Amil Caabade- Leader of the Ansura militia which membership is 35,000 Idriss Benbouali- Leader of the Xsayarsa militia which membership is 34,567 Salim Abudi- Leader of the Greco militia, membership is exactly 28,600 Ali bin Fareed- Leader of the Balashi militia, membership is 45,500 Christoph Babineaux- He's a mulatto member of the group and the leader of the Defans militia, which membership is 12,300. Samu Akawa- Leader of the Yahota militia, which membership is exactly 7,300. In 2013 after years of being oppressed by the Duafa family regime the leaders of the Qarsi tribe and now Commanding General Suleiman Akima broke into an armed conflict which took place in the north of the country. The Balashi militia was formed by 27 year old, Ali bin Fareed to combat the government forces which represented the Nynee tribe and the Duafa family. Banding together, gathering weapons and receiving funds they came together to fight the Nynee tribe and the government forces that stood in defense of them. The forces battled out in the northern Sahara region of the country where all of the towns were inhabited by the Qarsi tribe members. Increased shelling of towns, villages and the main city upset members of the Qarsi tribe and adding to the membership of the Balashi militia, members of the Qarsi tribe in the central region of the country travelled up north to join the fight with the militia. With that Ali recognized the feeling of unity in the tribes hatred of the government forces and Nynee tribe and so he expanded Balashi militia operations to the central region increasing war efforts there. Video surfaced online of the conflict showing Shabwahian troops killing innocent men, women, children and the elderly members of the Qarsi militia. Which lead to an increase in membership. Other tribes wishing to terminate the government thanks to years of oppression formed their own militias. The second to do so was the Darfuri tribe which formed the Ansura militia lead by 24 year old Amil Caabade. He claimed a Sudanese state was necessary, they cannot sit back and let the tyrannical Duafa regime rule over them, it's been far too long. With that he gathered together a militia with funds from Sudanese cities and weapons given to them by members of the tribe or claimed in battle with government forces. With that warfare finally broke out in the eastern portion of the country which is where the tribe resides, government forces killed numerous civilians which lead to support of the Ansura militia against the military and adding to their increased size. The Toua people's upon witnessing the Qarsi increased militancy formed their militia to fight off both the government forces to succeed and to fight the members of the Balashi militia since they often clashed with their tribe. Government forces began fighting them as well and attacking their cities and towns. Ahmed Benbouali, 35, formed the Greco militia and made everyone come together in the fight against the government and Qarsi. 38 year old Idriss Benbouali of the Bab tribe decided in order to get fair treatment of the Berbers in the republic they needed to fight. He formed the Xsayarsa militia to stand up and fight. He also recognized the power of the Ansura and Balashi militias and so began attacking them as well adding to the instability. The Greco militia fought the Xsayarsa militia in order to stop the militia advancement increasing the stability. Christoph Babineaux 26, out of wanting to once again establish governmental control or representation for the Gumeysigii people. He formed the Defans militia in order to protect his people from the attacks of other militias and to take control of territory of his own in order to be able to establish their own country once more. The Gumeysigii had faced years of retribution and attacks after the revolution took them from power and sent European colonials away. They were descendants of mixed heritage, due to mixing with African and Arabic natives and European colonials owing to their speaking of the French creole dialect. The Defans militia lead by Christoph decided to attack the Ansura, Xsayarsa, government forces and the Greco militia in an attempt to establish power. Due to the resentment the Halikihatta tribe faced over the years they formed their own militia lead by the 45 year old Samu Akawa. He created the Yahota militia to defend the Halikihatta tribe, which meant standing guard in their villages and towns and sometimes killing hundreds of civilians from the other tribes. So far the conflict has torn the nation apart, casualties amongst the militia and civilians are high. The Qarsi tribe suffering a total of 16,780 civilian deaths and 5,698 militia deaths. The Darfuri people suffered the second greatest number of deaths as they attempt to establish their own Sudanese state. Taking a total of 20,090 civilian deaths and 3,450 militia deaths. The Toua people suffered casualties amongst their civilian populace the least, so far, as 578 civilians have been killed versus 1,245 militia deaths. The Bab tribe has been taking numerous casualties, with 14,567 civilians killed and 7,899 militia deaths. However their moral remains high and more of their people join the militia to fight the government forces. The Gumeysigii people have taken a large amount of casualties with 2,400 civilians killed and 2,000 militia killed. Finally the Halikihatta tribe has been relatively untouched by the conflict though their people have been killed by other militias and government forces. This has ultimately lead to an increase in the support of their militia by their people. 5,074 civilians have been killed and of the members of the Yahota militia that they formed, 415 have been killed as they don't engage in combat and rather attempt to protect their people instead. Though this is expected to change as the conflict gets worse, which will eventually force them into combat. The Army of Shabwah, referred to as the governmental forces have taken little to know casualties at all. A total of 1,100 troops have been killed. Another 1,900 have been injured but have been deemed fit to return to duty. Edited by Republic of Shabwah, Nov 19 2015, 07:03 PM.

