The Second Italian War

Decades of tension between Italizio and Southern Italy have always between present. Since the divide of the Peninsula twenty years ago, it had always been known that both sides have wished to conquer the other, in order to restore the country of Italy. Rome had stayed out of the squabble, making sure that it was a separate entity from either the monarchic Southern Italy, or the Communist Italizio.

This changed when the news came on that Italizio had launched a surprise attack on its southern neighbor, finally being the one to take the step to conquest.

General Miguel Donahov gazed out into the open fields of crops, not believing that this had finally happened. He wasn't even aware of the plan until the President had announced to his generals of the invasion. A lightning war was to be launched on Southern Italy, so that Italizio could hit hard and fast, catching their democratic rival off guard. Now, Donahov watched as the Red Army mowed down a force of White Italian soldiers, and gave a small smile.

He saw a corporal run over to him, holding a letter. The coropral stopped in place, gave the Italizian salutw, and handed the letter to the general. "I was to hand this to you, General," he said, "they said it was exclusively for your eyes only."

Taking the letter, he waved off the Corporal and opened it. The seal bore a Red Angel, holding a sickle in one hand and a hammer in the other. This came from the Council itself, and he read over the letter.

To General Donahov,
Your orders are simple: you are to move your army to capture the city of Terni, and keep your forces down the center of the Peninsula. I already have General Igrovisky invading San Marino, and I expect it has already fallen. If we suceed, we could take Central Italy in a week, and perhaps the rest of the Peninsula in a month.

To the glory of Italizio,
Gibhrael Morvashek,
Chief Director of the Army

Note: I will be gone on a cruise over Spring Break, and will not be back until the week after. Until then, any who wish to do an RP reply may do so, but I ask you to hold off on any aggressive acts until my return.

The Republic of Porcu strongly condemns the aggressive actions recently undertaken by Italizio and does not recognize the extension of its sovereignty over the territories and statelets of Free Italy. The Republic calls upon the members of the international community to join with her in demanding a ceasefire and a cessation of hostilities.

The Margrave Adrian von Lebus and Government-in-Exile of the Margraviate of Brandenburg echoes the Republic of Porcu's sentiment of condemnation against the Italizian State. Any statements of solidarity coming from the Anarchists currently in control of Berlin is illegitimate and should not be recognized by any state.

Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Austrian Empire condemns this flagrantly hostile assault on Southern Italy and urgently cautions the Italizian government from pursuing its aggressive demands any further. Vienna reserves it's right to end negotiations with the Republic unless the Red Army withdraws its military forces back to the legal borders of Italizio.
