OOC- Posting this here, as this will take up Americas and the Pacific. Once campaign hits Asia proper and the American once again falls to stalemate, a new thread will be launched in Asia. IC- Port of New Hermannstadt, Pacifica In the dead of night, Kasnyia's entire fleet of superbattleships left port for what may be the last time. Certainly they would never return to New Hermannstadt, where they had taken refuge for the last couple of decades, protecting it to protect the refugee paradise Pacifica had become with the war. The crew of the fleet would miss their stay here, but they were also relieved to finally switch off the backfoot and back into the fray, which they hadn't really been since the Kasnyian civil war that had predated the current world conflict by almost ten years. Some of the men on the ship were old enough to not have even been born when Gassel had taken over, let alone remember what their homelands looked like. Likewise many of the then newly-minted sailors who had fled to fight another day were now the new officers. The old men of the sea. Times had changed. And with this new mission, they hoped to change them further. The fleet of superbattleships set their directions toward the target: The Dominion Naval Base of Hawaii. The trip would take a few days (they dared not steam at full power lest they brought attention to themselves). In that time, insanity would begin elsewhere. But the unspoken thought among the superbattleship captains was a simple one: God, let them take the bait. OOC- Just getting the thread started. Edited by Kasnyia, Feb 12 2010, 01:40 AM.

OOC- Anyone wants to start their ends of the operation do so please. I don't wanna carry this by myself. IC- East Pacific Fleet Headquarters, Pearl Harbor, Closed Zone of Hawaii 2:43 AM With the recent surprise invasion of California, The Dominion's Hawaii base was picking up activity, coordinating the invasionary forces and handling logistics when before, they were merely the beacon of Zapht's authority against the Veicht insurrection. From the beginning of that sad episode until now, Hawaii had taken the back seat to the Dominion base in Cuba, which had briefly been surrounded by forces loyal to Gervensburg and had been tasked with regaining a connection to the Dominion's forces in both Africa and Asia. Now that that chapter of Dominion history has closed, the focus had shifted back to Hawaii. With the base already on alert, it wasn't long then before they discovered several large blips inbound from the general direction of Pacifica. After a scan confirming them to be Kasnyian superbattleships, the entire fleet was mobilized to protect the base from having their operations disrupted by the raid. The fleet already on patrol included one dozen Vallahalla Mk. II battlecruisers, three carriers, several flotillas of destroyers and frigates, and support ships. More could easily be called on from the islands, but they would take some hours to get to full working order and out of the dock, and so they started the scramble process as the patrol fleet moved en mass to engage the fleet of superbattleships. Comanding them was Commodore Van Meers, a holdover from the Topaz Army that had been given his choice of command after assisting Gassel in his takeover of Kasnyia from one of the original Vallahalla vessels, the Koramatros. Within hours, a battle like noneother would commence. |

Since the war in the Americas fell silent, the Confederacy had been hard at work repairing and rearming its massive fleet. Before the war in the Americas began, the Confederacy spent all its resources preparing for war. Ships were among the hit priority items that the Confederacy built, practically doubling their peace-time Navy. When the War came to the Americas, the fleets fought hard against Veicht and then the Dominion. They had certainly scored several minor victories during the war but still were not strong enough to punch into the Caribbean much to the administration's dismay. Now that fleet was repaired, guns rearmed, and engines ready to hit the high speeds. Another aggressive draft inducted more Confederate sons and daughters into the service. Fight For Freedom, Fight For Justice, FIGHT TO KICK DOMINION ASS was the regular slogan recruiters liked to use to attract the Confederacy's youth to service. Given the destruction and lives lost by the Dominion thus far, it wasn't a hard ticket to sell. Certainly these recruits were far younger than the Confederacy wanted to use but these were desperate times. If they could fire a riffle, fly a jet, or steer a ship the Confederacy put them in a uniform. Out in the Atlantic, the fleet sat waiting for the encrypted message to attack. ------------------------------------------------------- The Russian Fleet had left from Barcelona weeks ago, refueled, rearmed, and ready for the fight. The Empire was ready to finally take the fight to the Pacific. Europe had suffered greatly because of the Dominion and Gassel still threatened their freedom. He had to be stopped and this plan was their first viable plan that could bring the armies of the free world to that end. Much like the Confederates, the Empire had also enacted a draft to round up every last person that was old enough to hold a weapon. The youngest among these recruits was thirteen, which was certainly far younger than the Empire use to recruit. However, these were desperate times and the Empire was running out of normal aged citizens to recruit and they needed all the bodies they could fine. If God intended for the Empire to pay for this unthinkable act, then they would have to pay. For now though, the Empire had a fleets full of soldiers and they were on their way to the Americas, ready to fight into the Pacific. |

