Emirate of Al Whaladya Gains Recognition!

After the quick success of General Faraz Al-Whaladya's private forces in combating foreign Eretz-Zion terror cells within the region, the Federation of Semitistan has deemed it worthy to honor the peoples of the Syrian Wilds with their own free and independent state! The decision was reached at a meeting at a disclosed location within Ishal, the Semitistani capital, between Semitistani foreign dignitaries and General Faraz Al-Whaladya himself.

The General, now Emir, was greeted with enthusiastic applause from a loving public upon his return home to Al Whaladya. His arrival in the new capital city, Dayr-az-Zwar, was met with a salute from the Semitistani and CMESS garrison, who will remain in country temporarily to help keep the peace as the government can be formally established. The terrorist groups Eretz-Zion and the Arab Indepedence Movement are still active in the south of the country and the battle to remove them from the whole of Al Whaladya rages on.

In regards to the above statement the now Minister of Defense, Omar Al-Whaladya, had the following to say, "The peoples of the Syrian Wilds finally have a government to represent them, but the battle for security is far from over. Not until the last terrorist operator leaves the region will the people of Al Whaladya truly be secure."

As for the future of Al Whaladya, the battle to remove its foreign internal enemies continues to rage on in the country's southern provinces.

Northern Iraq Incorporated into the Emirate!

A small section of Northern Iraq has recently applied for integration into the Emirate with successful results. Largely regarded as ethnically Kurdish, the northern sections of the Persian Wilds have for many years lived in a state of perpetual anarchy. At the news of the establishment of a friendly pro-Kurdish state to their west the people of several villages organized trans-settlement committees to vote on possible union with the Emirate of Al Whaladya.

With committee polls releasing a verdict of 3/4 total votes in favor of union a request was sent to the Emir himself. Upon lengthy discussions between the Emirate's government and the settlement committee the following resolution was agreed upon: In accordance with popular demand for unification with the Emirate, the sections of land specified in agreement will be forth with integrated into the Emirate of Al Whaladya with full citizenship granted and rights observed.

The newly integrated areas will be formally recognized as Whaladyan territory, and therefore be subjected to all laws and regulations practiced by the Emirate of Al Whaladya.

OOC: This was not an expansion, but a part of my territory from the beginning organized from talks during my nations founding.

First National Election Results!

As the final votes were recorded in Aleppo this weekend the results of the first national election can finally be determined. The Emir Faraz Al-Whaladya and the Whaladyan National State Party (WNSP) have been elected to remain as the administrative body over the peoples of Al Whaladya with a total of 11 million votes (Approx. 55% of the population)!

The WNSP had a substantial lead over their primary rivals, the Free Democratic Party, who collected only 6 million votes, and the Muslim Brotherhood which collected around 3 million. The Islamic Republican Party came in last with only around 200,000 votes, which caused some protest from the Shia majorities around Aleppo, Dayr-az-Zawr, and some other key cities. However, with promises of construction of more Shia mosques within said areas the rate of protests has subsided.

The WNSP claims to hold true to their pre-election platform concentrating mainly on Defense, Law & Order, and Administration, but promises to make headway into education and public health in the near future. The government also promises to stay true to their anti-business approach and one can assume corporations will not be gaining any tax cuts in the near future. As for Al Whaladya, the future looks bright with much support still being held by the population in regards to the man who many view as "The Guardian of Al Whaladya".

GFID Raid Uncovers Massive Terror Plans.

A large scale raid by the Whaladyan Government Field Intelligence Division(GFID) on a Eretz-Zion compound near the city of Busayrah has discovered evidence of serious to-be-planned terror plots within the region.

Outlined in many documents recovered from the compound are organized joint strikes and bombing campaigns in various Whaladyan cities as well as notable foreign locations with military, economic, and industrial importance. Notable targets were outlined in Trebizond and Ishal in the Confederacy of Middle Eastern Socialist States and the Federation of Semitistan, respectfully. Targets were clearly defined in documents found at the compound as well as maps outlining the centers with red dots. Additional information was obtained from documents and recordings as to the location of notable Eretz-Zion leader, Shlomo Ben-Yehuda, who was previously un-accounted for. Due to the important nature of these findings, his exact location cannot be revealed public ally, but the GFID is working with CMESS and Semitistani intelligence in his capture.

The intel is extremely valuable in the wake of the heinous terror attack on CMESS border security by unknown assailants dressed in Semitistani uniforms. Due to the nature of the attack and its occurrence in the Whaladyan capital of Dayr-az-Zwar, all three governments could possibly be involved in a serious situation, and talks between them have begun immediately. Whaladyan police and military forces have been put on high alert and their co-operation with coalition forces in Whaladya have been crucial in keeping order and finding those responsible.

