President Yugaf Lutenktzi was milling through the stack of papers that his treasurer had sent to him for approval. Much of northern Yshurak still needed to be rebuilt following the Dominion's occupation of those regions years earlier. While quality of living for Yshurak's southern half almost immediately after the war, the northern provinces were still facing plenty of hardships and authorities were sorely pressed to keep the peace. Hopefully in time, northern Yshurak would return to the pleasant calm it once was before the Dominion had invaded their lands. He was just about to set his pen's tip to the latest paper and sign when the head of Yshurak's national security office barged in. The President nearly jumped out of his skin and swore at the man angrily. "My apologies, Comrade President," the security head, Reko Kolehmainen, said after being properly mollified. "I bring urgent news. Recall the number of reports we've been receiving from police and military patrols of rampant arson and supply theft along with the occasional, albeit isolated gunfight up north?" "Yes, I'm very familiar with it," President Lutenktzi said grumpily. "That's what most of these"—he gestured to the papers he was signing—"are for. Our treasury has put together a very efficient payment plan to help increase funds for police. I swear, if I could go back and throttle Gassel before he died, I would! It's because of his invasion, following our declaration of neutrality no less, that our northern regions are in such a mess now. Citizens are starving and desperate and will do anything to get what they want." "Yeah, well, we believe in Yshurak's Office of National Security that it may be far more serious than we initially thought," Reko Kolehmainen continued, nervously tugging at his shirt collar. Lutenktzi eyed him. "How serious?" "We have received word that our state office in Urngrank has been bombed, forty-three casualties, five of which are still alive but grievously injured." "WHAT?" The President of Yshurak shot up out of his chair. "How did this happen?" "We're still investigating that, Comrade President. However, we're beginning to discover that all the rampant chaos isn't simply caused by hungry and desperate citizens. Recent intelligence brings in that the attacks are interconnected by some form of active... resistance. Our northern provinces, especially the Norbotten province in the northwest, have become a hotbed for an active insurgency." "Dominion holdovers?" Lutenktzi asked. "No, Comrade President," Kolehmainen responded. "The propaganda and rhetoric we have uncovered does not fit the Dominion's idealogy of fascism. Instead, it appears to be some form of anarchism that the insurgents desire." The President stroked his chin thoughtfully then shook his head. "We cannot allow these terrorists to succeed in disrupting our reconstruction efforts. We must root out the problem and annihilate it utterly. Fortunately we are already in the process of increasing our manpower. The terrorists must be stopped at all costs. Perhaps we can also request our allies in assistance over this matter." "Of course, Comrade President." |

The supply rain sped along the track just as scheduled. The time to strike was now. Lilya Sodderov lowered the binoculars and motioned her forces to move in closer, the orders relayed by her lieutenants. There were over two-hundred of the resistance present for this raid, and by now Yshurak's communist leaders were starting to put the pieces together so they were well armed and prepared to deal with the troops that were undoubtedly guarding that train. As her forces moved in, a shoulder rocket was launched by the man at her side and blasted a crater in the tracks just ahead of the locomotive. When the train's conductor pulled the break, it was already too late and the whole thing derailed from the tracks in a wreck. The resistance fighters hurried in now with Lilya herself joining into the fray. Communist troops climbing out of the cars that had survived the wreck without injury began opening fire, but it was no use; they were sorely outnumbered by the resistance. Lilya Sodderov did not feel much guilt over the several men she personally shot, viewing the communist soldiers as being an obvious part of the problem that kept Lutenktzi's power structure in place. They did not serve the people of Yshurak as they claimed, they served those who would consider themselves the peoples' masters. Communism was merely a monarchy that pretended to be a free republic. Once all of the mindless criminals that served the government were completely dispatched, Lilya raised a walkie-talkie to her head. "The train has been cleared, move in," she said. "Over." "Roger that," a voice responded from the radio. Shortly thereafter, a small group of trucks pulled up from the tundra and the resistance fighters worked rapidly to unload the cargo from the train. Within less than a couple hours, the trucks were loaded up with what they needed and drove off. Lilya's small army quickly left the scene afterward and by the time Yshurak's communist regime found the wrecked train, already an expanse of four hours had passed. |