The Shabwahiian government forces began intervening in the civil unrest after members of the Qarsi tribe revolted. The military attacked civilian targets effectively killing some additional 540 members of the Qarsi tribe. Fighting in the capital city of Shablah continued with increased shelling of Balashi militia controlled zones. After some two days of battling the Qarsi zones were captured by government forces causing the members of the Balashi militia to flee to the outskirts of the city before planning another assault. Rather than face the Shabwahiian army, Balashi militiamen attacked the Ansura militia who had effectively stayed fighting government forces to a standstill in the eastern portion of the country, taking many civilian casualties. The Balashi and Ansura militias began battling in the town of Filitah after the Ansura victory over the Shabwahiian army causing them to retreat to the town of Nikobela. Video's showing RPG attacks from both sides, sniping each other from buildings and machine gun attacks surfaced on the internet. Militiamen from both militia's riding around in technicals attacked each other in the streets and drove around with some fifteen members on the back armed with Kalashnikovs and RPG's. Many refugees have begun fleeing the fighting to the mountains of the eastern region. There are estimates of some 30,000 refugees retreating to the mountains to avoid the broad daylight gun battles and rocket attacks. Just last night a rocket attack from an unknown militia was fired into a market killing 45 civilians and wounding 100 more. Taccom HQ, Aksum, The Federation... Posted Image The Federation had no formal relations with the Shabwahiian people or its government, though given their proximity to the heart of the Federation the interest was certainly there. People were dying, civilians as well as soldiers, and that was a concern for the Federation. Of greater concern was the simply fact that the Federation was on the very doorstep of this conflict. There were members of the Federation's military command that worried the border was at risk, a border which was at the very core of the Federation. Though they'd seen no increase in activity yet, there were those that worried refugees would soon be attempting to cross the border and that the Federation was not prepared for that kind of increase in people. Still in the refugees came, the President was prepared to welcome them as best as was possible by her government. That was the message that she was making very clear to her joint chiefs and other military advisers as they sit on the issue. There were some in the group that believe the Federation should intervene, that the Federation should help to not only bring about peace but help the build a democratic government accepting and helping of all the groups of the nation. Others believed that the Federation had an obligation to uphold the sovereignty of Shabwah and stay out of the situation entirely, instead simply keeping the borders tight and welcoming those refugees that may come. At the end of the conversation, the President sided with the latter rather than the former. Federation aide would begin amassing tents, blankets, medical, and food supplies and begin planning a site to setup a camp. Border patrols along the shared territory would increase and the government would release a statement to the Shabwah people, government, and the world on their stance over this civil war. ___________________________________________________________

General Suleiman Akima ruling dictator in the Republic of Shabwah responded to the Federation's statement almost instantaneously. "We are talking about civil war, this is our war, not your's and we believe firmly that refugees from the Republic attempting to cross over into the Federation are indeed enemies of the state. We don't support them and they will be subject to arrest for abandoning their country". General Akima made this statement just a few minutes after news of fighting between government forces and the Greco militia of the Toua tribe began in the town of Gaeedi. The Toua who are Shia Muslims often clash with the Qarsi tribe and have been battling with the Balashi militia belonging to the Qarsi tribe in the Toua native of the north eastern province. Government forces entered the town with their BTRs, tanks and on foot and began targeting Toua civilians, literally running down the street shooting at fleeing civilians. They shot the civilians in their backs and then began battling the untrained Greco militia forces that came to fight for their people. The government forces battled with them for hours and hours, nearly till day break with shelling and gunfire erupting through the night. At day break the Greco militia retreated to the desert of the outside of the city. They had lost hold of one of their native towns, in the process of the Siege of Gaeedi by government forces-1,004 Toua civilians had been murdered in their homes and on the streets. Many who had hid were shot to death, others were arrested and executed in the center of town. A total of 400 Greco militiamen had fallen in the conflict along with 120 Shabwahiian troops. They reaffirmed control over the now heavily damaged town. Meanwhile the Ansura and government forces had battled for control of the city of Fitilah once more, however government forces through six days of heavy combat managed to keep control of the small city with a population of 70,500. The fighting to retake Fitilah lasted six days with sniper battles between government forces held up in buildings and Ansura militia forces in the brush on the outside of the city. Hours of shelling from both sides took place along with the exchange of Kalashnikov fire. In the end the Ansura militia maintained their position on the outside of city having taken 84 casualties in the six days of fighting. Government forces suffered 37 deaths and no injuries. Shabwahiian military forces consisting solely of members of the Nynee tribe attacked refugees fleeing to the southern portion of the country with hopes of crossing over into the African Federation seeking political asylum. The military forces had been attempting to stop the refugees, as General Suleiman Akima referred to them as enemies of state. The government forces surrounded the group of 103 refugees coming out of the town of Alos and held them at gunpoint. They handcuffed them and then pointed the muzzles of their AK-47s at their heads, they were shot at point blank range and died immediately. Posted Image A Shabwahiian soldier steps on the neck of a dead refugee on the road outside of Alos In other news the battle for the town of Amil with a population of 37,980 people, was a success for the Greco militia who successfully repelled the Shabwahiian government invasion. The battle lasted for ten hours and caused a total of 340 Shabwahiian soldiers deaths, retreating soldiers grabbed however many dead they could before leaving the town. Those soldiers whose bodies were left behind were dragged through the streets after their comrades retreated and their bodies were desecrated. The leader of the Greco militia, Salim Adubi, a mixed man of Berber and Sub Saharan ancestry released a statement on social media regarding their success over the government forces. His quote was as follows
Shabwahiian refugees from all tribes, Berber, Arabic, Sudanese and Bantu made it to the southern portion of the country attempting to gain access to the African Federation. 11,300 of the 30,000 who had fled to the mountains were waiting to gain access to the Federation. An additional 3,400 refugees fled to the mountains, some brandished firearms as a means of protecting themselves after the government forces executed 103 refugees on the road outside the town of Alos. The Amirati government due to attempts to increase relations with African nations began to take interest in the events unfolding in the Republic of Shabwah. Amirati officials believed they were disgusting and truly were inhumane. The Amirati allies in the African Federation voiced their concerns, and the U.A.E sharing both regional influence and a bridge between the U.A.E and the African Federation were beginning to express their concerns as well. President Mujahid Ali Alsaeed was being briefed by a heads of each military branch. They had made it aware to him the crisis in the Republic of Shabwah and he made sure to release a statement condemning the actions of the Shabwahiian government, and he did so very clearly wishing not to keep his opinion subtle.

