OOC: Guess I should have this election, given that I haven't had an election for the Duma in...a year or more  Decided to allow you to vote for two, hopefully making this an interesting a election given that the outcome will determine a few moves made by Russia.

IC:

Current Electorial Outlook
-Belaya Gvardiya (The White Guard): +2
-Social-demokrastičeskaja Rabočaja Partija (Menshevik Party): -2
-Zelyonaya Partiya (Green Party): - 2
-Kommunisticheskaya Partiya (Communist Party): +1

Previous Political Demographics of the State Duma:
-Belaya Gvardiya (The White Guard): 350 Seats
-Social-demokrastičeskaja Rabočaja Partija (Menshevik Party): 65 seats
-Zelyonaya Partiya (Green Party): 65 seats
-Kommunisticheskaya Partiya (Communist Party): 20 seats

Political Position on Current Issues:

Belaya Gvardiya (The White Guard)
-The current majority party within the Duma, the Belaya Gvardiya are the strongest supporters of the monarchy and the practically absolute rule of the Romanov Dynasty. Nationalist and strongly Orthodox by nature, the Whites (as they were mostly called) have been and continue to be strong supporters of progressive national policies designed to strengthen the military and placing Russia at the forefront of international affairs specifically in Europe but also on the global stage. On current issues in Russia, the Whites believe in military intervention on the question of Brittany as well as on Northern Georgia, who the Whites have been pushing to label as a Dominionques government that is a threat to Middle Eastern and global security. Many critics believe that the Whites are pushing for another Georgia war but so far the party has dismissed these claims.

Social-demokrastičeskaja Rabočaja Partija (Menshevik Party)
-Currently in a coalition with the Greens as the opposition bloc to the Whites, the Social-demokrastičeskaja Rabočaja Partija is the strongest of the leftist political parties in Russia. Supporters of sweeping social reform policies, the Mensheviks as they are more commonly referred to as, have been champions of the most recent reforms to social programs in the Russian Empire following the Dominion Wars. Not as militaristic as the Whites, the Mensheviks have strongly condemned the increase spending in the military and instead argue for more money for the economy as well as social programs such as a social-security system. Mensheviks are also strong supporters of a more mixed economy of private and publicly owned businesses and industries. On current issues in Russia, the Mensheviks are opponents of military intervention in Brittany and instead call for a more democratic solution. However, on the issue of Northern Georgia the Mensheviks apparently also are calling for military intervention against the Dominionques government. Many analysts believe this is because the Russian Mensheviks have strong behind the scenes lines with the Southern Georgian Menshevik government.

Zelyonaya Partiya (Green Party)
-The second half of the current opposition bloc to the Whites, the Zelyonaya Partiya are surprisingly very ideologically different from the Mensheviks but have found ways to works with their political allies in opposition to the nationalist and militaristic polices of the Whites. The Greens have been major advocates of stronger policies which focus on areas such as decentralization of the government, community-based economics, sustainability of resources, respect for diversity, global responsibility, and future focus. In their push for these policies, the only one of date that has made any headway is policies that have gone through the government over the protection of resources and the implementation of policies designed to move the Russian Empire towards a reliance on more sustainable resources. On current issue in Russia, the Greens stand united with Mensheviks in opposition to military intervention in Brittany but also disagree with the Mensheviks on military intervention in Northern Georgia. They claim more evidence is necessary to commit the amount of military resources necessary for a successful campaign in the area. Many Greens have spoke out against the administration, claiming that a great irresponsibility has gripped the nation.

Kommunisticheskaya Partiya (Communist Party)
-The minority party within the Duma and the second oldest party behind the Whites, the Kommunisticheskaya Partiya has not changed drastically from its Soviet Union era political platform. Although the Bolsheviks as they call themselves, have moved away from many of the Stalinist policies that plagued the old Soviet Union for years, they have moved to more hard-line interpretations of the works of Marx and Lenin as well as a growing support within their ranks for the ideology of Trotsky. Considered a minor voice in the Duma itself, most Bolshevik efforts go in opposing programs supported by the Mensheviks and their Green allies in the Opposition bloc. This has gone to create an unlikely alliance between the Communist and the Whites who have traditional, also been strong opponents of one another. However, while there is an obvious agreement between the Whites and the Communist when it comes to voting, the two parties remains strongly opposed to one another in terms of personal party policies and ideology. On current Russian issues, the Communists support militarily intervention in Brittany. On the issue of Georgia, the Communist not only support a war against Northern Georgia and its Dominionques government but have also called for a union between Russia and the Soviet Socialist Republic of Adjara, a small autonomous communist enclave within Southern Georgia.

NEWS JINGLE

Live from Moscow in our RRBC studies in Red Square , this is Moscow Nightly News. With your host Vera Jovovich...

Good evening everyone I am Vera Jovovich. Here are our top stories from Russia and around the Empire. Results from the Imperial State Duma Election have been made official and here how the seats of the Duma will be filled:

Political Demographics of the State Duma:
-Belaya Gvardiya (The White Guard): 400 Seats
-Kommunisticheskaya Partiya (Communist Party): 50 seats
-Social-demokrastičeskaja Rabočaja Partija (Menshevik Party): 30 seats
-Zelyonaya Partiya (Green Party): 20 seats

While the White Guard has again retained the major within the Duma, they have already announced that the leadership for the Duma will be changing. Yuri Vlsov, a long standing Deputy of the Imperial State Duma and member of the White Guard party, will not be seeking another appointment by his party for Chief Presiding Officer of the Duma itself. Having served as Chief Presiding Officer of the Duma ever since the White Guard first took the majority, Vlsov has stated that his time as leader of the Duma has come to an end.

"I have felt honored for the long years of service not only that my Oblast has allowed me but also my party as leader of the Duma. I hope that I have left a legacy of positive policies for the Russian Empire. My leaving has been a long time coming to be honest as I stated I would be leaving my post when his majesty Tsar Paul stepped down from the throne. I only stayed on then given the problems facing the Empire following the Dominion Wars. However, I take my leave from the post knowing that the party has capable leaders to replace me."

Party officials have already named Grigori Potemkin, a chairperson under Vlsov for the past few years, as their nominated and appointment to the Chief Presiding officer's chair. Potemkin, a young Deputy from the Novgorod Oblast, has been a major voice for the White Guard in the Duma. Many of the more senior members of the party have spoken positively about Potemkin even before the elections and many stated that if Vlsov didn't run for their party's appointment (if they retained the majority), that they would back Potemkin's nomination.

"I was honored and humbled by my party's nomination and appointment to the Presiding Officer's chair. The Russian Empire is entering a new era of political and economic success an I look forward to help leading it into this era of prosperity. Tsar Alexei is by far one of the most capable leaders in all of Europe and by the Grace of God almighty, he will lead the Russian people to greatness. I can only feel extremely privileged that I will be able to say years from now that I was able to be apart of his majesty's government during this pivotal time in the Empire's history."

His majesty, Tsar Alexei Paulovich Romanov II, offered his congratulations to the White Guard for their success in the elections and noted that he looked forward to continuing his work with the State Duma.
