Check the air vents in the room. Also check under the cushions of the couch, under the couches, and any other nook or cranny missed! |

New Harumf - Achievement Unlocked: I found a quarter! You find some loose change behind the cushions of the couch. You don't find anything else remarkable. The dead jumpsuit in the elevator is carrying: a sheet of paper with "Meta", "88224646" and "XYZZY" written on it; a yellow shiny key; something that looks like a credit card; a pistol clip; a packet of beef jerky; a toothbrush and some small lengths of electrical wire. The alarm from the smashed vending machine is really making your ears hurt. Seriously. Did I mention that alarm was loud already? After gritting your teeth and searching every inch of this room, you finally decide you can't take the noise anymore. You stick your fingers in your ears and run back into the hallway with the metal grating. **** You are in a long narrow corridor. The corridor is lit with florescent lights. The floor is made of a metal grating. Behind you is a door back into the lounge area you just left. You are not going back in there without a good reason (like picking up loot you've left behind) unless you've got an idea about how to shut off that damn vending machine alarm. At the end of the corridor is a door back into the the room you started off in. **** Inventory Left hand - Roll of electrical tape Right Hand - Fireaxe - Grey one-piece jumpsuit -- 9mm pistol ---1 round left -- Note: Memory is the Key -- Note: XYZZY -- Note: 88224646 -- TV remote --Colour Keys ---The Red Key Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jul 12 2010, 02:35 PM.

Return to the room, covering ears, and take all useful items from the corpse. |

1. Define useful. 2. Which corpse? The guard, the computer jumpsuit or the elevator jumpsuit? 3. Your inventory is (almost) full. What are you going to drop? Not that this isn't a good idea. I just don't think you've thought it through. Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jul 12 2010, 04:33 PM.

Drop the two notes that say "XYZZY" and "88224646", and pick up the note that has both as well as "Meta" on it. Replace the pistol clip in the gun with the one the elevator corpse has. Examine the credit card. Examine the beef jerky to make sure it is safe. If so, eat it. Take the electrical wire. |

You grit your teeth and head back into the room. The "credit card" looks to be more like a card key (like the ones you get in hotels). It's plain white with a barcode strip running down the middle of it. The beef jerky looks salty but otherwise not dangerous. Sure you want to eat it? OK, we tried door number two. Go back to first room and try door number 1, to the left, and look around. |

You clang down the hallway into the foyer and enter door number one. You find yourself in a lab, entering through a door to the east side of the south wall. You see: A set of fume cupboards on the South wall (to your left). Lots of lab equipment in the centre of the room. A pneumatic tube on the North wall (directly in front of you). Large vents (like the one upstairs) on the North wall (to the left of the tube). There's a set of desks up against the West wall. There is a large dull mirror making up the top half of the West wall, the bottom half seems to be made of a wire mesh. |

Peek through the wire mesh, and what do you see? Also, ransack the desks. |

You see someone wearing a grey jumpsuit. They make the "shush" gesture at you and point towards the fume cupboards. You trash the stuff on the desks. You feel the rush of meaningless destruction. |

OK, check out the cupboards, but first, flash an "OK" sign to the dude in the jumpsuit, but hold on to your gun. |

You're currently carrying duct tape and a fireaxe. You'd have to put one down to hold onto your gun. You check out the cupboards. At first they seem like normal fume cupboards: a place to mix chemicals with a big extractor over the top of them to stop you breathing in poisonous fumes. However, you notice the side-panel on one of them is loose: you could probably pull it away. You leave the fireaxe on the ground so you can ready your gun. You can't help but feel that's a bit of a Darwin moment. The sidepanel comes away to reveal a hollowed out section of (the South) wall. It looks tight, but you could probably squeeze into the hole and crawl along the hollow to get to the space behind the grating on the West wall. |

Before trying a foolhearty crawl, let's re-look through that grating and see if there is anything of particular interest in there. |

Gun in hand you crawl into the crawlspace, following it along to the storage space behind the grating. You see: A rolled up bedmat, A note pad and biro, A hatch leading West, Some loose change, A hand mirror, A strange pair of gloves. |

The gloves appear to be made of some kind of flame retardant material. You pocket the mirror and loose change. The notepad has mostly unintelligible scribbles on it here's what you can make out: 88224646, B, A XYZZY Username: Meta Password: Memory Instructions: Heat mixture of sugar and potassium nitrate, pour syrup into canister and add fuse. Blue, Red, Yellow You unroll the bedmat. Inside is a device you immediately recognise as a smoke grenade.