General Suleiman Akima was angered by outside parties wishing to intervene. He was troubled by it, in fact he openly stated his opinion and wished for foreign governments to accept his set of beliefs. "As I told those in the African Federation, this is civil war, this is our war, not your's the people of these tribes are ungrateful. They are wishing to bite the hand that feeds them, to tear down the government that set up this fine government. If they so want peace, then they should just accept my overall authority. The refugees are attempting to defect to other countries, and we will not be accepting of that. Those attempting to flee will be shot and killed on site, no questions asked. We, The Republic of Shabwah, do not wish to dish out our dirty laundry. This is our problem, and I will ultimately deem how to solve it. It shouldn't be of concern to anyone in the international community. Those who wish to come here and fight with us, I give them my blessings because we will be waiting and we are willing. This is our conflict, we will solve it however we deem necessary". Meanwhile as 11,300 refugees attempted to cross into the African Federation, a major stampede occurs in which 1,203 are trampled to death and 817 more are injured. Shabwahiian troops attempted increased fighting in the capital of Shablah being locked in combat for exactly three days against the Qarsi militia. Posted Image |

The Amirati government is encouraging an investigation of the growing situation on the ground in the Republic of Shabwah. The Amirati think tank Arabian Peninsula and Horn of Africa Investigative Council (APHA) a non for profit think tank, is attempting to launch the investigation into the situation occurring in the republic of Shabwah. They want to establish the investigation which is to be lead by members of the Amirati think tank, members from an African Federation think tank or government agency, Capetonian think tank or government agency or a Gaedic think tank or government agency. This way they can get full information not being disclosed by the Shabwahiian government. The situation on the ground was deteriorating, and so was stability in the region. Officially learning what was truly going on in the republic was to be essential to establishing a side to support by international governments wishing to change the outcome of the civil war for the better of regional politics. Fifteen of the 670 members of APHA were selected to head into the Republic of Shabwah now they waited for members of the Capetonian, Gaedic, African Federation think tanks to join in with limited numbers due to funding reasons. In total, based on earnings from funding by Amirati business people, consulting research related to their projects, and advocacy groups to APHA, they only had a total of 3 million Alijadins to work with on this project as they were separate from the government and didn't receive government fundings for their projects. OOC: I will start a thread pertaining to the set up of the think tank that will be mobilizing to The Republic of Shabwah. I encourage the Greater Cape and African Federation to send members of a particular think tank or government agency to assist in investigating the situation. Also try to keep members that will be sent to the U.A.E 20 and under to avoid a large investigative team. APHA has allowed for the ninety-five Arab-Africa Council members to join them in the U.A.E as they prepare to gather information and await the arrival of other members from other international think tanks. The APHA would begin briefing members of the Arab-Africa Council on what they will be doing in the republic. Edited by U.A.E, Nov 21 2015, 11:41 PM.

