Rustavi, Transcaucasia.... With the establishment of the Ganzia, floods of Dominigasque people came pouring into Transcaucasia and the new state. Chancellor Khalilov saw the pet project as a personal victory to his name, a place for the true people of the Dominion to start anew. The project also displaced hundreds of thousands of Abkhazians and former Russian partisans living in the region, allowing the Chancellor to quietly round them up and "relocate them" to other parts of the country. For most, this relocation meant work camps setup in some of the country's more remote locations. These people worked in some of the poorest conditions, many were already dead to the extreme nature of the labor. No one worker knew exactly what they were building, as each camp only built a component before it was ship off to official factories to assemble. Chancellor Khalilov and his official overseers however, were very well aware of exactly what was being assembled....weapons. Under the new work camp program Transcaucasia military was being expanded and rearmed. They went from three rag-tag armies that were little more than national militias to a professional army within only a few short months. Built on the blood sweat, and lives of virtual slaves; the army was assembled from some of the best and brightest all willing to lay down their lives for the new order. The blind patriotism came from the various speeches that Chairman had been making as of late, speech centered on the idea of a threat to Transcaucasia. Though he never named it directly, the Chancellor took every chance to elude to the theory that outside there border lay a growing enemy. "We must continue to grow strong" he would often state, "continue to prepare for the inevitable day that we must act to secure our own safety." Though they could not name it, many were now convinced an enemy awaited them and many were ready to fight this enemy without question. For the Chancellor's inner circle, the enemy was the CMESS. Though an ally to Transcaucasia's benefactors of Scythirus, the CMESS had done unspeakable crimes to the Dominigasque people that lived in their country. This was, for the Chairman, an unspeakable crimes that had to be punished. Moreover, the Chairman believed that a war was inevitable with the CMESS over territory the Chancellor viewed as Armenian in nature, though he was sure the CMESS wanted it for themselves. With his military now ready, the chairman now held serious conversations with his staff over the possibility of war. These conversations were now coming to a head. "Gentlemen I am told that our forces are as ready as can be expected" the Chancellor stated, looking down the long conference table to the rest of his ministers and military chiefs. "Ganzia has become a haven to all oppressed Dominigasque people however, I am told many more remain stuck behind the oppressive walls of the CMESS. We must correct this problem and liberate these people in the name of human justice." "We have been working on this problem as you requested Chancellor" Vartan Kazanjian, Minister of Defense stated. "We are in agreement that we must create a direct route with which these people can use to be free to cross into our country. To do these however, we will need to invade the Mid-East Sector." The Chancellor state back in his chair. Transcaucasia knew very little about their neighbors to the south, other than they existed. They'd been silent neighbors, mostly keeping to their own internal politics and doing little in terms of international affairs. Intelligence on them was scarce at best, but the general consensus among most was that the country was relatively weak by comparison given their isolationist nature. Still, the not knowing nature of such a mission could prove troublesome and for that reason alone many of the Chancellor's military officials had previously warned against antagonizing an state they knew virtually noting about. "I have been told invading our southern neighbors would be full hearty, has this opinion changed?" the Chancellor inquired. "Yes Chancellor" the Defense Minister replied. "While it remains we know little about them, in stands to reason that their isolation has some what limited them in terms of military hardware and technology. While they are undoubtedly armed, the military command is confident that under our suggested plan, we can achieve victory. What we are planning is an invasion of the country's black sea coastline as highlighted here on this map" the Minister then rolled a map over the table and began pointing out locations. Posted Image "Military commanders assure me that we can take the coast within a few days time, secure it within a week and have the area equipped for use in operations against the CMESS within a week and half time. This corridor would allow us to help thousands escape the country as well as give us a staging ground against the CMESS. After all, it is unquestioned that they themselves are arming for war and undoubtedly they look upon us as a prime target. Naturally, they are underestimating our ability to arm ourselves and with this corridor, we shall show them just how much they have underestimated us." The Chancellor looked over the map with general approval before laying out his own question. "If we are to invade, we need a reason to do so. A legitimate reason that the international community would need time to disprove." "We will use the water poisoning Chancellor" Hassan Ibrahimov, Minister of State Security. "We can frame their state as collaborators with the SOM for the attacks on our nation. We can claim it was their own prelude to invasion, hoping to weaken the state and make it ripe for the taking. Given their isolationist nature they have no allies to speak up in their defense and while some may try to initially disprove our claims, they will have only circumstantial evidence with which to refute our own claims. By the time the international community has time to amass an investigation, we will have their army at bay and their coastline in our hands. We'll simply agree to a cease of hostilities in exchange for the territories acquired." The Chancellor rubbed his chin before finally given a nod. "Very well, have the military prepare for the invasion at once." A resounding "As your wish Chancellor" echoed through the halls... |

