St. Catherine's Research & Development (SCRD) St. Catherine's is a well-funded Research & Development company for the business conglomerate privately owned by Prince Abbas Sharooq of House Sharooq. The unlanded leader of exiles and nomads owns the rights to the company, which has development out of a small, otherwise insignificant town in the lawless regions of the Sinai Peninsula. It receives funding, personnel, and support from the Sharooqi Nomads and is seen as an arm of the government in place underneath Prince Abbas. Recently coming to prominence for groundbreaking research in desalinization techniques, they have leaked very early plans for growing technology in the region as a boon for popularity and press. A press conference on the subject is expected soon. Partially because of the fact that they are owned and operated by one of the largest private business conglomerates, their activities are widely kept secret. They are known to exist, but are seen as personal research & development for the Sharooqi Nomads, but what they are developing is left to guesses. It is also true that the High Minister Diego operates an arms manufacturing company under the purview of the House of Sharooq, and they publicly develop and create military weapons, so the content of the SCRD's development has been left to wonder: what else could a fledgling nomadic government need? That answer appears to have been answered as the leaks hit the internet of plans for high-tech, low-cost desalinization headed by the House Sharooq via SCRD.