____________________________________________________________ Taccom HQ, Aksum, The Federation... With the border now more welcoming, the Federation was now seeing new faces as they made the dangerous journey to the Federation. A tent-town was erected almost overnight and medic workers were now treating the hundreds that already made it across. Everyone was checked by the military and those carrying guns were forced to give them up or turned away. So far everyone complied as they were traded guns for bread, for water, for safety. The reports returning to the Federation's capital were troubling to say the least. Many of those that the aide workers were treating were individuals severely malnourished and had wounds that clearly told the story of repeated beatings. Of those willing to talk about it to the aide workers, a clear picture of utter terror was being painted. These people had been enduring years of abuse, many simply because of the "tribe" they represented. Others made it clear that while the violence was already bad to begin with, it was being made worse on those attempting to escape the country into the Federation. Already a few border patrols had heard the gunfire and even seen some soldiers chasing individuals making a run for the border. It was had for many of them to simply stand there and do nothing as they watched these individuals fire upon helpless civilians but they knew they simply could not fire over an international border. What was perhaps the most heartbreaking were the bodies of those cut down only yards away from the border cross, bodies that were now left out there to rot under the sun as a reminder of the risk of running towards the Federation. These reports painted a seriously grave picture in President Defar's mind and only went to confirm her fears of the rate in which this civil war was deteriorating into savage brutality. Those that believed the Federation needed to act now had all the support they could have ever wanted, those had previously argued against it now abstained their objections in light of the growing evidence of human abuse. "Ladies and gentlemen it is becoming painfully obvious to me that this situation no longer begs the question of 'should we act' but instead 'how we should act.' The people of Shabwah are being brutally and savagely cut down by their government and by other elements of their society that does so simply because they seem them as 'different.' This is not only inhumane but is also the kind of barbaric actions to which the Federation has also hoped to help Africa past. We are nation built of the foundation of cooperation between all elements of our society. Muslims and Christians, Hutu and Tutsi, Ethiopians and Eritrean; we all work together not the for the self interest of ourselves but for the interests of all people. We are Africans, united by the ideals of liberty, justice, and peace. This are the basic rights of all human beings and we cannot deter in our responsibility to upon these rights whenever they are threatened." "However" Defar stated in a somber tone, "just as with the situation in the Sundanese badlands to the north of Shabwah, I will not authorize any action that is not established within a clear course for our people. I am being made painfully aware that we have little to no intelligence on the inner workings of the Shabwah state. We know very little about the various factions currently at war. We cannot act until we know more and we cannot act unless we know that there is at least one side of this civil war that holds the same values as we do and that we can help, via whatever aid necessary, to build a productive and democratic state for the Shabwah people." "Madame President it is true that we do not know as much as we should about our neighbors" Director Benjamin Kambezi of the Office of Strategic Services stated after a moment of silence among the group. "What little we have gathered over the years is aged however, thankfully through the interviews we are conducting among the refugees we are getting a better picture of the current situation. We believe that our best bet at helping the Shabwah towards peace is finding a way to unite the lesser tribal factions against the more dominant ones. We believe, it we could convince the Darfuri, Bab, and the Halikihatta to work together, perhaps even with the Gumeysigii people; then we'd have a viable united front against the oppressive Nynee, their enemies the Qarsi, and the highly aggressive Toua. What I am proposing Madame President is that you allow us to send some OSS agents into Shabwah to make contact with leaders of these groups." "I imagine the risk would be high" Defar commented. "Yes Madame President, after all the country is a war zone. However, our agents are highly trained and would fair far better trekking across the countryside that your standard refugee. Plus they'll be armed with the basic essentials for survival in this sort of environment." "Director have your agents make their preparations" the President stated as she rose form her seat. "In the meantime I want more concrete intelligence, lets send what we have to our allies and see if they have anything new to report that we haven't seen yet. Also increase our presence along our border, I want to show the Shabwah dictatorship that we aren't willing to back down from this situation and are more than capable of protecting our borders and those that cross it from terror." "Yes Madame President....." |

From his Presidential office in Cape Town, Kameron Mkeba became more discouraged with every news update coming from the civil war in Shabwah. The prospect of sending an investigative team into an active war zone bothered him, especially when the leadership of Shabwah explicitly denied any international intervention. He was torn; should he risk the safety and security of his fellow countrymen and -women who would be sent on this potentially doomed investigative mission or should he acquiesce to international pressure? Although the Republic of Greater Cape had historically followed suit with whatever international actions the Federation of United African Nations had done or suggested, the southern African nation had recently forged its own path in foreign relations by declining to participate in a multilateral peacekeeping mission to the occupied Sudanese badlands. Once again, President Mkeba believed his country had to take its own path and think about the better good of his compatriots.