Yugaf Lutenktzi tapped together his fingertips as Reko Kolehmainen brought him in the latest intelligence reports from the ONS. There had been a number of further raids up north and the President's patience was wearing thin. It wasn't one thing it was another, as he was beginning to see the effects of Yshurak's authorities and armed forces being spread thin. While he had patrols in the north controlled, he also had to deal with the war in the Scandanavian Republic and its own renegades. It seemed like the whole region was awash with rebellions. "Hopefully you've brought me good news, Mr. Kolehmainen," Yugaf said while grinding his teeth. "Sadly, Comrade President, I'm not sure that I have," Reko replied with a frown as he opened his briefcase and began removing and opening folders. Yugaf examined them while Reko spoke. "We have been receiving reports of citizens with dangerous, capitalistic leanings fleeing towards the north." " 'Fleeing?' " "Yes, Comrade President," Reko replied with a sour expression. "Fleeing. We've kept watch on these individuals for years because of the threat they pose to continued economic equitability. Nevertheless, they are trying to escape our eyes and ears now by launching an exodus toward the north and the terrorists. We suspect that they may desire to join and bolster their ranks." Yugaf Lutenktzi narrowed his eyes. "We have been able to start intercepting them before they leave, but I fear far too many may have already slipped through our grasp. We might have a significant problem ahead of us if these capitalist sympathizers bolster the ranks of the rebels." "I don't like the sound of this one bit," Yugaf Lutenktzi said, stroking his chin in thought. "Have you found any connection between our rebels and the rebels in the Scandavian Republic?" "No, Comrade President. Our intelligence reveals they are completely unconnected." "Would it be possible to fabricate a connection to poison their image in the public eye?" Reko blinked and thought for a moment, then nodded. "It might take my staff a little while but I'm sure we could put together a few convincing documents." "Then do it. I want these terrorists stopped at all costs. The Republic depends on it." |

For some time now, the SIS had been observing the communist country. The Strategic Intelligence Service had taken note of the sensitive region several years prior, but due to a lack of a strong budget, the agency could nothing but watch. With the recent budget increase, the SIS now how the ability to intervene, all that was needed was clearance from the Federal council. President Tell and the rest of the Council acknowledged the potential benefits of a free and capitalist Yshurak, and were quick to give the clearance. Arrangements were made, and a number of agents were sent into the Northern Region of Yshurak in hopes of establishing communication with the rebels. The agents attended riots, rallies, and other various events in order to make the contact. Special attention was given for avoiding Yshurak officials, while at the same time making themselves known to the rebel underground. All they could do was wait until formal contact was made..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: For reference, the SBC and the Swiss government are two completely separate entities. |

"Yeah, I can get you a meeting with the top rabblerousers," one resistance member said to the Swiss representatives. "Just send your suits to this hidey-hole and make sure to not attract the attention of the blueberries. Them finding our headmen could ice the whole movement, y'know what I'm sayin'?" He handed the representatives a sheet of paper with an address on it. The Swiss agents approached the given address, unsure of what to expect. Dressed in civilian clothing, the three agents made their way to the door. As one proceeded to pound on the entry, the other two stood guard. Each of the three agents had come prepared with small arms, a grenade, and a poison pill, just in case.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Encrypted Transmission To: Yshurakan Ministry of Defense From: Swiss Banking Corporation We are pleased that you have accepted our proposal. Inside the unassuming townhouse, the Swiss agents were led to a small office by a man dressed in mismatched combat fatigues. Waiting for them within the office, seated behind a desk and discussing something with a tall, muscular man with close cropped hair was a slender woman with short dark hair wearing a light brown tenchcoat and dark scarf. Upon seeing the Swiss dignitaries enter, she stood up and extended her hand to shake each of theirs. "I thank you for coming," she said with a small smile while motioning them to sit. The tall, muscular man stood in the corner, acting as guard. "My name is Lilya Sodderov," she continued while sitting down again herself. "We were pleased when your government contacted us in our struggle against the corrupt regime that has enslaved Yshurak for well over half a century. No need to be nervous... this conversation is not being monitored or recorded in any way. You were never here, and I don't exist." She winked. "Now perhaps we should get to business? What can you offer the Resistance?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Encrypted Transmission To: Swiss Banking Corporation From: Yshurakan Ministry of Defense Our capital city of Venderwelle will be a sufficient location to send your shipment. |

