Now I just feel cheated by bald-faced lie of the happy ending. I did laugh through most of it though. Can't say I haven't been there quite a goddamn lot in the past ten years.

In more subtle ways, this has in fact happened to me; the point where you're so down on everything you do and are that you end up not caring, and that "not caring" makes you feel like you can take on freakin' anything.