"Alright then, our allies in the Greater Cape refuse to assist in sending some representatives to join the APHA mission in the republic of Shabwah" said Dr. Mohammed Nassim a professor of international law at the Royal Sharyan University of Friendship for International Relations and Studies Institute in the U.A.E. Professor Nassim was a volunteer who was going to be leading the diplomatic mission into the Republic of Shabwah to firmly establish a side for the U.A.E and her allies to support on the ground. APHA had sent a total of 200,000 Alijadins to a Shabwahiian security firm that is a branch of the Toua tribe militia. They were to provide security for the members of think tank that were heading into the republic to investigate war crimes and gain a side in the situation. The United African Federation had sent an additional five members to the APHA training seminar and to join the Amirati think tank delegation in the republic. It was a dangerous mission, and all who volunteered were aware of it, but for the greater good of humanity they went on. The delegation of fifteen Amiratis, ten Gaedic volunteers who had been further selected from the 95 and five Federation citizens were to arrive in the capital of the Republic of Shabwah and begin touring, interviewing and gathering information and documents on the conflict taking place. The security officials from the Republic of Shabwah were armed with AK-47s and RPGs. The delegation were to be driven by hired drivers in five Toyota Land Cruisers, four of which would carry members of the delegation, and the last would be carrying eight security officials who were hired to protect the delegation while they were in country. The other 95 members of the Gaedic think tank volunteers stayed back in the U.A.E to help process information with the board of directors on the conflict. With that after days of training and going over safety procedures and how to properly write up documents the team of 30 left to the Republic of Shabwah on board an Amirati Airlines (Amirati national airline) Boeing 777 and took off for Shablah the capital of the Republic of Shabwah. They were the only one's on board and so they took the 3 hour flight to discuss what would be happening once on the ground and following up on information relating to the conflict. The delegation landed safely and were greeted by their eight Shabwahiian bodyguards, five drivers and for some reason children... dressed in vibrant colors and they were singing. They were children from the Toua tribe in fact they were family members of the bodyguards and drivers. They entered the four white Toyota Land Cruisers that were to be taking them around and headed off to their hotel in Shablah. The sounds of mortar rounds landing and gunfire going off in the distance reminded them they were in a war zone. The smells of burning wood and other materials filled the air, some people went about their daily business and to the markets despite the fact dead bodies laid dead on street corners with their AK-47s still in hand. Rubble from destroyed buildings were all over, and running water streamed out to the streets softly fro under the rubble in a brown color. Sparks could be seen flying from the exposed wires of leveled buildings, and militiamen road around openly on the backs of technicals dangling onto turrets and their weapons. The car of security were in front and lead the delegation through the crowded and chaotic streets of Shablah. People tested firearms in the distance at the black markets once again reminding them of the location, they weren't that far away from the U.A.E, GCU and the United African Federation though it seemed they were very far from home indeed, none of them had ever known war. The SUVs turned and arrived at the gates of an old rundown looking blue hotel building. The fluorescent letters had fallen off or were damaged. Instead in red letters was the words Jubba Hotel. The hotel which stood only six stories was built in the late 1950s during the European colony era and once catered to many travelers and business people. The gates were guard by two scrawny men armed with AK-47s attached with a string and wrapped around the stock with gray duct tape. The driver of the security SUV exchanged a few words before one of the men looked up. He had smiled and allowed them through. It was a smile of comfort one showing their great appreciation of having the delegation arrive secretly into the Republic of Shabwah wanting to help their people. The SUVs raced down the straight path and turned to be under the concrete awning which offered guest shade from the African sun. The security got out of their SUV and entered the building. Mind you the drivers were armed with Skorpion submachine guns to offer further protection and so they waited in the drivers seats just in case. One guard with his AK-47 stepped out and signaled for them to exit the cars and join them in the lobby. The lobby was empty, in fact nobody was staying in the hotel, there was sign of years of neglect and only two workers were present at the front desk. The two men each had an AK47 behind the counter. After a few minutes of talking in the Toua language the guards led them to their rooms located on the sixth floor. The guards and drivers each would stay with the delegation in their separate rooms. Professor Nassim entered his room, the Juba hotel wasn't modern at all they hadn't used key cards for the doors but rather regular keys. Dr. Nassim didn't mind, it was to him a place to sleep. He sat down for the first time in over sixteen hours since he was beginning to prepare for the mission and still packing clothes. Dr. Nassim pulled out his laptop and began writing his first log. It was at this point that he began to recognize that he was in a war zone and would have to live in one for four weeks, just a little shy of one month and today was only day one. Just as Dr. Nassim fell back onto the bed and closed his eyes a Shabwahiian army Kamov Ka-50 gunship flew over the hotel and fired a missile towards a building in the distance. This was war and this was exactly what the delegation had come to take pictures and write memos on. Edited by U.A.E, Nov 23 2015, 06:21 PM.

The Parliament and People of Porcu condemn the outbreak of hostilities between the various militias and the government of Shabwah in the strongest possible terms. The Republic gently cautions its friends, allies, and colleagues in the region to not act rashly. The Republic is determined to see a peaceful resolution to the conflict and to that end is willing to entertain proposals to that effect. Additionally, the Republic wishes to draw attention to the possibility of delegating responsibilities to ICON, thereby providing legitimacy to a truly international effort. The Republic applauds the recent actions of the Federation of United African Nations and is eager to assist in any way deemed necessary. |

The President has also convened the whole Joint Chiefs of Staff to discuss the military mobilization need to enforce the Libyan responces along with the possible strategies the that would be used to enforce a ceasefire upon both sides of the conflict. |