Lilya had been drumming her fingers boredly on the tabletop for the last half hour or so while the two foreign dignitaries conversed among themselves in hushed whispers. Finally her patience wore thin. "Come on guys, you got an audience with me, I'm ready to listen, so how about spitting it out?" she asked. "You've been in that corner talking for what seems like forever now." |

"We apologize for our reluctance. We have you be careful, you know? We understand your current situation. We believe we can help, seeing it is in the interest of our government. First off, we are prepared to offer you weapons, training, and even manpower, however limited. To receive these weapons though, it might be a little tricky. We have, let's a say a rat, in some very high places. A very large shipment of weapons and vehicles are being shipped to your government as we speak. We supply the locations, you supply the troops, and an ambush could easily be assembled. Within hours, your entire resistance could be armed to the teeth. Our rat, however will need to gain the trust of your government, in order to fully utilize his benefits. This may require some superficial falls on your part. But once this trust is established, the dominoes will have been set in place, and all it will take is one little push to collapse everything. Is this enough? Or is there more you would like to request?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Encrypted Transmission To: Yshurakan Ministry of Defense From: Swiss Banking Corporation We would like request security for our shipment. Lilya Sodderov smiled and leaned forward, hands steepled. "It sounds sufficient enough," she said. "Depending on the locations you supply, our successes may vary anyway. Because of the strife of the Dominion wars, the northern regions of Yshurak are more destabilized than the south. Currently the pinko bastards have been pushing more into defense to counter this. We will need all the weapons we can get and your help in that matter is highly valued. We'll await the word of the locations as soon as the weapons are transferred there to be... taken." She reached forward and shook the man's hand again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Encrypted Transmission To: Swiss Banking Corporation From: Yshurakan Ministry of Defense Our ports are the most well protected areas in the country. The Venderwelle International Airport, security was usually very stringent but today it had an increased presence. A weapons shipment was expected from the Swiss Banking Corporation and the the Communist Republic wanted to ensure that its investment was not compromised. Now it was only a matter of waiting for the plane to arrive. |

After establishing secure connections at the meeting, plans were sent to Lilya Sodderov for the acquisition of the Swiss arms. The shipment would be flown in with two separate planes, each at a different time, one containing the arms, and the other containing the security forces. The plane containing the arms will attempt to land first, but will be forced to land in a nearby airport due to massive riots that have been stirred up around the airports. Justification for the riots should involve anger at the amount of security forces coming in, giving off the idea the city is becoming occupied by the military. The planes will be flown to a nearby airport, where it will be shipped by train to major armories. The train will be ambushed, and the arms will be taken in haste. Swiss security forces will be present, but will not attempt to kill any rebels, instead faking it. Likewise, the Swiss forces should not be killed. The second plane will land in the original airport, with the riots quelled by then. The security forces will then disperse to strategic locations throughout the country. |

As planned, the riots orchestrated by operatives in the Resistance caused the planes to be diverted to the airport in Ziggeridorik, a city that had seen extensive rebuilding since a nuclear attack by the Assassins decades earlier. Because of the short notice, the weapons and Swiss security guards were transferred to an unarmored train commandeered by the Yshurakan government. Also onboard the train was a platoon of soldiers from the People's Army which would supplement the Swiss security as originally planned. From there, the train went north to its destination. Because the train was a simple freight train and not the armored locomotive that had been waiting in Venderwelle, an air escort of two Mikoyan MiG-35s was sent to survey the rail line ahead for trouble as they traveled at low speed and altitude. No sign of Resistance elements could be found and the train was cleared to continue on path during a brief stop at a station several kilometers south. Everything appeared to go smoothly until a semitruck rushed a train crossing and parked itself in the path of the locomotive, the driver immediately abandoning the vehicle as quickly as he could. What ensued was a terrible wreck, as the semi contained a thousand pounds of explosive. The train derailed out of control, causing a significant number of casualties for those that rode onboard. Three more semis pulled up and unloaded groups of Resistance fighters which began their assault on the train wreck. What few survivors there were of the People's Army were outnumbered once again and easily overpowered, especially when they weren't receiving any actual help from the Swiss survivors. One Yshurakan soldier; however, managed to get a distress call out to the MiG-35 escort. The two fighter jets circled into the area, pulling a strafing run with automatic gunfire. The Resistance, fortunately, did not come unprepared for such a possibility and two of the rebels dashed out of the semis with shoulder mounted rocket launchers and launched them at the aircraft. Combined with the low speeds required of their low altitude and the heat-seeking capabilities of the rockets, the pilots were forced to eject before their fighters became blazing balls of fire. Promptly the Resistance resumed its looting of the train wreck, loading up the weapons into their trucks while more arrived to specifically supply room for both the cargo and the freedom fighters themselves. Another victory for the Resistance had been achieved. |