Capital Zone, Mid-East Sector Not much was known to the outside world about the Mid-East Sector besides that which could be gathered by satellite and other such espionage. One thing the administration tried to keep hidden from the rest of the international community was the abundant amount of geological and petroleum-based resources that played the pivotal role in the Mid-East Sector’s existence and economy. The Mid-East Sector is itself a colony of an exponentially larger nation known as Hallistar, but is not able to be supported by it, militarily or economically, anywhere near as much as its sister colonies due to its temporal and geographical location. It often takes a year to send a full shipment to Hallistar for trading, and another year to receive a shipment. As such, it must rely on itself for defense, as well as developing an economy that ensures a good quality of life for colonists currently living there. It must also fully blend in with the surrounding nations in terms of weaponry and technology, for its true purpose and origin can never be revealed under any circumstances. The Mid-East Sector was split into several sub-sectors, two of them bordering the Black Sea, where several trading ports were located. One of them (Lambda Sub-Sector) bordered a nation known as Transcaucasia (Atleast, that’s what intelligence reports have cited its name to be), and another (Theta Sub-Sector) bordered an entity known as the CMESS. The administration had made one of its main policies historically to be on even terms with surrounding nations, for even the best military preparations could not prevent an invasion by a determined foe and the administration knew that losing ports, as well as resource fields would be very detrimental. The majority of its defenses happened to be concentrated around the Eastern and Southern part of the nation, especially by the Caspian Sea. “Sir, satellite images have shown what appears to be a buildup of Transcaucasian armed forces near our border. What should we make of it?” said Lambda Sub-Sector’s defense minister to the Colony’s governor. “I don’t think it’s a cause for concern. We haven’t had any negative incidents with them and from what I understand, their disputes would probably be with our other bordering neighbor(s).” He replied, adding on: “We can’t afford to disrupt our shipments nor mining operations in your area over this. If you want, we can discuss this further later. Otherwise stay put and continue as normal.” Edited by Hallistar, Nov 24 2014, 01:15 AM.

The Transcaucus/Middle East Sector Border.... Forces for the Transcaucasian state had amassed in the border town of Vale, Georgia. Tanks, trucks of soldiers and supplies, and artillery had spent most of the day running through the otherwise sleepy streets of the border down. Ahead of the entire operation was Armenian General, Arshak Madatov. He was, like so many in the miltiary, a veteran of one of the many wars between the Transcaucasian states. Now a respected military leader of the the unified military, he was the Chancellor's own personal choice for the mission. Using binoculars to view over the border at the landscape before him he looked upon it almost with pity. There was nothing in the way of advanced warning signs even though the General was sure someone was watching, someone was always watching. They must underestimate our intent he thought to himself as he planned out the final details of the plan. Much like many operations of the nature, the General decided on a blitz attack, having his armor plow ahead and the foot soldiers cleaning up and securing the rear. Supply trucks and teams would be critical for such an operations and they knew they had to keep up. "Everything is ready General" Madatov's Aide-de-camp stated after a firm salute. "Good" the General responded, still spying through his binoculars. "And the scouts?" "We received them moments ago, the border is clear for at least the next several miles" the aide stated. "There is very little in the way of security, aside from the general border patrols. If they spotted us amassing our force here, they've not decided to act upon it." "They obvious either don't consider us a threat because of our long-standing neutrality or some sense of superiority over us" the General replied. "Either way we will show them that such thought is foolish. Have the tanks roll out at once." "Of course General..." Posted Image Within moments radios blared with the standing order to advance and tanks began rolling down the highway towards the official border. Within seconds they were had the border crossing with the Middle East Sector and after a very brief fire-fight with the border guards, a fight that cost the poor devils their lives, the tanks of the Transcaucus mowed their way through the barricade and into foreign sole. They would not stop for the next several hours as they moved along the Black sea coast of the country. Most of the territory was more countryside but they would soon come across their first urbanize area as towns dotted the coast. No doubt it would be there that they'd see some real fighting but what time of defense they'd encounter they could not expect until it was at last upon them. For General Madatov, he was eager to see the men in action and to see for himself what defenses his nation's neighbors truly had. |
