake to beg to him a question. "Hamed, will we stay here until the war is over?" Rather than give her an attitude as he would've anybody else, he answered her politely though he had been startled upon being woken up abrubtly. "No babe, we have our own house. Our mansion and island. We'll be going there sometime in the next few days if that's fine with you?" She simply stared at Hamed. "I would like that" she answered. Hamed had actually felt bad for his wife and wished to do anything if it meant distracting her from thoughts of the war. Two days after their arrival Hamed and Cornelia along with their two children travelled via Hamed's Eurocopter EC175 to their private island and awaiting mansion off the coast of the mainland U.A.E, located exactly three and a half miles from the mainland U.A.E in what would be the desert countryside of the Middle Eastern state. Once at their mansion Hamed advised Cornelia to call her mother and talk to her. And she did just that. Edited by U.A.E, Feb 17 2018, 01:38 AM.

The morning sun had risen upon the private island of the young couple. Cornelia Decima had just opened her eyes as the sunlight began to shine through the large glass window overlooking the Gulf of Aden directly below the bedroom section of the mansion. She rolled over to face the still sleeping Hamed and kissed him on his forehead before slowly getting out of bed so not to disturb him. She walked her way into the kitchen and began making Mohammed his bottle while simultaneously preparing breakfast for herself and Aaliyah who was still sleeping, she also had begun to prepare a fresh pot of coffee. When Mohammed's bottle was ready she walked over to his room and slowly reached into his crib to pull him out. He opened his little eyes to meet the eyes of his mother with a curious look on his face. To the baby Mohammed, Cornelia Decima was the world to him. She smiled and greeted him "Look who's woken up! Look who it is! Good morning baby, good morning!" she then closed her eyes and pressed her forehead against his. Being a mother had certainly added a new joy to her life. Together, she carried him down the stairs and into the dining room and took a seat at the couch in the majlis and placed the bottle in his mouth as she sat down to sit and watch the news on the large flatscreen television. While Mohammed sucked away at the bottle filled with baby formula, Cornelia Decima was being sucked into the news from her country. In Avaricum the African Federation and The Federation of Krosana had deployed troops to combat the opposing legion forces there, while Krosani fighter pilots dropped bombs upon legion targets. In a way, Cornelia was borught to saddness by the images of her compatriots being blown up and shot at by foreign military forces, but she recognized their tyranny had brought them to their deaths. As she stared at the TV screen and the reporter from Al'uma, the state funded news program in the U.A.E, Hamed had awoken and began to pour himself a bowl of cereal and join his wife on the couch. He kissed the top of her head and then proceeded to sit next to her. "Are you feeling better?" he asked her. Cornelia took in a deep breath before replying. "Yeah. I guess so. It just hurts to see people from your home nation get blown up on TV. I just wish it could all stop and we could all go back to living normal lives, as Porcuians. It's almost like they've forgotten what it means to be a Porcuian, and the respect we have of democracy and diplomacy and civility. It's almost like they've forgotten the importance we give to civility." Hamed didn't know what to say. He knew his wife was certainly experiencing something like no other. As a child she had grown up and valued her nation, and as a college student she learned from her fellow citizens and strove for the greatness of her country. And when she got older and had a job, she continued her dedication towards bettering the perception of Porcu internationally with her emphasis and focus on promoting education around the world and in the Republic. Her saddness was well warranted and he could do nothing to take it away, all he could do was help to make her time a little easier. "Cornelia, I'm never going to leave you" he said. Cornelia turned to him and answered "I know you won't, that's why I married you" Hamed smiled and said "How about we change the channel? The news can always wait until later." Cornelia didn't budge for the remote. Instead, she stared towards the words streaming across the bottom of the screen 'President Mujahid Ali Alsaeed has announced full Amirati support of the freely elected Porcuian State in the Civil War' and before Hamed could change the channel she made one statement. "Hamed, your father is one hell of a man, he's certainly very honorable." Hamed didn't answer, instead he chuckled and kissed Cornelia on the cheek before flipping through a few channels and stopping at a reality show 'The Housewives of Falah' and though neither of them were watching it had certainly lightened the atmosphere in the room. As soon as he set down the remote Aaliyah began to cry out and Hamed climbed up off of the couch and walked towards her room to get her. When he entered and saw her standing up in her crib he called out "Habibti you're awake!" he then grabbed her and carried her down to eat her breakfast. As he sat with her, making funny faces at each other, Aaliyah shouted "Mama!" prompting Cornelia to join them at the table carrying Mohammed in her arms. "I've taken up a new assignment. I can work from home now" started Hamed. "That's excellent news! When do you start?" responded Cornelia. "Tomorrow, my new job is going to be 'Manager of Urban Development' until everything sorts itself out. I'll be looking over the plans for building designs here in the U.A.E and checking for any design flaws and stuff. Perhaps we can line you up with a few lectures at five or six local universities over the course of the next year where you can do your usual stuff. It'll help maintain your image after all." "I'd love that, six big lectures in a year will be more than enough to keep me fresh in my field. Thank you Hamed..." "Mama! Mama! Mama!" Aaliyah began to shout at a high pitch tone. "Aaliyah honey, mama and daddy are talking right now okay?" "I'm funny!" the young Aaliyah proclaimed and both of her parents shook their heads while smiling. "She's definitely got your sense of humor" said Hamed, "Ha, I'd say she has your drive to keep me on my toes" added Cornelia. Both parents laughed at each other and smiled back at their young daughter just as the phone began to ring and Hamed went over to pick it up. "Hello there Queen Aglaea, it's good to hear from you! I'll give the phone to Cornelia hang on" He then handed the house phone to his wife saying "It's your mother" while he placed it in her hands. "Mama? What's going on? How's the family?" |