The news of the raid reached Venderwelle relatively quickly and efforts to track down the rebels went into full gear. The President, Yugaf Lutenktzi, had been informed as usual and he was reportably infuriated by the news, but his aides assured him that intelligence was working on the matter. Nevertheless, he couldn't shake the feeling that somehow all of this had been in some way planned in advance. Now that intelligence knew what it was looking for, tracking down the rebels and their stolen weapons would be relatively easy. Satellite displays on monitors in the main operations room tracked the movement of the rebel trucks and monitored them until they reached their destination at a warehouse in a small town named Jinkiraal. Quickly the location was reported to local authorities and the People's Army's special forces and teams were rapidly dispatched. Within just an hour, the warehouse was surrounded by police and army vehicles alike. No one was getting out of there. "Attention rebel forces, this is the People's Army and Jinkiraal Police Force; you are surrounded. You have ten minutes to open up this warehouse and give yourselves up!" The ten minutes rapidly passed without response. A demolitions team was signaled to place C-4 on the warehouse's main garage and then they promptly detonated it. After the smoke cleared, numerous troops clad in body armor charged into the warehouse and began searching it for rebel forces. It didn't take long for the warehouse to be searched, but there was no sign of the rebels save for the empty trucks they left behind. It was as if the resistance members and the weapons they stole had completely dematerialized. Each man present knew that couldn't actually be possible, so swiftly the building was searched for any alternative exits that the rebels could have escaped through. What was found was a trap door that led into a subterranean tunnel. Quickly, soldiers and police filed into the tunnel and followed it. They traversed a couple dozen yards of the tunnel when suddenly a large explosion rocked the passage and debris came falling down from all around, blocking off the rest of the way and trapping—and possibly killing—several officers of the law and soldiers of the People's Army. The Resistance made certain that they maintained their victory. |

Out in the middle of the northern Yshurakan tundra, a collective gathering of rebels was taking place. Lilya Sodderov climbed out of her jeep with her second in command and personal guard, Bruno Grusov. There was a small group of their fellows standing at the edge of the hill and they walked over to them. Immediately quite a few turned to salute at Lilya's arrival but she merely waved them to put their hands back down. What they had discovered here was far more important than some elitist show of respect that she detested. "What have we got here?" she asked her chief advisor, Maini Tykkylainen, who was already standing with the rest of the crowd, looking toward the sight that held their attention. "Just what we thought it was, a relic from the Dominion Wars," Maini replied, crossing her arms over her chest to keep her trenchcoat closed against the cold wind. Several yards away, below the hill, was a sight to incite both horror and fascinated awe. The size of the cockpit was small, large enough for just one operator, and aside from the gaping wound on its side was perfectly rounded with an array of weapons decorating it. From this central body, three slender, elongated legs spread out from it in disjointed crookedness. A Demonspider tank the records called it and only over half a decade earlier when the Dominion had invaded Europe, it had played a part in the assault that nearly destroyed Yshurak utterly. Now it lied here, damaged and forgotten in the years since the Dominion's occupation of the north before it was eventually chased from Europe entirely. "How soon can we get it operational?" Lilya asked, stroking her chin in thought over the technological marvel. The man who had designed these terrors, while having been an unethical monster, was surely a mad genius several generations ahead of his time. "We don't really know," Maini replied with a frown. "Oskari, our chief engineer, says that there's a lot of damage to be repaired, but he does say he's certain that he can get the thing operating at a hundred percent eventually." Lilya nodded. "Very well. However, we can't afford our activity out here to be noticed. We need to take somewhere far more secure." She turned and shouted a few orders to arrange a truck to be brought to cart the Demonspider tank away. Immediately a radio transmission was sent out on the Resistance's secure band. Lilya only hoped that Oskari Pihlavisto was correct in his assessment on the machine's viability, as the wrecked Demonspider would be a great lynchpin for their rebellion in their struggle against the Communist overlords of Yshurak. |