Tierra del Fuego Posted Image The Romano was the pride of the Huescan submarine fleet, and headed the path for a large squadron of twenty-one nuclear attack submarines - Huesca's first contribution to the war effort. Impressive, considering it was a land-locked state these days, that it could contribute even one ship to a naval assault in the Pacific. The bulk of the Huescan fleet was stationed at the port San Sebastián in the Basque country, in the protectorate of Navarra, and the military brass had been dying to prove that Falangism had not died with Hispania. Navigator Adrelan noted that they had just passed South America, and were heading north once again. Good progress. Ahead of schedule. The ship broke the water level, to relay its position to allied ships that were also part of this operation. |

The Fen fleet was still working on rearming, and because the manufacturing slowdown had hit the navy much harder than the ground forces, the Fen contribution to a prolonged battle would first be in the form of troops and planes. The navy would be projected at 65% power, with the remainder being able to come after the initial deployment. |

Gulf of Panama "Yo, Morris," Michael Dillon called out. "I'm picking up a shit-ton of radio activity in the Pacific." "Huh?" Morris, Greaves and the rest of the BB command staff gathered around the communications equipment. "Radar's picking up a bunch of ships heading toward the Dominion base in Hawaii. Are we still under contract with them?" "I think so," Morris said. "Get the fleet going towards Hawaii, contact the Dominion brass there and see if they need our help." |

OOC- Just a general reminder, the American theater is only in stalemate. Heavy fighting continues and the Dominion remain as dangerous and control as much as before in this region, its just that neither side is making any progress like before. So careful of letting guards down... IC- The lead superbattleship was already primed when the first of the Dominion Hawaiian islands patrol fleet...a frigate...came within range of her main guns. Normally, the superbattleships were used as mobile floating fortresses to protect against the Dominion naval incursions that had berated Pacifica for the last two decades, and thus never fired offensively during normal operations in the hopes of not attracting trouble. Not the case this time. Using just her forward most main gun, the lead ship fired a volley at the incoming warship, sinking it in one go. As expected, enemy chatter exploded, and the fleet stopped dead in the water and waited for the onslaught. Here, fishy, fishy, fishy.... ------------- The message was clear to Commodore Van Meers. Kasnyia was baring her fangs. An unsurprising move, especially in light of the Dominion's recent invasion of California. He had prepared for such an attack and now he would show the Emperor's sailors their folly in resistance. The other ships were still loading up on munnitions, so it would be awhile yet before he could attack, but he would respond in kind with something else in the meantime... "Lieutenant," he called as he turned toward his Scythirian aide. "Sir?" "Hawaii is about to come under siege. Prepare our antiship defenses. Five-Seven-Sevens and Prowers, for now." "Sir!" exclaimed the aide as he made preparations for the islands to go into siege mode. For their first volley against the intruder, Objekt-577 fighter-bombers and Prower STS missiles would be used. Highly effective but in short numbers, it wasn't likely they would offer resistance for long before the ships broke through. But time was all that was needed and once the fleet was on the way Van Meers would send out more efficient means to take care of the problem. EDIT- The Commodore also recieved a transmission from the Black Ball people, who apparantly had also discovered the fleet, asking permission to assist. He granted it. IC- "Sir, Hawaii is readying everything they have against us," an ensign reported to the CO of the lead superbattleship. "Inform the Alliance and Coalition force that the trap has been sprung but that the rats are not yet in position. I want status reports from ALL allies before we continue with this raid. If they aren't ready by now, we back out. If they are, I'll give the final signal for 'go'." "Yes sir!" |