In regards to the intel discovered by the Busayrah Raid, it is not yet clear if there is a correlation between the Dayr-az-Zwar attack and the possible attacks on the capitals, but the CMESS, and Semitistani governments will soon be notified of the imminent dangers these findings posses.

European Crusade To Be Felt In Al Whaladya?

With the terrible and costly war in Europe casting a larger shadow with the entrance of the Confederation of Middle Eastern Socialist States, many in Al Whaladya are becoming fearful and angry of its consequences being felt inside the Middle East. Many of the Emirate's Muslim population, approx. 84% has become particularly war wary and many are urging Faraz Al-Whaladya's government to stay clear of conflict.

However, in many cities across Al Whaladya, the small Catholic population has been the target of many small scale attacks ranging from assaults to acts of vandalism and arson. Many are placing the blame on the the nation's Orthodox and Protestant Christian communities, but sources also claim to see many non Christians participating as well. Just recently, small riots have broken out in Aleppo, Dayr-az-Zawr, and Busayrah and many protesters have been either dispersed or arrested.

The bulk of the agitation appears to have come from the newly formed Whaladyan Patriotic Front, which was created in response to the growing anti-Gennesian Catholic sentiment that has appeared since the out set of the crusading in Europe. The WPF has called for recruitment from many Orthodox Christian communities as well as others who oppose the crusade of Pope Castillo. The group currently is leasing weapons and is in talks with foreign forces about entering as an "International Volunteer Brigade".

In relation to the issue the government had the following to say:

"It is true that the Whaladyan government has openly condemned the actions taken by Pope Castillo and his allies, but we wish to ensure the Whaladyan people that there will be no declaration of war unless the Emirate's national security is in jeopardy. Moreover, the Whaladyan Armed Forces are to remain in country and are in no means permitted to join any International Volunteer Brigades."

Kurdish Taliban Vows to "Kick-Out" Whaladyan Troops!

Posted Image
-Whaladyan Rangers clear a city street after a minor engagement with Taliban insurgents.

"The time of the rampant rape and exploitation of our great country by Whaladyan troops is at and end!" claimed Jakar Zahawi, leader of the Kurshish Taliban, yesterday morning in one of the group's frequent released videos. In addition to monologues calling for Whaladyan troop exodus from Northern Iraq, the video also displayed multiple clips showing Taliban bombings and attacks on WNA personnel over the past few months. "These videos are nothing new, however, It is irrefutable that attacks perpetrated by the Kurdish Taliban have increased and they have definitely been emboldened in their efforts to remove the army from Whaladyan held northern Iraq." said a spokesperson for the Whaladyan National Army yesterday. "No matter how violent these atrocities become, we will continue to remain steadfast in our efforts to maintain the stability of the region." A general told news reporters at a weekly press conference. The general's words echo the sentiment of the majority of the Whaladyan State Party as well as the military, but they also worry a large portion of the civilian population.

Ever since the tribal committees voted for incorporation into the Emirate the Kurdish Taliban has vowed to restore the independence of the region by any means necessary. The organization has resorted to terrorizing its own people (those deemed "collaborators") as well as perpetrating acts of terror upon the WNA and other Whaladyan personnel and citizens. Although the Whaladyan military has been committed to remain in northern Iraq, many citizens and government officials alike are questioning the necessity of maintaining and occupying a region deemed "too far away and full of trouble". Nevertheless, it seems the Whaladyan army is resolved to stay and troop concentrations have been ever on the rise with stricter restrictions imposed upon the local population. With no easy solution in sight, and a tighter military presence, the residents of both regions are praying for a quick end to all hostilities.

Kurdish Taliban Unveils Massive Coordinated Strike!

Posted Image
- A Whaladyan T-90 advances into the city of As Sulaymaniyah which was recently occupied by Taliban insurgents.

The Kurdish Taliban organized a massive coordinated strike all across Whaladyan controlled Iraq today occupying a large majority of the region's cities in the process! The scale of the operation, which can only best be described as a copycat "Tet Offensive", is the largest operation ever recorded by the organization to date and has largely taken the Whaladyan National Army stationed in country by surprise. Although well equipped, the army's slow reaction time and inability to mount a serious counterattack have awarded the Taliban a serious foothold over the region's major cities and surrounding hillsides. WNA estimates put the Taliban's strength at around 20,000 soldiers with access to a variety of heavy/anti-tank weapons and good defensive positions. Though the WNA could not be reached for a statement, it is not impossible to conclude the Whaladyan military largely underestimated the Taliban's ability to act upon Jakar Zahawi's threats earlier this week.

