As the general addressed his men, the feeling of death encircled the windy, dusty base. In the middle of an unforgiving desert, lay the Akhanta Marine Barracks, home of GCU's finest. "Men and women, this is addressed for all who serve to defend our nation. We aren't historically a trigger-happy culture. We were of those who constructed great Pyramids, groomed the Nile, and ruled even up to Paradise. Now, it seems, there are those who want to see us suffer. Suffer for attempting to help our fellow Muslims. Suffer for bringing as much peace as we could to a land ruled by warlords and militants. Suffer for the goodwill, the good will of bringing tranquility when there was none. But we must remember, that during the siege of Mecca by Abraha and his forces, Allah (SWT) sent thousands upon thousands of birds carrying small clay pebbles and rained them upon his army. Abraha's army was torn to pieces like pieces of eaten straw. Imagine, pieces of clay about the size of a Quarter Feda, turning his army into eaten straw? We must defend with courage, for we are the defenders of our nation, the disciples of peace sent to protect our Ummah. There are those who wish to hurt us, but we cannot let this engulf fear into our hearts. For we have the will of Allah (SWT) to help us fight for our beliefs. We are the 'Khalifah' sent to protect our Ummah. Our Ummah which doesn't discriminate on Sunni and Shia, black or white, male or female, Christian or Jew. We only differentiate between good and evil. For we are all people of the book, and we must defend our lord's people with the everlasting grace he gave upon us. This is our identity, to live and to die, in the name of justice." President Defar's face was somber as was the way in which she carried herself. She'd spent the better part of that last few hours in meeting after meeting over the issue at hand. She did not like war, it was a nasty business. Furthermore, the Federation had never sent forces outside of its borders before save for the peacekeeping force it sent to Zanzibar two administrations before her first term. Now she was 24 hours away from order brave men and women into the Sundanese badlands. She'd called for a press conference to make her final case to the Caliphate. The Federation did not have diplomacy with the country and beyond that, she felt that she had a duty to the people of not only the Federation but also the world, to let them know what was going on and what the stakes were in this situation. Her only distraction from the current problem was when she heard the response from Porcu. That her own government had not contacted the Porcu was a clerical error more than a snub. She felt confident that the Porcu felt the same way or else she was also confident she'd have received a phone call by now. That being said, she sent word to the Porcu Embassy to have the Ambassador at the news conference, to sit along with the Libyan and Greater Cape Ambassadors. She had to have unity with all of the Federation's allies and could not allow something this minor to step in the way. Preparing herself to address the nation and the world, she took a few deep breathes before straightening she clothing and addressing her aide that she was ready. When words was sent forward the President left her office and went down the hallway towards where a small gather of reporters, Ambassadors, and cabinet members were waiting. Everyone stood before the President took to her podium and asked that everyone was seated. With the cameras focusing in on her, she smiled somberly before speaking. Posted Image "Ladies and Gentlemen of the media, honored guests, citizens of the Federation, and the world" President Defar stated, her tone soft yet steady. "Since the inception of the Federation, we have strive to build our fair nation of nations upon a foundation of liberty and justice. Indeed it was these principals which drove our founders to work for the better good, to forgo age of prejudices and instead work as one race so that our children and our children's children could be born into and grow in a world of peace. For their part I believe they can today look upon the Federation and be proud. We are a nation absent of ethnic divide, a nation built upon cooperation and understanding, a nation of progress. We are a nation that has embraced all races into our universal brotherhood. We are a nation that has extended the olive branch to nations to which we hold similar values. The Republic of Porcu, The Northern African Republic of the Libyan States, and The Republic of Greater Cape are all nations who, like ourselves, embrace what it means to be democratic. They are nations that value the voice of the people, are nations that understand that it is the government, who should fear the people and not the other way around. They are nations for whom have prospered for their choices of free and fair elections and of a government of the people. They are nations for whom the Federation calls friends and hopes dearly to always remain close to both in times of prosperity as well as times of despair." "Yet for all the prosperity of the Federation, we know that we must never forget those outside our borders that still suffer. Those that suffer under despots and warlords, individuals that seek only what benefits themselves and not what benefits the people. We must never forget that while we live in a nation that provides us with enough to eat, clean water to drink, a roof over our heads, a place to learn, and the freedom to make our own choices; others do not. We must never forget that we live in a nation that considers it its duty to protect the freedom of its people while others are afford no protection at all. It is these things that we must never forget and it is, whenever possible, these things that we must stand to fight for for those that go without for if we do not, who will?" "No doubt by now you are well aware that the Gaedic Caliphate United has sent troops to an area that is currently being designated by most government as the Sundanese Badlands. Their government claims that the troopers were apart of an operations on their war on terror. They claim the territory in question was being held by Gaesch Jamaat Islamiya and that not only have they liberated the area but that after so doing they have saw fit to annex the territory to provide humanitarian aide to the Sundanese people living in this area. The Federation, myself and my administration, have questioned the motives of the Gaedic Caliphate in this endeavor. We have exhausted our diplomatic options in sending a representative of Cape Town to, along with our allies, speak with a representative of the Caliphate, and question their intentions. This representative, under my directive, sought only to understand the Caliphate's motives in Sudanese Badlands and to stand for the rights of those people to have a say in their future. Despite these noble efforts our representative, along with our allies, were met only with vague notions and uninformative responses from the Caliphate's representative. So now with little recourse remaining I find myself here, at this podium, making this final request to the Caliphate's government. The Federation requests that the Gaedic Caliphate United agree to withdraw its forces from the Sudanese badlands and allow an international peacekeeping force to ensure the rule of basic law in the territory in their absence as well as to distribute basic humanitarian aide. The Federation also requests a referendum to be held in the Sudanese Badlands. We offer our services in establishing such a system and encourage that we, along with our allies, be allowed to act as observers, to allow the Sudanese people the right to vote for their future." "These are requests we believe the Gaedic Caliphate United can fulfill and we believe they are requests the Gaedic Caliphate United must fulfill if peace is to be maintained in Northern Africa. For if these requests are denied, then the Federation will have no other choice but to deploy its own troops into the Sudanese Badlands to not only ascertain the nature of the situation but also to safeguard the people against any humanitarian abuses they may be suffering. Such a decision is not one that we make lightly but one we feel we must make for it is the right of all human beings to have a choice in their future. To take this choice for any people is a direct violation of the basic values of our people and we shall not, cannot not, stand for it. I shall give the Gaedic Caliphate United 24 hours to respond. Thank you." No questions were asked and instead the cameras simply stopped rolling. The President did take the time to thank the Ambassadors and to ensure them all, that her government would remain in full communication with them throughout the next 24 hours. Depending on the response, they may remains in full communication even longer... |

