I'm in London, and watched the England-Slovenia game in a pub. There's partying on the streets still, and everyone is quite drunk.

...........

You know, the only reason we lost is because America isn't a third world country. Only third world countries can do good in this game, and since we are a first world country, are defeat was imminent.

Hehe, my cousin called seconds after the defeat. He's a huge soccer fanatic, so he was flipping out. I told him I just won $5, 'cause I was betting for Ghana (which is true). He's now pissed at me for being an "unpatriotic jackass".

We should've brought a big red button with black and yellow tape wrapped around the base to each of our games. I bet we'd do better then.

You're the reason we lost.

Its just like Vietnam all over again. We're losing because we don't have enough support from our home front.

We lost because we have some integrety - we don't flop on the ground and writhe in pain every time an opposing player gets within four feet of us. That sort of nonsense sickens me in sport. If you are going to have goals disqualified or sides reversed because of faked injuries, I think we should just start hurting them for real - same effect, right?

Sorry thats just hilarious.

EDIT:

This was required. Now if you excuse me I'm going to grit my teeth over a terrible call on a Wembley shot.

Disappointing. I'm rooting for Argentina now just because Lionel Messi has the awesome nickname "The Flea".

Great Ghana!!!

Don't be offended but i like african teams.
They are what we are no more but less money.

and think about:

a) Usa is not Italy - so why complain to be defeated by a good team after a good match?
Usa was not world champion tring to be not beaten by a band of shepards and postmen...

b) Ghana is really a good team and Africa has always a lot of good player, anyway the Goal of Ghana was one of the best since now...after Messi(and Quagliarella's one too for the matter...).

I'am for Ghana now, and after for Diego and his Argentina

Because in America we want to win at everything. That's just how we are.

But I'm happy for Ghana too, and I hope they go on to more victories.

Rad no one want lose, but anyone should know when he been beated after a good match.
Obviusly deafeat is not easy to accept...

But for exemple i like Rugby, i know we are not a good team(however able to stay in Six nations competion), America is a good team, good enought to play in world cup but with a long way to travell yet.

However you are a big chunk ahead to italy just now...Ghana is not New Zealand...

CLEVELAND ROCKS!
I root for the African teams too...

...After the US (obvious) and Germany (my last name (I don't say heritage since my name stretches back to the Revolutionary War in America, and I can trace other ancestors back to the Mayflower!)).

But anyway, I'll be rooting for Germany, then Ghana, then any other team that can be considered an underdog.

...

Still ticked we lost... Always next year (or 4 years I guess) ...

Don't look the values of players.
African players are always been well paid and valued in euro/asian/american/rest of the world teams.

African infrastructures and federations are poors.
I remeber an edition when Camerun players pratically play for free...

All you need in terms of infrastructure is a ball and a grassy field , and several millionaires to kick the ball around! Oh, and a well compensated team manager from UEFA.

These players don't play football in Africa, however. The Ivory Coast team, for example, feature Drogba, a starting forward for Chelsea, arguably one of the best teams in Europe.

Four players from Ghana play in Ghanan football federation. The rest populated assorted European teams, and more than half of those are first-class teams. They are not an African team, as we envision it.

Richard Kingson (Birmingham City, England)
George Owu (Al Masry Club, Egypt)
William Amamoo (Vasalund, Sweden)
John Paintsil (West Ham, England)
Hans Adu Sarpei (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany)
Harrison Afful (Asante Kotoko, Ghana)
Francis Dickoh (FC Utrecht, Holland)
Kofi Amponsah (Appollon Kalamarias, Greece)
Eric Addo (PSV Eindhoven, Holland)
John Mensah (Rennes, France)
David Addy (Wa All Stars, Ghana)
Anthony Annan (Stabaek, Norway)
Haminu Draman (Locomotiv Moscow, Russia)
Sulley Muntari (Portsmouth, England)
Laryea Kingston (Hearts, Scotland)
Prince Buaben (Dundee Utd, Scotland)
Michael Essien (Chelsea, England)
Eric Bekoe (Asante Kotoko, Ghana)
Emmanuel Agyemang Badu (Berekum Arsenal, Ghana)
Emmanuel Banahene (Heart of Lions, Ghana)
Junior Agogo (Nottingham Forest, England)
Quincy Owusu-Abeyie (Celta Vigo, Spain)
Matthew Amoah (NEC Breda, Holland)

Cool pic: Spain's Fernando Torres has an Middle-Earth Elvish tattoo on his forearm.

http://img.skysports.com/08/06/800x600/Allsport-David-Villa-Fernando-Torres-Joy-Russ_938302.jpg

The tattoo is supposed to say "Fernando." If only he got a tattoo across his arms that said "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them."
