You are standing in a corridor. Immediately behind you is a doorway heading SOUTH. The door has been kicked off the hinges. You can see: A door leading North; A bench against the East wall of the corridor; A coffee table in front of the bench; A pencil and notepad on the coffee table; A large TV screen on the West wall; And a strip of fluorescent lights on the ceiling. You can hear: A low electronic humming noise. There is nothing you can taste. You smell nothing. You are not (actively) touching anything. Action? |

You examine the TV. There is no obvious on button. Or any buttons of any kind. A red "standby" light is visible. You deduce you need a remote control. You examine the pencil and notepad. The pencil is slightly blunted. At first glance, the notepad appears blank. A tattered scrap of paper suggests that a page has been torn out of it. The pencil will fit in the pocket of your jumpsuit. The notepad will not fit - but you could rip a page out to keep if you choose. You take the pencil. You put the notepad back on the table. Leselier - Achievement Unlocked: Got the keys? **** You look under the COFFEE TABLE. The floor is cleanly swept. There is a KEY taped to the underside of the table. You take the KEY. Seems like the kind of thing you should pick up. The key has the letter "B" stamped on it. We'll call it the "B Key". Take PENCIL. Remove GRAPHITE (can be done with teeth, I did it plenty in elementary school). Crush graphite. Pour graphite over paper on NOTEPAD, to look for indentations on the NOTEPAD. |

Rhadamanthus - Pitfall: Over-eager You rip the apparently blank top-page from the notepad. You get the funny feeling you shouldn't have done that yet. You LISTEN to the humming. The television screen is emitting a low hum. All florescent lights are emitting a hum. The light nearest the door is emitting a hum and a low rattle. Something on the door (leading North) is emitting a low hum. There is an even lower hum and a muted grinding coming from beyond the door. Union - Achievement Unlocked: Graphite Eh? Union - Achievement Unlocked: Overcomplicated Union - Achievement Unlocked: Gumshoe You pour the graphite (not lead, of course) over the top-page you ripped out. (What was wrong with just rubbing the page with a blunted pencil?) You uncover an indentation - presumably made by someone writing on the sheet above. It reveals the following number sequence: 88224646 Inventory - Grey one-piece jumpsuit -- B Key -- Note: 88224646 Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jun 16 2010, 07:39 AM.

Open door using key... If key doesn't open door, break door down. Also, use notepad and pencil to draw map of doors opened, and hallways. |

Flumes - Achievement Unlocked: Not that Easy **** You put the key in the lock and try to open the door. It does not open. You try to break the door down. You end up hurting yourself. You take a look at the door. There is a keypad next to the door with the numbers one to nine. There are also two locks on the door, labelled "B" and "A". You have destroyed the pencil. You may not use it to make a map. There is an open door leading South (back into the grey room you woke up in). You are in a hallway. There is a locked door to the North. ****
You examine the bench and the area around it. It looks comfortable. It also looks like it could easily take your weight. If you stood on it, you could easily reach the ceiling. It also looks like you could move it without too much difficulty. There is nothing behind or under the bench. **** There is something in the light fixture that's rattling the light's casing. The hum is from the electric current. You cannot reach the light fixture to examine it further. Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jun 17 2010, 11:24 AM.

The key easily fits in the lock. You unlock the "B" lock. You still can't open the door, so you lock the B-lock again and pocket the key. If you want to leave the lock unlocked, or leave the key in the lock, then be more specific. |

New Harumf - Achievement Unlocked: Got the keys! **** You easily move the bench and remove the light casing. YEOUCH! That's hot. There is a small key rattling in the casing. The key is marked with the letter "A". You punch the code into the keypad. It bleeps and a green light comes on. You hear the electronic lock on the door disengage. After five seconds you hear the lock re-engage and the light goes out. Inventory - Grey one-piece jumpsuit -- Note: 88224646 -- B Key -- A Key Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jun 17 2010, 11:51 AM.