Secretary of Congressional Court Mikael Karachev stood at the podium, cameras flashing sporadically, and news coverage airing internationally, "I would like to assure the international community, that in no way will the withdrawal of troops from the Sudanese land mass occur without the presence of an international peacekeeping force. It is simply uncalled for for the truculent Federation to seem so antagonistic as to constantly pursue military action. Indeed, the Caliphate does not take kindly to such decrepit threats, and required action to maintain Gaedi interests will remain. Unless the specific order is given by ICON or any international force, the Caliphate will not surrender the current interim Sudanese government to a nation that so blatantly disregards diplomatic resolution, preferring death and destruction upon those of humanitarian missions to pursue its 'goals'. The interim Sudanese government has been notified, and President Mugabe of the reforming Sudanese government has been informed of the situation. The full evacuation of all 3 million civilians from Darfur has been ordered, and nuclear submarines have docked alongside the Red Sea. The Suez Canal is on military lock down, and all military bases are on high alert. If the Federation wishes to ignore a peaceful resolve, then it shall occur that if they wish to cowardly strike first, then they may do so. We are simply defending a land we have been attempting to secure, and any nation that supports the cause of GJI terrorists will see firsthand the power of the Gaesch people. This is not a threat, but merely a warning. I am sure that a response from a specially designated ICON official will allow for talks to be made, and the transition of military and humanitarian authority to it's proper legitimate force. I incur 12 hours to a deadline for the Federation to respond. Thank you." Posted Image The room full of news men and women roared in loud echoes that pierced the ears of those peering in. It was close to a full onset of war, for all that was required was a spark... |

The press conference in Plac-Millaes was still abuzz with talk over the Gaedic Secretary's speech. One journalist, however, immediately arose and posed a question to the Congressional Secretary. "Mr. Secretary, Alheit van der Taal, foreign correspondent for the Cape Town Times. Given the recent inability for the ICON to act on pressing civil and international conflicts such as those in Al Whaladya, Southern Europe, and Brazil, how can the Gaedic Caliphate rely on the strangling bureaucracy of such an organization to intervene in the Sudanese badlands? My sources tell me that there is already a list of governments willing to send peacekeeping forces to the badlands so that the Gaedic military can transition out of the area." |

Plac-Millaes, GCU Posted Image As the meeting unfolded, all eyes in the boardroom were set upon the Prime Minster of State, Miriam Hasag, as she lightly sat down to accompany the rest of the attendees. Military General's, Economic Advisers, Ambassadors all sat down to join the dialogue that was occuring. A young adviser stood to give his point, "Mrs. Hasag, I believe it is quite pertinent that we speak regarding the expansion in Sudan. As you may know, I am Abdul Ibrahim, Minister regarding the Ministry of Finance. Now, I would like to ascertain the statistical value of our Sudanese 'mission'. Approximately three trillion Fedas were relinquished in the value of oil. Petroleum figures roughly stand at $15 a barrel. That means that with three trillion in oil collection, this may be quite the godsend. Along with this, private Gaesch companies have extracted seventeen billion Fedas worth of valuable minerals. Salt, Diamonds, Gold and Platinum are quite the minority in the great treasure trove of financial gains." A man rose to speak, a man known as Anwar Jibawi, Minister of Technology, "Along with this, we have also possessed ten large oil pipelines to ensure that we have enough Petroleum resources to supply ourselves until 2110. A rightful investment, indeed, however it is best that I show you a visual example. Here we have our best pipeline." Posted Image The audience clapped wildly, as everyone stood out of their seats to applaud. |