"Glory to God, our first offensive has begun. We will continue to advance throughout Kurdistan until every vestige of oppressiveness is purged from our land. Whaladyan troops must leave or they shall feel the wrath of God." Zahawi is quoted to have said in a video today. Currently, the Taliban has the majority of the region's largest cities and in poised to resume its advance northward. The WNA currently has 10,000 soldiers and 20 tanks stationed in the region since the majority of the the Whaladyan Strike Force was moved south to participate in Operation Persian Storm. Brigadier General Takir Al-Khalid, commander of Whaladyan Ground Forces, has been ordered to pull his soldiers out of the TRT operation and move his army northward and return to Whaladyan Iraq. Additionally, reinforcements are being mobilized in Al Whaladya Proper and militias are being outfitted in Whaladyan Iraq to help stabilize the situation. The WNA hopes to have 40,000 troops in the region by the end of this week, and civilians are ordered to remain in doors and deliver any information they may have received to their local police.

Although information from Taliban occupied areas has been difficult to validate, reports are streaming in of Taliban atrocities. Brutal round ups and summary executions of supposed "collaborators" in some occupied cities have been reported, as well as the executions of captured Whaladyan personnel. Additionally, the Taliban has dismantled a great majority of Whaladyan infrastructure in attempts to disrupt the flow of modernization to the area. Worse still, reports of rapes and other violations of the region's women have been collected and many citizens have died attempting to flee the combat zones. In the city of As Sulaymaniyah alone, 150 civilians were caught in a deadly crossfire between WNA tanks and insurgent defenders with many fatalities. As a result, civilians are asked to vacate the area surrounding As Sulaymaniyah due to prolonged fighting around the city in the near future.

Most recent reports indicate the majority of fighting to be around the center of the region, and as a result, all civilians are being asked to organize and evacuate to the Whaladyan controlled north. There civilians will find refugee centers set up by the WNA, as well as fresh food and water. As for the conflict, fighting will continue around the center of the region and hopefully the presence of re-enforcements will
end the conflict quickly. Nevertheless, the sheer scale of the conflict posses interesting questions for the future of Whaladyan interests in Iraq.

Whaladyan Troop Count in Kurdistan Greatly Increased!

Posted Image
-Whaladyan infantry of the 2nd Army exhibit patriotism as they cross the border into Kurdistan.

A substantial increase in Whaladyan service personnel has recently been approved by the Military Central Command yesterday, as over 500,000 troops crossed the border unopposed into government controlled Kurdistan. The Whaladyan 1st and 2nd Armies have been mobilized and are set to re-enforce the already beleaguered elements of the Iraqi Defense Force which has been battling Taliban insurgents since the outbreak of their offensive earlier this season. Although currently unconfirmed, some reports claim the reason for such a drastic increase in Whaladyan military personnel has been the retreat of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd WSF contingents of the former Whaladyan T.R.T Reaction Force at the Battle of the Shah Ravine earlier this week. However, casualty figures for the engagement have not been made public and the Whaladyan State Party representatives, as well as the Military, have been quick to displace such rumors.

"Brigadier General Al-Khalid's tactical troop relocation from the Shah Ravine was a well calculated, and decisive military decision and has made no impact on the Central Command's approval of additional fighting personnel to Kurdistan. The 1st and 2nd Armies have been dispatched to friendly held territory in an attempt to deter hostilities in the region as a whole. We are planning no massive offensives at this time and are praying for a quick and painless cease to hostilities." - Defense Minister Omar Al-Whaladya, official statement made to the press.

No matter the reason for the involvement of more Whaladyan troops, public support for the conflict remains high at 71%, and many hope the increase in Whaladyan National Army soldiers will deter the Taliban from seeking to continue the conflict. Indeed, reports from the combat area indicate a drop in combat since the arrival of the 1st and 2nd Armies, and military representatives are claiming a decrease in confirmed Taliban sightings. As more of the troops enter Kurdistan, and the conflict enters its 4th month, many in the Emirate pray for a quick end to hostilities.

Zahawi Killed! Turning Point in Kurdistan War!

Posted Image
-GFID commando company credited with kill is awarded exceptional service citation in celebratory parade in Dayr-az-Zawr.

A huge parade was orchestrated in the capital yesterday for the successful dispatch of Kurdistani Taliban leader Jakar Zahawi. The GFID company credited with Zahawi's elimination was awarded the highest military award which can be attributed to a single unit of the Whaladyan Armed Forces - The exceptional service unit citation. The award, which was distributed to the company's commander - Imram Jhafar, is seldom awarded to Whaladyan service personnel due to its highly strict qualifications for completion. However, the raid on Zahawi's compound earlier this week was a feat no one in the military has deemed simple or easily accomplished.

