As the Gaedi Caliph stepped off his Lear jet onto the tarmac in Cape Town, he was greeted by Prime Minister Mary Mbuzambeki. "Your Excellency, welcome to Greater Cape. It is truly an honor to receive you to sign our treaty," Mbuzambeki said as she bowed her head and smiled. The Gaedi head of state and the Capetonian head of government were ushered into a black town car in the middle of a motorcade. On the front of the town car were two small Gaedic flags in customary fashion of vehicles transporting heads of state and government. Leading and following the town car were four motorcycles. Although there was no indication of a threat of security, the Capetonian government did not want to take any chances for this was the first official visit by a foreign leader. The two leaders exchanged pleasantries in the car as the motorcade left the airport and headed to the National Assembly in the centre of Cape Town. "I must say, Your Excellency, that I am very pleased by your government's expedited desires to sign this treaty. I sincerely hope that the relationship our two countries develop will benefit our peoples for generations to come. May I offer you something to drink? A tonic water or a locally-made ginger beer? I assure you, it's non-alcoholic," Prime Minister Mbuzambeki inquired gently. She was cognizant of the fact that the Gaedic Caliphate United was a Muslim country and did not want to offend her guest by offering an alcoholic beverage. Minutes later, the motorcade approached the National Assembly. An aide rushed to the door of the town car and opened it for the two nations' leaders. "This, Your Excellency, is the National Assembly. It is our parliament building. Here, we will go to the Assembly session wherein we will present the treaty and each of us will sign the document before the Assembly representatives. Then, once our partnership is legally bound, we will attend a brief press conference. After that, Your Excellency, we will have a wonderful dinner atop the Ritz Hotel in the renowned revolving restaurant. I hope Your Excellency finds this itinerary a pleasant way to spend your first night in Greater Cape." The two leaders were escorted by a handful of aides to the small conference room just off the main Assembly hall. Prior to presenting the document, the two leaders sat at a small conference table and were offered a relaxing spot of tea whilst the Assembly representatives organized themselves in the main hall. |

Standing in the corner, a man, hooded with a glamorous grey suit tucked above. Versace glasses glistened in the corridor, as he weaved between the crowds of people. He slowly raised his right hand, revealing a golden iPhone 7. "The traitor, he is here within us, I will make sure he pays. Maleck the Infidel will pay, Gaesch Islamiya!" He an kept his voice down, attempting not to alert authorities. Cautiously, he approached the Ritz hotel. "A fine establishment! This Ritz, such an elegant palace I haven't seen in my years". This was the Calipha, of course, the Presidential Calipha of the Gaedic Caliphate, Maleck Adem Zakariya. Lying in his bed, he pondered underneath his 24k gold roof, before asking his assistant. "When will the dinner start, and the signing?" The assistant, a blonde female with goofy hipster like glasses, responded: "It will start at 10:00, and your, um, signing will start at, uh, around 6:00 PM". "So" asked the president, "The motorcade?" The assistant answered "Two black Rolls Royces armored with your personal bodyguards of course". Maleck scolded her, "Leave now, darling, I'll wake up, and tell my guard to wake me up" "Of course sir, I will" She left, not knowing the tragedy that would follow. The suspicious man entered the fine golden tan corridor that housed the Gaedic Calipha, and with him, men dressed as police officers. He noticed the security detail stationed in front, 15 guards in total. "Don't worry brothers, we will avenge our god" Suddenly, out of nowhere, all the men pulled out MP5K Submachine guns and fired. A raging gun battle ensued, leaving two fake police officers dead and 10 guards killed. The third and final ran towards the remaining and blew himself up. The mysterious man walked past the dead slowly with a blind eye, stopping only to execute a crying guard who lay injured on the floor. He lit himself a cigarette, before busting down the door to the Calipha's room. "STOP! You, you can't do this! Killing me is like killing a thousand police officers! You're dead, I say! Dead!" The man quietly, but clearly, replied "Vengeance for my religion is all that matters, Gaesch Jamaat Islamiya!" He fired his Kimber .45, putting one bullet to the President's heart. The President stood still, stiller than any time he gave a speech, cluching his chest with his right arm. He dropped to the floor, the thump being heard all over the hall. Silence lay the winner, until a team of brave Greater Cape SWAT members rushed in. "DROP THE WEAPON!" The suspicious man stood still, before pulling out his Kimber. The officers fired, putting 232 round in him. His head didn't exist by this point, nor his torso. The team moved past, busting through the door to find the horror. The guest, the guest of their country, dead. |

OOC: I would have been willing to go with such a story arc but I didn't know this is where you wanted to go. Also, the Caliph was still at the National Assembly waiting to sign the treaty, which is hours before he would have been taken back to the hotel. I mean, we can still go with this storyline but we would have had to rush through the treaty signing...So the treaty is signed then? |

OOC: Pretty much, also, he was going to sign the arms deal in the afternoon. And yeah, I really wanted Maleck dead because I was getting tired of him. Sorry it was such a surprise, but I wanted him dead during the time I made Gaesch Jamaat Islamiya. Maybe start a civil war and insurgency. |

OOC: Oh, ok. Well, I'll make do and alter things accordingly. Also, here is the finalized treaty: Gaedic-Capetonian Treaty of Mutual Defense and Development IC: She could not believe it. She was beside herself. But a few hours ago, Capetonian Prime Minister Mary Mbuzambeki was enjoying her company with the Gaedi Caliph at the National Assembly. The treaty signing had gone off without a hitch and the Capetonian representatives were joyous over the presence of the Gaedi leader. Back at her office in the late hours of the evening, the Prime Minister had to deal with the news she had heard: a foreign leader was murdered in her country. What is worse, the Caliph and the Gaedic Caliphate United were friends to the Republic of Greater Cape. Prime Minister Mbuzambeki exhaled a long and painful sigh. She leaned forward at her desk and put her hands to her forehead. An aide knocked on her office door and she slowly raised her gaze. The aide brought in a piece of paper; he put it on her desk and, with a heavy head, left her office. The Prime Minister picked up the paper. It was an official report of the events that had taken place at the Ritz in Cape Town. As she read the specifics of the report, Mbuzambeki was overwhelmed with a rush of emotions - anger, fear, frustration. The report, compiled by the Capetonian Ministry of Defense, indicated that the assailant was a member of the Gaesch Jamaat Islamiya, the same organization allegedly responsible for the recent shooting in Plac-Millaes. As of the report, the citizenship and identity of the assailant and the two GJI agents was unknown. In total, fourteen people died that night: two GJI agents, ten Gaedi bodyguards, the assailant, and the Caliph. This was the worst violent crime to happen in the small Republic since the call to peace after the Civil War. Mbuzambeki waited several minutes before standing up and walking over to her fax machine. She placed the report into the machine and sent the details to the Gaedic government in Plac-Millaes. Returning back to her chair, the Prime Minister realized she would have the burden of releasing an official statement to the people of Greater Cape and the rest of the world. After taking some time to get a glass of water, Prime Minister Mbuzambeki began to draft the Capetonian government's official statement.

From his newly established ambassadorial office in Plac-Millaes, Ambassador Joseph Msezi drafted a memo to his assigned country's newest leader. Msezi was conflicted: he was grateful for the Caliphate's generosity towards him and his government regarding the free leasing of the building in which he wrote; on the other hand, he, like the rest of his government at home in Greater Cape, strongly valued the importance and due diligence of jurisprudence. His host nation's decision to sentence the men found in Cape Town to death without even consulting his government nor the International High Court of the ICON sent waves of unease throughout the Capetonian government. Regardless, Msezi had a job to do and his current mission was to better understand his host's new leader.