Aksum, F.U.A.N... The clock was ticking in Aksum for the President's response. Just as most in the President's cabinet predicted, the Caliphate had once against circled around the very direct question posed to their government by the President. All she was asking was for their government to agree to giving the people of the Sundanese badlands a voice. A simply referendum which would allow these people the choice to either remain free or become apart of their nation. That no one in their government was willing to even mention it, to even entertain it, only served to confirm her frees that this was an occupation that was against the will of the people. Seated around the long glass table, with its sleek metallic lines, was the President's closest advisers which included not only her cabinet, but her general chiefs. The President looked naturally distressed by the intensity of the situation warranted it. After all, she was 12 hours away from a deadline in which she had promised military action. That meant sending brave men and woman from the Federation into a dusty party of the world to fight for a cause they might not have known existed if it was for her. Still, she found comfort in the fact that each and every member of the Federal Armed Forces had sworn an oath to not only protect and uphold the Federation's constitution, but the ideals for which it stood. Truth, justice, freedom...these were what they'd sworn to fight for and this is what they would fight for. "Mrs. President as predicted the Caliphate has said nothing on our demands" Foreign Secretary Nuru stated. "Again its as if we aren't even talking to their government. Their statement focused solely on our request for troop withdraws and said nothing about our request for a referendum." "Also it is of note that they have indeed bumped up their security" Defense Secretary Tadese stated. "They have put warships in the red sea and have blockaded the Suez against Federation ships. Naturally, we don't have any warships in the area but it is something to note that commercial ships flying the Federation's flag have been warned to say away." "Yes and those ships in the Meditteranean, trying to return home from commerce in Europe are having to be rerouted Mrs. President " the Commerce and Labor Secretary Abdella added. "We have worked with the current interrim government in the Rift, to have our commerce ships rerouted their until this situation is resolved. Those goods that are time sensitive, will be airlifted from the Rift to Ethiopia. However, I can assure you that we should expect some losses over this. What the total financial cost will be, is something the accountants are still trying to determine." "I imagine the Caliphate will feel some effects as well" the President stated, "after all turning our ships away is loss in toll fees." "Yes Madame president, but there's no way to know for sure who will suffer more from this at this time." The President set silent, her stoic demeanor a side-effect of her contemplation over the whole situation. It was at that point that the chairman of the joint chiefs, General Mohammed Zenawi took his turn to speak. "Madame President preparations have been made to make good on your promise for a reprisal should the Caliphate fail to acknowledge our request. We've devised a plan, we're calling it Operation: Liberty Sword. Madame President as you know most of the area we've been calling the Sundanese Badlands is a mountainous region. Population, from what we can tell, is sparsely separated across this area. The only thing in the way of major urban centers, and I use that term loosely, is the ports. The ports were in no way up the standards of any modern port, but we believe in the time the Caliphate has had troops in the area their engineers have been able to construct the necessary infrastructure, abet temporary, to allow them to move in troops from the sea along with supplies. Now we only have two options in getting troops in and while the navy is more than up for the challenge, we believe an attempt at landing by sea is costly at this time. However, if you'll all turn your attention to the monitor." Posted Image "What we're proposing is dropping troops here (Green dot) in the western part of the territory being controlled by the Caliphate forces. Its remote and the nearest settlement is miles away. Due to the terrain of the area as well as its remote nature, we believe there to be little enemy presence. Furthermore as there is nothing of note, air coverage of the area we believe will not be heavy. We can get a troops dropped along with supply. Their goal will be to secure a base of command and, along with the engineers we're sending ahead, build a temporary airfield for our use. Once we secure this area the enemy will undoubtedly response with a movement of force to that area, weakening coastline troops placements. Its then that we will move in our navy and push for a landing along the coast here (blue dot). Its the only real port settlement in the area, know as Hala'ib to locals and its where we believe the Caliphate has been operating out of. Our attack from this secondary position would put the Caliphate on two front which is ideal from our standpoint." With the chairman finished everyone awaited the President's response. She remained quite, looking over the map as if to find an answer that simply wasn't there. When she finally did speak the voice was confident, steady "Gentlemen we are about to enter a war, not necessarily one that is conventional to most standards. The Caliphate has invaded a territory in the name of fighting terror. They have used this guise to mask their intent to subjugate a defenseless people and ruthlessly take their resources. They do this because ideologically they believe it is their right to do this. They believe that they are doing the right thing and for us to oppose them, is heresy in their ears. For them they are the victims when we attack, and we will be the aggressor. They will play this song to the international community for as long as they can and will entertain anyone who will listen. But I would like to assure everyone in this room, to make perfectly clear this point. We shall not, under any circumstances, allow the barbaric, militaristic, and imperialistic Caliphate succeed in becoming the victim in this situation and ourselves to aggressors. If we do this we do this under the flag of humanitarian, the only flag for which we have ever intended to fly at this time. We shall do this with the chorus of our allies, supporting us at the very least for our decision, praising us at the utmost. We will do this having rightfully exhausted all other avenues. Which brings me to Secretary Nuru...." Zera eyebrow raised as the President turned her attention solely to her. "Send word out to our allies, tell them about our status and inform them that we will ask nothing more from them in this time than they are willing to offer themselves to the cause. In form our Ambassadors in their countries to say at the ready, I want them to personally deliver everything we have to send our allies. Finally, contact our representative in our Toledo offices...." "ICON Ambassador Keikura Madame President?" "Yes" President Defar replied. "Instruct the Ambassador to go to the Caliphate's embassy offices there at once, I assume they have sent someone. Tell them I will send personal instruction on what message I want delivered, but the Ambassador is to deliver it personally to the Caliphate's Ambassador. It will be our final attempt to divert this war, if it fails then we shall have only one recourse remaining. You all have your orders, thank you." President Defar rose, everyone followed and after she'd exited the room so did her staff, everyone have a part to play. Secretary Nuru first sent phone calls, personal ones to her counterparts in Porcu, Libya, and the Greater Cape to inform them of the Federation's readiness for this conflict, their appreciation of whatever form of support they were willing to offer, and their intent to ensure true humanitarian aide came to the Sundanese people. She also informed them that she would be instructing their Ambassadors to remain frequent guests of their government building and would be their direct line of communication. After she finished her last phone call, he then called Toledo and instructed the Ambassador. Toledo, ICON Headquaters... Ambassador Keikura waited patiently by the fax as instructions came through the line. The personal communique, written by the President herself was direct and to the point. After briefing himself he then turned to his secretary. "Have my car pull around back, I don't need anyone to see me leave..." OOC: I made some assumptions in my post GCU, if anything I stated (about your troops in Sudan or anything related) were inaccurate just tell me and I'll edit my post accordingly. Also I wasn't 100% who your ICON Ambassador was so I just left that ambiguous. Also sorry everyone for the less than ideal map, I didn't really have the time to clean it up  Edited by NRE, Oct 5 2015, 12:32 AM.