OOC: If you happen to mind me butting in, then you can omit this but otherwise, I figured I'd playing along since the Swiss aren't around to help. IC: The situation in Yshurak was far from a secret, although the government controlled media certainly spun their own tail on the situation, Moscow's own intelligence found a few discrepancies in the "official" report. The Russians weren't ever sure what to do with their Communist neighbors of the north. Naturally, for all the years before the Dominion Wars, Moscow tread carefully whenever Yshurak was involved due to the immense power of the Communist Republic, most specifically their military power. Even after the Dominion, they remained a powerful nation in the European theater and it was not wise to anger such a giant. Thus for as long as Russia has existed, since the fall of the Russian Rome, the government made sure to keep good and open relations with the Communist even though it was a stark contradiction to their own beliefs. After all, the very principles that the Communist Republic of Yshurak was built on were the same very principles the Russian Empire despised and actively crushed in their own territory. Tsar Alexei sat quietly in his office in the Kremlin palace, there were several documents that required his attention. Personally, he was quite tired as he'd spent most of the day doing just was he was doing now, reviewing paperwork. The only difference was earlier, he was surrounded by aides and advisers to "explain" everything to him. Personally, he sometimes found himself more confused over certain subjects after such meetings. Taking a sip of tea, he placed the tea cup back on the saucer and began reading the latest report from the campaign in Africa. The Tsar still wasn't entire comfortable with the use of the biological weapon but understood that Russia needed a quit victory in that theater. Rubbing his eyes, he placed that report down and pick up another and began reading over it. He hadn't had the paper in his hand long before he reached over his desk to his telephone and paged his personal secretary. Immediately the door to his office swung open and the young woman came into the Tsar's office and bowed. "You paged your majesty, is there something I can do for you." "Yes" Alexei said, his attention on the report in his hand and not his aide. "I don't believe the hour is entirely late, can you send for Prince Konstantine Meshchersky." "Of course your majesty" the aide said, bowing again. "I will call for him at once." Alexei never noticed the aide leave, instead be began fumbling through the various folders on his desk before other documents, similar to the one in his hand, were found. Like some great novel, these reports seemed to captivate the Tsar's attention which was, for this hour, impressive. Especially so, given the Tsar's fatigue for the day's long events. 30 minutes had passed before another knock at the Tsar's door came. "Enter" Alexei said, only now taking his eyes off the reports to see who it was. Prince Meshchersky enter the room, being announced by the Tsar's personal secretary before she closed the door to the office. Alexei rose and came around his desk to greet the man whom he'd already seen once today. "Your majesty" said the Prince as he bowed, "to what do I owe this audience. Is there something more that I may be of assistance to?" "Yes I should think so" said Alexei as he offered the Prince a seat before taking his own back around his desk. "I seemed to have come across the Okhranka's report on the situation in Yshurak. As my Minister of Imperial Intelligence I would like to get your personal views on the matter." "I see your majesty, but of course. No doubt, as you read in my report, it appears our communist neighbors to the North are having a bit of a problem with their northern most provinces. We're not entirely certainly of the extent of the problem, but recent satellite sweeps have photographed train accidents we don't entirely believe were accidents at all. From what we've gathered, through informants, the rebels appear to be extremists and perhaps even anarchists." "Yes, I saw that in your report and found that most troubling" said the Tsar. "What is your opinion on the government's probability of success in this matter?" "Well naturally your majesty, a communist government such as Yshruak's operates much like a well-oiled machine. They're ability to control information and change it to their desired format, is an incredible and admirable ability. That said, the Communists are facing economic duress from the lingering effects of the Dominion's European War, something we capitalist countries have been faster to repair, although admittedly we still continue to struggle with recovery. Its hard to tell a man that his town is recovering when he cannot even supply dread to his dinner table. Thus, we feel the Republic may be in a fragile state and unless it is willing to fight a rather costly civil-war, it may find itself overthrown in revolution." "An the outcome of this revolution?" "Well your majesty, again we are not entirely sure" said the Prince, a look of disappointment of his face was clear. Naturally, as a man whose currency was information, he seemed to have little in the pockets at the particular moment. "Like I said, we believe these rebels to be extremist, possibly even anarchists. It could be we're witnessing the beginning of a full-blown, anarchist revolution which will naturally install some sort of anarchist government." Alexei leaned back in his chair. "I thought that was the conclusion of the information gathered so far when I read your reports but I wanted to hear it as well, just to make sure." "Does your majesty wish for Russia to intervene?" "It may be in our best interests to do so" said Alexei with a troubled look. "I don't condone Communism and this would not be a fight to aid its survival, but more a fight to ensure the status quo is preserved. It already troubles me that a extremist Genesisian country holds shores in the Baltic, especially so close to our own. More so, that now we must deal with the militarism of the Moffs. Add to that, an anarchist government to our immediate North and I fear Russia will find itself surrounded by hostile intentions. No, if aiding communists will preserve the balance and our own security, then it is what we must do. Besides, Yshurak aided us in our campaign against the Scandinavian Republic. You could say, we owe them the same curiosity." "What do you propose we do then your majesty?" "I will have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contact our embassy in Venderwelle" said the Tsar. "Its been a long time since we have any direct contact with our neighbors and I believe it is time to correct that...." _____________________________________________________ The phone of the embassy in Venderwelle rang and the office of the ambassador, Count Boris Fyodorovich Anrep, was quit to respond. It had been a long time since such a call had come to the embassy. In the age of the International Commonwealth of Nations, embassy such as this were not as busy as they once were. There was even talk that such embassy would be closed entirely, in favor of the more centralized commonwealth of embassies in Toledo. Whether or not such actions would happen, Count Anrep was not entirely worried over. Speaking directly with the Tsar, over the telephone, the Count was directly instructed on what his majesty's wishes were before he left the embassy. When the call was concluded, a fax was sent to his office which was received by his secretary and given to him before he left the embassy in his personal car. His destination was the President's office and in his hand, was a direct message from the Tsar himself.

