Following the (relatively) recent inception of the Federation of Semitistan from within the territory that lies between Paradise, Resplendant Dawn and Talibastian, it would like to seek diplomatic relations within the region. But before doing so, it requests the knowledge of policies on: 1. The economy in general 2.Racial discrimination 3.Freedom of speech 4.National security/tackling terrorism |

Alexanderhaven - Economy - Booming from trade network tolls on the Trans-Babylonian Railway, shipping in the Persian Gulf, precision manufacturing and oil refinement. Racial Discrimination - All races are equal under the Church (OOC- That is, the Orthodox Church) Freedom of Speech - No disrespecting the Emperor of Byzantium, no disrespecting the Church, no disrespecting the legitimacy of the Ribbenzoph Family's claim to the Throne of Kasnyia (OOC- in short, not very on the political side of things, though its fine otherwise) National Security - As vassals of the Byzantine Empire, we follow the foreign policy and national security outlook of the Emperor in Byzantium. OOC: We refer to the Resplendent Dawn as the Roman Empire or Byzantium as you see Kas has done. We allow players to rename their NS nations whatever they want here on the forums and for the purposes of the map....well whatever they want within reason of course  Oh and Kas, did you mention that those stats were for Alexanderhaven, our new player here might not know :P IC:

OOC- You can refer to me as Alexanderhaven, if only to prevent confusion with RD's nation. IC- Construction of the Baghdad-Semitistani line will begin at once. |

OOC: I think from this point we should move it into another thread, just so others aren't intimidated by the whole thing if they want to start relations from here. |

The Sacred Holy Empire of Scythirus' policies are simple enough for even outsiders to understand, lest they tread erroneously into our interests and provoke our retribution. Our economy has always been a healthy, burgeoning force with massive corporations raking in large profits to feed their growth. The government commands a vast sum of wealth that it acquires through taxes and uses to better the nation's services and defense as a whole. Surely there is no empire greater than ours. Foreigners to Scythirus are tolerated so long as they follow the proper immigration procedures and respect our laws. Freedom of speech; however, has no place in our society as it is found to frequently breed dissent, disrupt public peace and degrade into eventual terrorism. All national news agencies are closely monitored and regulated by our government. To prevent dissent and to ensure the safety of her citizens, Scythirus employs numerous police officers and military personnel. Our military budget in fact happens to be one of the highest funded in the world. Public safety cameras are everywhere and all communications are monitored. Should someone attack us, they will be met in force with swift retribution. - Scythirian Ministry of Information Edited by Comrade Queen, Jul 22 2011, 05:37 PM.

The Federal Republic of Aghaba: 1. The economy: Aghaba has a flourishing economy, with the largest GDP per capita in the Middle East. Arms manufacturing, uranium mining, and automobile manufacturing are our major sectors. 2. Racial discrimination: Racial discrimination has not been a mainstream issue in Aghaba since its' conception. While this may not be a major issue, discrimination against religious sects and practitioners of faith is common, with many citizens claiming it is sanctioned by the state. 3. Freedom of speech: Freedom of speech and liberties in Aghaba are somewhat limited, depending on the issue up for discussion. For the most part, citizens are entitled to their right to free speech. 4. National security/tackling terrorism: The Aghaban Intelligence Bureau relentlessly and ruthlessly hunts down perpetrators of terrorist activity within its' own borders, with a zero tolerance policy for any sort of extremism. Aghaba is extremely diligent in its duty to keep its' citizens safe. Edited by Aghaba, Sep 8 2011, 12:16 PM.

New Harumf has a flurishing economy, both in the manufacturing and service sectors. We are a Catholic (Genesisian) nation, and pledge alliegence to the true Pope of the Catholic Church. All races are welcome and treated with respect. Freedom of speech is allowed, and welcomed as long as the individual does not engage in sedation against the crown or sacreligion against the Church. We have an active and involved Chief Inquisitor. Visitors with proper visas and passports are welcome to New Harumf, and we have a strong tourism sector. We would be more than happy to develop trade with our neighbor. |

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lurkiest of them all?

((OOC: No longer in the Middle East, but Abnar's still got a vested interest in the region.)) Abnar al-Andalus Economy: Semi-regulated capitalist economy. Universal education though undergraduate and universal healthcare for all tax-paying citizens Racial Discrimination: Non-Muslims are required to pay an additional jizya tax in order to be exempt from compulsory military service. The amount of the jizya is frequently less than the zakat tax on Muslims collected by the government for distribution by the Caliphate. Freedom of Speech: Muslims and non-Muslims alike enjoy a reasonable range of civil liberties National Security: After the recent coup, national security is a high priority for the Abnari government.