The Federation's ambassador in Cape Town had made the Capetonian government aware of the Federation's intentions within the immediate future and was provided a temporary emergency post on the same floor as Prime Minister Mbuzambeki and Minister of State Shabangu. Tensions were rising across the continent as the countdown to armed conflict drew ever nearer. After taking the night to sleep on the news the Federation's ambassador had given her, Prime Minister Mbuzambeki had called an early morning meeting with the key players in the Capetonian government. In a small, private conference room in the National Assembly, Mary Mbuzambeki was surrounded by President Kameron Mkeba to her left, Minister of State Dr. Faith Shabangu to her right, Deputy Minister of Defence Deepak Mahindra to the President's left, and the Federation's ambassador to Dr. Shabangu's right. After stating pleasantries around the table, the Capetonian head of government began what would possibly be the most important meeting of her first term as Prime Minister. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming. As we are all eminently aware, this meeting is of the highest confidentiality and urgency. As the Ambassador Jacobs indicated last night, President Defar is awaiting our response regarding our abilities in the Sudanese badlands. Fortunately, Ambassador, our government understood the pressing importance of the time element in this crisis so my colleagues and I met two days ago to discuss how Greater Cape can aid the Federation's efforts in the badlands." "That's correct, Madam Prime Minister. On behalf of Minister Nxesi who is in Oudtshoorn with the Libyan military officers, I can speak to Greater Cape's military support capabilities. As you can see in this briefing before you, Ambassador, Greater Cape's military is not very large but, fortunately for us and for the Sudanese people, it is very specialized. We believe that we will be able to supply a large enough contingent of military personnel to the Federation's efforts without compromising the safety and security of Greater Cape. As you can see on the next page of your briefing, possible scenarios involving a Gaedic attack on Capetonian soil are so improbable due to geographical distance. As such, we feel confident that sending upwards of 1,000 Capetonian units to serve as logistics officers, military police, and medical personnel will not strain our defence forces. The only concern involved, Ambassador, is the logistics regarding transporting our personnel up north. Fortunately, we have contacts and agreements with local bus companies to transport our units to Lesotho but we would need to rely on Federal air transport to the north of the continent," Deputy Minister Mahindra detailed. "As you can see, Ambassador Jacobs, our desire to support the Federation's efforts are strong," President Mkeba added. "What is more, all of the respective parties around this table have done their due diligence regarding preparing for military conflict with the Gaedis. I have dissolved the treaty that previously bound the Caliphate and Greater Cape to peaceful recourse, Prime Minister Mbuzambeki has made the National Assembly aware of what's to come, and Deputy Minister Mahindra, in Minister Nxesi's absence, has put the Capetonian military on high alert and is ready and able to support the Federation and serve the Sudanese people." "We merely await President Defar's word to act," Prime Minister Mbuzambeki concluded. OOC: NRE, I'm sorry, I didn't know (or remember?) the name of the Federation's ambassador to Greater Cape so I made it up. If you want, you can edit it to your liking or just let me know and I'll change it. |