President Yugaf Lutenktzi was perusing the latest file on Resistance activity, and sneered at what he found. The northern provinces werefalling rapidly out of control. Anti-government protests and riots were growing more frequent and the number of shootouts between rebels and authorities were becoming less isolated. Along with a few more bombings of government offices, the details were beginning to make it sound like it was a war zone. Fortunately it was just limited to the north, as the majority of Yshurak remained safely stable save for that incident last month concerning the riot here in Venderwelle itself that diverted the supply flight from Switzerland to Ziggeridorik. Lutenktzi knew instinctively that the Resistance had been behind that fiasco, and how they had known ahead of time about the weapon supply, Yshurakan intelligence was still investigating. Nevertheless, that day his government was able to capture and detain several suspected Resistance operatives and when the pressure had been applied in the right places, they learned a number of things about the rebel structure and key names of important people. Indeed, the suspected cybercriminal and AWOL engineer from the Yshurakan National Space Operation, Oskari Pihlavisto, had been confirmed to have Resistance sympathies. He turned a page of the report he was reading and was faced with a photograph of grafitti that read; "Who is John Galt?" Lutenktzi felt significantly ill upon reading that and sneered with derision. How would anyone in Yshurak know what that fictional character was? That book had been banned in Yshurak for decades. Suddenly his intercom buzzed and he reached over his desk to answer it. "What is it?" "Count Boris is here to see you, Comrade President," his secretary answered. "Send him in." |