On the conquered islands of Telosan America, in Tresoan City, the resistance was biding their time. Seemingly forgotten by all but each other and their brothers in the exiled army that was currently hiding in the southern states of the Confederacy. The Dominion garrisoned force had notably declined from the numbers that had initially been left there to occupy the islands. The Dominion controlled news explained that they were in North America, assisting in the "glorious victory" that was sure to come against "the traitorous generals of the Veicht Regime" and the ragtag army assembled by the Confederacy and her allies. It had been reported that Telosanti forces were spotted at the front, prompting suspicious accusations to fly at the citizens of the suppressed nation. Apparently some still remembered they existed, for a messenger was smuggled into the city. He said the islands were to be liberated shorty, but before it happened, they needed agents to travel through the Dominion's lands to act as spies. It was easier for them to do so as they were already within the Dominion's borders. Less than a week later, 23 men, all former snipers from Telosan's Special Forces, and most veterans of the Espanoran War, left the island in a handful of speedboats. Once on the mainland, they spread out, taking on a variety of roles. A few stayed in South America, where they scattered across the continent, keeping in touch with the untraceable phones given to each. The rest obtained passports or visas and found themselves on various islands and countries in Oceania and Asia. Under cover of night, they would put of posters or leave flyers on people's doorsteps. The flyers more or less foretold the coming of the American Alliance and the European Coalition, telling of many victories in Europe and the ongoing war in America, which the general public remained unaware of. Besides that, there was not much more they could do. They waited, re-posting and re-distributing the propaganda. |

The Confederate fleet stood ready for battle. General Campbell, Supreme Commander of Confederate Forces, was not a man who enjoyed the open waters. "Damn it, I'm meant to fight on land not out in the God forsaken Ocean" he sniped at his aid. The Confederate naval forces along with the rest of the American Alliance were ready to make their move. Transmissions were sent to the Superbattleship commander. ------------------------------------- The Russians, who had left Barcelona about a week back after having rearmed and repaired the fleet, were now within range of their target and a good thing too, since they had received word from the Superbattleship. They had come with the Union fleet, apart of the European Coalitions massive flotilla. They radioed the overseer of the operation that they were ready to push into the Pacific. (OOC: H, if this messes up anything just say so and I'll change this statement. Regardless, the Russians are ready) |

OOC- Sorry for being vague about the superbattleship's name. Had to find the superbattleship list. For future reference: Three are off the coast of Mexico to be used in attacking Panama and Galapagos and any other actions off the west coast of Central America. These are the IKS Markgraf, IKS Bahen, and IKS Gigant. The other five, IKS Vizegraf, IKS Vjerrs, IKS Prinz Karl Xavier XIV, IKS Vorhut, and IKS Varbach are attacking Hawaii. The IKS Vizegraf is the lead ship. Commanding Officer of the Hawaii attack fleet is Grand Admiral Maximillian Hauer of His Majesty's Imperial Navy. CO of the Mexico fleet is Fleet Admiral Victor Rabb of His Majesty's Imperial Navy. IC- Grand Admiral Hauer was informed that confirmations were trickling in. He knew now that they would indeed cross the line of no return. After a brief communique with Rabb, who also confirmed his position, Hauer began moving. Soon, all five ships began surrounding the island, readying salvos to bomb the island into utter submission. ---------------------- Van Meers could see what they were doing. But he couldn't figure out why. Nevertheless, he took no chances and after making sure that everything he had on the islands was mobilized, he call for reinforcements from Galapagos. Superbattleships though they may be, he thought, seeing overwhelming numbers against them may make the enemy think twice. He also sent a message to Fleet Headquarters in Guam. ---------------------- The Galapagos Fleet, having been dormant for a few years at this point apart from patrols and sub hunts, were finally being called over by Station Hawaii for assistance. They responded with great fervor, happy to be back into the battle. They informed Hawaii it would take an hour for them to ready their ships and half a day for the fleet to reach. They would have to hold out til then. ---------------------- Off the coast of Mexico, Fleet Admiral Rabb started moving his three superbattleships, commanded by the IKS Gigant and complimented by a small flotilla of light cruisers, toward Galapagos, alert for any ship or aircraft that could possibly give their position away too early. |