Shabwahiian forces continued their brutal campaign. They entered upon the village of Akhma a Qarsi village in the north of the country. Gunfire erupted and civilians were rounded up from their homes they were placed along the road outside of the village overlooking the whole area. A total of 350 Shabwahiian soldiers had entered the village. Two Shabwahiian T-34 tanks rolled into the village and began leveling the buildings. Thee infantry soldiers who had accompanied them began shooting the Qarsi people in their heads, it was retaliation for the Qarsi uprising. Just as the soldiers finished executing 213 civilians over 1,500 Balashi militiamen drove into the village on the back of technicals, they fired mortars into the village to kill soldiers and cause them to retreat. The soldiers began retreating to the desert sands just outside the village. They spun around shooting towards the militiamen who had successfully gunned down ten soldiers. The soldiers reached a sand dune and dove for cover. The two T-34 tanks had escaped just in time though one was seriously damaged. They managed to get back to base, the soldiers engaged the militiamen and though both were ill equipped Shabwahiian soldiers had a very high moral and dying for their country was not an issue. They shot back and exchanged gunfire for close to two hours. A Shabwahiian Mil Mi-24 gunship arrived to assist their brethren on the battlefield. Militiamen were taken out, in fact a total of thirty were killed by the gunship run. The militia successfully riddled the large helicopter with bullets from their Browning machine gun turrets, the helicopter lost power crashing an exploding killing all six soldiers on board. The Shabwahiian troops now numbering 120 attempted a charge but were gunned down by the 894 Balashi militiamen who managed to kill all of the Shabwahiian soldiers present. The militiamen then drove off to another village and stood by to protect the people there from a possible attack in the future. General Suleiman Akima the dictator of the Republic of Shabwah spoke out against the militia. "These bastards killed 350 Army soldiers, but we guarantee every loyalist to our cause that we will triumph over our enemies. Those in the international community want us to stop, but yet they aren't here, they aren't first hand witnesses to the death. This is not their fight, it is on our land and until they understand this I make no promises to cease fighting so not to be slaughtered by the ungrateful savages against me and my regime. I like a stern parent shall teach those who disobey order to follow the law. Until they listen I will not speak upon the concerns of the international community". |

The APHA delegation travelled the five hours to the north of the country to the village of Akhma, the security officials they had hired exited and immediately took sight of the 213 dead civilians each with a bullet in the back of their heads and one in their backs. They were men, women and children. The APHA delegation consisting of Amirati, Gaedic, and Federation citizens were shocked at the sight. Buildings no longer existed in the village, flames came from under rubble and debris. They scoured the area, taking pictures and video footage, some took notes on paper to type up their documents later. Had they though this was bad they followed a black stalk of smoke rising from the desert. The area was silent and nobody dared to speak. They climbed over a sand dune outside of the village and immediately took sight of the flaming Mil Mi-24 gunship, video and pictures were taken as they approached. They recorded and took pictures of the debris and the burning helicopter. They approached and laid eyes upon the burning bodies inside still with helicopter helmets strapped on and faces that told they had screamed in pain as they burned alive in the aircraft which had now become their graves. As they crested another small sand dune they laid their eyes upon a horrifying sight. 956 bodies laid all over this particular sight in the desert which had become a final battle ground for some. Sights like this had become prevalent all over the country and came to represent the war taking place in Shabwah. The APHA delegation took their photos of dead Shabwahiian soldiers and Balashi men dead on this desert battlefield in the northern portion of the republic. They drove back after spending ten hours on the battle ground and in the destroyed village less than 100 meters from the final battle sight. The delegation got to interview 60 villagers who had returned after their escape to collect family members and friends. The APHA delegation placed the death toll for the battle of Akhma at 1,169. At the hotel Dr. Nassim went for a shower, he was a long way from his university lecture hall on international law however he was fulfilling the career he had chosen. He shut his eyes and awoke two hours later, when he awoke the sky was black. He looked to his clock and saw it was now 12 midnight. He began writing his log for the day.

Aligider, Eritrea... Most of the refugees coming from the conflict were crossing into the Federation via the border between Shabwah and Eritrea, near the small settlement of Aligider. Located in the lowlands just south of the Gash rivier, it is considered the last settlement in Eritrea before reaching the Sudanese Border. The refugee camp setup by Federation officials sat just south of the settle itself and was well beyond the actual border between the two nations. Since opening their border to anyone willing to make the dangerous trek across the battlefields to the Federation, the camp had quickly begin to fill. Most were women and children, though a few men did come and of these, most were well aged. Barely anyone came to the camp healthy, as most either suffered injuries from the conflict or from general malnourished. The biggest worry for the officials was the spread of disease. Posted Image Already the camp was beginning to grow far faster than officials had expected. Though the Federation was already contacting and working with H.E.A.R.T for aid to be sent for the crisis, it was clear now that the government would also have to work directly with its allies. Already several had offered to assist and now Director Thomas Berhane, of the Institute on Governmental Procedures and Federation Problems was certain they would have to accept these offers if the Federation wanted to continue to help. The Foreign Secretariat was informed and a formal letter to the Federation's allies, via its embassies across the world, to get more assistance.

