27 June 1936 She was the symbol for a nation. Adored by millions. She was the first woman in Eresklx's history to challenge the norm of the time. But on the night of 27 June 1936, she was killed in cold blood - assinated by the Rebel Army - but who betryed Otilia Hayas Grand Duchess of Çrsli? Was it someone she knew? Or was it by someone she hated. The only living witness to this date was only six years old at the time. The only possible suspects are: Princess Royal Salma of Adarba, daughter of Tsar Rashid bint Way: the ambassador of Aghaba Jakob Babar: or was it the Grand Duchesses own husband Grand Duke Alexander? Three people, three possibilities, one person. Edited by Eresklx, Apr 12 2012, 01:57 PM.

Background Information Grand Duchess Otilia Anna Isabèl Juana Philipa vèr Zolov vèr Asmaí (b. 6 December 1897 d. 27 June 1936) was the wife of Grand Duke Alexander Peter of Çrsli and the sixth child and third daughter of Archduke Fredrick of Sadarnache and his wife Countess Natalia of Hüggügll. She was given her title 'Grand Duchess' upon her marriage in 1922. Otilia was also a prominent figure in Eresklx politics in the early 1920's and until her death in 1936. She defied many social norms of the time including: staging mass protest against Tsar Rashid bint Way and his 'autocratic' government, fighting for her right as a women, and going into parliament and shouting her views. But she also had a secret, she didn't want any one to find out about. Eresklx was in civil chaos by 1930. The Kadaşh - or the People's Republic Army - had already taken control of half of the country and were fast approaching Çrsli by September 1934, Otilia worried by her children's safety, sent them to stay with her younger sister Archduchess Isabella of Ğudanı who was granted safety by the People's Republic Army due to her charitable work and protecting one of their highest ranking officers General Mehmed Adalepai during the infamous Ğudanì Campaign which killed hundreds. Otilia could never realized this would be the last time she would ever see her children again. Her eldest daughter Princess Una (b. circa July 1920 d. 3 Aug 2004) stated in 1943 during a interview for EBC Radio; ''My mother never really knew what would happen to her, but I expect, she was glad we had been staying with Auntie Isabella, whose courage and helping the wounded soliders probably saved our lives! But I still wonder who betrayed my mothers hiding place to the Army? It could not have been my Aunt because my mother never kept in contact with us, but when she did, she never reveiled where she was staying or who with.' Princess Una died before the official investigation had began in 2011. Archduchess Isabella who is a hundred and three now, told us that only three other people knew where she was hiding. By March 1935, the Kadaşh had captured Çrsli and were vast approaching the nearby town of Oluvs which was the hiding place of Grand Duchess Otilia. Edited by Eresklx, Apr 18 2012, 09:11 PM.

By mid April, Kadaşh had extended its territory nearer to Oluvs. Grand Duchess Otilia, was trying to find her way out, before it's too late. She was trying to find refuge in the Open city of Wűra Dalasm where many other royal family were staying. Her sister Archduchess Isabella was under house arrest at her husbands ancestral palace in Ğudanı. Prince Artur, Otilia's youngest child (b. 21 Febuary 1929) was 7 years old by 1936, but he can still vividly remember how his mother sent her last tear filled letter to his Aunt. 'We were all placed under house arrest in 1936. This meant we could not leave the house, or have any one living in the house - including my mother. I remember my aunt begging General Adalepai, to allow my mother to stay with us. She begged and begged him, but he would always say no. He said, "Grand Duchess Otilia, is wanted for espionage and treason," which I believe my mother not to commit. The only reason I think they said she was doing espionage, because before the war, my mother was a political figure, fighting for women's rights and being a supporter of state welfare and free healthcare. So when she sent the letter begging her for refuge, Auntie Isabellahad a hard decision - to let my mother stay and risk being killed or telling her no and still being friendly with the enemy. In the end, my aunt had to say no, telling her she wanted to keep us safe and not risk our safety. This had a vast impact on my aunts life Posted ImageArchduchess Isabella in 1930 just before the civil chaos. Her appearance changed dramatically by the end of civil chaos. Why did the Rebel Army wanted To Kill Grand Duchess Otilia? Many historians believe the only reason the rebel army wanted to kill her, was because of her ancestry. Her father Archduke Fredrick of Sadarnache belonged to the House of Maroslav, a powerful aristocrat family which had controlled much of Northern Eresklx before the civil chaos in 1930. Professor Murad Adatapey can tell us why Kadaşh only targeted this particular household and many closely related to it. "Many high ranking Kadaşh officers, were born during the Confedrate Industrial Revoultion which began in 1881. They lived in very poor lives, often working in the local factories where many people died or in local mines which were extremely dangerous. They also experience death and poverty first hand - little brothers or sisters becoming ill and suddenly dying or their fathers losing their jobs and becoming unemployed. Many would blame the aristocratic families who ruled. The Kadaşh hated one family in perticular. The House of Maroslav. This was one of Eresklx's most powerful families! They owned entire towns or cities, and we're even richer than Tsar Rashid and his family. They gained wealth by placing high council taxes and forcing the people to work until they died. Archduke Fredrick's father, Archduke Alexei of Ünas was given the title "Alexei the Ass" by many people because of his foul temper and his greed for money. Even though Archduke Fredrick was far different from his father and so was Otilia, they still hated the family despite the death of "Alexei The Ass" in 1898. If this was true, why didn't they kill Archduchess Isabella or her husband as well. Kadaşh had killed nearly all her siblings apart from her and Otilia by 1936. The Archduchess gives the reason. "Before the war, I had done some charitable work in the mid 20's when I was just a teenager. I visited most of Sadarnache's slums and I even shook the hand of General Salman Sudör - the leader of Kadaşh - in 1927 when I was helping teaching slum children. And if memory serves right...... I also helped wounded soldiers and nursed backed many high ranking generals to perfect health." These acts of kindness saved Isabella's life. But it made her entire remaining living family disown her after the war ended in 1938. Edited by Eresklx, Apr 14 2012, 07:02 AM.

The Betrayl At around 5a.m. on 27 June 1936, seven uninformed men broke into No. 384 Chobolev Platz. The flat belonged to 45 year old Talib Tasfaroneı, his wife Halima Tasfaroneı 39, their nineteen year old daughter Khadijah, twelve year old Adam, and six year old son Ulku. This is also the hiding place of Grand Duchess Otilia of Çrsli for five years. The men kill Talib and his wife by gunshot, before entering the children's bedroom. Khadijah is woken up by one of the men, and instructed to remain silent and escape, before it's too late. Khadijah Tasfaroneı survives possible rape or death. Her seven year old brother, is raped and then killed. Ulku hides in his bedroom wardrobe, fearing the men would do the same to him. One man suddenly bursts into his bedroom. Ulku is deadly silent. He dares not to move a muscle in case he is spotted by the man. The man knocks slowly on each panel of his bedroom walls, inspecting for anything hollow. He hears something hallow in one of the panels. He calls for 'Felix' and both tear down a wall. Their infront of them lies a staircase to an attic. They both investigate. Before he can even breath Ulku, hears a deathly scream. Grand Duchess Otilia had been found. |