The Menhadien ships stood apart from their allied counter-parts, not only where they slightly larger in size, but they also where the most damaged looking of the fleets. Patched up with what ever they could find, these mighty warships almost looked comical, while they certainly looked unprofessional. But something about them couldn't be tainted by the shoddy looks, their pride. Proudly they flew the banners of a destroyed nation, proudly their sailors carried them selves despite being a beaten people, proudly they stood apart from the rest of the Allied fleets despite having home to return to. This was the spirit of Menhad, their pride in their combat prowess could not be damaged by defeat. Proudly they would fight to the end, no matter how bleak or hopeless that end might be. These grim remains would fight to the last man, and as the last vestiges of Menhadien power they would do it proudly. Edited by Menhad, Mar 23 2010, 12:55 PM.

Everyone was ready. At least, everyone who could be expected to take part. The point of no return had been passed. Henceforth, they could no longer afford to holdback. The lead superbattleship, the IKS Vizegraf, volley at the ready, began firing in earnest against the island fortress. the other ships, when not defending against the occassional cruiser, did the same. -------------- Dominion fighter bombers had come into visual range of the targets and began attacking the capital warships from above. They wouldn't do much damage to the seaworthiness of the supers, but it was hoped they could at least cause enough casualties on the deck and on the upper superstructure to keep the enemy wary. --------------- Just off the coast of Mexico, Admiral Rabb began his quiet push south toward the Galapagos naval base, keeping his pace slow until he was sure the defenders from that island chain were confirmed to be heading toward Hawaii. --------------- Word had gotten to Van Meers that Black Ball had arrived in Hawaii. Whatever leave they had intended to enjoy on the island had been cancelled as the naval base went on red alert. The CO called in the Black Ball fleet commander and informed him of the situation, that the Kasnyian Imperial fleet had now placed the islands under a volleying blockade and that reinforcements were being ordered from Galapagos to safeguard the logistics route for the Invasion of California currently in progress as well as to keep safe the Dominion Pacific Fleet's primary base in the West Coast Americas. |

OOC- Which base are you talking about? IC- The importance of Hawaii ensured that Galapagos would send everything it had to help reinforce the base. As such, when satellites confirmed the Dominion fleet to be at the half-way point between the two island chains a day later, Rabb gave the order to push toward Galapagos with all speed. The fleet commanded by Admiral Rabb would split into two groups. One would attack Galapagos, while the other attacked the Pacific side of Dominion-occupied Panama. One ship, a helicopter carrier, would head further south to assist in a special ops mission with Telosanti partisans in the straits of Magellan. A signal was given to their American and European allies to commence the attack on the Caribbean. EDIT- OOC- Ah. IC- Enemy carriers had now entered the fray, and the Kasnyian superbattleships now had to engage all guns to keep the aircraft at bay while still doing their duty. As they had no carriers of their own to subvert the Dominion's air superiority, having sent them all south to Mexico, the fleet would just have to deal with it from the surface. Ammunition ships were called from just beyond the combat area to move in under the protection of the superbattleships' turrets, though they would not be needed until later. ----------- The damage being done against Hawaii was staggering, but Van Meers had no intention of giving up. With Black Ball handling air operations, he could finally focus on his sea assets. Submarines were finally ready for deployment, and he quickly took advantage of that fact. With their targets on the island and the fighters in the sky distracting them, submarines may be just what they need to tip the battle... Edited by Kasnyia, Apr 10 2010, 08:59 PM.