The entire operation, which claimed the life of Zahawi, 65 of his followers, and a brave GFID commando, was officially acknowledged early this week after the Emir himself appeared on television to address the nation. In his address, the Emir comforted the nation after almost 5 months of costly warfare which has claimed the lives of 9,500 Whaladyans and over 40,000 Kurdistani, whilst also offering a promise that the war has taken "a turn in the right direction". Indeed, ever since the 1st and 2nd Armies entered Kurdistan earlier this month, the war has begun to shift once again in the Emirate's favor and signs of a waning conflict appear to be in sight.

Military spokesmen claim the war should be ending within the next few months as the more than 500,000 Whaladyan troops remain in country to stabilize the environment and perform the last counter-insurgency measures needed to pacify the region to its prewar standards. Many in Kurdistan are hopeful for a return to normalcy, but are wary of a lessening of Whaladyan personnel in the fear of a reemerging Taliban presence. However, the military claims the majority of the Taliban have fled to the farthest rural and uninhabited areas of the country and are unlikely to pose a substantial threat to the re-establishment of Whaladyan control.

As Whaladyan troops reclaim cities formally captured by the Taliban, evidence of serious transgressions against the civilian population are being uncovered in the forms of mass graves, infrastructure damage, and sectarian violence. The dominant Sunni Taliban have undertaken serious religious prosecution of the areas non-Kurds, Shia Muslims, and any known collaborators thus causing serious damage to the civil stability of the region. Incoming claims of "revenge killings" by the Shia Whaladyan soldiers against Sunni Kurdish civilians have been dismissed as rumors, and the military has refused to give any such claims weight. However, sectarian violence throughout the area remains serious problem for relief efforts and the re-establishment of Whaladyan authority. As it stands, the war is winding down, yet the future of Kurdistan has yet to be determined.

New Economic Partnership to Drastically Improve Whaladyan Infrastructure

Posted Image
- His Majesty, Emir Faraz Al-Whaladya shaking hands with the new Porcuian Ambassador in Dayr-az-Zawr

The Emir made a startling public appearance yesterday to greet the new Porcuian Ambassador after negotiations were successfully concluded last week in the Porcuian capital. Although the exact measures and extent of funding are not public record at this time, the new deal struck between Foreign Miniser Benghazi, His Majesty, Crown-Prince Muhammad, and the then President Atratinus of Porcu has just recently been made aware to the Whaladyan public. Already as of today, hundreds of tons of Porcuian hardware and equipment have been flown in and thousands of the Republic's most skilled contractors, workers, and advisers are being directed to their new places of temporary employment.

These new benefits appear to be centered on the Emirate's less-than stellar infrastructure which has fallen in a state of perpetual disrepair and non-maintenance following extended government funding for the occupation of Kurdistan. However, despite government claims that all funding has gone exclusively towards these public works projects, multiple high ranking military officials have also come forward outlying an increase in military spending. As to these claims, the government has not confirmed or denied the statements made by the military, but has instead repeatedly stressed the new Whaladyan-Porcuian economic partnership to be based on public works projects. Following the Porcuian personnel, multiple diplomatic agents from the Republic have also entered the Emirate and construction on the Porcuian Embassy is scheduled to begin shortly. The location is rumored to be adjacent to the already constructed Marslavan embassy, however nothing definite has been discussed.

Porcuian assistance appears to have come at a precarious time for the region, as many Whaladyans continue to see European influence as questionable and the Porcuian presence to be dangerous. As tensions continue to rise between the Republic, the CMESS and Holy Empire of Scythirus, many Whaladyans are wary of the attention such contact will bring upon the Emirate; especially, following the heightened military presence of the Scythiran Navy and the questionable motives of the Republic of Salik. The government has dispelled such fears and has even begun actively encouraging citizens to apply for jobs set up by the Republic inside Al Whaladya, as well as to pay attention to the various public service announcements which depict the Porcuians as "Friends to Arabs" and "Honorable and Trustworthy Partners". At any rate, the Whaladyan public has remained relatively peaceful and distension has remained on a low level since the announcement.

It is the hope of many Whaladyans that the projects and assistance will improve their standard of living and way of life regardless of where it has arrived from. Indeed, many Whaladyans are also pleased to see the Emir after his recent self-imposed isolation, and rumors continue to fly regarding the Emir's health, however no statements have been released by the government or royal family.