The Ambassador of GCU to ICON briefly stood, before sitting back down. He crept his ear behind the whispering mouth of his secretary, before re-entering the podium. "I would like to address, to the leaders of the Federation and Greater Cape, that the withdrawal of a full military force will be in effect at 0:400 hours. However, it must be noted that the Al-Ahraam Air Force base, along the border of Sudan and along the Nile river, will remain active in a defensive position. Also one this list, are several other key military installations, two of which will be along the border not including Al-Ahraam, and four others spread out on the shores and coasts of Sudan to help with national threats that may rise in the Red Sea, along with the worry of piracy being conducted by GJI terrorists. More so, the first elections of the new Gaedi-Sudanese Protectorate will take place near the end of this month. The Protectorate will be a completely autonomous nation with an independent government. The Protectorate treaty will last until 2120, in which all ties will be dissolved no matter the situation that may be at hand during that period of transition. Now, to digress back to military related issues, Gaesch troops will be on limited capacity to maintain the interests of private Gaedi corporations and companies. Troops will also be stationed, albeit on a defensive stance, to maintain the ten oil pipelines constructed by GP (Gaesch Petroleum)." OOC: But yeah, like I said before, I'm in dire need of elections for this Protectorate! :shy: And don't worry NRE, my troops are just spread around pretty much everywhere, so there's no specific location. :D Edited by Gaedic Republic, Oct 5 2015, 08:56 PM.

OOC: GCU go to the top of the page and it should say append a poll and click on it should allow you to set up a poll. IC: President Turay walked waited outside the legislative chambers to be announced before he would walking into the joint session of National People's Congress to address them in hopes of calming the members before they try to force the country into an unnecessary war as the Gaedic Government was moving towards peace referendum to decide the future of Sudanese people. A few minutes Turay heard the announcement being made "Mr Speaker the President of The Libyan Republic" which was meet by applauds from the gathered members on both sides of the aisle as for once the government leaders and opposition agreed that they must exercise patients when it came to sending troops into an unnecessary war. Turay reached the podium and motion for the members to sit down before beginning "Most honorable delegates and representatives, Honorable Speakers, valued guest, fellow Libyans, ladies and gentlemen I come here before you to calm the raging storm of uncertain, rumors, and hatred that people have express regarding the Sudanese military operations of the Gaedic Caliphate United to combat GJI terrorist in the region. I come here asking that you honorable assembly members to exercise restrain and patient when deciding to enter this country into an unnecessary, costly war when a solution could be on the horizon with the Gaedic Government allowing a free and fair election of the Sudanese people to decide their fate on a regional level. While I do come here asking you to do these things I do promise you that should fair elections or a comprehensive solution not reached or held rest assure we will support our Federation and Capetonian Allies to the fullest in force the Gaedic government to enforce what they have promised" with that representatives applaud their president for trying to resolve the crisis on the two sides of debate on possible military action. |

"The Gaedic Caliphate would like to announce, for the first time, that the first Presidential Elections will occur! The people of Sudan will be able to nominate one who is of gifted talent, able to valiantly pursue the decree which asks for him to uphold his nation. At last, Sudan will find democracy!" The president looked upwards, said a small prayer, and shook hands with General Ali. The crowds cheered, from Plac-Millaes, to Darfur. Hundreds of thousands of people cheered through the streets, many emotional, for a nation at last has seen the beautiful yet veiled face of democracy. Edited by Gaedic Republic, Oct 6 2015, 05:22 PM.

For the first time in so many months, the Capetonian President, Kameron Mkeba, sat before the nation and the world in a televised address to the recent events in the Sudanese badlands in the north of the African Continent. "Ladies and gentlemen, Capetonians and Sudanese, Africans and citizens of the world, I speak to you tonight out of frustration, dismay, and disillusionment. For the past several weeks, the Republic of Greater Cape has worked ceaselessly along with our allies in the Federation of United African Nations and the The Northern African Republic of the Libyan States to convince the Gaedic Caliphate that their presence in the Sudanese badlands is not only unjust but is detrimental to the peoples of the occupied territory and the entire African Continent. During these collaborative efforts, we have tried to impress upon the Gaedic government the importance of democratic referenda for maintaining transparency, security, and stability in the region and the world. These calls for decency have not been without regional and international precedent; Even as recently as earlier this year, the Republic of Greater Cape actively engaged terrorism in Southern Africa, which ultimately led to the democratic incorporation of our newest province, Eastern Cape, into the rest of our proud nation. In spite of this, the Gaedic Caliphate chooses to ignore progress, to ignore democracy, and to ignore international appeals for self-determination. "The so-called 'election' being held in the occupied Sudanese badlands is the biggest farce of the democratic process that I have ever witnessed. Instead of calling upon the Sudanese people to decide whether or not they wish to even join the Gaedic Caliphate, the Gaedis have installed puppets for whom the Sudanese can choose to rule their occupied land. The Gaedic Caliphate has circumvented the democratic process in the badlands only to perpetuate the cycle of false-democracy and dictatorial hegemony in Northern Africa. "It is precisely because of these crimes against the democratic process, on our own continent no less, that I call upon you, citizens and leaders of the world, to denounce the Gaedic Caliphate's efforts in the Sudanese badlands. By condoning their actions, thousands if not millions of people will suffer unjustly at the hands of a government that seeks nothing more than its own selfish existence. The Republic of Greater Cape calls on the Sudanese people to not participate in this undemocratic process and the world to recognize the invalidity of the 'elections' taking place in the occupied Sudanese badlands and to work in unison with us and with others including the Federation of United African Nations, The Northern African Republic of the Libyan States, and the Republic of Porcu so as to bring about positive change for the occupied Sudanese people. "Thank you all and goodnight." Edited by Ghaselja, Oct 6 2015, 06:05 PM.