Once again, President Mkeba was not only taken aback by the brazen lack of decorum and tact by the Shabwahiian general but by his option to ignore his respectful plea for diplomacy. The Capetonian President's patience was wearing very thin. Before he could even call in his advisors and colleagues from other ministries in the Capetonian government, Mkeba received an official communique from his allies in the Federation. As he read the communique, he realized that, although he may not be able to do anything substantial for the people of Shabwah directly, he could at least ensure that Greater Cape could help to address the needs of Shabwahiian refugees in the Federation. Feeling slightly less perturbed, President Mkeba drafted a response to his counterparts across Africa and the Middle East.

Shabwahiian forces upset at the actions of the Halikahatta tribe in their complete opposition to the government openly since the 1970s decided to take action. Infantry forces riding in sixty humvees, 2 BTR-80s and with five M41 Walker Bulldog tanks travelled to the village of Awadagga where the Yahota militia was planning to assault a Shabwahiian checkpoint in the middle of the jungle just ten miles from the Federation/Shabwahiian border. A total of 280 infantry soldiers had travelled along with fifteen armor soldiers from the tank. The infantry soldiers riding in the humvees entered the village spraying their Browning turrets towards the civilians outside. They tried running those that did get away ran into the brush of the jungle and continued running, out of the village of 900 only 55 managed to escape and ran through the jungle to get to the next village over. A subsequent battle took place with the 120 militiamen who were present in the village. It was pretty violent with RPG's and AK-47s going off back and forth. The militiamen managed to kill 12 soldiers, but still all militiamen in the village were killed. The soldiers then went forth entering each home and shooting those hiding inside. Men, women and children were shot dead in their living rooms or where they had been hiding. Ten soldiers entered one house and a father protecting his new wife and childhood sweetheart and their two children. He charged the soldiers with a knife and he was shot thirty times in the torso. The soldiers then went and shot his wife and children, gunning the down with shots to the head. The slaughter lasted three hours and in the end thousands of rounds had been fired, tanks had fired shells at the militia during the battle and so large craters had appeared with smoke filling the sky from them. In the end 845 civilians had been killed and 120 militiamen from the Yahota militia. 12 Shabwahiian soldiers had also been killed in the fight. The total death toll was 965 people and including the soldiers 977. The soldiers took the bodies of the militiamen and set them on fire in the middle of the village. The soldiers then left back to their base located 30 miles away. Meanwhile the Greco militia of the Toua tribe had headed out towards the Xsayarsa militia compound in the city of Bennialiha. They broke through the gates with their technicals unloading militiamen and firing turrets at them. They killed all 150 in the compound and took 100 casualties themselves from there they left towards a Bab village and rounded civilians up in the center of the village and opened fire to the backs of their heads killing them. It was then that they claimed the village to be their territory now, something that would become vital to the conflict later on. |

Dr. Nasim awoke from his slumber and stared at the peeling paint in the ceiling. He turned his attention towards the blue walls which peeling paint told of their age. He hoped out of bed and placed his barefoot onto the tiled floor. He walked to the window and drew back the curtains revealing the sunlight which immediately shot across the room. He walked over towards his suitcase, grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom for a shower. Once he was done getting ready he left to the hallway towards breakfast in the dining area of the hotel. It wasn't yet 7:30 am and already artillery could be heard exploding in the distance and gunfire trailed off amongst the sounds of city life. He served himself and was soon joined by the rest of the delegation, they still were the only guest at the hotel. "The lights blew out again last night" Dr. Nassim said to Andrew Dari a Federation citizen who was one of the five Federation volunteers who joined the APHA mission. "Yes I know, seems to happen regularly, when the generators shut down and the secondary's don't start up. Most likely related to the fighting". Dr. Nassim nodded and shot back an answer "Yeah the first night I was in the shower when it turned off, we had no power for five hours. I remember finding my way out the bathroom and seeing the whole city was blacked out". "It happens regularly here" said one of their drivers. "The hot water here in the hotel also turns off and water pressure overall here is pretty low or contaminated". They were to be staying in the hotel writing up logs and uploading their pictures and videos to the database to be used for the particular APHA mission to republic of Shabwah. At 3:00 pm they got notice of an attack on a village in the southern portion of the country known as Awadagga and belonged to the Halikihatta tribe. They immediately got in the SUVs and headed out to the village. They arrived at 5:00 pm and caught sight of the horror, the soldiers had killed 965 people. Their bodies were strewn all over, the bodies of militiamen from the Yahota militia were burned with their weapons in the center of the village. They had discovered more bodies in most of the homes. They began taking video and pictures, notes and filling out logs. It was a sad sight and it was the second proof of genocide they had received since being in the Republic of Shabwah three days. They entered the SUVs and started to head back to their hotel an hour and a half away. The convoy followed it same order as always, with the security SUV riding in front as the other three SUVs carried the volunteers. Dr. Bassim riding in the second SUV began to type up his documents. |

