This game is awesome, so I thought I'd get the word out. Has anyone here played Bastion? The gameplay is a lot of fun, the story is entertaining enough, and the art and music are gorgeous. The developer, Supergiant Games, is a small studio, but I'd say this game has consistently higher quality then most major releases. The game is a lot of fun, and though you might play through it pretty quickly, the New Game Plus makes it fun to replay. I highly recommend it. The price on PC is $15, and I imagine it is the same on console. It is available on XBox 360 and PC (Steam). Here is the website: http://supergiantgames.com/?page_id=242 |

I saw it, but had no particular reason to buy it since I'm still thoroughly stocked from Steam's massive summer sale, but if you're gonna recommend it, I may pick it up next week. |

I think its wonderful; I haven't really had that kind of non-stop fun in a while even though I've been playing great, critically-acclaimed games lately. |

I'm curious - you folks all seem to have a life (for the most part), jobs, school, farming organically out of your trailer, friends, family. Where do you find the time to play all these video games? I can barely squeeze in a quick game of solitare. |

I'm a power gamer, so I can breeze right through most games. That said, I have been more busy with school and a social life lately, and I probably watch House more than I play games. But, I did play Sims 2 for several hours the other day. I actually made a Dr. House Sim, and I have yet to see him with any of my other characters. Pretty damn funny. Bastion doesn't interest me. Just not my style. I'm a realism/artistic realism kind of guy. I can't stand when things are too cartoonish or abstract. That said, I love the Oddworld series. Great social commentary. |

I don't have a TV. TV time = game time instead. |

Well, in this particular case, I played through Bastion last weekend while I was shut in by Hurricane Irene  To each his own, of course! Personally, I love Bastion's handpainted 2D art. That isn't something I see anymore, so it stands out a lot. But yeah, art is subjective, so not everyone will like the style and I respect that. Edit: Harumf, I forgot one other thing. I don't RP much anymore. I just don't have ideas right now. That makes it easier to find time for video games. The time that I would have otherwise spent writing long and elaborate posts is now utilized playing games. That will change at some point. Edited by Rhadamanthus, Sep 2 2011, 07:52 PM.

Finally made it down to Bastion in my backlog. It might be my favorite game of all time. My only complaint is that the Battering Ram, which you get in the final level and can't unequip once you get it, is so boring to play with. I was using a run-and-gun playstyle the whole game (Scrap Musket and Dueling Pistols) with lots of dodging, so giving me this mandatory "ultimate" weapon that blocks slower than my shield, doesn't allow dodging, and is pure melee was kind of a pain. Still, unbelievably awesome game. 9/10. |