Televised on CNN, BBC and G-SPAN, President Kabir stood in front of the plated white walls, standing behind his large unison podium. "I would like to address the people of GCU today, and indeed today, is the moment of innumerable success. On this day we as a people, can solemnly declare that we have completed an extraordinary mission. A mission which has taken great lengths, the sacrifices of many, and countless hours of limitless effort. Humanity is beautiful, the great representation of the collaborated perseverance of many, to ensure that those who require sustenance receive it no matter the cost. However, on this blissful day, I must warn the Gaesch people of an evil lurking in our society. The war against GJI is not over, and I will ensure that it will not rest until the members of the GJI network are held accountable for their crimes against humanity. That there are those who seem to want violence and catastrophe for ourselves and for those we attempt to assist, and they remain existent everywhere. In a melodramatic manner, the nations of Greater Cape and the Federation have been propagandizing their baseless accusations with the sole purpose of inciting civil disarray, and forwarding their own malicious agendas. They censor those in the media that barely attempt to report on the war from the Sudanese perspective, as they are very well aware that their own trifled judgments are highly inaccurate from a realistic standpoint. Allow me to tell you, this 'axis of evil' consisting of Greater Cape and the Federation don't want to let you know that we have helped over 250,000 people start anew in their lives. Nor do they desire that the people of the world realize that GCU has allotted full control of the Sudanese democracy directly over to the people. Or maybe, the FACT that more than three million people have received the Ebola vaccine as required by the WA? These are testaments to the progress we have introduced to such an impoverished land, and progress that will continue under non-profit and private organizations. It will never occur that we will back down from the fight for civil justice, the fight for civil rights, and the right for every single human being to live without the fear of a terrorist group maiming them and taking advantage of their inability to defend themselves and their families. GCU will continue its operations to ensure that GJI will be stopped, and that people everywhere will live with the right to survive. Thank you, and please, enjoy your day." The crowd fell silent, before an uproar of cheers reflected of the surfaces of the enclosed building and echoed onto the streets. Liberal Party Members everywhere in the nation were pleased, for in the first time, a liberal president has directly confronted their enemies. Edited by Gaedic Republic, Oct 6 2015, 07:49 PM.

OOC: GCU, please do not spam threads with multiple back-to-back posts. IC: The Parliament and People of Porcu echo the thoughts and sentiments of the President of the Greater Cape Kameron Mkeba. The Republic does not view the electoral process currently underway in the Sudanese badlands, controlled and monitored by the Gaedic Caliphate, as legitimate. The Sudanese people must be granted full autonomy and self-determination. The Republic is prepared to stand by her African allies and colleagues in opposing the actions of the Gaedic Caliphate and hopes that a unified front will prove sufficient in deterring the Gaedic Caliphate from its present course. |

Aksum, the F.U.A.N... President Defar could not believe what she was now seeing coming from the Sudanese Badlands. The situation was simply spinning out of control and it seemed the Caliphate believed it could simply do as it pleased without fear of the repercussions of its actions. Defar herself had barely slept since the whole affair began to evolves, less so since talks broke down so suddenly out of Cape Town. Now it seemed she was faced with a single choice: act upon the threats of which her government had been using to incite reason from the Caliphate or not and face the damages that came with being a nation of hollow threats. While she'd applauded her joint chiefs for the work they'd already put into the strategy she'd been presented with earlier, she ultimately did not like the idea of putting books on the ground of Sudan if she could help it. She fear that too many innocent Sundanese would be caught between the fighting as fighting would undoubtedly break out. She needed a different approach, a less direct approach. "Madame President, are we a go?" Chairman Zenawi asked. "Yes" Defar replied before turning to Secretary Nuru. "Release a statement to the press...." _____________________________________________________________________________________ Toledo, ICON Headquarters.... Ambassador Keikura made sure not to draw attention to himself as he left the Federation's embassy and traveled to the that of the embassy of the GCU. Arriving, he was not sure if he'd even get to see the Ambassador as he'd been phone along the way over about how much further the situation had gone. Still when he reached the front gate of the complex, he announced himsef to the guard and asked to see the ambassador. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Red Sea... At the reception of the encrypted communique, the Federation launched a carrier strike group from its Arabian Sea Fleet. It was launched out the territorial waters of the Federation, by way of Ethiopia. Given the proximity of the coastline of Sudan, it would not take the strike force long to reach their target. _____________________________________________________________________________________

