The Amirati and Gaedic special operations troops trained in the desert of the Sudanese protectorate. After a few days of training they moved to the African Federation where they would launch their planned operation. Twelve operatives from the Gawi unit of the U.A.E along with twelve Gaedic RSSOC operatives moved location under permission from the Federation government. They planned further and began to execute the operation. An Amirati army black hawk helicopter and a Gaedic black hawk would be responsible for transporting the troops to the location that the hostages were held at. Two Amirati Air Force F-16s would provide aerial cover before carrying out an air strike on the compound. An Amirati drone would be doing aerial cover and showing live imagery of the operation before firing a missile to knock out the main compound building. An Amirati army Apache helicopter would provide close air support to the operatives.

A Gaedic drone would be just showing imagery of the compound to forces back in the African Federation.

Under the cover of darkness the two black hawk helicopters, Apache helicopter, two F-16s and two drones took off to the Republic of Shabwah. It was just as the sunset and so it was completely dark. The lack of electricity in the rural areas of the republic off Shabwah and the weak amount of electricity in the urban areas made the country completely dark below those in the helicopters that flew at an altitude of 300 feet above the country. They came upon the compound blissfully silent because of their low altitude and therefore no one heard them till they were directly on top of them and about to land. The doors on the helicopter opened up and snipers began clearing the those that were preparing to fire upon the helicopters.

The Gaedic helicopter landed at the eastern end of the base not far from the entrance, the operatives from RSSOC began carrying out their portion of the mission. The Gawi unit operatives landed on the western side of the compound, the special operations teams would work towards each other, shooting Shabwahiian soldiers while they worked to reach each other. The Apache helicopter also helped take out Shabwahiian soldiers from the air. The total of 65 soldiers were easily out matched by the twenty four special forces operatives. When they finally reached each other the Qawi unit operatives headed into the building where the hostages were being held. The RSSOC troops would take out the remaining Shabwahiian soldiers and would apprehend the Shabwahiian colonel in charge of the compound.

The Gawi unit soldiers crept down the stairs, they reached the bottom where a large steel door sat shut. They placed a C4 charge on the door and took cover, they blew the charge knocking the doors off its hinges. Two flash bangs were tossed in and the soldiers took out the five guards wearing ski mask and in charge of the prisoners. The operatives then went on to open the doors, inside they found the hostages naked and with black bags on their heads. They handed them their clothing and left the black sacks on their head. They lead them to safety at the surface. RSSOC operatives captured the colonel and knocked him unconscious they then blind folded him and placed him in the Gaedic black hawk.

The hostages were then placed in the Amirati black hawk and were they all took off. The helicopters headed back towards the African Federation. The Apache fired missiles to different targeted locations in the compound and completed a machine gun run across other target buildings of the compound. Once it was clear the Amirati drone fired a missile taking out the main building. The Gaedic drone continued to give imagery. The two F-16s fired four missiles at the remaining targeted buildings and guard towers, they used their machine guns to complete a final run upon the burning buildings. One F-16s then dropped a total of twenty bombs, the second lined up and dropped three JDAM bombs onto the compound. The compound was no more.

Back in the African Federation the hostages were released, the colonel was to be handed over to authorities in the African Federation. The operatives loaded back onto two respective flights returning to the U.A.E and GCU, the hostages never got the chance to view their saviors but they were aware of what countries they were from. The hostages were treated at Federation hospitals and were then placed on a chartered flight to the U.A.E. When they landed they me up and hugged the think tank members they so missed and met with their families. It was all over the hostage ordeal was finally at an end.

UNIONIST OFFER BOUNTY ON GENERAL AKIMA

Aksum:With a Federation intervention in Shabwah more likely, leaders of the Anti-Federalist congress have issued a bounty of over 10 million federal credits for the capture of General Suleiman Akima for what they are calling terrorist activity.

"The Unionist Congress is offering 10 million in Federal credits to any person or party that hands over General Suleiman Akima alive to Federation officials. General Akima is a terrorist ring-leader and has already caused the deaths of Federation citizens as well as citizens of our allies. Furthermore, General Akima has made gross human-rights violations against the various ethnic tribal groups in the territory of Shabwah. It is our firm belief that General Akima is a main factor in the continued unrest of the Shabwah territory and if removed, the various people of the territory can very well move forward in peace towards a democratic and free government." The statement was made at a press conference held on the steps of the Federal Tower, the main government complex of the Federation. Senator Gervais Bukindu of Rwanda gave the statement. The former presidential candidate made clear that this statement did not reflect the sentiments of the Federal Senate, nor the Federation Council or the Defar Government. It did however, in the Senator's words, reflect the growing outrage and frustration the people of the Federation have over the issues in Shabwah. "The Unionist Congress would like to ensure the people of the Federation that we understand their frustration. We understand that they demand justice for the lives already lost in this unthinkable and unspeakable time of terror. We understand that they want to see General Akima pay for the lives he has senselessly slaughtered and for the unrest and instability he has created here in Africa. That is why the bounty which we are offering in under the condition that General Akima be presented to Federation officials alive. If he is dead or severely harmed in any way before being turned over to Federal officials, the bounty will be forfeit. Many of us in the Federal Senate are already working on filing formal charges against the General as a war criminal, to be presented not only to our own court system but to ICON as well."

