EDIT: In fact, I just realized it's in two different places on the map. I'm taking it off. Map-makers have that power. :P NH, you shouldn't have trouble finding another planet. We gotta ensure things start out equally. The Star Wars universe isn't about equality. It's about imbalance, and power struggles, and and different factions jockeying for their position in a Galaxy far greater than they. If you lack this dynamic, your RP will ultimately lack for meaning, and it will fall apart. How you choose to set this up, how you want to proceed through it, et cetera--that's up to you guys. But however you decide to do it, you need to do it, because Star Wars is about conflict. You're all skilled roleplayers. You're all adults, or at least relatively mature human beings. Figure it out, or all other discussion is moot. We just want a balanced startup. After that anything can happen. That also means if more new players do come along after a time, they'll be in a weaker position than those that have been there, hence there will be the needed imbalance you speak of. Say you're smuggling to Coruscant and stopping off at Corellia frequently. The Confederation will oppose the illegal actions so close to their capital world. If the initiative NRE brought up brings in new players, I'd like to be involved in the RPs and I'm hoping to step up some activity myself since I haven't done much lately.

Income is spent on military units, technology, espionage, etc. Definitely not freeform RPing, although there have been some games I can remember where good storytelling had concrete mechanics-supported rewards.
