I have read that in XIV° gentury germany, the emperor needs only the approval of the electors to be crowned and the coronation from Aachen bishop Since the HRE i'm creating is not a feudal state, why not evading the coronation problem making the Kaiser crowned by the Reichstag and from a Bishop(chatolic or evangelical depending on the mood of the emperor)? Voting the people you will sustain this idea. Voting God you will sustain the idea of papal coronation. Note: the first case not exclude the second and viceversa |

It's the Holy Roman Empire... Also, can't you put all these HRE threads into a single jumbo thread? |

The HRE wasn't really democratic, but I also don't want to vote Pope either. Could you create a hybrid system? Appoint a handful of trustworthy forum members to be the Electors every time an election rolls around and have Kas represent the Colognian Pope. Then you have an emperor that is elected by the Pope and the Electors. Maybe give Kas' pope two votes rather than one. |

They were also coronated by Popes, however, until the Protestant Reformation. If Filo is still Catholic, a Pope should coronate the Emperor. Why not have the electors vote, with the Pope having the power to veto, but which is informally never exercised (like the Queen's powers in England)? |

This is a Renovatio and because Philipp is more a truly democratic emperor. and because more than half of the christian in the empire are evangelicals. Abuot a jumbo thread, i wished to do so, but i have seen that is impossible to add polls |

I'm probably creating a system of electors in Ireland inspired by the German system. I honestly think you should just stick with the original system of electors. The original Electors were the Archbishop of Cologne, the Archbishop of Mainz, the Archbishop of Trier, the Count Palatine of the Rhine, the Duke of Saxony, the Margrave of Brandenburg, and the King of Bohemia. I know you do not yet have all these lands, but here's hoping you eventually will. |

about the electors De Electoribus (1) The Kaiser and the Reichstag, in their civil service, will be joined by a board of electors of the empire, which will provide assistance to the emperor as the State Council (2) The Electors are eight, chosen by the emperor and by him removed, However The Reichstag has the possibility of preventing the appointment or removal if it has a compelling reason to do so. Why a review of the Reichstag in this regard is valid, only if it should get 3 / 4 vote of the delegates. (3) Electors form a council that has the function to assist the Emperor and the Reichstag in their public functions, advising and exposing more problems. Electors have the right to discuss an imperial law and to request clarification to the Reichstag, their vote against it, however, does not invalidate the law. (4) Qualify for the title of elector, all heads of state of the federal states of the empire, the Heads of Allied countries; personality of the nation, both civil and religious whose work on the growth of empire. (5) The electoral council has, in the case of minority of the monarch, the right to present to the Reichstag a regency council to be approved. Moreover, in the event of termination of Ruling house, Electors will make every effort to find a successor. I like the empire "remember" the old one, but it was not copying or mimic it. this is what I wrote in the imperial constitution about the electors. Obviously, lacking half of Germany would make no sense to remember the seven really exist, so I went to eight. So read and then maybe tell me. |