The convoy of the delegates drove along the desolate dirt road in the jungle of the southern portion of the nation. The white Toyota Land Cruiser SUV in front drove slowly along the road. "Who are they?" Questioned a young soldier in the brush in front of them. His superior officer shot back an immediate answer "They are spies, stop them in their tracks!" With that a soldier raised up an RPG-7 and fired towards the first SUV carrying the security officials. The grenade flew through the air at high speed and logged itself between the driver side front wheel and the chassis of the SUV failing to explode but effectively stopping the SUV and the convoy. Immediately the soldiers appeared from the brush firing upon the SUV as the security hoped out shooting AK-47s and one fired an RPG killing 2 soldiers and injuring 3. The soldiers over ran the security officials who had been stunned by the attack. The drivers of each SUV had also fired upon the soldiers but had surrendered after seeing the security officials gunned down at close range. The M41 Warrior Bulldog tank that was left in the immediate area with its crew broke through the brush and knocked down trees as infantry soldiers walked out from cover on the sides of the SUVs. The soldiers who conducted the ambush all walked up to the vehicles raising their weapons towards the surrendering drivers and the delegates inside the SUV. "They are foreign!" One soldier shouts. With AK-47 barrels in their faces the delegates each exited their vehicles. White smoke stalked from under the first SUV which had carried their now dead security officials from the Greco militia. Dr. Nassim exited the SUV and got on his knees. A total of fifty soldiers had surrounded the thirty delegates. A soldier who was in the M41 Bulldog opened the hatch and peered his head out and began aiming his AK-47 towards the delegates and their drivers. The officer in charge shouted towards the delegates in both Arabic and English "Hands on your fucking heads and get on your knees!" They complied. "You guys come to my country attempting to kill my leader!". A Gaedic volunteer answered out of fear "No! No! Never!" The military officer shot him back a glare. He lifted his pistol up and fired once towards the volunteer killing him instantly with a shot to the chest. "You guys here, you are Shabwahiian nationals and you are attempting to wage war against your state! That's treason and you shall be executed!" He then pointed at a young soldier no older than 18 and demanded to him "Kill these fuckers". They grabbed the drivers and brought them to the side of the road still with their hands on their heads and on their knees. The four soldiers lifted their AK-47s in plain sight of the volunteers the pops of the AK's sounded off in the silent jungle. The drivers dropped forward into the brush... Dead. The volunteers were shaken up in fact they wished they could run into the brush and escape but couldn't without getting shot themselves. Dr. Nassim maintained a calm look, once again showing that he knew what he had signed up for and that he was content with whatever happened. With that the officer began to light a cigar and continue his policing over the "foreigners". "You guys are spies, wishing to tear down our government! Wishing to execute our president! That's not how it works! Welcome to Shabwah we do things our way. Supreme ruler General Suleiman warned the international community about intervening here. You have been warned now you suffer the consequences". He looked towards his soldiers who were very young in their late teens and early twenties. The soldiers waited for him to give the orders. He went down the line pointing to ten Amirati volunteers, two Gaedic citizens and four Federation citizens. And with that the soldiers shot those he had pointed out, killing all of them with shots to the head and chest with their AK-47s. After they were shot dead the remaining members of the delegation shrouded in fear and lowered their heads. They had seen death on a massive scale the last few days but when it was one of their own it seemed to have hit them harder, they were disgusted by the metallic smell of blood filling the air along with the smell of gunpowder. The officer looked towards Dr. Nassim who still, though disgusted, had managed to maintain a straight serious face. "Detain the rest, especially this guy, he seems to be the leader of this operation". With that the soldiers tied ropes around their hands triple knotted and shackles on their feet they then placed black bags on their heads and loaded them into the back of a BTR-80 and drove their new detainees towards a discreet location in the republic of Shabwah. The bodies of those who had been executed had been left there to rot besides the SUVs. The soldiers tossed incendiary devices into the SUVs effectively destroying them. In total of the 15 Amirati citizens sent to the republic, ten were killed and five taken prisoner including Dr. Nassim who led the volunteers on the mission. Of the 10 Gaedic citizens chooses to go to the republic, 3 had been shot dead and 7 had been taken hostage. Finally of the five Federation civilians who volunteered to go to the republic with the delegation. 4 had been shot to death and 1 taken prisoner. They arrived at the secret location and were brought to a desolate location in the subbasement of the building. It was damp, cold and completely silent. They were each placed in their own 4x6 room sealed by a heavy metal door. The bags were removed and only then did they realize they were alone in their cells. The walls were etched with tally marks, phrases and random drawings. All of the members of the delegation had been accused of being spies aiding foreign entities. They were to be subject to torture, abuse, disruption of sleep and fluctuation of the temperatures. Edited by Republic of Shabwah, Nov 28 2015, 12:55 AM.
