CLEVELAND ROCKS!
Part of me didn't want to start this thread... But I had to, since I am calling a 269-269 draw in the electoral college. Need that on record in case I am right.

I gotta say, living in a battleground state goes both ways.... Yeah, my vote really matters in Ohio, but do you realize how annoying the last two months have been? I had family from D.C. come visit last weekend for dinner. We turned on the local news. Every single ad was a political ad. I am not kidding you. EVERY SINGLE AD. The 1st commercial break, 5 for 5 political. 2nd commercial break, same.
My Dad was telling me about a radio advertising deal down in Cincinnati he signed into to advertise jobs his company was offering... The agency he went through explained rates would jump 50% back in September and 100% in October. Crazy.

I voted today. B)

I don't think a split will happen. However, it will be pretty close.

As did I :D

An apparently the race here in North Carolina for the president is closer than what they thought it would be. Obama won us last time but they didn't think he'd get it this year a few days ago.

Yea, I'm surprised at how close it is there. Not that I'm complaining.

Florida is super close. Was down to a couple hundred votes.

It doesn't matter who wins. Either way, we still lose.

Does anyone else resent the swing states? I always feel a little jealous that they get the attention and influence...

Move to Cleveland!

The good news is I get to increase my my facebook trolling now. I have become a terrible person.
Trolling if Romney won would've been fun for me, but I'm pretty sure telling Obama supporters they get to pay for my medical bills will upset them more than I ever could've if Romney won.

It was a landslide victory for Obama when you consider electoral votes. 303-206

Google Election Results

How could you guys make such silly predictions? I had been saying from the beginning when you guys started talking about this in the Republican nominations thread that Romney never stood a chance.

I personally can breathe easy. A Mormon billionare not becoming president is a good thing. But it still doesn't mean things won't go to shit in the next 10 years. I didn't vote. I only vote when it comes to picking one that isn't evil, not the lesser of two evils. Obama won because he is the puppet most suited to their purposes. Democracy is a lie.

Just like cake.

I wouldn't call it a landslide. Romney did better against Obama than McCain did. Sitting presidents who win reelection usually improve their electoral margins (the last president who was releected with fewer electoral votes than his previous term was FDR in his third and fourth elections - but note that FDR did get more electoral votes in his second election than his first). That makes Obama's victory disappointing by the standards of a second term election. That said, it is a solid victory, and his campaign did a great job in turning out voters in the swing states.

In any case, the president is relected, the Democrats retain the Senate, and the Republicans retain the House of Representatives. Nothing has changed. This is a status quo election.

Well, I hope they can only maintain the status quo. While I would like to see things improved and get better, my greatest hope is for things to not get worse. But I fear things would have gotten worse no matter who was elected.

DOOM! lol

I don't disagree. I'm pretty pessimistic in general - I expect things to get worse before they get better.

If I had voted, it would have been for Vermin Supreme.

This video is great. He's actually remarkably lucid at the end. Vermin Supreme for President 2012 I'm predicting that he'll go back in time and beat Obama in the election. You heard it here first.

NH, I suggest you take the higher road and try not blindly see this as a matter of race. They had no choice on that. How ever, culture, is entirely optional. Different cultures prioritize different things.

How they determine who receives government aid is set by some hard lines (Income). You fall into the category of needing government help is because you were unsuccessful for what ever reason but why you fall into that category is a non-issue to the government. Some like the disabled, had no choice, but others made an active choice to ignore education, hard work and instead pursue "fun".

The scary thing is that the amount of the population that chooses "fun" over the other option is growing. And the problem is that the government is making it too easy to give up and pursue fun, because people know there will be a safety net when is all falls apart. That safety net is going to give(at this rate at least), I would guess sometime in the next 35-50 years, and when it does. Watch out.

Whenever I say "you guys", just assume that you in particular aren't being included in that statement. And you can hold me to that one. You are typically independent of any forum groupmind.

It appears the "high road" leads straight to hell . . . or Colorado. My "dye my skin brown" was mostly tongue-in-cheek, however, most of the brown-skinned citizens down here I see are hard-working, educated, and voted republican (or in the case of two older hispanic students in my class, Libertarian). It is you damn Yankees that are gaming the system for all it is worth - feeding at the public teat, if you will. I lived outside Detroit, so I've seen it first hand. Oh, and it will be far less than 35 to 50 years for us to run out of OPM. By the third year of Mr. Obama's second term I expect rioting in the streets of Detroit, Chicago, L.A., etc. This country has become more racist as a result of four years of Obama, not less; that is a bad thing - I hope y'all survive.