Al-Ahraam Naval Base, Sudanese Coast, Red Sea Posted Image The young private surveyed the area with his faded green binoculars. Seeming startled, he peered into the object closer. It appeared to be an unidentifiable ship. Utterly confused, he raced to the command centre before addressing. "Sir! I have spotted an Unidentifiable Naval Craft Sir!" The colonel looked at him with an amused gaze, "Haven't they told you at PT? That's a Federation ship, and as we are under orders, we are to give them full respect." The private responded, "Aye, aye! Sir!" Suez Canal, Red Sea Posted Image Radio transmission: "Attention all starborne watercraft. Full checks of all civilian ships passing through the Canal must occur, this will be instituted at 01200 hours today. Any ships carrying flags of Greater Cape and the Federation must be diverted immediately. Any Naval craft resisting these orders will be treated as hostile entities and full force can be used in self-defence. I repeat, starborne watercraft, full checks of civilian ships passing through the Canal are mandatroy as of 01200 hours today." |

Darfur, Sudan Yusuf Ankha took to the stage, all the while crowds rumbling and parties occurring in the streets. Yusuf was quite popular with the local population, who referred to him as 'Al-Idthab'. At once, he began to speak. "Fellow Nubians, embrace your culture, embrace your identity! We are people who have finally overrun the Khamesh (GJI)! No longer do our women have to cower in their homes, nor do our children have to suffer just to eat and learn. No more, for we will become a sovereign nation!" The crowds chanted the words "Al-Idthab!" loudly and bravely. "When I am elected for president, I will kick out the GJI and help get GCU out of our public and government affairs. I will ensure that education be mandatory for all our children, and I will also ensure that we will be able to grow our economy through foreign investment and trade! We are closely related to the Gaedi's you know, as we are both Nubian. Being Nubian means having a similar identity, which is why I will try to improve relations with the Caliphate to ensure that our nation has a strong ally for generations to come. Among this, I also want to help our nation become independent, so that when the time comes we can properly defend and protect ourselves from the sphere of foreign influence. I want a peaceful resolution to this crisis, and I hope that both sides can stop pushing towards the boundaries of conflict so it may not escalate into a catastrophe." Plac-Millaes, GCU "We're quite powerful" proclaimed General Ali during his private meeting with the Secretary of Defense, "We have more than four million active, reserve and paramilitary. We have arguably the most advanced army in this region, without a doubt. I honestly don't think we would even receive a dent if they try to attack us, we're quite stable indeed. Our ground forces wiped out the Allajadinians when they landed, we took out twenty thousand of them. I don't find it a problem if they wish to invade, we'll practically destroy them. They lack the common sense and discipline to follow through diplomacy, and they want war so badly. You want to know why, secretary? It's because they want to show off their weak army against us. Well, I tell you to let them. Have we EVER asked for MILITARY CONFLICT? NO! We have been negotiating peace for the past three weeks for Christs sake! They wish to engage in war because they feel too insecure about their weak, pestilent fraternity you can barely call a fighting force. They want to feel powerful, because they know that if they strike gold on these oilfields, they will make trillions in Oil revenue! It doesn't take a genius to understand their goals, but you need to understand that we have this under our control. These elections will go perfectly, and very smoothly. I suggest using Libya as a mediator to help calm tensions, then once elections occur, we can walk right out the front door! Whatever the Sudanese wish to elect, they can, and that man will lead their country to glory, at least I hope. Anyways secretary, heed my advice, and DON'T worry." International Waters, Red Sea... The Federation's carrier strike group inched as close as was possible before slowing their engines and coming to a rest just short of what would be considered Sundaese territorial waters. The lead ship, FSS Liberty sat near the rear of the formation. It was being commanded by Rear-Admiral Marcus Bedaso who, at the request of the President, was put in command of the tasks force. He was a veteran of the Ethiopian navy though that said little of his career before the days of the Federation, given that Ethiopia was barely a place in those days before the Federation's constitution was signed. That compared to his relative youth in those days, meant that the bulk of his time and training came in far more recent years. Nevertheless he was today, a Rear-Admiral and the commander of this task-force. "Admiral Bedaso" the aide stated as she came towards the Admiral, sitting in the captain's chair. "We've received a message." She handed the Admiral the message and he read it. "Must think we want passage into the Mediterranean" the Admiral replied. "Have the communication's officer state our purpose so that both sides are clear of where we are." "Aye" admiral. "Also inform AKsum that we've arrived and have all crews of this task-force informed that no one ship will fire without my expressed word" "Aye" admiral" --------------
______________________________________________________________________ Aksum, Ethiopia... President Defar sat in her office when her aide came into the door. "Madame President, this message came from the task-force" the aide stated before handing the communique to the President. The communique informed the President that the task-force had arrived and was awaiting in international waters. She turned to the aide, "any word from Toledo?" she asked. "No" stated the aide, "we've received no word from Toledo or the Foreign Secretariat on that matter Madame President." The President rubbed her forehead lightly, the situation wasn't any better than it was an hour or weeks before. ________________________________________________________________________ Toledo, Spain.... Ambassador Keikura remained patient as he awaited to hear word on whether or not the Gaedic Ambassador would see him or not. Edited by NRE, Oct 8 2015, 02:24 PM.