The states and bounty issued by the African Unionist Congress comes at a time when the Defar Administration has already issued their own ultimatum against the territory of Shabwah and the various fighting terrorist factions. With the timetable expressed in the ultimatum drawing near to its expiration, many are questioning whether or not the President will actually send the Federation to war. Analysts believe the Unionist bounty is a direct response to the growing fear that the Federation will ultimately do nothing in this conflict. Many in the Congress feel that given what the Federation has already lost, they must intervene. There is, however, some division amongst the Unionist ranks on exactly what the intervention should look like. However, the Unionist are not alone in their belief that the Federation should intervene in some manner.

Recent polls show that most Federation citizens favor some sort of Federation intervention into Shabwah if only for humanitarian aide purposes. A smaller amount not only favor the humanitarian aspects of intervention but also to personally hunt for and capture General Akima, so that he may be brought to the Federation and stand trial for crimes against Federal citizens. Polls also show however, that many Federation citizens worry that the Federation does not have a clear strategy for victory in Shabwah. That intervening in the conflict will only go to create a costly war and eventual peacekeeping mission if the war ends in the Federation's favor. Most disturbing is the though of having to occupy the territory until such time as free and fair elections can be held. If so, many wonder who in the territory will run and what sort of agenda they might have. With the clock ticking down to the zero hour in Aksum, there seems to be a general consensus that there are farm more questions than there are answers for the Federation people.

_________________________________________________________________________

With the timetable expired and the Unionist bounty gaining popular support across the Federation, it was clear to the Defar administration that the Federation had to act. That its friends and allies had been successful in saving the remaining hostages was a relief though in the end it made little difference. Officials with the Federation's Tactical Command were already working on the logistics of an assault on the territory of Shabwah. While preparations were being made for the ground offensive, the Federation's navy was already mobilized into action. The same task force that had only previously been sent towards the Gaedic Caliphate was once against sent from Federation waters. This time, the ships were not sailing far at all as their target was Shabwah waters. The navy was going to blockade the coast of Shabwah to cut off the various warring factions from outside aide. Though it certainly wouldn't cut the nation completely off from the outside world it was believed it would severely demoralize the fighting factions when the basic necessities such as food and water become even more hard to come by. Though Federal Intelligence was sketchy on the exact composition and strength of the Shabwah navy (if one existed at all), the Federation's task for decided first to setup the blockade in international waters. If and when it could determine Shabwah naval strength, Federation's ships would engaged if fired upon with the determination of destroying whatever fleet Shabwah had and gaining supremacy of the waters. With Federal ships taking position, the Federation made the first move towards conflict with its neighbor.

"Work is the curse of the drinking classes."

The Republic wishes to caution its friends and allies in the Federation and the African Unionist Congress against the promotion of vigilantism. Structures exist with which to see the Shabwahiian Conflict close peacefully and it is that methodology which should hold our attention. A unified effort, with international sanction, is the best path forward.

General Muhammed Aliman of the U.A.E Army had reached out to president Defar of the African Federation in regards to a plan the Amirati military had devised in order to handle the growing issue in the Republic of Shabwah. They begin assembling as much info that they can on each of the refugees and interview each of them in order to properly choose those they deem “fit” for work. They choose seven men to be the leaders of a internationally backed militia outfit. To be known as "The Shabwahiian Seven” who are to lead the Alakashi Militia. The plan is to recruit a group of seven refugees representing each tribe to lead a counter militia in the republic of Shabwah. The miliary along with the A.I.A (Amirati Intelligence Agency) want to recruit military aged males from each of the refugee camps to head to the U.A.E for military training, from there they would be sent to Republic of Shabwah to begin combating other militias and the military of the Republic of Shabwah. The newly recruited refugee warriors would have to then go and further recruit villagers within the nation in order assist in their rebellion.

The goal would be to lead a well funded proxy war against the Republic of Shabwah.

-Establish a successful democracy
-Equal rights for everyone
-Religious Tolerance
-Voting
-Sufficient Military
-Economic Stability
-Humanitarian Aid
-Strong Centralized Government
-Killing of the leaders in the current government

General Aliman just waited for the approval of the president of the African Federation.

Angered by the actions of the Amirati and Gaedic states, General Akima had grown impatient. He called in his war advisors.

"We need to do something about this, they are conspiring against me...AGAINST MY STATE! MY FUCKING BIRTH RIGHT! I'll be damned if they take this from me. They'll have to take the power from my cold dead hand, and I will go out in a blaze of gunfire and there will be many of their troops dead if they choose to stomp upon my sovereignty once more".

General Akima's war advisors had simply taken notes and sat patiently without emotion. They didn't wish to go against his decision, after all, he was the president and they all were of the same tribe so loyalty is what mattered most to them. They were going to figure out the best way to handle the recent actions of the Amirati and Gaedic states, and if that meant going to ICON to sort out their issues, they would.

Meanwhile, the Serpent Brigade of highly trained infantry troops had taken the border region with the African Federation from the control of the Halikhatta tribe. They now conducted patrols and got into minimal combat with the remaining militia members in that particular region for that tribe. It was only a matter of time before the militia would retaliate and attempt to take land back from the governmental forces.

Official Statement

The Gaedic Caliphate applauds the proposition set by the Amirati nation to push for a proxy war within Shabwah. The Caliphate wishes to collaborate militarily and economically to ensure that the end result of the operations culminates in peace and follows the principles set by the Amirati's as potential resolutions.
