Al Araam, I was being facetious. However, you are only selling your house for social recognition that you have liquid capital equal to the value of the house you sold. If you want to be honest, you sold your house for pieces of paper or metallic bullion, neither of which have any value except that which we put into it.
At this point in time, however, your point is purely philosophical. Money does indeed have value because we believe it has value, but it is not the value that we individually ascribe to it. As for Harumf's pure barter, that would bring us back to the reason that currency was established in the first place. You don't need a sixteen wheeler to haul around your bits of paper or metal, nor do you need a warehouse to store them in. Furthermore, you don't need to worry about your bits of paper or metal rotting or otherwise becoming entirely devoid of value on the same short timetable as, say, a bushel of wheat.

Why gold at all? Why not energy credits, or Ithaca Hours?
Bottle caps?
This. YES! This.

You're gay. Fallout is awesome! :D

Ironically, Lans didn't really like Fallout 3.

I can understand why someone wouldn't like the Fallout series. Post-apocalyptic '50s is not everybody's cup of tea.

Fallout 3 sucked.

Better than Oblivion. Not a Fallout game.

Having never played Fallout 3, I would bet it probably sucks. Fan of F1 and F2 though.
