Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lurkiest of them all?
Post up here when you two are ready to begin, and I'll post instructions. To reiterate my requests from the main thread, please avoid viewing other participants' threads during stages one and two, please avoid discussing this thread elsewhere, and please keep your posts as minimal as possible.

I'm auctioning off a dollar bill. It is worth $1.00 US. The two of you will take turns bidding for it, and you both have as much money at your disposal as you care to bid. Bids must be in USD, and the smallest bid increment is one penny, or $0.01. The high bidder pays his most recent bid, and receives the dollar. The second-highest bidder also pays his most recent bid, but receives nothing. The winner will be whoever has the most money after the auction is over. (i.e. if you both have $X right now, your score will be $X - final bid + 1 if you win).

The bidding begins at $0.01.

NH, don't bid, that way we tie. Otherwise we go infinitely upwards and both lose our some of our infinite amount of money. :( ^^

You're not competing against the others this round, just each other.
