So, I ride my scooter into the office this morning, and there is not a car in the parking lot. This, I view as strange. I am thinking, "did I miss a holiday or something?"

I get insidee the building using my key card, and all the lights are off. No one is to be seen. Power is on, but lights are off, so I turn on the lights in my area and walk to the lunchroom to put my sandwich in the fridge. I notice a pot of coffee is made, so I pour myself one. Strange, coffee made, but no one is here. I get back to my desk - phones are out of service, but my computer is on, but there is no on-line connection.

I'm thinking either alien abductions or an FBI round-up. I start trying other phones, and finally find a phone working on the fax machine, so I call the office emergency number to see if there is any info. "No reported problems anywhere" is the recorded message, and it hangs up on me. I call the IT help-line. I call our office in Houstron, Vorhees, even Pune, India, and no one knows anything.

At this point, I give up, turn off the lights, grab my helmet and scooter home. Still no idea. Thoughts??

Weren't there bad storms up there last night? Not that it explains why you got no info on the emergency line or from anyone else...

Could you have been accidentally exposed to some sort of radiation which caused you to be "out of phase" with the rest of your environment? Perhaps you've been knocked into a separate dimension so close to our own that you're tittering on the edge of our world and something new.

Or did you happen to fall asleep at the wheel of your scooter and riden straight through a time rift? Now follow me on this one, is there any strange noises in the distance...have you found anyone else yet or is your entire environment deserted? Have you spotted a langolier yet, they're pesky little boogers?

Have we all been living in a Matrix and Harumf has freed himself from the Matrix? Is this the last we'll ever hear from him?

Echoing Flumes's statement, there were tornadoes reported in around Windsor a couple of days ago and/or yesterday (which is across the river from Detroit), but I don't know what area of Michigan you live in, and the fact that there was no damage in the area at all further confuses things.

If he's "out of phase" then why doesn't he just fall through the floor?

*Raises both eyebrows*

Actually..................

I remember hearing about some structural damage to the Nuclear Power Plant in Toledo from these storms... That isn't too far south from NH south-central Gitchi Gummi.

NH: Did you go in to work today? If so, were things back to normal, and if so, did anyone give you an explanation?

Went to work today. Walked into the cafeteria and saw three collegues standing there, and said, "People!" They looked at me like I was crazy, and then said nothing. I said no more. No explaination was given for the events of yesterday. Very strange.

Guys, I think I can safely say that the area between Toledo, Detroit and Ann Arbor (and including the cities themselves) is the Midwest's version of the Bermuda Triangle. It would explain alot of things.

If by chance you have stumbled into another dimension, can I come along? These events have piqued my curiosity.

Wasn't there a show about a Bermudaques area within the borders of the USA...Eerie, Indiana..yes that was it.

Ok ok we need to figure this out. Lets see, to get to the bottom of this we'll need a VW van, a Great Dane, E (to get really high so he'll have a case of the 24/7 munchies), Union/Ulgania to pull at the ole ascot, and...... oh nvm. I guess some mysteries are better left unsolved.

I believe much of this is related to the fact that there always seems to 3 or 4 guests online at any given time. I don't remember that being the case a year or two ago

Nope; nowhere near the highs. Used to be able to see 10-12 guests relatively often for no reason.

Weird.

Okay, but to rephrase, more now since when I joined. 10-12 at a time is terrible and hilarious.

The number of guests online probably reflects roughly the percentage of FBI/NSA assets that are tied up monitoring this forum at any given time.