Just outside the Caribbean Sea... The signal was received with great pleasure for both the American and European forces. Both the Confederates and the Russians took to high speed in hopes of being among the first ships to begin the naval engagement against Dominion forces in the area. The Dominion ships in the Caribbean had had time to plan for such an attack against an enemy fleet and were certainly well organized, trained, and armed by the times the first ships began engaging the enemy. Still the American and European nations plowed deep into enemy waters, taking their fair share of damage but at the same time returning the gifts in kind. Fighters and other essential aircraft had also taken to the skies in order to creek the most havoc against the defending Dominion forces. Panama was of course the main objective and now that there was no return, the fleets had to make it through. It was only now that many of the captains truly understood the costs that were being asked of them in this operation. damage reports were flowing into their fleet admiral's ears like the constant chirping of spring birds. Smoke would billow from one ship only to beginning billowing from another only second later. Luckily this was not a one sided battle as the Dominion ships were also taking their far share of damage. Still there were a good many ships to get through before the fleets made it to the canal. The Russia although among the first to begin fighting had taken it upon themselves to be among the last ships to enter and exit the canal. After all, it was their bombs that would be detonated in the canal. Should those bombs fail, it would be their responsibility and duty to destroy the canal as they saw fit. For now the Russians along with the other stronger fleets were slowing pushing forward, looking to create gaps by forcing the enemy north and South, giving a tight but navigable corridor for the other fleet to continue heading west into the Canal. --------------------------------------------------- Entering the theater of Hawaii ... The Galapagos fleet, under the command of Fleet Admiral Rhee Tae-woo made their way swiftly to the battle at Hawaii in order to give maximum support. The enemy fleets were in sight by the time the order was given to open fire. The Royal Kasynian ships were of the top priority given the current damage that were inflicting upon the island. Admiral Taw-woo had to interrupt that constant bombardment and stop it eventually less the Dominion lose the primarily installations that support military operations in this region. The fleet moved in close and began firing relentlessly on the Kasynian ships. Fighters and other primarily aircraft took to the skies both against the Kasnyians as well as the Menhadian fleets. Fighter bombers were the primarily weapon of choice, raining down on the enemy fleet in order to sink as many ships as possible. No word from the Galapagos had reach the Fleet Admiral and thus is only concern was the battle at hand. |

OOC- This needs to pick up... IC- The Russians were coming from the North Atlantic. The Confederacy was coming in from the Gulf. For the Dominion Naval Garrison in Cuba, this was expected to happen eventually...at least the Confederate part of the attack was. The Russians could prove difficult, and so they would reinforce the northern waters with everything they had. But even so, it was not completely out of the blue. After all, they had assets in Panama. They parried the initial attack and proceeded to reinforce their blockade as much as possible. ------------------- Fleet Admiral Rabb was finally within striking distance of the Galapagos, and apparantly his battle group sent to help out the Telosantis had, while still a ways away from the occupied territory, had not yet been detected. His forces en route to Panama would wait a beat until more of the Dominion's Carribbean fleet were occupied...they could not risk a battle too early for fear of damaging the canal. In the mean time, he would give the order to fire on the now-defenseless Galapagos. ------------------- Galapagos Military District, Galapagos Islands- The commander of the islands, a Caronicillian who had remained loyal to Zapht, hadn't been too alarmed when Hawaii came under attack. Being a waystation for the invasion of the last major untouched territory in the Americas had earned it its targetted status. The ships from Galapagos, now all sent to defend it, would save Hawaii and the commander would be seen as a hero. As he waited for the results of the battle, he slept in his room, taking the chance to laze away to the upper echelons of the Dominion military. The first salvo that had hit the island had had the unfortunate (for him) side effect of hitting the officer's quarters first. He was killed in his sleep. Within five minutes, the entire archipelago became a warzone. Pacific Fleet Headquarters in Guam took direct control of the base and immediately informed the Galapagos attack fleet on its way to Hawaii about the attack, but told them to continue course and defend Hawaii. In the mean time, another fleet would be sent in from the Philippines, but they would take days to arrive. In the meantime, the Dominion ordered the coast guard fleet of western South America, including any capital ships docked for leave or repairs, to scramble. --------------------------------- Hawaii was madness. Van Meers now had his reinforcements and took immediate advantage of his enemy's lack of vessels, big as they were. By now the logistical line had stopped entirely, and all merchant ships en route to Hawaii were ordered to either turn back or took the cargo for Hawaii itself as it defended against the siege. ---------------------------------- As the superbattleships fended off attack while trying to keep pressure on the many military land assets, carriers within the fleet began attack runs against the industrial district.... OOC- Will continue later. |