Toledo, Espana ______________________ As the crisp, black Mercedes S55 4-MATIC rolled onto the oavement, it was very clear who had arrived. A man of importance, of power, and most of all, of wealth. Creeping towards a halt in front of the embassy, a bald man of African heritage got out of the automobile and retreated into the building, opening the black glass doors with perfect elegance. Standing in the tan, royalist waiting room, he was greeted by a young beautiful blond secretary. "You must be the Ambassador to the Caliphate! Allow me to present myself, I am-" The man's guard, in brute force, announced "My client needs not any in disturbance. Now, allow me to present MYSELF. I am Abdullah Khomenei, chief head of the security detail protecting my client, Yusuf Alizah, Ambassador to the Gaedic Caliphate. We know our pathway, so please, remain in absolute silence before I must force it upon you." The Secretary remained speechless, and proceeded to walk off in an embarrassed manner, nearly tripping on her matte black heels. Walking through the tan, and completely polished hallways, the Ambassador found the representative of the Federation sitting quietly and patiently in his black swivel chair. "Como estas, Ambassador Keikura. I am aware that you were aware of my impending entrance due to a message relegated to this very embassy, unless I am forsaken that the opposite is true. Allow me to identify myself, I am Ambassador Khomenei, chief representative to the Gaedic Caliphate United. I am also mindful of your ability to speak Spanish? Well, let us speak in our natural dialect. (In Spanish) Due to my mixed Nubian-Sudanese heritage, it is believed that I am most prepared to speak on behalf of the situation occurring in Sudan, is it not? Now, I want peace more than you do, but the potential catastrophe of sending the 'FSS Liberty' is quite dangerous at the least. I am not here to discuss politics, but merely to act as a mediator to discuss possible changes to the attitudes expressed between our both governments. You must understand, there is very little time to discuss this issue, and we must make the most of it. Now, I have some terms which I feel that if the Federation were to abide by, then maybe we can diffuse the tensions which are currently escalating into a matter of crisis. We will allow the FSS Liberty to dock into Sudan for refueling and other requirements, with the exception that crew members on Sudanese territory remain disarmed. Now, crew members on the ship may hold weapons of self-defense, as needed, but for our troops safety it should be known that those on land do not present a threat. Furthermore, trade embargo's will be lifted on both civilian and military vessels, as long as the Federation allots the ability for the Sudanese to elect their own president. I am not asking for the Federation to represent the legitimacy of the elections, but only allow for the Sudanese to do under their discretion. Only then will Gaedic troops be removed from a majority of Sudanese land, with the exception of Naval bases on the shores of Sudan, to fight against piracy. And of course, their abilities to engage will be strictly limited to self-defense, as is the situation occurring now. Please, ambassador, if there are certain discrepancies you wish to be changed then please express your feelings. May we come to an agreement that both sides can rely upon." Red Sea _________________ "Captain, captain! We have received a message from the 'FSS Liberty'. They wish no harm against us, at least for the moment, nor any intention of passing through the Canal!" The Captain was reading the message when the private came in, and never batted an eye will doing so. "Well boys, at least SOMETHING good came out of this bloody mess. Nevertheless, keep defensive positions, as we have since 01200 hours this morning." "Aye aye, Captain!" Edited by Gaedic Republic, Oct 10 2015, 10:56 AM.

"Ambassador Khomenei" stated Ambassador Keikura who offer a handshake as a gesture of good will on his part. "The Federation wants nothing more than for the Sudanese people to have their own elections. We are more than willing to accept the notion that the Sudanese people want Gaedic protection, that indeed they want to be apart of the Gaedic Caliphate. However, for my government to accept this, we only ask...and might I add we have ask this before in the talks that took place in Cape Town.... that your government allow the Sudanese people to have a free and fair plebiscite. Allow the Sudanese people to vote on whether or not they want to be apart of your country. Allow the international community to send observers of this plebiscite so that the results can be authenticated as both accurate and free." "If your government is willing to do this, to allow a plebiscite with the direction question of whether or not the Sudan territory wants to be apart of the Gaedic Caliphate, and your government allows representatives from the international community to enter the Sudan and witness this plebiscite, then the Federation will drop its case. In fact, not only will the Federation drop its protests against your government we will personally offer a care package worth billions to help build up this territories infrastructure. This aide package is an offer we intend to stand by no matter what the results of the plebiscite might be. Surely in the name of peace and in the name of the prosperity of the Sudanese people, your government can agree to such terms can it not? " |

"Ambassador, indeed, if your beauteous nation had proposed this ideal earlier, then this chaos would never ensue! If, and only if, Ambassador your nation can handle the formation for the observers then we can oblige. Now, the notion behind this ideal is that if GCU were to do so, the international community would be worried sick and try to determine a way to make it so that we are sending in 'corrupt' officials for propagandist goals. Please, we only wish co-operation, ambassador." |
