I've got the Blacksmith and Carpenter if anyone needs stuff from that. I should be able to open up a third in a day or so probably a sorceress as ive gotton 3-4 of her recipes already.

I'm sorry, I tried to add you, but the game is claiming that the player "Haldamir" does not exist. :( Maybe I'm spelling it wrong?

In other news, we got 2nd in the last guild challenge and we're leading in the current one, though so far no one else is participating.

Looks like this guild challenge is in the bag. We're apparently running unopposed.

I apologize for falling behind on improvements. Having added 3 new craftsmen in the past bit, I have three separate quests which require cooperation points. I should be back to being a contributing member of the guild soon.

No worries. By the way, there's been a change of administration. I have delegated leadership to the more experienced Saulot.

I'm only a couple posts into this thread, but it seems right up my alley. I'm going to resist the temptation to stop reading and just start so I can potentially not blow it right at the start.

Does anybody want to take over my shop? I'm soon going to be too busy to continue playing but I don't want to waste all the time I put into it and I don't want to leave my guild buddies hanging.

E - I think we all will naturally have less and more time, fluctuating as our lives change. Personally, I know that I have less time to play now than I did a couple weeks ago. Instead of playing all my stored up days several times a day, I am shifting toward only play a couple days once or twice a day. There is nothing wrong with playing less. That said, I would recommend logging in at least once a day to get the bonuses. Also, thanks for leadership - anything I need to do other than admit new members and spend guild points?

Hmm, nothing else that I know of.

I will take care of my shop for now, and yes, logging in once a day for the bonuses. However, the offer still stands, if someone wants to take over, be part of the guild, and start around level 50 rather than level 1.

So, how do I hire additional blacksmiths?? Thay come into the shop, but if I say "ok" to hire them, it fires my old one. What do I need to do to do this??

Your shop only has room for one of each craftsperson at a time. Hiring a new one fires the old one, and is usually only a good idea if you don't like the distribution of their randomly distributed attributes.

That tripped me up a couple times earlier - those guys are looking to take your guy's job.

This offer still stands. I missed a day logging in, breaking my streak, and I'm way too busy with other things to continue playing. If anyone wants to take over my level 51 shop, (with dragon guns and samurai swords and all the herbs your sorceress could smoke,) let me know and I'll pm you the login info.

NH, gems are one of the four rare resources that you either have to pay tokens for, win in the daily lottery, or sometimes adventurers will bring them back for you from their quests, I think.

Yes, I found it all quite fun and quite addicting while it lasted, though. I couldn't bring myself to directly initiate aggression against any other shopkeepers, not even a little spying, so I sort of missed out on the whole thuggery experience, despite occasionally paying one to hang around. However, I did donate to everyone who ever asked, even when they called it "paying taxes" or "protecting my employees," so in that sense I suppose I participated in supporting systematic aggression against my neighbors. I'm just glad I won't be directly underneath when the floating palace comes crashing inevitably down onto the city, though sometimes I wish I'd just stayed in the countryside...

I pay a thug to stand around, but I haven't initiated aggression either. But I'm all about tit-for-tat if somebody else starts something, and I don't drop things until the other guy drops them. I also pay when people come around asking for taxes, protection, etc. - that is because, as a game mechanic, when NPCs come to your shop asking for sums of money (the rationale is irrelevant), those are usually for opening up quest lines, and doing quests is awesome.

Funny thing with thugs - if you don't have one, it's OK. If someone comes in to extort you, just tell them to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait, until a thug comes in and wants to be hired. Then, hire him, tell the extorter to blow off - he will, then fire your thug! You can delay a thug for days with the wait button!

I missed a log in day and that was the end of my 50 something day streak. I'm a little tired of this now, so I delegated the guild to Harumf just now, since he seems somewhat active.

I stopped playing awhile ago, partially due to general burnout and partially due to the fact I was exceedingly busy over break/the holidays. I'm planning to start again and see if I can get back into it.
