The Image of Saint Emmanuel the Conqueror was a stained glass window in the now-destroyed Maria Cathedral of Old Genesis City. It was commissioned by Pope Miguel of Catholic Europe, and depicted his predecessor, the greatest Catholic European Pope, Emmanuel I. Constructed over a span of 7 years by a team of master glassworkers, upon its public unveiling the Image was immediately controversial because it depicted the merely canonized Emmanuel as a God-like figure. Several Catholic European bishops were so outraged by this quasi-idolatry that they mutinied against Pope Miguel. Several of the oppositional bishops created so much disruption that they were found guilty of defiance of ecclesiastical authority and burned at the stake as a result.

Nonetheless the Image was well-received by most Catholic Europeans, reflecting the highest reverence the memory of Pope Emmanuel held in the hearts and minds of Catholic Europeans. Many miracles were attributed to the Image, and it was widely believed among Catholic Europeans that the Holy Apostles themselves prayed to the Image for intercession.

The Image was destroyed once by the nuclear bombing of Genesis City, and rebuilt, this time with the blood of the war dead incorporated into the colorization of the stained glass, thus raising the object's sanctity for believers. The Image was finally dismantled by the Orthodox Emperor, Constantine XIII, who was offended by its idolatrous implications and concerned about its continued reverence by Genesian mobs, and the shards of glass stored in a secret location so that no Genesian can access it or rebuild it.

Although the Image was widely regarded by non-Genesian Christian churches as a clear sign of the deviation of Genesian Catholicism from the true Christian religion, it was not without its admirers. Five generations after the time of Pope Emmanuel, another great warlord, Isaac Xanthou, stated in bemused envy and appreciation of the Image, that it "is the most splendid blasphemy. How fortunate was the Conqueror! - that he usurped the rightful place of Christ in the womb of Theotokos, and in His stead was born as God and Emperor of a warlike people."