OOC: A minor palpitation, all is well :P IC: Count Boris Anrep enter the President's office and bowed slightly. "President Lutenktzi thank you for seeing me as I know that pressing matters in the north have kept much of your attention as of late." The President returned with pleasantries and offered the ambassador a seat. "Thank you Mr. President' said the Ambassador as he took his seat. "I've come with an official message straight from the Tsar himself" he said as he handed the fax straight to the president. While the President read over the message, the ambassador continued. "Moscow is aware of the situation and as you will find in the letter, his majesty wishes to send the Prime Minister without delay to your office to discuss what the Russian Empire can do to help your government at this time. Naturally, your government's help in the affair in Hahklallah has not been forgotten by Moscow and the Tsar would like to repay that debt. We will of course show an equal amount of vigilance as you did in Hahklallah, on our part in this affair here. Keeping northern Europe stable is a primary concern for Moscow and the current administration of Yshurak has shown itself a stable and reliable institution, one Russia is willing to defend." Clearing his throat, he continued. "While the Prime Minister can discuss more permanent assistance from Russia, his majesty has authorized me to offer immediate assistance in whatever form you may request and need. We can have air power or ground power in the field at your request and without delay. Yshurak security is of the utmost importance to his mjesty, the Tsar." |

President Lutenktzi nodded, a smile crossing his lips as he directed the Count to take a seat. His smile was a concocted facade to hide his distaste for the elitest titles like Tsar and Count that the Russians used. Nevertheless, Russia had always remained a good friend and the President always welcomed its officials as such. And indeed, the Count was very much correct about the debt Russia owed for Yshurak's role in Hahklallah. After finishing reading and rereading the telegram, the President looked back up at the Count. "Russia's assistance in these trying times would be greatly welcomed. The northernmost reaches of my country have been effectively destabilized thanks in small part by the Dominion when they tried to take Europe. These rebels have taken advantage of that fact and poured salt into the wound every chance they could get. While I have no concrete evidence, I'm even beginning to suspect Swiss involvement in the latest rebel success; there were far too many coincidental events with an interesting air of coordination about it. "Tell the Tsar that I will accept his offer. The rebels must be stopped at all costs before their activities begin to reach any farther south than the already have. My intelligence indicates that their operatives are appearing with better equipment as each week wears on. If we don't nip it in the bud now, we could see a full-fledged civil war in a matter of months." |

"I will sent word to the Tsar at once Mr. President" said the Count. "He will be sending the Prime Minister to discuss the long-term plans of our involvement in this matter. However, until he can arrive I am authorized to send word of any immediate need. If more air coverage is necessary we could have Russian jets over the northern territories within hours for both coordinated attacks as well as surveillance and reconnaissance. If the people of the North need humanitarian supplies, Russia can call in the help of H.E.A.R.T. " "Anything that can be done to show that your government is still in control and still cares for the people we are willing to do. We certainly don't need these terrorists gaining any political ground against your government with the people." |

"H.E.A.R.T. would be a welcome benefit to these trying times," President Lutenktzi replied, his smile becoming genuine. "So would the additional air cover. At the moment, air cover is the only reliable means we have been able to get into the northern provinces. Ground convoys and freight either make it through or they don't—the rebels having attacked plenty of our ground forces and supply shipments being sent into the area. Our only air force base in the area is under the highest security and I shudder to think what would happen if the rebels managed to gain control of it." He stood up and shook the Ambassador's hand. "Thank you for coming and listening to my country's concerns. I look forward to Russia's assistance in the matter." |

Once word reach Moscow that a paliminary agreement had been meet between themselves and the Yshurak government, the Tsar was quick to deploy the first of the aid. About a dozen Russian Sukhoi Su-30s and Mikoyan MiG-40s took to the skies and cross into the airspace of the Communist Republic. Coming in from the South, the Russians traveled across the great expanse of their Northern neighbors, contacting military officials of Yshurak to pinpoint possible locations of rebel camps and bases. Entering into the hot zone of rebel activity, the Russians aided Yshurakian aircraft already in the area by patrolling the skies and looking for enemy encampments. The Russians were lucky enough to spot enemy movement within hours of being deployed and engaged a small ground convoy. They were successful in eliminating the vehicles, which they believed were either troop or supply trucks. It was a small victory but it was also a big single to the enemy that the Russians were joining the fight. Further south, along the Russia/Yshurak border, troops were amassing. Aid was also being amassed, loaded in Russian medical trucks. While Russia fully intended to lobby for H.E.A.R.T. support, that would take a few days to amass and get to the Yshurakians most in need. Thus the Tsar ordered that Russia fit the bill for now until such time as the international community could be brought in. Messages were sent to the capital that the Russians would soon be moving over the border and green lights were given on both ends to begin the crossing of the border. |
