The Devil's Advocate

So its just gone midnight... and I've spent the last four hours playing Vampire: the Requiem online. I feel thoroughly disgusted with myself, but I really needed the RPG fix. For some reason, I thought it'd make a good thread. Hence this.

Anyone else play anything online? Any recommendations?

Vampire: the Requiem is a table top RPG in the World Of Darkness series published by White Wolf. They used to have an official online game on the White Wolf website, but that closed. Now the old admin from that has set up his own (much improved) website to play on: http://tarnishedreflections.com/ . It's not the same as playing the game with actual people around a table top. Or playing with people you know on IRC. But it doesn't suck.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lurkiest of them all?
I assume you're talking about play-by-post? If so, look for anyone running a Deadlands game. One of my favorite RPG's ever. DnD also has a couple of amazing settings - Ravenloft is my favorite, deeply rooted in psychological horror, and Black Sun is just plain cool.

Then my post stands. I've also had good experiences with Fallout PnP games, especially ones running J.E. Sawyer's SIMPLE System.

If you don't mind reading, Realms of Despair is a very cool MUD. It's got by far the best community out of any online game I've ever played. It's worth checking out - www.realmsofdespair.com.
