Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

My company has us using biodigradable coffee cups. They start to break down before you can finish your coffee. Stupid.

Bought a fuel efficient car. I work from home. I walk to the grocery store (granted, it's -2 F right now, I'm willing to have bigger carbon footprint in this weather). My roommates and I actively recycle, know which bits of the green world are BS and real, and typically eat in/believe in slow food.

It works.

I saw that poem before; I had chosen to recite it for an English project last month but had to pick something else because it was too short.

Ice, for me, despite how much I like fire. Once everyone nukes each other and the fires of civilization die down, the world can freeze itself over in the fallout.

As for "green" stuff, I have solar panels on my roof. They're problematic, though, since every Nor'easter that comes through likes to throw one or two around the property, into the street, on our cars, etc.

At CTY, the kosher section, called KiVo, had biodegradable utensils. I ate a good many spoons.

Fire. The world cannot logically end by ice since life is still sustainable in such conditions. The world as we know it will likely end either because a very large solar flare hits the Earth or, as CE said, because the Sun will become a red giant. They say that isn't supposed to happen for millions of years, I believe, but their calculations could be off, and it is not as if their knowledge on such a subject is complete. It could happen in 2040 for all we know; it's just unlikely given present conditions.

The progression of stars from birth to death is directly and wholly dependent on and subject to the Laws of Physics.

The Sun has approximately 5 billion years left, give or take a few hundred million. Anything otherwise is not merely "unlikely", it is literally impossible.