As fighters attacked at defensive positions in the eastern industrial districts, the more well-protected western industrial district, at the far end of the chain, remained quiet. At the moment. Several miles due west of Hawaii, a single light carrier had managed to sneak passed the defenses, having broken off from the main attack fleet a full day before the superbattleships made their move. Taking advantage of the lack of detection, the aircraft carrier, launched a single fighter squadron...the Fox Unit. They only had to travel a few miles before they knew they were in Dominion territory...the water had turned opaque and green over the years of pollution from the nearby refineries and factories. It broke the heart of the pilots to see such a beautiful place turned into a wasteland. "What HAPPENED here?" asked one of the wingmen, "THIS is Hawaii?" "Cut the chatter," replied the squad leader, "The industrial district doesn't know we're here yet." "Intel says there are several active sensor buoys between us and the district," another wingman stated, "Keep as close to the surface as possible but be careful...don't let the exhaust of your engines touch the water or you might be in for a nasty surprise." "Gotcha!" "Let's take 'em all out!" They kept low, attacking any Dominion installations in the area. OOC- More later. This was basically a bump post. Don't wait on me. |

The Confederate fleet was the first to finally reach Caribbean waters and engage the main obstacle between the allied free world and the Pacific. About two hours after their arrival the Russians finally reached Caribbean waters, between them was all the other fleets that had managed to assemble for the fight. The Free World pushed hard against the Dominion blockade within the Caribbean, the Confederates made good use of their blockade running assault ships. Though originally designed for river warfare against the Dominion up the Mississippi, they had been retrofitted for saltwater warfare now. Lightly armored, these ships struck fast but had the disadvantage of only being able to take a few hits before being taken out of the fit. Mere bees stings to the Dominion perhaps, but combined with the other fleets efforts, it served the greater purpose. Still the Dominion blockade wasn't the easiest nut the crack but the admirals of the fleet knew as much. The enemy had dug itself in deep and it was going to take everything they had to get through them and into the Canal. The only relief insight was the attack from the Pacific. With the passing minutes the Atlantic forces grew closer and closer to that imaginary line in the sand, that point when the Pacific allies would open fire and relieve their Atlantic comrades. --------------------------------------------------
The attack on the Galapagos was completely unexpected and despite Fleet Admiral Rhee Tae-woo greatest desires to return and defend the island against the trash that dared to obtain it, he followed orders and continued into the battle of Hawaii, bringing his own fleet around and nearing closer to the enemy fleet. By now his own forces were giving it everything they had against the enemy and taking their far share of damage due to their bold march forward. "We shall bury these fools into the dirt of the ocean floor" the Admiral exclaimed. "We shall show no fear, I want to look that foolish commander in the eye before he dies!" |
